good evening welcome back tonight is actually going to be another smorgasbord video to fill in some gaps and to start off I just wanted to mention last weekend at the end of the second week with fries and that's how Saturday night started tomorrow. Upstairs I had hyperbaric on a Saturday, which is unusual at noon and I mean Sandy 9, my sister and I didn't sleep well, so we dragged around a little bit, but we got out, we were waiting for Chip's car, he said. to come pick us up and take us to the hospital where they do the hyperbaric chamber and no one shows up, times go by.

I'm trying to contact the clinic and hospital and I can't get through to anyone so I check it out. I'm like I'm booking mine to the hospital and the closest uber is about 20 minutes away. They hadn't had to finish a trip before he could come pick us up for some reason. Music. It's usually no problem getting an uber it's like three minutes so I went ahead and booked the uber anyway we got to the hospital we were like 10 or 15 minutes late they said oh we were looking for you let's go back there and They already started the chamber without me, so I was immediately frustrated by the whole situation, actually, but I talked to the person who runs the chamber and everything they worked out for me to come back so I could get the treatment on Saturday, but I was going to having to return at 6 p.m.

So we were hoping to go to San Diego and visit our cousin, go to the beach with her in San Diego right now, we weren't going to be able to do that, so since we're in the hospital and we have time, we walked. to the restaurant that prepares everything for the Gershon diet for the hospital, just as it worked the first weekend. I did not do it. I only had coffee for the enemas on Friday night, which is only enough for three, so I'm supposed to do three a week. day, so I didn't have enough coffee to do the enemas all weekend.

I talked to them about how we would just go to Water Crest and they would have it for you and then we also had a conversation about the hours. because the hours they gave us and the hours they told us when we went the weekend before were not the same so we got there again, it's just someone who speaks Spanish like no English and they didn't have the coffee there for me. No one had given me an extra bucket for coffee and it became a kind of ordeal, finally she just washed a bucket that she had in the store and gave it to us and from there we got my juices for the day while I was there.

