Mar 20, 2024
Hello everyone and welcome to the channel, so today we can take a look at the

2023

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. A big thank you to Randy Marion Chevrolet for providing me with this powerful car today. Make sure you visit our website, that link is in the description. So, the Camaro you see behind me is finished in black and we'll go over the MSRP once we go over all of these specs and features and get this powerful car on the road, so let's

start

with what powers the ZL1 below. under the hood is the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 mated to the six-speed manual transmission, makes 650 horsepower, 650 pound-feet of torque, that power is sent to the rear wheels, weighs just under 4,000 pounds, will run from 0 to 60 in three and a half seconds with a top speed of just under 200 miles per hour, it also has a fuel capacity of 19 gallons, you'll expect to see around 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway.

It also has a wheelbase of 110.7 inches, its overall length is 190.2, it has a width of 75 and a height of 52.9 inches. As we move on to the exterior styling, now for this Camaro with the ZL1 package it definitely gives it a very aggressive front design, we'll get

start

ed. Out with the Chevy bow tie badge right in the middle which is hollow to give it a lot more cooling along with the rest of the cutouts in the upper section and then the lower grille has pretty much all the cutouts you need to provide. More cooling, there are even open air intakes on each side with part of the DRL down to provide much more cooling and the lower splitter protrudes a bit.

More Interesting Facts About,

It has the body color on this model, but it gives it that aggressive look and with the LED headlights. and the drls which have a similar design to that center grille, very narrow and wide, they match very well with more of that body work just below them, they match the lower splitter with a shelf and in the lower section, from time to time when, very nice lines running down the hood with the carbon fiber hood base basically right in the middle with the ZL1 badge. This is also a functional heat extraction vent so airflow can go through the bumper and up over that very subtle carbon fiber design as well with the black and then red exterior.

The tow hook is on the passenger side now as we move to the side it has a set of 20 inch wheels they are 10 inches wide in the front and 11 inches wide in the rear a gray Very nice dark with a multi-spoke pattern. well and this even has the Brembo brake calipers there are six pistons in the front and four pistons in the rear as you can see the rest is pretty much blacked out with the window tint all black trim surrounding the windows and there is even a carbon. fiber trim piece which is a replacement part for this particular model on the inside of the mirror cap.

There is no sunroof for this model, but it is even finished in black. I think it looks great, it makes a lot of these lines pop, especially that line. on the lower section of the door, one just below the door handle leading up to another just above the gas cap and then we have a slightly wide rear fender to accommodate these 325s for the rear tires now on the En The rear has a fixed trunk-mounted spoiler finished in black. There's a light right in the middle with the Chevy bow tie right below it. It has LED taillights with that 3D design that is very classic for the Camaro.
You'll see the rearview camera along with the parking sensors and the quad tip a dual active

