Temporary Power Pole Installation / Adding Power to Raw Land for Shed to House Conversion

I'm so excited, it's time to bring some

power

here, so our first step in placing our

power

pole

is to dig a hole. We have a loop on the top of our

temporary

power

pole

as a metal hook that we attach these straps to. and then we're lifting them up while Austin pushes up the post and then we'll place it in the hole that we just dug with the auger. Next is to make sure everything is level and add some wooden supports which we are also going to fill our hole with concrete so these are just to temporarily help keep it level.

Next is to hammer the ground rod. Notice the tree strap, we are tying it to the tree in case we get a strong wind. Nut here probably won't do anything, but you know she's held up, so this is a

power pole that we bought used and asked a friend of ours to add some plugs to the breakers for us and also add a caravan plug. down and this is the ground rod so you connect those wires at the bottom that come out to the ground rod and that is also a requirement and for our area the requirement was that the groundwater rod had to be at least four feet on the ground so it was an adventure getting it down there and then the pole itself I think three feet is the minimum but we're probably at least four feet on the ground so the power pole is done and we failed on our first inspection to get the county permit for this pole because our ground rod was too tall according to the county so ausa is reconnecting the wires after cutting them so after our first inspection we failed because the rod of ground, which is this guy here, we used the diagram from our The power company that had this showed probably four or five feet high and the county came and felt us up in the inspection because they said it was no more than six inches high , so it's probably already at least five feet underground, so we just cut it out. at six inches high and the power company said even though they have diagrams it's up to the county what happens so luckily it was a small thing on the second inspection we passed and the power company is here to put up a new pole. transformer and run the line to our temporary power pole.

and read and wired and done and everything ready to go but now we just want to plug it in so we can run the wire into things and have full control and know where the power is coming from so that's what works best for us, especially since we are not electricians, but it is very exciting to have power here.
