Apr 13, 2024
foreign 1999 the air was filled with gas and there was a spark and the spark caused an explosion and my 71 Hemi Cuda was on fire and it was destroyed the paint cans were exploding in the air and it was just a big fireball. I crawled through the door that had come loose from the building. I was lucky enough to be able to get out of the structure, but dealing with it afterwards has been a very difficult thing when I get the car

back

and it's finished, which will put an end to all this that I have. I've been through losing the car and the frame explosion and all the trauma that went with it, it's gone, everything is better again, it's more important to me than anything else in the world, you know, I just hope that people can enjoy it as it is and appreciate it.

Justin and the rest of the gyc ghouls are restoring, resurrecting and recreating some of the fastest, fiercest and rarest muscle cars on the planet. These are the graveyard cars. You all remember that a few years ago we took the 1971 Cuda which we called the Phoenix Cuda.

million dollar total loss back to life in brilliant 4k uhd...

This was and is the worst condition car we have done in graveyard cars, beating out our Phantom Cuda or 71 Phoenix Cuda burned to the ground. nothing was left of our Phantom Cuda everything that was there was never burned, everything we started with was destroyed that fit on a 4x8 trailer, we put that car back together against all odds, in fact, it was the car that launched the cars of the cemetery because people thought well we are going to remodel it, we wanted to document it, it needed a lot of sheet metal, no problem, the AMD Installation Center, in fact, Craig helped us, if you remember, that car was revealed to the world, that was a of our greatest revelations in the cemetery. car history we brought this car from absolute death to

life

again now the Phantom Cuda went to Switzerland and the gentleman who bought it is the same gentleman who bought our real loaded 1970 Cuda 340 Rear window of the car Rear spoiler with grille as well the one that got sabotaged by a person we will not name, poured sand into the engine, so the real question is who had access to the engine, who had something to gain if it failed, who had the motivation to sabotage it.

I don't know now, but I will know, I promise, I will know anyway when the Phantom might have appeared in Switzerland. I already had the other 70 Cudas. He took a video of it. Hi Mark, I'm Danny from Switzerland. Guess which Phantom Cuda arrived in Switzerland today? What a great moment. Check out the beauty oh my goodness she is so amazing thank you so much Mark I'm so happy greetings from Switzerland and thank you so much goodbye my friend here in the US who had an amazing story now it's starting . a new

life

there, so before the Phoenix scooter which was the worst car ever in graveyard cars when a car burns to the degree that this one burned, you know that all your 18 gauge sheet metal, your fenders, your doors , your hoods, the deck lid, the roof liner, they're all going to warp, but you have no idea what the full extent of the damage is: the reinforcement compromised the roof reinforcement infrastructure, the floor frame rails because if the metal of the car was melted and warped then it certainly could have damaged those things, although it may not look damaged it may have affected its structural integrity.

You also have the fact that when you look at the original pictures of this car, everything that was made of plastic or metal and and even metal in some cases melted look at the original pictures of those Front Park lamps that are hanging and falling, the plastic is It's falling out of them the casings that are made from a metal pot also melted go to the side markers all oozing go inside the car look the dashboard the steering wheel the heater box everything is made vinyl, rubber, plastic or metal leaked completely out of the car, so now you're talking about

