Lemon Hi Hat and Controller Review - E-drum Product Review - Electronic Hi Hats

Mar 17, 2024
Hello youtube, I'm justin aka demon sweaters, here is another

review

of an

electronic

drum

product

. Today we are going to take a look at this hi-hat and

lemon

hi-hat

controller

. You can get them on alibaba.com, that's where I ordered mine and they appear pretty quickly now the

electronic

limit symbols are actually quite nice. I already have two of them on my TV behind me. I have a tr trip symbol, a three zone trip symbol and then a two zone clash symbol here and I'm very happy. They work very, very well with them and my current hi-

hats

are Roland VH11s, so I chose them to try to see how they would compare to the VH11s and if they were as good as the other

lemon

symbols before I started.

Although if you like these types of videos, check out my record label, which is anthillrecordings.bandcamp.com, and the best way to support this channel is by buying something there, so that will help me a lot. I have two new CDs that just came out. one from demonic sweaters and one from my other project called mana soda, so if you pick up one of those, they are both very reasonably priced and will help me continue making videos like this in the future, so anyway, let's move on Go ahead and let's get started. Now, a couple of things I noticed when I first opened the hi-hat is that it didn't actually come with the clutch.

More Interesting Facts About,

lemon hi hat and controller review e drum product review electronic hi hats...

I had to use a standard hi-hat clutch here, however it comes with this little piece that connects to the bottom of a standard hi-hat clutch and when I first opened the package I didn't quite understand how to use it because it didn't come with instructions or anything like that, so I basically made a video as it was. doing that and I'm going to come back and show you basically how to put this all together and how to set it up and what my initial thoughts were when I first opened the package and just a little bit of confusion that I had about When I first opened it, the hi-hat

controller

on yes it is very nice.

This part is very, very good. I think it's very well done. It's got a solid metal base and a metal top here so it's a lot sturdier than something like a go e

drum

hi-hat controller, it's actually quite similar to the roland vh11 ii controller that I have right there and interestingly enough, It even says vh11 on the barcode, down here, but it's not the same as me at all. I have compared the two and they are actually quite different so I don't really know why they are printing vh11 on this actual controller, but hey anyway I don't know, it's a lemon hi-hat controller and that part of it is pretty cool, the top symbol is pretty decent too, however this really is the same as the other lemon symbols, like the normal two zone clash symbols they do, it's a little smaller than the other one I have here, which I think is a 14, I think this one is on 11 or 12, something like that and the only problem with this symbol is the way it moves when you hit it, basically, this inner part here is very flexible and tends to be pretty.

Very bouncy when you play the hi-hat and I don't like that very much. I'm going to show you what I mean when I'm playing, but other than that, it works pretty well, actually very well. I mean it works exactly the same as the hvh11. It feels a little strange when you play it because it has a lot of bounce, but anyway I'll show you the video I made earlier when I unboxed it and was figuring out the clutch and then I'll show you some gameplay so you can see how much it bounces when you play, although that hole doesn't seem big enough for our standard hi-hat clutch to fit through.
Will you just have to push it a little and then once you push it the rubber stretches enough to get through and it's actually not that hard? Then the other thing I realized and felt like an idiot afterwards is that this piece is big enough to fit over a hi-hat clutch piece, so basically what you do is force this through the cymbal and then use this as the bottom of the clutch and you have to get it there enough to tighten this little allen wrench right here, so to do that basically on my clutch, this piece is only long enough if I remove almost everything except the top washer and then what am I going to do?
It's actually a matter of turning the top washer so it has the big side facing the symbol and then putting the symbol on and then screwing on the bottom of the electronic clutch and then everything should be fine after you do that, but it was a little confusing. at first because I saw you know, I saw this piece and I was like what am I supposed to do with this. I didn't quite understand it, it didn't come with any kind of instructions, but if this works, it's actually kind of nifty and it's a lot simpler than the Roland version which has this complicated kind of special patented hi-hat clutch, while everything what you need is basically a standard hi-hat clutch and then the piece that send it along with it and you'll be able to make your own with those pieces so we'll see if it works well so once you basically remove all those extra pieces it will work exactly as I thought. and that's pretty cool, the only drawback here is that it really barely fits, you know, more or less space, this wouldn't work because one of the problems here is that when you turn the wing nut now it basically plays the hi. -There you can see it's actually touching the rubber but you can still squeeze it, it's not so bad that you can't squeeze it because it's flexible anyway so it should still work fine, uh and if you had a different hi-hat clutch that I had a little more of that, you know that tube than mine.
I think this is a tama or could be a replacement for Gibraltar. I don't remember, I only had one lying around, but depending on the type of clutch you have, it's possible. it has different mileage, you know, you know your cam, I don't know how to say it, but you know it may work better or worse for you depending on what type of clutch you have, but it works and as you can see, that puts it pretty flush with the bottom, which will allow you to press the hi-hat controller so you can see that the hi-hat moves quite a bit when you're playing and honestly, it's a little distracting.
I don't think I'm going to use this because I really like the controller part, but I need to find some way to make this stop bouncing around so much. One of the things I thought was that maybe I could get it. some kind of big washer to put under the clutch here and maybe that will keep it from falling out as much. The other thing I was thinking is maybe just replace the top hi-hat pad entirely and see if this is like an extra shock. pad because I think it will work well for that, but as a hi-hat symbol I don't really think it will work that well, so anyway that's my

review

of the lemon hi-

hats

.
I hope you enjoyed it. I think it's a decent purchase. A hundred dollars if you just want a good controller, I think it's worth it because this controller seems to work just as well as the vh11 hi-hat controller, so I don't really see much difference between them and I think it's a little better than the Go Edrum controller, so maybe they should offer to sell them alone without the top hi-hat symbol. I think maybe it would be a little bit better, not that it's horrible, but you know it's a nice symbol. It's very well made, it's just the bounce, maybe it won't bother you as much, maybe if you use lighter sticks or something, but for me it's quite irritating to play with it bouncing so much, it actually just vibrates everything. stand up and it drives me a little crazy so anyway thanks for watching everyone I hope you enjoyed the video don't forget to like subscribe comment below what you think about the lemon hi-hat or the lemon symbols in general and, thanks for watching, as always. have a great weekend hey you
