I Get A K-POP Makeover!

Mar 25, 2024
Hey guys, is Tina here? Welcome back to another episode of Tina Tries. Today's episode is a little different. I'm in Korea right now and that's why I'm renewing myself as a Kpop. When I think of Korean beauty, I think of perfect skin, straight eyebrows, and natural feminine makeup. It's very different from the Western world and I'm excited to learn more about it. So I booked a Korean

makeover

at Heumm beauty salon. The

makeover

started when I washed my hair and blow-dried it. Now the best part of this was the head massage. Honestly, I could lie there for hours and get a head massage.

I then blew dried my hair with a little waves and volume at the roots. And then I headed to the makeup room and I was in makeup heaven. There was a lot of makeup and all the makeup was very well distributed on the table. Noah was my makeup artist and he started by cleaning my eyebrows with a razor. Now I have a video on this if you are interested in shaping your eyebrows with a razor. So be sure to click the link above. She then cleansed my skin with a makeup remover wipe and then did a second cleanse with a cleansing pad to completely remove all my makeup.

More Interesting Facts About,

i get a k pop makeover...

This is really important if you want a long-lasting complexion. Now with Korean makeup you know they love dewy, flawless skin, so Noah applied a moisturizer and then a highlighter to the center of my face. For the foundations, he used Shu Uemura fluid foundation and applied it all over my forehead and eyelids. Then, using some powder, he set my eyebrows and lightened them using a powder blush to match my pink hair. For the eyebrows, he used two different colored Shu Uemura hard brow pencils to create a straight, full shape. Noah explained that with Korean makeup they generally like to keep their brows pretty full and natural looking so as not to go too crazy with them.

Once she was happy with the shape of my eyebrows, he applied a colored mascara to help lighten the hair. For the eyeshadows, he used a Lunasol quad and applied the gold color all over the lid. Then, using the bronze tone, he blended it on top of the cover of my phone. That was it for the eyeshadow, so it kept it looking very natural and very soft. Moving on to the eyeliner, this part took the longest. Noah started by using a brown pencil to line my upper lash line, he stayed very close to my lash line to create a thin line and then went over that line with a brow gel liner.

Finally he used a black gel eyeliner on top. Doing the eyeliner in steps and building up gradually helps add depth to the eyes. Generally, with Korean eye makeup, it is best to use natural looking lashes. They don't really like very heavy mink lashes, they like to wear something much more natural. These strip lashes have been cut into smaller pieces to help them blend with my natural lashes. Once the lashes are on, Noah applies a coat of mascara to make them look bigger. And here's the interesting part: he lights a wooden skewer stick, like those used for barbecues, and blows out the flame.
He uses the end of the stick to curl my eyelashes and hold them in place. Apparently this is what all Korean makeup artists do: help lashes stay upright. Once the lashes are on, blend a darker brown shadow on top of the eyeliner to create more depth. Then apply the foundation mixed with the highlighter all over the face and blend it with this sponge. Next, it is hidden under the eyes and a small amount of gold eyeshadow is applied to the lower lash line. To make my eyes look bigger, individual lower lashes were applied and a little glitter was applied to the center of the lower lash line.
Moving on to the cheeks, Noah used two types of blushes and an orange blush and a pink cream blush to finish. The same goes for my lips, two colors were applied, one was a lighter pink which was applied all over and the other was a deeper pink which was applied to the center of my lips to create the gradient lip. Finally, my foundation was lightly powdered to keep it dewy and the tip of my nose was contoured to make it look a little smaller. To complete the makeover, my hair was styled with soft waves and volume at the roots.
And that was my makeover complete. What do you think? Here's a before and after shot so you can see the transformation. Let me know if you like the makeup style and if you want to see more Korean makeup tutorials. I bought a lot of new products, so I will film my video for you.