ing a car.
We are talking about a

of 100 percent. With all that being said, the good news is that our Phoenix Cuda has returned from the ashes. It's in its final stages now to finish it up and get it back to the customer once we had the car here once Wendell dropped it. We immediately took it apart. Doug worked with Justin on some of the disassembly of that car. Once it was completely taken apart, two things happened. I sent it over and dipped it as it was dipped. I asked Doug to start working on the transmission because this thing had been sitting for over 20 years, so we were facing some real potential problems with it.
The window Hemi really had me worried. Not only was this thing burnt to a crisp and rusted beyond belief, but it was also still full of water from the fire. The department shut down the problem. My biggest fear was that we would have to reline all the cylinders and replace the heads. One of the best phone calls I got from the machine shop was that they said we could get away with a new gauge that was thirty thousandths in diameter. The pistons and heads were already rebuilt once I got the engine back from the manufacturer. I went straight to town on this, unfortunately we had to replace the intake, the carburetors, everything from the air filter, the oil pan on the outside of the engine, had to be repaired.
We replaced it but were able to save the engine so Mark and I ran it on the engine run stand and it ran perfect so we did the painting, final assembly, now it's in the car ready to go. The other concern we had, of course. What will this body look like when it returns from the Dipper pit? I was pleasantly surprised by my original instinct that all the sheet metal was destroyed, that was true, all the welds on the panels and bolted panels, like the roof. leather deck lid Hood fenders doors the side panels that were all destroyed balance out, but you get into the subframe and it was amazing that these floors looked like they had never had any damage, there were even original assembly line marks underneath that they had burned an impression into the floor so we replaced all the metal on the car, once that was done we were able to go to the body shop, that's where they smooth it out end to end, they pretty much have a thin layer of filler because you're wanting smooth this out and make it look beautiful, so we did it, we went to Will's apartment, he immediately went to work priming it, we do three primers and blocks on average to get it primed, sanded block, primed, sanded block, primed, box. finished when everything was done it is ready to paint this is gb5 it is not eb5 the difference is that B5 in 1969 has a different shade of blue than in 1971. e means it was introduced in 69 g it means it was introduced in 71. this is a gb5 car, did a magnificent job, landed which really gets us to where we are today the body, the paint, all those things are complete, the engine transmission, they are finished, it's time to do a final assembly . 1971, a car that combines rare beauty with comfort. and with as much performance capability as the buyer can handle, there's also a full line of engines: the 318 two-cylinder, the 344 two-cylinder, the 383 two-cylinder, the 383 four-cylinder, the famous 426 Hemi, and the 440 six-cylinder, which is Chrysler Plymouth.
More engine options than the competition now because this car is getting closer to the finish line and I have mentioned that I really like to participate in certain steps, not because I don't trust my guys but because I want my hands to have my DNA. I want my expertise to be on that car, so I wanted to work with Justin on some of the final assembly things, like the heater box installation, the dash assembly, the steering column under the hood, there's a half dozen of them. things that need to be Be prepared just to be able to work with them, so when Wendell says, Hey, what did you do?
At least I can say I did something so I get all the credit, which I don't mind doing just for the record. This is the heater box for our 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. I put these cars together all day so I didn't stop to think about how cool some of these features were on cars back in the day, even just the vents and controls on the Heater. They were very cool features these are our vent knobs, they're just a little lever, pull this lever, you can see all this movement here, so those are just our fresh air vents, this lever here, this will be our lever. temperature, so this one just swings back and forth and controls the amount of heat and air that flows through this lever here, this will be the defrost lever, our defrost cable and our heater control cable are mounted on the board, so they will connect to this once the board starts to rock in place, so you're going to pass it.
I'll grab it from the back and put the nuts on. Okay, there you have it, so things like the heater box and dash assembly are always there. It's good to have another pair of hands and another pair of eyes. It's really cool that Mark can take time out of his day and be a part of some of these builds. How is that? Yeah, well, I have one going right now. What's good when they go together like this oh yeah awesome okay to tighten so yeah go ahead now that the heater box is in place we can install the dash and again this is a good operation to have someone help you .
