Can I Beat Terraria ONLY Using Glitches?

Apr 19, 2024
Terraria can be buggy at times, but arguably the most buggy version of the game is the current update 1.4.4 point 9. In fact, it's so buggy that I thought it would be possible to

beat

the game just

using

bugs and not in the sense of speedrun as I use. them to

beat

the game faster, but instead of a game where I have to beat all the bosses by damaging them through a bug, get every item through a bug, and do everything else

using

bugs, which is exactly what this video is about before we start, although I'm I'm going to go ahead quickly and go over the rules for this game, but you can jump to the timestamp on the screen now to jump right to the start of the game.

First of all, each boss can

only

be damaged through a glitch, so I can't do it. Secondly, I'm limiting myself to a simpler version of the transmutation bug, so instead of being able to get any item from the start, I'll

only

be able to get specific items using specific gates, which I know can sound confusing. but I'll show you what I mean later in this video and lastly, since I can get good items through

glitches

, I'm not going to update my player at all just to try to balance things out with all that. To begin, let's start with the actual game.

More Interesting Facts About,

can i beat terraria only using glitches...

I created a secret 9th anniversary world just to make things a little harder for myself once I was in the world, though I immediately went into the desert and started working on finding everything I needed for the game. The first error in this video, which was the transmutation error. Now I won't explain it here as it can get quite complex, but it usually allows you to obtain any item in the game. However, for this game, I thought it would be too much. easy, instead I used a simple version that only allows me to get a set number of items with specific doors, which I know may sound confusing, but it will make sense here shortly, let's get back to the game now that I was able to get the materials I needed after carefully making my way through the underground desert next to a chest statue that will come in handy later, so I respawned to get the remaining thing I needed for this glitch, which was a natural spawn trap when I got there even though it was at night. time so I went ahead and built some NPC houses to kill time before eventually digging straight in to try and find a trap and ended up finding one not too far underground from my spawn location after doing the transmutation setup I went in to multiplayer to do the glitch and then back to the world in single player so I could start using it.

This glitch works by moving through a sprite sheet from whatever sprite sheet the door is on and we can control it by toggling the bass statue on and off, so in this case, since we are using a wooden door, we can get Terrablade Terra Prisma and Chronos Wings. There are about 100 different elements for each door in this bug, so while there are other elements we can get from a wooden door, no. I need either of them right now, as we need to move on to the other glaring problem in this game. This bug is great for getting items, but this specific version doesn't do anything to enemies, so we'll need something else for the first few bosses, which is where the god mode chests come into play, these are two chests that can't be found.

They can be obtained and they prevent physical attacks from hurting you, but they will not stop projectile attacks and they also freeze your character while eliminating any summon minions you have. It may seem pretty bad at first, but since it doesn't knock you off your mount, it's one of the few ways to damage things while using one of these special chests. The second God mode chest is easier to get, so that's the one I started working on. To get it I would need a meteor door since the Sprites line up, but instead of waiting for a meteor to fall, I discovered that if I got a palm wood door I could use it to get a meteor.
Furniture of the transmutation error. and then use it to make the meteorite door I needed. This was also when I realized that Shimmer was going to be a big part of the game, so instead of going straight to the meteor door, I wanted to get a glow cube so I could use it. in my base, but it was only accessible through a marble door and the only way I could get a marble item was through a shiny one. I passed through a boreal gate, so since I needed palm wood anyway I decided to go ahead and find the Aether biome.
First I got some boreal wood to get the marble item I needed and I also used the boreal gate to get a crown and a lava bomb we need for King Slime. After that, I went to the beach next to my jungle to start looking for shine, which I ended up finding pretty quickly after shining the marble object. I came home and bought my Shimmer cube. I made a small pond under my house, which ended up being very useful after this. I went down to my transmutation settings. I used my palm wood door to get the meteorite item made it glow and finally I used it to get the god mode chest at this point I started to prepare to fight my first boss which was going to be the slime king as We need his mount for the other bosses, so I used transmutation.
I failed to make a crown so I could create his generator and then went to the corruption biome I passed on the way to the beach to make King Slime's generator. Once I finally had it, I went back to my base to make my King Slime. I set it to be the god mode chest on top of some lava and then I started the fight, the chest only protects me from physical attacks but it also prevents me from attacking while I'm in the god mode state so that's where the lava comes in in play and after waiting a bit.
Without doing anything, the lava finally took out King Slime, but unfortunately I didn't get the main drop I was looking for, so I ended up having to redo everything and luckily I managed to take them out on the second try. Slime Mount is one of the few. mounts that deal damage and since the goth chest doesn't knock you off your mount, it's the perfect way to deal with the dungeon guardian. This isn't really a boss but I thought it would still be worth beating because I'm in the drunk seed the dungeon is underground so after finding it and dying a few times while trying to figure out how far I could get before it Guardian appeared, I had my Rift Chest ready to go, so I hopped on it while it was. also on my slime mount and waited while I dealt damage slowly and finally defeated one of them after an hour and 20 minutes after that the next boss I planned to do was Skeletron as we needed the mechanic for future

