FIRE BREATHING V12 BURSTS INTO LIFE. (FV4005)

May 16, 2024
make you care welcome back to another video about the fp45 that we are doing with the Tank Museum and World of Tanks. Now we have all the oil for the suspension, the engine, the gearbox, the air filters, the final dryers, all that. We are going to

fire

this tank up very soon for the first time, so this will be the first time it starts, of course, it would be rude not to start it without the exhaust pipes just once and see some nice flames coming out, so what? The first thing we will do is install the new water temperature sensor, I think I have a new one somewhere in the SP.

Let's go and take a look. I want to make sure all the gauges and the DS and dash are fully functional. I know the water temp sensor wasn't working before so we'll put a new one in, put the fuel and engine oil in and hopefully get it started so first job before us. Fill it with oils and waters. We need to fit the new water temperature sensor and the reason is that the original one in the tank has been there since 1947. This end is broken now. I don't think you can reattach this cable. cable because it's special for heat and stuff and we want it to be accurate so luckily we have a bunch of new genuine gauges made by Smith that probably won't work so we'll go to the kettle now and check it before we go to Everything the effort of installing it to realize that it is a Smith meter and does not work properly.

Now let's test the temperature sensor before installing it. It is working well. It's definitely going up. Is that so? Now we know that it is not a waste of time to install it. That's right, this is the board. I opened it. This is the meter that is defective, so I am going to have to unscrew the thread of the new cable all the way. Press and hold the hole towards the back of the motor to make it work. to be a bit silly, it's taking me a long time, but that's the temperature of the water, that little wire goes all the way there, there, there, all the way to the dash.

Now we have filled the gearbox with oil. We've filled the engine with oil and air filters, we've got some batteries installed, we've got a temporary fuel system fitted with some nice new plumbing, obviously we're not going to run a 20 liter C fuel because that will do it. Run this vehicle for about 10 minutes that's all but it's enough to do a quick test before continuing so without further announcements let's see if this is going to start and there are no exhaust pipes on so it will do a lot noise. Now we are in the cockpit and we turn on the isolator on the ignition with the new indicator, we give it a couple of pumps of acceleration and now we are going to start the first start, now we can get out and breathe well, that was a pretty good first start, normally They don't start out so well, do they?