I bet you'll be happy to see this. in his car, oh I think he'll be excited, I can't wait to see him when the car is ready, oh yeah, it'll be Water Works if you ever get out your Kleenex because he's going to be crying, I can't wait for it to arrive. the billboards there are just to see the car done like before and after this pile of melted nothing, let's lower this, put it on top or bottom making a couple of adjustments here so the temperature dial then we can roll it into place, yeah. We learned that a lot of times there are other connections you can make, except the speedometer cable and things like that, a lot of times you have to pull it back out because you found something or something happens or you missed something, okay, here we go. okay I'm a little surprised at how well this car has gone because you were saying that even glass like this is the easiest glass you put on the car oh yeah it's just that everything has gone easier than I thought so because It was probably meant to be gotten, go ahead and make the bulkhead connection and we'll get the steering column in good shape. 1970 was the first year the ignition key came off the dash on Mopars. to the steering column, now the reason for this and I've talked about it before for those of you who haven't had a chance to see that they wanted to be able to block the steering wheel from being stolen was a real thing.
Back then they stole cars. He was gone in 60 seconds. The way they did it was through a series of connections. If you put a manual transmission car in reverse, it would turn a collar here and allow the steering wheel to lock due to a small pin. A boom comes out and locks on a yoke here, there you go, if it was automatic you would have put it in park, move it to Park, turn this locking collar, the steering column is a great idea, the problem with this was that there's a lot of link involved in that it's very mechanical in nature and they had some glitches 1971 comes they go we have a better idea so see how this one works.
I am blocked. I turn the key now look when I turn the key forward, what happens to? I see this lever appear there now that this has appeared it has freed up my steering wheel I'm driving around town everything is great go to the old Fine Arts Theater Rocky is playing if I want to lock that column and take my key out of that ignition I have to hold it down and back now I can get the key out, that's a significant change from the 1970 linkage model Wendell won't know what hit him next time we see him, okay, I don't have much now. of space because all the muscles in my arms get in the way of this brake booster oh that's what it is and not the Hemi, well the Hemi and the boost just make it too tight and then the size of my arms doesn't help uh, slow down right there, don't go crazy, okay, come in and turn it, no, you went crazy, turn it a hair to the right, literally, like one two, there you go and try not to go crazy, there it is you have, now you can enter. you lined up, yeah, it's okay, boy, everything's fine.
I love it, I love it when a plan comes together. I wish everyone was like that. Yeah, who used to say that to Tiny, who used to say, I love it when a plan comes together? Archibald there. he was an Archibald on The A-Team, what are you talking about Hannibal? Hannibal, so let's get this clear. I was born in '85 and The A Team came out in 1983. I mean, how the hell am I supposed toknow who Hannibalt really is? Twin Scoops are standard on Cuda, the Shaker is standard with Hemi, and this year it is optional with any Cuda model.
Those hood locking pins are standard on Cuda models and optional on any other barracuda. Optional elastomeric front bumper with a choice of six body colors for the front. and four body colors at the rear, hard throttle downshift is now standard on torque flight, a light tap on the throttle for maximum acceleration, the throttle is no longer needed to downshift to a higher speed low, naturally there is air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and power windows for Total luxury in a sports car after Mark and I put the dash on the car, he wanted me to install the exhaust system.
One of the things I really like about Mark's teaching style is that he likes to put people in different positions to give them experience and also find out where his strengths lie in this case. He had me work with Hunter, also known as Bubble Boy, as Mark likes to call him. This is our ECS exhaust system. There are factories nearby that you can learn about when it comes to curves. all the Kinks, if you see these flat spots right here, there's something really cool here. It was just a few years ago when Mark was teaching me the ropes of these ECS exhaust systems, how every bend and weld on Mark was intentionally done to replicate the factory OE systems, so Now here I am teaching the new guy the same thing sounds okay you want to grab one yeah grab the other one look at your head it should be good enough so the first thing we install is the H tube and then we just work our way around. towards the back of the car, I'm going to take this side so you don't want to walk away, that's awkward, yeah, okay, the next things we can access are the resonators, even the solder points that they have here. got the date codes for the 196th day of 1970.
So another cool thing they have is you know they got the pentastar yeah so you've known for quite a while uh yeah I've been friends with Brody since the fourth grade Oh. God, yeah, I didn't really know his dad that much until high school, okay, like junior year, I got pretty close, yeah, and then we've been like a family ever since, there you go, you have some really funny, embarrassing stories about he. no he dresses up as Santa Claus every year oh he loves getting some gifts for his kids yeah yeah my dad dresses up as Santa Claus every year for Christmas so I have to keep that tradition alive after installing the resonators and hang them in place.
