You can rent scooters from other companies that are cheaper but not as convenient. The cost was 35 per day which included insurance and the total petrol bill for the week was 14NZ and us. We did about 250 kilometers, oh, driving on a scooter was a lot of fun, the speed limit is 50 km, there are no traffic lights and only two roundabouts to go around the entire island it takes about 45 minutes and we did it about five times longer than I did when we arrived .
In the city we visited the police station where tourists who did not have a license to ride a bike had to take practical tests, then we looked at the supermarkets, shops and the church and had lunch at the Penanga Nui market. That night we went to Charlie's cafe and bar for dinner we relaxed at the Edgewater resort the next day we decided to go to Murray where the best beaches are and see the night food market on the way we called at Whitmore waterfall which At that time it was just a splash, it tastes good. the night market, but it's actually daytime, yeah, I'll probably explain why we're the only ones here.
We returned later for lunch, but at that time the market was quite disappointing as local food was in short supply due to the week-long storm. Earlier the next morning we decided to take a walk around Black Rock Beach, all of Black Rock, further down the beach a member of the Strickland family was making a head garland for a large family gathering. Back to the Panango Nui market in town, but since there wasn't much going on there, we made a spontaneous decision to have lunch at the Mooring Café in Muriel.
The cafe came highly recommended and we enjoyed the fish and chips there.
