Auction GAMBLE, Ritchie Bros Gets me Good!

Jun 25, 2024
What's up, everyone welcome back to Diesel Creek? There's another

auction

event on the horizon here, so I'm meeting my friend Sam here at the Richie Brothers sale. Let's take a look and see what kind of garbage is here. It's on sale now, if you follow me regularly you'll know I'm a big fan of going to these

auction

s and at the last Richie Brothers auction I had the biggest haul to date. I bought eight forklifts, two Hall trucks and two tah trucks. handlers Now, as I explained in that video, a lot of the things I buy at these sales are for resale.

I've started changing some of these auction things. Somehow I watch the prices. I know what things are worth. I try to get some

good

deals and when I do, I try to turn around and sell them for a small profit, make a few bucks, so the 8 for Cliffs haven't sold very well. I think I got

good

buys, in fact, I know it. I got good buys on them, but I think what happened was they all came from Yellow Freight and if you're not familiar with Yellow Freight, they were a big trucking company that had terminals all over the country and of course they had at each terminal they had tons of these forklifts and they went out of business so all their stuff went up for auction and the market is absolutely flooded with these forklifts right now and they are not ideally configured or equipped with a really high platform. boom so it's done it was a bit of a pain to sell the ones I've sold a couple now um but they're not exactly flying off the shelves so the other big ticket item I had to sell and exchange from the last sale was the hall truck and the genius tah Handler I decided I was going to go with the second tandler.

More Interesting Facts About,

auction gamble ritchie bros gets me good...

I bought the grall, but have been working on the genius tandler. I have it almost ready to resell, but I have not listed or sold it. However, my budget for this sale isn't really big because I haven't gone through those things yet, but you never know what you're going to find here, so we're going to take a little look today and then, uh. when the auction comes we'll see if there are any bids, you never know what you can't live without, you gotta take down the curtains, it's Buu that shines here and you'll want to make sure we See you good here at the Richie Brothers auction, just coming through the door door, the first thing I noticed is that there is a big old fire truck there.
auction gamble ritchie bros gets me good
I think it is a rear tiller truck with this type, it looks like a big cat genset unit. probably built from a shipping container, how about that fire truck, huh, that thing's cute, we'll check it out on the way out, what's this here? Yes, it's the machine I thought it was. I walked by here the other day and I thought I saw this machine here, this is a Kamasu PC 128 yuu, the model uyu indicates that it has this ridiculous articulated arm up there, but this machine was owned by a company I used to work for and I've actually run this machine and I'm talking about I used this machine 10 years ago and it was a load of rubbish then so I can only imagine how they've been treating it over the years, it doesn't look like it's worked in a long time although I think it probably just been sitting in your garden, if I had to guess, if I remember correctly, when we were using it 10 years ago, you had to put a bungee cord on the throttle to speed it up.