We move on to the silencers. In the case of this system, the mufflers and over-axle pipes were welded together from the factory and that's how ECS does it too when I started here. Mark had me work alongside Doug for a while. Let me start. separate carbs oh yeah, there's no better way to learn how to put a car together than to just take it apart first. They all come as a single unit, so you have to be very careful not to scratch anything like the axle or shocks when installing them. Alright, so what we're going to do is slide in your hanger.
Okay, I'm there. The last thing we install before the tips follow are the muffler hangers. These are very adjustable pieces, so once you have the tips, you install the valance and sometimes the tips require a lot of adjustment to properly fit the cut out openings of the valance. The guys did a fantastic job on this. I looked at the images. I listened to Justin as he showed Bubble Boy what to do. It wasn't necessary to do what the clamps are like and all this, but when you step back and look at the underside of that car from one end to the other, you think it's 1971 again, that car was built in May of 1971, it feels like in May 1971, when you look at that beautiful OEM finish and that OEM appearance, that fantastic work overall, a good memory, true or false, the functional hood is standard on all Cuda models, if you think you know the answer, stay tuned after the break. to see if you are right, ready to see how dumb you really are, true or false, functional shaker hood is standard on all Cuda models, if you guessed false, congratulations, you are right, shaker is standard only on the Hemi Cuda, however, is optional on all other Cuda engine options, plus the Cuda 71 comes with two really excellent seating options: the 160-way driver's seat and the split-back bench seat with fold-down center armrest for those who travel long distances.
Amenities like these are hard to beat, the elegant Grand Coupe has special features. trims the standard 318 V8 engine and leather bucket seats as luxurious as any imported GT car on the road. So today we're going to put together the front grille, bumper and front balance assembly for the Hemi Cuda we've been waiting a long time for. This is great, incredibly awesome, the guys did a great job working together and installing the exhaust system on the car, so I want to give you something much more difficult, these things are pretty simple to put together, this is actually a very big of the car. the grill the front bumper the lower valance the parking lights all of that has five holes up here these are mounting holes right here there are three tabs on the bottom that they mount on as well, but we're going to mount the upper parts here on the In the center we have this one, let's go over here too, yeah, and then one on the side, like a 70, the grill would be like a mountain over here, oh, really, so yeah, they don't, they don't do that , then we have the background. tab down here, oh my gosh, on our center tab, okay, and then the grill is okay, let's lift it up there, just look at the side of that fender, the tab on the bottom, make sure it goes down, that bracket assembly help. guide him there a little better.
Start with our outside mounting holes, if you want, you can look in there, you can line up that spring nut and once you get started and you know it's in and that's it. plastic you don't want to just go crazy yeah no I don't like it just super cute okay yeah make it nice and snug where you know it's not going to come off it's a little bit harder to see these just a I kind of like butter, so this is your first Kudo, right, yeah, it's not really rusty, you're not going to destroy it this time, you're not going to put it together, yeah, it's nice.
I remember when Doug and I tore this car apart one of the The first thing we took off, oh really was the grill, actually most of it was melted on the front balance, oh boy, this poor car. Justin and I worked on disassembling this car in the past, absolutely everything was rusted or melted, every fastener. they were covered in melted plastic we had a hard time taking this car apart when we finally took it apart it all looked like a ton of parts it looked like a ton of boobs so let's put this bumper in there ok I'll just get the frame The rails on the inside of this they gave you Mark I got it showed from the beginning and works very well.
You install the rear bumper bolts first and then leave them loose. Then all you have to do is roll the bumper up and then attach the front one. It screws on and then you simply adjust its height and depth. The key to doing it this way is to limit the risk of scratching or denting the paint and it doesn't require any real physical effort to do it right, let's take that front balance and flip it. Okay, this is going to melt here on the lock bracket on the inside, yeah, and then these tabs are on the inside frame rails, okay, so we'll get them.
I'm going to put one right on this one in the middle, so it's a little bit easier for us, yeah, hold it a little bit, grab two bolts down there, stick your side in, it's a hard angle to reach, oh yeah, okay, if you can can you push yeah my way I just have to close that gap so working with Justin was like super fun and educational because it's like he has a lot of knowledge and experience so it's like he's learning, It's like a free education, but I mean, he calls me Hunter, someone like Knows My Name around here, so it's cute, so they call me bubble boy.