glitches

so First I got another chest in God mode, made more housing and finally returned to the dungeon.
Once it got dark, I tried talking to the old man, which didn't work very well, so after respawning I fixed the room where the old man was. the man spawns and since I had to wait a day for the old man to respawn, I spent the time getting other items using a living candy door. I can get the deerclops spawner along with a monolith which we will actually need very soon. for a money mistake and after I finished getting those items, the old man had already respawned, so I went back to the dungeon, placed my chest and started the fight until my slime mount finally finished him off.
Once I was done, I came back. house and made a few more NPC houses before heading back into the dungeon to find the mechanic, since she's the only NPC we desperately need to make this game work once she's moved. I used the transmutation bug to get two Terra swords very quickly and then went. I asked him to sell them and buy everything he needed for the next boss, which was Queen Bee. This is the only boss that can be attacked by Mimics and they actually deal a ton of damage to you for whatever reason, so that's how it was going to be.
Attacking her while she was in a chest in God mode to protect me from her attacks so I went to find a hive in the jungle and on the way I ended up finding a Cthulu spawner eye so I grabbed it because that's the boss I was planning on doing. after the queen bee and very shortly after this I ended up fighting a hive, so after going in and building my setup, I turned on the statue in the chest to mimic the spawn, went down to the hive to spawn the queen bee and finally went back to my configuration. where I waited until the impersonators finally pulled it the night after I got to Queen Bee's house.
I went ahead and did the Eye of Cthulu fight using the build I made for King Slime, since he can only attack through physical attacks and right after spawning. on a fallen star i ended up hitting him taking out most of his health so the fight ended pretty quickly after this the next two bosses i planned on doing were cthulu's brain and the World Eater but before trying them i wanted to keep going forward. and get a better mount so I can do more damage faster and luckily the Gelatinous Pion was something I could get. I could only get it from a lizard gate that you can usually only get on hard mode in the jungle temple, but luckily I can use a hoik to enter the temple right now, so after spending some time searching for the temple, I did the hoik to enter and then I died in a trap right after, but I finally went back there, got the blocks I needed and went home to do the Lizard Gates, the mount was pretty high up on the Sprite sheet, but after a while from messing up my clicks, I finally got it.
The next thing I wanted to do before the two evil biome bosses was get flares for a future glitch, but because there isn't just any glitch to duplicate any item you want. I was going to need a glitch of money to buy them, which is where the monolith glitch comes into play. This is a small glitch that allows you to quickly duplicate any monolith by turning it on and off and using the monolith we got earlier, I made the teleporter setup, jumped into multiplayer, started duplicating the monoliths until I felt like I had more than enough and finally went to sell them all to get the flares, after that I went to make Cthulu's brain and in my mind I assumed that I could use the god mode chest and more importantly projectile to Cthulu's brain so that it doesn't appear in his minions, so after breaking two hearts I started shooting the thousand flares needed to max out the projectile limit and finally once I was done with that, I broke the last heart that appeared in Cthulu's brain only to realize that it still could spawn in his projectiles, thankfully, though my chest in Monte mode and God was able to take care of it himself after a while.
This is where I went to beat the Eater of Worlds, but for some reason I realized I was missing the clip after finishing the game, so instead I beat the Eater of Worlds at the end of this game, but for now we are alone. I'm going to skip it now, the last boss I had to do before going into hard mode was the meat wall, but this was going to be pretty difficult compared to the previous bosses. To begin with, the glitch chest would allow me to stay frozen while the wall of Flesh passes by me, but it won't defeat it, it will just disappear, so since I was out of ideas here, I called Ethal since he is the person behind the transmutation error, as if anyone would know a good error for this. it would be him and luckily he did, he showed me how to make a machine that shoots rocks infinitely and because this is a glitch that he discovered and he's working on his own video specifically about that glitch, I'm not going to explain it here. but if you want to know how to do it, you can go check out Ethel's channel and see if the video he is looking for is available to resolve this error.