It is a good size machine. I will accept it. which I don't know how applauded it really is anymore, it's been a long time since I used it, if it were cheap enough, I mean I guess it would be worth spending some money on this machine, as you can see there. They didn't take away the logo, it was owned by Golden Triangle Construction, which if you remember way back in the canal, they had another machine that they owned, it was that big orange Clark loader, uh, they used to paint everything. their machines were orange for some reason that was their stick and I think this is from the early 2000s or late 90s something like that and as you can see it's faded now but this is a nasty purple you can see where they painted over it.
There, the whole machine was purple, so we called it the Barney machine, let's see if this old warhorse is going to fire up. There is no key in you. Luckily, I come prepared. Oh, the whole ignition just spins. That's good. This could be two-handed. deal, you can't use the kamasu. I put the key in the ignition, turn it and it just twists the insides of the ignition. I thought everything was spinning so I grabbed it with one hand and turned the key with the other hand, uh, but the inside of the inside of the ignition just spins in a circle, so I guess we won't see if that ring works today .
Another beauty queen hit here is this former Kamasu 51, she looks just like her. She's seen a few things, probably just a good wash would make it look a lot better, but oh, she's got the floor ripped out. I'm not even going to bother looking, there's no need, we'll stay away from that now. interesting, this was a fabulous machine, they owned my kamasu excavator, just sold my pc75, take a good look at that big boy. I have that welder and he is a good welder, what the hell is this thing? An SAE 400 which is a great welder and not I don't know why but there is a sticker that says it is not suitable for arc cutting.
I don't see how a 400+ amp machine wouldn't be good for arc cutting, but maybe you guys who know better can let me know in the comments. I'm not 100% sure but I think Perkins sounds like a Perkins would work fine, it seems to go up to 600 amps, good sauce H. I'm sure I don't need a welder that big, but it looks like it's good, shit they brought. even more Pensky vans than last time in the sale, just keep going, that's a lot of Pensky vans, that's enough, enough of those boring little things, let's get into the fun stuff, look at this little guy, he's a very good ASV, never I have done.
I've seen one of these little dumpers on a tow trailer. This thing is great. I have no idea what this thing is going to be used for. I'm going to guess that it's probably more than I'd like to spend on it, but man, if the price was right, you know you could sell this to someone who has a hunting camp or something who wants to be able to take off into the woods or the mountains. mountains and yes, it's just a neat little unit that has a forward and reverse pedal. It steers with a steering wheel apparently going to start but is there a master switch somewhere?
Yes I found it. I bet it starts now. Oh yes, we have signs of life. The fire is quite easy, pleasant and quiet. Oh, we have to see this thing. Drive, what A neat little unit, with plenty of room for two here, it has a pretty serious roll cage or built-in rocks. The front windshield folds down and you have this whole blade control thing here. I'm guessing it's probably set up to be like a mini snow cat. I guess that's my best guess, but obviously there's no blade, so you've got the blade control platform controls throttle up here, down here, climate control, two-p speed, continuous flow, this thing is cool again.
I have no idea what something like this is worth, but I'm going to say it's going to sell for about 40 grand somewhere. I could be completely wrong. Better late than never. The Jake Break tells me that my friend Sam finally made it. Actually, he is returning from another sale. where he bought a box trailer, we are here in skid steer alley, we have a few machines now and only a couple that look decent, a couple of tracks down there don't look too bad. I don't think he would ever buy another Bobcat. Again, these cashier machines are highly regarded by the people who operate them.
I'm not really a case guy. These 1845s are supposed to be absolutely bulletproof. I think it's one from early 1845, yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't have a 4bt. The later ones made this is a 1845c so yeah so I guess the C models are the ones with the 4B cuming, this one has a VTS track system bolted on instead of the wheels so in theory you could remove that track system and bolt it on. directly into this old machine as long as the gaps are the same between the two models, but I assume they are, but those VTS systems are supposed to be pretty good at taking a hoisted machine and turning it into a tracked machine, what do we have ?
Down here we have a 289d and a 289c. I'm going to say the D model without even looking at the hours or anything. I'm going to say the model D will probably cost 35 and then the model C will probably cost around 30, prices were coming down a bit on the last sale for some devices so it might be a little high right now. They've given this one a 5 gon overhaul, they did an absolutely abominable job trying to repaint this thing. They just chased it with a flap disc on a grinder. It seems like you can see all these big ones.
I don't know if it will show up on camera but they didn't take all the paint they just ripped it off and then brushed the paint back on and it looks fine from 20 feet away but when you get closer the tracks are worn out they're garbage so You'll have to put some tracks on it as soon as you put the sprockets on. Actually, and another take, you know, usually. I just think it's preferable to make the sprockets at the same time as the track. Oddly enough, the interior doesn't look completely broken. The seat looks decent. The plastic is not broken at all.
