Delkevic Exhaust Fitting Guide | Honda CB750 4 into 1 Pipe Sound | Motorcycle Project | Part 19

Apr 03, 2024
You may remember that when I first bought this bike, it had two tubes that look a bit like a wood stove tube running through the roof, and

part

of one side was missing, so it came off pretty much immediately. I put this on, which is a short

pipe

, yeah, two short

pipe

s on both sides just as I was starting the bike, this actually came out of the original, the k0 that I made in the previous series of videos, um, it's a

sound

ing

exhaust

Pretty good, but there are several problems with it, one is it so sharp that it doesn't look like you have a leak?

Secondly, because it is sharp. There's no bracket to keep the centerstand from hitting the chain, so you have to make a bracket for that anyway with it. k zero I replaced it with the delqvic and I really liked their delk so I managed to get another one this time, although I have one that has the straight tube coming out, not upside down, but tapered. one that I had on the previous bike but I know it's going to

sound

just as good so my intention is to take this

exhaust

off and put it on my nice shiny dalkovic that I have and we're going to ride before I show you my shiny new delkavic overall . of its glory, I'm just going to take this old one off so I just need to undo the clamps and slide them down and then there's just one bolt on each side that actually holds the pipes on so I'm hoping it comes loose pretty easily now.

More Interesting Facts About,

I have undone the clamps, there are only these that connect it to the frame rail and the bottom frame rail, undo them and it should be loose, it needs to be removed. Typically the nuts and bolt end are very close to the exhaust on the frame. I remember I had this problem, well at least it's loose, it has all the clamps undone and the mounting bolt underneath undone, so in principle it should be loose, it has exhaust mounting paste, which is probably like concrete now with this type of exhaust, the outer two actually go over the middle two, so I'm just going to keep tapping it, moving it around, tap it on the end, it looks a little sketchy and what I do.

What I don't want to do is damage the cylinders like someone on the other side did, so let's knock it around a bit and see what happens. Tap it to unwrap it, so I'll use a piece of wood on the bits that could get damaged. I was hitting it with the hammer earlier, it's actually in the bushings that go inside the clamps and it's a matter of just keeping giving it a little tap here and there and eventually it should come loose, there you go, it's definitely on its way. Well, that's that one, okay, a little bit of leverage, maybe it's a move, so sometimes it works in your favor, oh yeah, usually the bolt holds on to grim death even though it doesn't You have nothing to hold on to, okay, just to make sure we get there.

All the old assembly was removed, otherwise it is a diabolical job to put in the new pipes. I'm really excited to put this up. It wasn't new, but it was from a bike that had barely been used and I can see that's true because only a few of them still have the numbers on them so you know what they are. I remember last time, it's a little tricky to figure out which ones for which cylinder, but once you have them, you can figure out where this pipe goes and everything. The slots together, I get it right, so that should put them roughly in the right position when I put them in, so I'll number them now, as I mentioned, not all the pipes were numbered, so the ones that were numbered I put in.
I also decided to just place the others so I can see how they would fit in here. I'm going to put the numbers on them in a place that is under the clamps, it will most likely burn, but if not. might be there to help me in the future, but it will certainly help me this time, starting at that end, they're one to four, right, I'll take them off, put some exhaust mounting paste on, put the clamp back on, push them in back. and I put the clamps on loosely so I can move them around while I put the rest on well so it's a little tricky to get them to line up they should be pretty even in the end with an equal space around to go on that and you'll have to keep moving them a little bit and just when you think you're about to give up everything will fall into place so once you've managed to persuade them to do this in a reasonable order you'll need to push it forward so you can attach the springs and as you can see there are A pretty big gap now, the problem is that when you push it forward it will want to fall out of the exhaust ports at the front, so you have to do a bit of a juggling act, especially if you're doing it alone now.
I already have almost everything on. I'm going to tighten them so I don't keep throwing them. Do not do it. I want to do this too soon because it really has to move underneath and I may end up having to loosen them again and move them again, but we'll see, we don't need to get bitter, experience tells me that even if you think that when you get there, something will be a little left. out, so I'm going to test the end tube now and the bracket that holds it to the frame and see how much wiggle room I have.
I still have to put those springs in. Honestly, Schwarzenegger trained a lot with springs, but not like these, so let's not push the bike now, that will go there, my pleasure, other than I need to move everything a little, so I'll loosen it up. take it off and do that, move it, put this behind it, put a bolt in, so it doesn't keep rattling around. I'm going to cut it, not too tight, so I'm going to have to move everything right, it will line up. up, but it won't actually go up far enough now I have to admit that I see a lot of these dalkovics with a little extra support here, which I might end up doing, but first of all let's see if I can move it. and get it over here, it looks like it can be snapped into place and that little

part

hanging down is actually to prevent the center stand from hitting the swing arm that I intend to put the rear footrests on, but in the end In this moment, this nifty little spacer came with the hardware I have and since it fits really well in there and I can't get it anywhere near there that would be a problem, but if I push the spacer out with a little bit of locking it should do the trick. be able to move it oh yeah that went into the hole nicely just to hold it for now right now to put the springs in I still think I might have to do something with this but let's try one of them and see what happens hmm , I'm not convinced that should be that long, but hey, it looks good, I'm not going to get that ally, that was easy, I'm just making it look hard, well, cut everything now and be at it, it was actually a little easier when Put the one on the last bike, although I made it look difficult, it's always a struggle, you're always moving and moving things and then you squeeze everything in the end, but hey, it's all good, that ends well, I realized that he couldn't sit down. on the outside, so what I did was make a little stand for it to sit on the inside.
I've seen this before with Delqvics so they fit, maybe it's just because I never bought a new one and maybe you get the right brackets if you buy you know the new one, but hey this works. Hmm, if you enjoyed this video, why don't you subscribe or give us a thumbs up? Stay tuned for the next one because hopefully you'll see it. this beast on the road