I needed another chest in God mode and a sticky rock and luckily I can achieve this through transmutation. Fail, the only problem is getting it. I would need a bone door and luckily I was able to get it by shining a bone. Furniture I got at a cactus store, so that's exactly what I did once I had the rock. I went down to the underworld. pouring Shimmer on myself and made a platform covering the lava with a glow, then I got to work on my Boulder setup and finally started the fight once it was ready, all I did for this was stay in the mode chest god who allowed the Wall. of Flesh walked past me without forcing him to back away in front of himself and then I had the rock machine deal the damage that allowed him to walk past me without forcing me to back away in front of him, finally taking this game to hard mode after this Before Starting to work on the mechanical bosses, I built a bit more and then used the transmutation bug togo ahead and get the celestial seal which I will use later since we won't be able to spawn Moon Lord the normal way afterwards.
On this I began to work with the mechanical bosses; the first one I was planning on making was the Destroyer, but I decided to go ahead and make all three generators since I was going to use the same setup on all of them for these fights. to use the rock glitch, the god mode chest with my mount and finally a new glitch which is the blood moon statue glitch. This works by using a bunnyfish or penguin statue on a timer during a Blood Moon which, for some reason, doesn't have a spawn limit like any other statue, so it eventually fills all available mob slots, which it means nothing else can spawn, so once I had the spawns I used the transmutation bug to get a bloody tiar and then went to do my build originally, that's how I thought of it.
It would be a good idea to do a new double Boulder machine setup on the surface, which honestly was probably the best option, but after messing up the mistake at the end, I decided to go back to the setup I used for the Wall of Flesh, so once I returned to the underworld to use the rock setup I already made, I started modifying it. I added the bunny statue setup on top, added another rock machine, a ledge for the rocks to bounce off and finally a goth chest in the middle and after that I finally started the first fight which was the Destroyer due to the bunny statue glitch that only spawned a small part of the Destroyer that prevented it from making probes that could hurt me even while I'm in the god mode chest, but the downside was that it took a while to defeat it since it was barely in the rock box while flying, but I finally got it after that.
I went back and got another bloody level and started the fight with Skeletron with the exact same setup, but this time it was a little faster since Skeletron would stay closer to me. This time the bunny bug prevented Skeletron from appearing with his arm as each one counts as an individual mob and since Skeletron Prime uses his arms to attack he couldn't do anything to attack me and luckily unlike the other fights of Mech in this video, this fight was extremely quick, less than 4 minutes to be exact, once I was done. Although in that fight I came back to get another damn level and finally started the last fight with Mech, which was the twins, this fight was not as fast as Skeletron Prime, but this time it was faster than the Destroyer, the statue glitch stopped to the second Twin. appearing, so I only had to deal with one of them, which again took a bit, since they both tend to stay away from you a bit, but anyway, like the other two fights, the boulders eventually came out.
They went ahead and won the fight and now that. All the mechanical bosses were defeated, it was time to move on to the plant for this boss. I was only going to use a rock machine along with a chest in god mode, so after finding a plant bulb after mistakenly falling into a puddle of water next to the jungle temple, I got to work on making the setting. First I needed to drain the water around the bulb and then I got to work setting up my Boulder machine since the plant will stick to your player for the entire fight assuming you don't move.
I only needed one. Rock machine setup right above a chest in god mode which is exactly what I built once I was done I went down to break the bulb and after having some trouble using the Discord rod to get back to my setup I was ready to sit down. and watch as my mount and rocks slowly defeated Plant, which only took about 5 minutes. The next boss on my list was obviously Golem, but instead of fighting him the right way, I wanted to make a mistake that would start changing the world while not. Super helpful for me at this point in the game, you can use the transmutation build on an alter to break it infinitely over and over again, which will in turn slowly turn each available block into a hardmode ore before doing the build, though I wanted to move forward. and I grabbed a Drill Containment Unit since I was going to be doing a lot of digging and luckily the mount is on the Slime Gate Sprite Sheet so I was able to get it pretty quickly once I went to my corruption biome. and started making the glitch configuration, the first thing I had to do was decide where my configuration was going to be and then, since breaking an alteration over and over again would generate a lot of wraiths, I had to clean the floor under the configuration since it would like to stay on the ground level and after that I was finally able to do the glitch itself which is just the normal process of setting up the transmutation glitch and now that I had everything set up for this I turned the auto click on and off and watched as it Slowly i turned my world into hardmode minerals and I mean slowly, very literally, every time you break a demonic alter, you will always get hardmode ore added to your world, but the amount of hardmode ore added each time will decrease with each alter. that you break, so At some point in this, I barely start adding anything to my world, but since we can break the problem super fast, it eventually adds up quickly, although I ended up dying, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but there was an eclipse solar. so after dying a few more times I finally went back to the faulty wing and smashed it over and over again for about an hour.