They call me Vinnie Barbarino and pretty much everything else in the world, but Hunter, okay, let's go okay, now we can get the inner frame rails, so just push them against them or these things kind of sink in the middle. so just push up, see if it lines up there, let's go to the front balance, there are some adjustments but not many, the fenders are flexible, they will come in to meet the valance or come out, if necessary, the vertical locking bracket sets your side by side. and the depth of the valance, once set, you can just adjust it and tighten it so everything fits better and then you have one more, yeah, you can't even see that there we go right, just make sure you have everything where it needs to be.
So I always tighten that one on the front first just make sure it's flush okay I'll see if I can get them yeah good luck yeah there you go come on that flows well now uh tighten the bottom one foreigner , so now these spaces are here. it can be adjusted with those frame rails, oh my goodness it's right there, yeah, there we go, we're going good, oh yeah, he'll be happy with that, yeah, it looks great, yeah, if you want to put that tape down, you can Take it down and take a look. make sure everything is good, we can have Mark and Doug put together the back of the car, yeah, let's stack mom's Mustang against the badass Barracuda and see what mistakes Ford has made, here's the front treatment on mom's Mustang, nothing particularly new, individual headlights are visible.
Through the honeycomb grille Relatively narrow bumper The evil Barracuda does it differently Dual headlights All-new grille with six center-facing scoop-style openings Deeper, stronger bumper protection Premium fuel efficiency engines deliver each three options, but mom's Mustang hasn't come close to matching The barracuda's 446 Barrel or the unbeatable Hemi comparing transmissions The barracuda's console-mounted torque flight has the gate-controlled antics that allows it speed up the gear shift, but the dead horse select shift doesn't have locking gates, so it can go into neutral or reverse and disperse the transmission slushbox Plymouth is coming for you with 71 Barracuda slim and tough like a should be sports car in Coupe Hearts Up and convertible torsion bar suspension handles power up to a 446 package turns crazy plum color come on Plymouth Barracuda I got you there's some stuff under the hood I wanted to take a minute and point out people who might be building one of these cars that are exclusive to the '71 model instead of say the '70 or the '72 three or four and also in that spirit I wanted to have some hands-on time under the hood with Justin so I met up with him and we put all the pieces together that remained and that needed to be placed under the hood.
This is the windshield washer reservoir. This is a replica and these are replicas of the original screws, so a couple of things is that this screw should have the washer built into it. I can't get it out of there, so number two Phillips is a flat head, three of them hold it in place. The good thing is that this Reservoir wallet looks identical. for a 1970 model, it's unique for '71, as you know, because of this dimple here in '71, the Cuda went to a headlight system, so when it went to a four headlight system it uses a mounting bracket that It keeps those headlights in place, that mounting bracket. it's got a bolt going through it from the inner fender right here, so it's got to have that provision when it goes in through that bolt, so I'll give it to you and let you put it in foreign emergencies next the way these things are sandwiched between Yeah.
Does the shroud have to go in and around the fan placed at the back so we can lower the radiator to the center support area and then we will bring the fan shroud forward and screw it into place while doing so? I would like to show you something here: this is a replica of a new radiator. Lynn Ray is the guy who makes them. Here you see the correct radiator pentastar 3443 959 and this is an internal supplier code. All this is new. This is a cool one, the 98th day of 1971. It matches the other dates perfectly because our car was built on May 19th.
Oh, I got you, yeah, give him a hand to put it down, yeah, okay, just little things like that make a difference when you put the car in place. together we already have the bottom bolts in place, yeah, well, okay foreigner, look that's what it's supposed to look like there, okay, I'll let you go ahead and screw that in, put the Shroud on and then the next thing what are we going to do. To work is the stamp of the horns and the drums, so now I think we can go ahead and put the horns on if you want, go ahead and grab them, put them on and after that we'll put the stampnow, let's see, so this is a replica, a nice replica of the seal that seals from the hood all the way up here to the center support right there, then these little clips push in from the rear sides like that, so that when it's all in place Instead, it is placed face down and backwards. that right there this one happens from the front, you know it's easy when you're building one of these cars, especially if you're at home and you don't have a hundred cars in the graveyard to look at or years of experience that you might overlook, for example, like