I'm fine, I don't need it. I'm not a fan of giant jack skid steers. Believe it or not, International 4300 over here, two horsepower going down here to the excavators, they've got a lot of kamasu here on the block. It seems like everyone has seen some highway work. they're Fay machines looks like your friend Sam found himself found a new toy here high lift dresser model seems to work pretty well this is basically a tv15 with a crawler loader from what I understand what do you think Bud blew up, blew up? It's not right, yeah, why does Sam say it's not right, he's not impressed, what's not good about it, it's worn out, oh my god, that c is small, we can definitely live without that thing, oh mint, I have a Cat 973 here, I don't think I've ever done it.
In fact, I have been next to one of these 73 in person. This is a big machine. I don't know what you have to be pushing, pushing 70,000 4 in a cube here. Sam says it's like new. Oh yes, it is too. which I don't think has been used, let's see if we can figure this out, turn it on, it has very nice landing gear. I bet you this is going to last a long time, yeah, a long time, oh, there's no key buddy I'll do it, the controller sounds pretty good, it's a big old charger. Oh, I don't think it's really new, but it's low time.
It's a big boy with that extra screen on top. Makes me think this was working. in some kind of recycling plant or maybe a landfill, something like that. I could be wrong, but they make it with lightweight, bulky materials so you can get more per bucket, which doesn't seem right. The cube just moves around. U maybe him. he just didn't have enough pressure how many hours he had on his 12,800 12,000 I'm going to say if this is going to cost around 70 grand, it might be the last time. I was very surprised how high they went, those are the little ones, although I'm taking 60, okay, just to be low, yes, the prices, the rules right, yes, I like the small step you took here, they did a pretty good job good painting it, paint J, but it's, do you see how lazy like the uh? cylinders and all, there's a lot of SLO, yeah, definitely seen some use one of my favorite modern tractors and it's already set up with a pipe blade and a winch, that's how you'd want it, these things sound amazing. you guys on the other side for a full muffler a new wire and Becket in there oh her Stout dude I don't think that's gonna happen Bob bummer that's Dozer o1 on the fender but Dozer O2 on the side, yes.
Any feeling I got from the fender of my 1 I see you might have is that the 8r is going to light up a whole friend, yeah she shot right now, that's the difference between a mechanical motor and an electronic motor, that thing will fire immediately, hey, lower the blade all the way. The front nose cone goes back and forth. I have never seen the entire hard nose move back and forth. That's why you inspect before you buy, boy, that thing is applauded. I'd say it's time to rebuild the framework of this one. I think it might have the Bill Miller lineup, it might be because one has a sticker on it, oh that would make sense.
I have never seen a hard nose move back and forth before I could see from the seat. I could see the can. I work here and I'm like, oh God, I've never seen that and I was sloppy on those. I guess you'd call it a trunnion up there or I don't know what you'd call that where the cylinders actually go. on the hard nose I'm going to make a yoke, okay yoke, they're sloppy too, but the whole hard nose was moving like 2 inside, at most, I've never seen that busted, here's three of these Moxy Hall trucks, these all They were owned by the same Golden Triangle company I talked about before, they had these horrible orange paint jobs and apparently they were good trucks, but the parts are a nightmare to buy.cost around 30, I don't think we'll get there, but it's cheaper than I thought.
I think some of them in the Richie Brothers story only cost seven grand, well maybe we'll get the 30, okay, me neither. far, I don't think so, guys, it was a few days after the auction, we didn't get much stuff, but we have an item that I'm really excited about, let's go to the sale, let's pick that up, well, we've done it. bought us a Mac Truck to see if it will start, make sure no one left the key in during the auction, promising, oh yes, dear Darla, well, we bought a Mac Truck. I'm excited, now we can do a little test.
Fire, let's drive back to the farm. I hope we achieve it. I feel pretty confident although this is a very nice truck, a little shine and it will be a beautiful little vehicle. Well we've got our air built I think we're ready to hit the road oh we're Billy big rig now guys oh she shifts too good this is the most I've got to drive it so far dad well guys we made it H man I'm a big fan about this truck, it's not the prettiest truck in the world, it's not the flashiest and there are a lot of them out there, at least in my area.
Macs are pretty ubiquitous, you see them everywhere, but for the money, this truck is very well put together and there's almost nothing wrong with it. Some little things. I can hear some air leaks coming back here. Nothing important. Uh oh, the shock absorbers rotted. We will have to replace them. You know, stupid little things, but that's really nothing. In the scheme of playing Billy Big Rig, it's not a very long drive back to my house here from the auction yard, but it's long enough to put a truck through its paces. Everything worked perfectly, the engine ran perfect, it didn't get hot or anything.
All the lights even worked. Jake Brake Works. The transmission shifts very well in all gears. Basically, I think this truck needs very, very little to be put on the road. Well, guys, I guess this is almost a summary of this auction video. If you like these. auction videos, as always, be sure to do me a favor. Hit the thumbs up button below the video, it doesn't cost you but a second of your time also drop me a comment below let me know what you think about this purchase. So far I'm very pleased with it, next time you see this truck we'll take it to the shop, just check it out, do the quick service, you know, change all the oils, fluids, chemicals, all that jazz and then fix it. any little things we need to fix before we can get it on the road and then hopefully we can put this thing through its paces, hook up a trailer and pull something with it, uh, last but not least, I want to mention that there's still a lot.
