#27 Jan. 21st - Doe Patrol Gone Wrong. Wisconsin Late Season Archery on Public Land

. Today I'm here on the Dole Patrol. I saw him yesterday on the way home from work. I saw about 30 deer in this harvested corn field and I have permission from a

land

owner to cross this property to get to the

public

land

, so my plan here is to set up right on the edge of the field. Got a perfect win today and hopefully a good sized stand comes out and we can I can close in a good deer bed on the other side of the field where I guess some of those deer I saw last night came out, where I'm set up, it's literally right on the property boundary.

You can see the sign right here, so my only chance. It will be in the countryside, in a fairly open forest. There is a large patch of pine trees that are about 15 feet tall and 100 yards away on the other side of this forest, so I bet a lot of those deer are bedded in and out. this woods on its way to the field, a perfect straight southwest wind, there are two trails coming out into the field here at about 10 and 20 yards and I have another heavy trail coming from this side of me. which isn't perfect because they'll be directly downwind, but there wasn't really any option for trees, but they were on

I already hit this. I don't know if I touched it or not, damn, Studio hit it. I'll go check here in a minute. There was a window that had. You couldn't really see it on camera because it was a different angle. but I think what happened is my limb hit this tree branch and I could feel it in my ball, my ball hit the limb for sure and I'm sure that ruined my arrow coming out and it almost looks like in the movie it had socks. It's a small screen, but I think my arrow also hit a branch, so that sucks, but I think it feels good that the plan worked the way I thought.

The problem is that there are no good trees here in public if I could. If I went just 10 feet into this forest, I'd have plenty of butter trees to sit on since this one has so many limbs and everything, but I didn't feel very safe sitting on the ground either, but yeah, it was pretty exciting. I don't know, I think the first group of dolls came out at about 60 yards, there are a couple of good sized, healthy, mature looking dolls with some fawns and then this one that I just shot looking like it was a year or two old, although it is difficult.

It's hard to say but the two fawns came out right in front of her and I let them go but they gave me some good shots in the field, maybe if I had been a little more patient she probably would have done it. Also, let's take a look at this Arrow. I have to get some stinky Illuminax for next year. I already had my bow tuned and everything with these arrows, so I didn't want to mess with that this