No, that's not a very Centurian thing, so it started out okay, but what we want to do now is fill it with water. We actually haven't filled it with water yet. Okay, now we're going to fill it with water and antifreeze and then run it until the 20 liter fuel can is completely empty. We can get the engine up to temperature. Make sure all the temperature is working. Check for leaks. Fingers crossed, there aren't any, but if there are ARs, we'll fix them and show you. Got my cherry, which would have been an rfic disaster anyway, is now sizzling a little and that's because we're running away from a Jerry.
The can on top doesn't have proper fuel pressure so it sputters a little, but we have a tank made for it and when the actual fuel tank is installed in the front, the weight of the fuel and the In fact, the tank will be in a better place, it will push it towards the engine and it will run much better. It probably sounds like I'm talking nonsense but you'll see what I mean when we install the tank which could be next week who knows what we're going to do now. I just checked the engine for oil and then backed off and now we're going to start it real quick.
I'm going to try some of the gears. I'm going to try first gear. I'm not going to go like Mablin without cheats, but what I want to see is make sure the Rockets are turning this and that and then I'll try to drive. I'm going to make sure this stops and then we'll know that when we adjust the tracks before we do more, we'll know that everything works, hopefully there are no leaks, that's what we're going to do to start. We'll fill it with regular water straight from the tap, so the doors filter doesn't need to fill it a couple of times, get it up to temperature, hopefully there won't be any leaks, and then if there aren't we'll turn on the tap. the bottom drops a load of water fill it with coolant run it again should be fine sorry bless you thanks for that vital information well we'll see it's an amazing success what I think we do now is drain the oils of the final transmission. and we'll change them to new ones and then we'll add the oils in the shock bus there so we'll drop them in a second and then we'll get the new oil which shouldn't point with an O and uh We add the shock oils then we're all set for the tracks that are outside the tracks and then we'll talk about what we're doing with the turret, so let's get the Dr.
I don't think you need a bar as big as That's right, what will come out, hopefully, no, nothing major Well, well, it's not horrible, but it's not exactly golden either, right? Yes, and there is not too much metal filings. I thought there would be more, but Centurion eventually dries down as a rule. They are very, very strong. I've never known one to fail, so, yeah, we'll give it some service. I definitely think it's necessary. Can you give me an r please? That's the internal final drive, simply filling the pump. Little thing with a lot of gold, look how gold that oil is, it will last another 77 years, I guess before it changes, I wonder how, when was the last Chang.
I can't imagine it was at the forefront of their minds which one will be last. about old and new oil, this is the most prehistoric way to fill it. I guess that's how they would have done it, but there's no doubt there's the right tool somewhere. I don't have it, I won't go crazy with it. Right on the other side, well again, not the mintiest, but I didn't see any teeth falling out, which is what you're looking for when you drop the gearbox or final drives, you're always looking for a tooth to fall out. and then, uh, then.
You pretend you've never seen it properly for a minute when I clean up that mess, Jack will kill me for it, now we've finished refilling all the suspension that was last and I've made quite a mess. I also made a mess of one, but we don't want to go back on that anyway, we're going to show you what we've done with the turret this way, so I originally said I was going to make a video taking this, can you? just stop making noise trying to talk, can you turn on the icon? It's very hot in here so the heat has been inside this turret all day and it's like an oven in here so this is a Traverse no no no no this is the working lift gearbox with the G obviously up and down, it's the original and we think we can repair it, so I took it all apart.
I was going to video it, but it was pretty simple, there's the top casing, obviously the handle. you grind it, it spins this shaft and the Tank Museum managed to find the original shaft that we were missing so I only have one piece there that I should ask our engineer to come up with and then that will connect to that and why we take it to P main is to clean it, you see it had grease and it's clean, but it's gone like the oil has become hard and the only thing gritty, so we're going to get Thor to thoroughly clean the new oil, the other thing we had to to do was take This is the big thread so when you turn the handle it turns all of this and this on a bearing and basically it's just a simple screw and that screw is on the back of the bottom of the gun so when you do it tours. just lift the screw up or down, it's very simple, but we need to know the type of thread so the engineer can make a new screw that fits the back of the big gun outside because we don't have that, I don't know where. that's over and then hopefully the T Museum will be able to find it as I think it's just a regular Centurion lift handle.
I thought I had one but I can't seem to find it and that will be the lift ordered, we have the seat that has been done, the Traverse gearbox is going to be a problem, we don't have the original, that's all we have to activate , but in my space department, basically, in the tight Nettles, I have a standard Centurion uh Traverse gearbox, so With some small adjustments and some brackets, hopefully we can install a normal Centurion Traverse gearbox so you can turn in S going from left to right and of course being a standard Centurion ring it should fit, it's just a matter of can we get it to fit there and I don't want to change the turret whatever we do.
I want it to be reversible so that it always is. If we wanted, we could try to find the plans. I'm not sure if you have the plans for the original Traverse Box, but if you're listening to the Tank Museum, take a look at the plans for me and we'll see if we can remanufacture them in time, but there's no need to do that right now, so Yeah. That's the turret, so things are going well there. We're still waiting for the metal chunks that we sent to the engineers to come back and then we can use the back ground anchor that's out there, so on to the next one. video I'd like to think we should put the tracks on first and then maybe fit the turret, we won't put the guns on, we're obviously missing some parts here, but we could put the turret on. the hole that will be a great moment.
We're also waiting for the fuel tank to come back, so I expect a lot of things to happen next week, but anyway, thanks everyone for watching and I'll see you again in another video. goodbye oh oh and that hatch you are repairing I forgot about that another job