Once I was done, I explored a little underground to see what it did and that's when I realized that if I wanted to turn the entire world on hard mode or I was going to have to do this for over an hour, so I decided I'd go back to this after Moon Lord so I went back to work on beating the bosses and The next one I had to do was Golem, luckily since I needed a temple lizard door at the beginning of this play I already knew where it was so I went down there and finally entered the room with Golem.
It wasn't too much. Worried about this fight, I actually thought it was going to be one of the easier ones, since a bouldering machine would work great in the closed room where the fight was supposed to take place, so that's exactly what I went for. to work. but once I got to the step where I needed to Place Wires, I realized that I can't actually place wires in the temple until Golem is defeated, so I had to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new plan for the next one. . The idea was to break the left wall of the room using the Drill Mount, build a rock machine with a god mode chest just outside the left wall, and finally run to my god mode chest right after spawning in Golem, which is exactly where I left off until the rocks finally defeated him and now that Golem was defeated, we could go ahead and, quote, fight Moon Lord right now, but instead, we're going to go ahead and take out the three remaining bosses of the mode difficult ones that are not necessary to progress in the game. starting with Duke Fishron now, at first glance you might think this will be a very difficult fight, but if anything it's the easiest one since all we had to do was start a Blood Moon, use the statue glitch of the bunny to max out the mob limit and then try to fish out Duke Fishron, which will cause him to not exist at all, so his name won't even appear.
The next boss wasn't going to be easy at all, although which was the Empress of Light to begin with. I had to use a slime door to transmute the prismatic lace swing into a bottle and then throw it at Shimmer to get the prismatic lace swing on its own, then I went out to my sacred biome, placed a chest in god mode and started shooting thousandths flares to maximize everything. projectiles, which is kind of what I did in my Sky Block game, but when I spawned the Empress of Light I realized that she would never get low enough to be damaged by my mount, so after some replanning I decided to try the same configuration.
I had already only dropped two Boulder machines on top of me and luckily I already had to prepare myself when I went against the twins after redoing all the transmutation glitches, setting up the area under the Boulder machines and firing all my flares that I spawned on the Empress of the light again and the rocks were actually working pretty well for a while, as the flares eventually ended up disappearing, allowing the light ESS to generate some projectiles that killed me instantly, so I went back to the drawing board. I thought that since the problem. It was a matter of time, the best option would be to simply increase the amount of damage dealt to her, so I made five more Boulder machines to cover when the Empress of Light does her Dash and I also made another chest in God mode and I placed closer to the On the ground, this seemed to work very well until we reached the last part of his health, where he was again able to start generating his own projectiles because he got so close, although I decided to run it again with the same setup, but I continue. on firing flares so the projectile is always maxed out and that actually ended up working perfectly.
Now I knew that with past experiences with some of these glitches, Queen Slime seems to work differently for whatever reason, which is why I wanted to wait until later. Moonl Lord to do it, so I skipped it and started with the lunatic cultist fight. For this, I went to the tree above the dungeon and built a small house so I could teleport there after spawning the lunatic cultist, after that I installed a bunny statue. Glitch set up a chest in god mode and finally started clearing the area around my new spawn so I could set up a couple more Boulder Machines once I was done with that, though I did use a bloody tear, power up the bunny statue, and head down to start the lunatic cultist fight before using my magic mirror to return to my settings before showing this footage.
I need to give an epilepsy warning since my screen will flash a lot, so you can go to this timestamp to skip this part and go back to Now after starting the fight and going back to my glitch settings, I started to see how the rock I was slowly damaging the cultist, but I quickly realized that my build wasn't going to work for this and I ended up dying, so it's back to the drawing board. The only thing I could really think of was to add more Boulder machines, a looping teleporter system underneath them, and finally a Zenith so I can give the cultist a good hit when I start the fight.