the hood, the hood seal on the Cowboy, the hidden body numbers are or the radiator bracket for the hood seal, having it there, making sure it's the right part, very, very important, making sure the clips are accurate, not just any clip, not a Christmas tree clip, the plastic ones like GM car juice, but use the original ones with a correct finish, make sure the clips go in the right direction, the ones that should go forward and those who must go backwards. all those little details that you really need to get the book out, get out your Dave Weiss book and let's get the dough down, that's a replica of the 27 Red Cap group, another detail element that I took some bullshit on social media for and those things are the batteries we used well, if you go back to the early seasons of graveyard cars you will see that they were the precise batteries, they were replicas of the original Yellow Cab Red Cap batteries with grain cap, those have been on back order since always, anyone who has one of those cars now knows they've been waiting years to get one of those batteries, well they're slowly starting to arrive so in the case of our 71 Hemi Cuda we got a red cap and that's what you're watching. and put that bad mama jama in there so the 440 426 hemis got the red cap batteries, it was a 383 or a 340.
I think they got the yellow caps. These are replicas of the original battery. Hardware with the correct fasteners on top. The Barracuda and Cuda hardtops offer this optional bench seat at no additional cost with bucket. In the rear there is even a fold-down center armrest and with the armrest up there is room for three in the front. Mom's Mustang doesn't have that option and only offers bucket seats, but for an extra $76 you can get this molded plastic center console. The top works as an armrest, but the result is still a two-passenger seat with a permanent obstruction in the middle and you're still driving mom's car.
Mustang is trying to kill you with this optional instrument panel standard on the Boss 351 with gauges replacing the warning lights for oil amperage and engine temperature. These indicators are placed far to the right, the driver has to look away from the road and then lean over to read them. The sport barracuda's optional rally instrument panel has full instrumentation including tachometer, tripod, 150 mile per hour speedometer, and rally clock with seconds hand. and still keeps everything in front of the driver so his attention doesn't stray from the road Barracuda will let you live longer this is a real live Hemi brake booster you did a great job detailing it by the way thanks everything here is exclusive to a Hemi Car, this bracket, this bracket, everything you see is unique to the Hemi, look how this goes into the firewall down here, this would be a normal master cylinder because the Hemi is so tall that they had to lift the booster in the air, so now Look from here to the center of this point, they've lifted that thing four inches out of the way and it barely misses the hood at all, yeah, yeah, I was telling you it barely missed the stage.
Impression on the hood just so you could close it, but hey, I bet the impressions on all of them, although they wouldn't be unique to a Hemi, okay, although they took advantage of it, oh, okay, yeah, now they made the most of it. If you take a look at these Hemi cars, especially your e-bodies, look how close even after you've raised the brake booster all the way, look at that valve cover, the gap between the valve cover and the brake booster, imagine if that engine was reduced to three or four inches, you wouldn't even put the engine in number one, you certainly wouldn't remove the valve cover.
I have removed those valve covers on the cars and even with the prop relocated it is difficult for the engine to be wide, they call it an elephant for a reason. All of these Keepers here are new breeding Keepers. They are the outer nut that holds these wire brackets in place. All the nuts are new nuts with washers and yeah guys remember this car was burned to a crisp this is all its original stuff yeah so I mean he liked some phenomenal detail work on those things this is definitely one of the worst power brake setups I've ever had to detail, good thing it was all there, just a roasted brake booster, you pay a pretty penny for this setup on eBay right now.
I bet you get a pair of Grand 2500's just the way you got them, maybe 35. just for a brake booster for this setup omg oh yeah they are outrageous they don't replicate the brake booster so if you want the right one for the car , you will get an original. Turns out Windows goes back to the original footage, it wasn't as pretty. It wasn't that pretty, that thing needed everything, so what we did was once we took the booster apart we sent it to Booster Exchange in Portland, they took it apart and sent it back to us.
We had to replace a bolt because it broke. Because of the heat, when we took it off, it seized up along with the nut, so we had to replace it, but we also did a bunch of body work on the exterior casings, then we painted it and sent it back to them, they finished rebuilding it and got it . back and did the right thing by having the gasket in place yes, the gasket should be yes, another small point of detail. I see a lot of car shows that do a good job of detailing everything they don't realize is that the master cylinder was attached to the brake booster when they were painted from the factory, that's fine just a quick little note is that the foam gasket that should being there between the master shows the brake booster, the entire unit, the brake booster and the master cylinder were painted as one unit, okay?