I was on it, but it's very discouraging, so we took an Uber back to the hotel and I don't exactly remember the rest of the day, but it just wasn't a great day, nothing seemed to go right all day. Oh, Sunday. So the next day we get up and the first coffee enema is in the morning, basically, as soon as you wake up and go through the normal routine and we find out that the hotel's water has been turned off, so we go downstairs. there and apparently there is a marathon outside the hotel in Tijuana, all kinds of televisions connected are very busy and then I don't know if they broke a circuit so that the water tanks that they had filled didn't work or what but they couldn't fix it, they weren't going to be able to fix it for several hours and again we had planned to go see his cousin in San Diego and now we couldn't shower, we couldn't do anything and we just Once again, you know, it was just frustrating and a little discouraging, but we were talking to his cousin, she just comes here early, you can shower at the house and stuff, so we move on.
Up there we can do all that, we met our cousin's daughter and they took us to Disneyland. I've never been to Disneyland. I've been to Disney World, but we've never been to Disneyland, so this is our first time going. It was good and on the way it's like a two hour drive from San Diego to Anaheim. I was listening to my church sermons during the week, so I go to Calvary Chapel of Colombia in Tennessee, but again my spiritual father Lyle pastors Abundant Life. Fellowship and Enosburg falls Vermont, so I heard both sermons. The first sermon I heard was Calvary Chapel.
It came up on my Facebook and in that sermon they were using the book of Haggai and explaining the enemy using discouragement. away from God's will and just that morning I texted someone and said, "You know, it's been a rough weekend and I know the enemy is just attacking us to counteract what God is trying to do." here and that's how it was." Validation hearing that in the sermon that day too, you know, just confirming what I was already thinking about the situation, the pastor was just talking about that discouragement and ironically referenced our story during the sermon, you know, all this journey against cancer for four years.
Through this and the different points of discouragement along the way it's like every October it seems like I get bad news and it's discouraging and you know just one of the things you have to fight for and the roller coaster and the second sermon. of my father Lyle was about the delayed fulfillment of prayer and referred to the story of Abraham and the son that God had promised he would have with Sarah and how there was a 25 year gap between that promise and the fulfillment in the birth of Isaac and after the sermon he was telling some stories and again he referenced me and that sermon as well and again it was just an added validation of this whole story on that weekend so it was very affirming, just an answer to the prayer of God. you know, after going through all of this and you know the whole process, even here, this wears on me, so it was a big relief and then we got to Disneyland and we had a great time with everyone, you know, it was just what it brought.
Memories of being at Disneyworld as a kid for my sister, you know, we were reminiscing all the time as we were spending it. Turns out I'm a bit of a Star Wars geek and that's why they just opened up the galaxy. edge there, so we had to do all that and it was a great time to be with the family, so you know, I just wanted to mention that because, hey, you know, it was right after hearing sermons on the way there that I thought I'd just I want to make a video right now about how applicable this is and how God is touching at that very moment.
Well, it was exactly happening, so it was amazing, amazing. The other similar thing is that I was talking to a friend during the week and my sister. I had asked myself a question and I had answered it with Jeremiah 29:11 and it is just one of the verses that I often read here and I am going to read it very quickly because I know the thoughts that I have towards you, it says The Lord thinks on the peace and not in evil to give you a future and a hope and that is just one of the verses that I have carried with me throughout history.
You know, I know that God knows what he has planned. Me and I believe that that is a future and there is hope in that so I shared it with my sister and someone texted me during the week and told me that he knew the Lord put the exact same scripture on his heart to share with me and So again, in my opinion, it's just another example of God validating while we've been here in a supernatural way, so I just want to share that with all of you so you can see how He was moving here and then just I wanted to add. a couple more things about the story as we got into November, maybe late November, mid November, I mentioned how much difficulty I was having with the passage of time and everything, and I wanted to continue with the disability and at some point In that treatment I went to my employer and thought, "I don't think I can do this anymore." I can not concentrate.
I can not concentrate. I can't do the things I'm supposed to do the way I'm supposed to. I feel like I'm supposed to do them and then HR and my boss talked and basically let me go part time working half a day every day and they continued to pay me full time while I was going through it and that was probably for a while. month and a half or two months and once we hit the new year, you know, I tried to add an hour every week, you know, four and then five and then six and then seven. so when we got to our audit, you already knew I was working full time again and I've done that ever since, but I don't know if I could have done this if they hadn't done it for me and just folded. that understanding so I wanted to mention that and then I want to mention some stories while we were in the hospital having surgery so I said I was there like two weeks because I had two surgeries a week apart and my Aunt Gloria was down. before surgery to take care of the kids so my wife Dianne at the time and my mom could be at the hospital while I had surgery and then she was there for a few days and my sister would fly out and stay. the rest of the trip and then they were going to rotate shifts, like I think my wife would try to be there in the morning and my mom would try to stay at night and then my sister would try to help with the kids. during the day, but after two days everyone got sick except my sister because she had just arrived by plane and she had to stay with me 24/7 in the hospital for a week and a half or so and In the hotel the hospital rooms were not particularly comfortable, they only had a semi-reclining chair, you couldn't keep the legs of the chairs up, so she liked to prop it up with a trash can to try to sleep and every night , wherever our room was, helicopters were landing.
I was in the hospital all the time, so there was constantly that noise there, so it was brutal and they constantly had to take my blood to check my levels, my liver function, things like that, so they had to come at like 3 o'clock. in the morning and I did that every morning and then again at like 6 o'clock so I couldn't even sleep well at night because they came and they were poking me drawing blood and it was really really hard and part of the recovery is doing laps around the hospital wing and I remember my surgeon came to me one day and said, "I want you to do 30 laps today and it wasn't always comfortable after one of the surgeries, it wasn't." bad, but after one of them it was very painful, it was not a fun experience and I was afraid of it, so when he told me 30 I thought what the hell do you know and as we were walking around I realized that I kept a scoreboard where all the patients wrote down how many They went around and then that was what I had to do.
I had to be at the top of the lap list, you know, so I'm competitive by nature, so we started doing that. and then one day we would go to a cafe downstairs and just buy something or just walk around and change the scenery and one day we went down and kept going like we went out, we walked outside, in the hospital, we went. I went into Children's Hospital where they had Taco Bell and Pizza Hut and all the good restaurants are in Children's Hospital, so we went there and they had Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
We're from Vermont, so my sister had to eat ice. cream and everything and finally we decided we came back and we were gone for a long time and we went back to the hospital wing and everyone said where have you been we've been looking for you and you can't we just took off like that and we thought we didn't know we just went for a walk and during the The rest of the day we were like fugitives, you know, they bothered us all the time whenever we were there. I walked out like, where are you going?
You know and it ended up being kind of fun, but it was a lot of fun. Is there anything else? No, I think that was it. Oh, I didn't really want to say anything about the fries. over the past week, so today I had blood work done, almost all of my blood work was good, my sodium was a little low, my protein was a little low, but I'm on a restricted sodium and protein diet as part of the Gershwins at this point, so it was kind of to be expected, but the cancer markers that are tracking CEA, which is the one I'm most familiar with.
I'm not familiar with the other one's acronym, but they were both low today, so that's an encouraging sign that they weren't very low, but a little bit, so I'll take it and we'll do an ultrasound and more blood work this week, so there will be

on that as they happen, but the person who actually referred it. us to chips a family friend Jennifer she's actually here she arrived this Sunday and she's going to chips for rheumatoid arthritis which is something they're really branching out into so we got to hang out today just a lot. of great and fun people, it was a blessing to spend the night and day with them, so everything will be fixed and we will start with the surgeries next time, but I just want to fill in these gaps and especially talk.
About God moving in the last week and the way he spoke to us, so thanks for watching, see you soon, bye.