Surprisingly, Zenith was pretty easy to get. What I did was use a palm wood door to get a steampunk piece of furniture and then I used it to make a steampunk door which is the door that lines up with the Zenith, after that I started setting up my new lunatic cultist setup which It ended up being a mix of teleporting hoes on the floor and ceiling and finally, to top it all off, I painfully made 20 Boulder Machines once I finished setting all that up and getting another bloody level. I waited until nightfall I turned on the bunny statues, the teleporters, the bouldering machines and finally started the fight but this setup also ended up failing again but it worked a little better than the first setup so I knew I was going in the direction correct, at least I decided to add more Boulder machines along with more teleporters and then tried running the fight again but this setup ended up being too good as I was teleporting too far from the cultist causing him to disappear so again I modified my settings by changing the teleporter settings to never be too far away and started the fight again this time, although it took a bit of time. while I was able to stay alive long enough for the rocks to take out the cultist, partly thanks to the game slowing down since there were so many projectiles and mobs right after I killed the cultist, although instead of the pillar appearing, They were automatically considered defeated since The Blood Moon Statue Rift reached the maximum number of mobs the game allows, so Moonl Lord began to appear.
Instead, my plan was to simply go ahead and die before Moon Lord and use the celestial seal to fight him since it was easy to overcome the transmutation. fails, but after he appeared I realized that my lunatic cultist build was apparently doing more than enough damage to him, so since I already had a celestial seal from the beginning of this game, I decided to try Moon Lord again without changing anything , I went ahead and got another bloody level so I could slow the game down again and once it got dark I started the lunatic ctist build and spawned Moon Lord before showing this footage, although I need to give another epilepsy warning here as I did I made it for the cultist fight, so if you want to skip this onesection of the footage, you can go to the timestamp that I have on the screen now, go back to the game.
Now the fight was a little faster than the cultist's, but not much more, as the damage actually slowed down Moon Lord's second phase. It also confuses me sometimes, as the constant white flashes from Moonl Lord's teleportation would mess with my muscle memory of when to move into a ho, but luckily, after a painstakingly long time, the last Rock finally took out Moonl Lord and while beat Moonlord, technically it means that we Complete the game using only Glitches without even upgrading my character like I originally wanted to do. I haven't fought Queen Slime or Deerclops yet and I still wanted to turn my world into mostly hard mode, so that's exactly what I have to work on.
Hi, I decided to start with Queen Slime and although I was originally worried about how I was going to beat her, I decided to use Colst's lunatic build again and although I died a few times, the rocks eventually claimed another victim, leaving only one boss. this boss is deerclops and you're probably confused as to why I didn't do this fight earlier since I did everything I could to get the generator and honestly I forgot about this boss and must have thrown away the generator at some point. Luckily it was a pretty easy fight with me just doing a single Boulder machine while having deerclops underneath it until the rocks finally claimed their last victim or at least the one that was supposed to be the last as I ended up falling into them right after. from this. and to finally finish this game as I mentioned before, I'm going to try to convert most of my world to hard mode.
The last time I tried this I only let it run for an hour and it wasn't enough, so this time I was just going to let it run overnight. I had to redo the setup since the issue is a one-shot type of deal, so I made the exact same setup as before, other than adding some blocks to my side so that nothing can pressure me. far from where I needed to click and then I finally started using the glitch and left it running while I went to sleep, once I woke up the next morning it broke almost 2 million Alters that unfortunately didn't completely turn the world into ore , but it changed a good chunk, which is a great way to end this game and surprisingly not the end of the game since I forgot to fight the World Eater again a day before this video was supposed to come out , the boss was super easy compared to what I had to do for the others with me just sitting on a chest in god mode while on my mount until my mount finally deals enough damage to win the fight and that concludes this video if you want see him.
Discover this world for yourself. I uploaded it to the Steam Workshop for Terraria, which is where PC players can find it and mobile users can find the world file on my Discord, but most of these glitches don't work on mobile, unfortunately. I also want to give another big shout out to Ethereal, as they have worked so hard to discover them and learn how to use them. Thank you for following until the end. Make sure to like and subscribe for more videos like this in the future and as always, make sure you get them. A wonderful day