I'm lined up with the holes I could have to get some couple love Touch this back this way you want it back you want it completely now, though yeah, but yeah, that works good, perfect, yeah, cool, so the lines that we that are using right now, these are inline tube brake lines, so we don't talk too much about all of our brake lines because it's more boring, I mean brake lines, right brake line, but it is very important when you place them. that they go where they're supposed to go that the containers are where they're supposed to be you open them you unfold them at certain flex points when you unfold them at those flex points you need to make sure that the trajectory of everything is correct, so in this case the brake lines that go all the way to the master cylinder literally when Justin and I put that in place he already had the lines there all I did was roll them up about an inch and they literally fell right into place. that are supposed to drop, let's see if you were paying attention, we know the Ford Mustang is no match for the Bone Barracuda's bat, but what it has in common with our evil fish is that it has the same engine, the same horsepower and the same 150 miles. speedometer per hour or they are both cars I think you know the answer stay tuned after the break the foreign Mustang has in common with the 71 barracuda the answer is that they are both cars that's right the Mustang is a poor attempt at being a muscle car modern and has a tiny engine that produces no horsepower and the instrumentation will make you crash and spend the rest of your life driving a pickup truck with a ramp that you drive with your teeth.
Plymouth makes it, plus the brake pads on the barracuda are bonded. Mustangs are riveted. which won't matter since you'll probably be dead trying to read the oil pressure gauge sorry, bonded liners last longer Mustangs Liners wear away to expose rivet heads, brake drums can become scratched and will require auto refinishing versus auto Barracuda starts at a lower price and maintains a price Advantage model by model and you will get more with a barracuda literally literally fell well I mean when I put it in there the two lines fell on the master because I pre-installed it yeah someone terribly good In these things God, that is beautiful.
In that beautiful thing there, we are doing well. I've already started, you can squeeze them whenever you want and not bleed. Oh, good job, that thing stays up high or your stuff up there is miles away, I mean. that's almost as tall as the cow yeah this has to clear it up and even then you have about an inch you have enough room to remove the valve cover without removing the brake booster you know Justin's Point here on how tight that is if you look at the brake booster where it locks into the gap and you close the hood, I actually took a GoPro and did this, you can see there's no gap there, there's nothing if that master cylinder flexed in.
All of which it doesn't, or if the brake booster or the hood caved in it would hit, that's how tight it is, whereas if you do it in a normal car you can put your head there between the two, maybe that's an exaggeration. But you get the point, it's very, very tight, so we're taking an original dated wiper motor. Is this the one in your car? Or do we find one because it's yours? I think we had to find a dated one for him. This car was built in May of 1971. That's when the car was actually assembled, so if you look at this rebuilt wiper motor, this one is variable speed, it has the correct part number here, look at this lower number one one six one . stamped day 116 of 1971.
That means it's actually built for a G Series car and now again we're back to making an OE car, fix the wiper motor with the correct date there, something that precedes the car over time enough to make it feasible. day 116 in 1971 makes this predate the car by a few months and makes it the exact and correct original replacement for the one you had because yours was badly baked by the fire, yes it was very warped. I think one comes from below and the other. It's coming from above, oh if I could, maybe you just have the go-ahead, we'll just need to gather three more of those little necklaces and I'll show you what they are in a minute, okay, something to show you here is him.
I'm going to put the ballast resistor on these are replicas, they have the cadmium gold redone. Well, these are new supports. I have a cadmium gold plating on them. Original ceramic replica. This is identical to the one that would be on the car originally. The most important thing is at any time. you're hanging your firewall on things like starter relays, ballast resistors, voltage regulators. Look, this little bolt has a zinc finish and there's a little fisherman's anchor right there. It has to have that to be a stock firewall or internal fender. Hell, I know some of you get turned off when we start talking about nerdy stuff, but the fact is when it comes to these cars and the level at which they want to make them, it's very detail oriented and these are the little details in those where the devil is.
The details that mom used to say, that they never understood what that meant as an adult, I think I'm starting to understand it because remember he was very detail oriented, Tony and I've always suggested that he's the devil if Look at one of the logos originals of the devil, it's Tony's face.
