2022 Cook Islands: Rarotonga

Planning the trip was very easy despite the mountain of paperwork required due to the pandemic. Fortunately, the paperwork is already done. Easily and quickly online the final bill for the nine day trip was 2300 per person and included all food, transport and accommodation, no problem for the plastic wallet. Auckland Airport was fairly smooth and border checks and formalities only took a few minutes and by 4pm we were on our way on Air New Zealand, the next morning, like every morning, and also during the night, we woke up in south Cox. They are everywhere, on every road, store, resort, and house.

When we arrived at the hotel, all the scooters at the politicians rental were reserved, so we spent the first two days walking around the area.

We begin by visiting the city six kilometers and 10 minutes from the Edgewater resort. We rented our scooter from Polynesian Rentals, which operates everything. around the island and has a branch at the Edgewater Hotel. You can rent scooters from other companies that are cheaper but not as convenient. The cost was 35 per day which included insurance and the total petrol bill for the week was 14NZ and us. We did about 250 kilometers, oh, driving on a scooter was a lot of fun, the speed limit is 50 km, there are no traffic lights and only two roundabouts to go around the entire island it takes about 45 minutes and we did it about five times longer than I did when we arrived .

In the city we visited the police station where tourists who did not have a license to ride a bike had to take practical tests, then we looked at the supermarkets, shops and the church and had lunch at the Penanga Nui market. That night we went to Charlie's cafe and bar for dinner we relaxed at the Edgewater resort the next day we decided to go to Murray where the best beaches are and see the night food market on the way we called at Whitmore waterfall which At that time it was just a splash, it tastes good. the night market, but it's actually daytime, yeah, I'll probably explain why we're the only ones here.

We returned later for lunch, but at that time the market was quite disappointing as local food was in short supply due to the week-long storm. Earlier the next morning we decided to take a walk around Black Rock Beach, all of Black Rock, further down the beach a member of the Strickland family was making a head garland for a large family gathering. About 600 family members were here in Rarotonga the next time we went. Back to the Panango Nui market in town, but since there wasn't much going on there, we made a spontaneous decision to have lunch at the Mooring Café in Muriel.

The cafe came highly recommended and we enjoyed the fish and chips there. Maureen Café Any Well, back at the Edgewater resort it was time to relax and watch the Welsh pot offshore and then watch the sunset and finally a meal at Is Water Spaghetti restaurant, what a great way to spend the day , another day in paradise but with sounds all day. And tonight we thought we'd visit the Aurora Town Resort, a little smaller than the 280-room Edgewater. Three weeks ago, the resort suffered some storm damage to some of its beachfront units and one of its walkways was demolished, not broken, ah, jib exhaust supply. major damage here the kina restaurant across the street also suffered major damage this is the restaurant that was destroyed in repairs at this time among other things the complex has a table tennis table and the usual four star features After touring the complex, we had lunch there and then sat down to look at the lagoon, the area is incredibly beautiful and after taking it all in we returned to the water's edge for dinner.