exhaust

the ZL1 badge is also down and we'll get this started in just a second you'll hear how good the ZL1 sounds so let's move on to the cargo space where I can use the button on the keychain or the hidden button underneath to open this trunk, which is very handy now, as you can see, I have some items in the back, they will give you a good perspective of how much can fit in the back here, even You can fold the back seats down too, so that gives you a lot more space now.
The only thing with the Camaro is that the opening is a little narrow compared to the amount of space you actually have here, so you can move some items around and as long as you can fit them through this opening, you definitely have a lot of room. Now there's no grab handle on top, so I can just grab the trunk lid, use the spoiler there, and I can close it easily. and as we move inside, you can use this silver button to open and close the door. It would be nice if it was blacked out just for personal taste and then for this interior the door panel is completely covered in Alcantara with everything from the red stitching to the window that controls the side mirror adjustments, the Bose audio, even the memory seat adjustments and a carbon fiber trim piece that surrounds the lock and unlock release handle, there's also a little bit of storage on the back of the door there and then they have a trunk release button a beautiful door panel complements the leather and Alcantara seats very well these are Recaro bucket seats with the ZL1 badge all the red stitching they are also automatic seats and then Camaro is written on the door sill now let's work our way to the rear seats now you're not buying the speed of a full four seater vehicle, but to be able to access the back you have that tab there for the backrest and then from there I can move this seat forward to give me a little more legroom with five foot ten.
I can crawl up to these back seats where you have a wireless charging pad right in the middle, as you can see in the passenger seat, all the legroom in the back is a non-existent tent. and my head is against the ceiling so, like I said, you're not going to buy this to be a full four-seater, but if I had to be back here in the city for five ten minutes, something like that, you have that ease of use, you also have much more. interior storage and then with the backrest folded down of course you have a lot more interior space so I like to see that the whole piece is one section and you still get the same attention to detail with the leather and Alcantara, very nice to see.
That's a bit of a pillow, but you have good visibility on both sides and there are some speakers back here along with the little armrest as well, so if you have passengers in the back seat, they can move to the back and then from there. You can slide this seat back and start looking at this beautiful interior so you can already see some of the red accents that are not factory, so they were added. You can see them on the matching rev paddles on both sides and then this also has Alcantara for the steering wheel with more of that red stitching the ZL1 badge and a flat bottom design on this left side you will see all the cruise control settings along with button on the heated steering wheel and then on the right side you can use all of this for that gauge cluster so let's fire up this ZL1 with my foot on the brake and clutch let's bring this to life and in the gauge cluster the attack is on the left side, the miles per hour is on that right side and then inside the LCD system in the middle, the top section is fixed so you will see the fuel level along with the engine temperature and vital signs and Below you can see a lot more information, there is the miles per hour, you can see the trip information and you can even go to your fuel range, your instant fuel economy and look at some other vital elements including the TPMS so you can monitor everything that.
There's even a blank page too and then when we go back to miles per hour you'll also notice that there are some arrows where you can reset everything just by pushing it to the right and if I go to the left now we basically have the home screen so I checked all of that information, you even have a performance that you can analyze so you can monitor all of these different vital signs. Depending on what you need to see and what you're doing during the day, you can look at your limited ticket and again you have all of these vital elements there.
If we go back, there is also audio, you can also enter the navigation so you can pull up the turn by turn directions along with the compass, look at your phone and see the different options that you have home control that you can enter and your units to everything else, so it's good that you have that amount of adjustability within that core system now on this left. On the side you will also see the head up display settings so it currently shows miles per hour along with the attack, it can be a little difficult to see that it also shows the GeForce meter and if I press info I can change it to miles per hour. time and showing the audio as well.
I can raise the compass and then we'll get back on that course. I think you'll be able to see it, so you have some different settings. There's also an air vent with that really cool red trim. The gauge cluster layout also covers the gauges there and then right in the middle we have the touch screen system where you have a lot of information to

review

, so on the home screen you have these icons like your phone, your audio, Android, Auto, Apple carplay. You can access a few different apps that go to your climates, even the interior ambient lighting, so I forgot to mention that it's all over that strip around that decorative piece, so you have all these different colors to go into, you also have Spotify where you can access it and then if you go over to this side, we have the split screen for the audio and your phone and then in the bottom section there are shortcuts to your weathers so you can quickly access them and adjust all those settings to get to your Navigation or your compass at that time we also have music and phone so you can adjust them quickly.
There is now a physical button for home that you can easily press along with the power volume for radio tuning and then a back button and then below that. This has heated and ventilated seats so you'll see those adjustments on both sides, there's even the temperature dials and to control them you just turn the vent back and forth so you can quickly adjust that's great to see that integration. fan speed where you want and the rest of the controls are well laid out now the hazard control is right on the bottom section of both air vents and then for this 6B manual the entire shift boot is finished in Alcantara yes Push this all the way to the right and up, that's for reverse, so you see the rearview camera up here.
You can turn the guidelines on and off if necessary and then we go back to neutral, now behind there is traction control and the different driving modes, so this one has sport touring, there's also a track setting and then snow and ice, so that if you plan to take your rear wheel

drive

Camaro into the snow, you can put it in that configuration if necessary, there is also a 12 volt. two cupholders with more ambient lighting and you have the center armrest with a bit of storage space. There are also two auxiliaries back there if you need to charge electronic devices.
The glove box now has a good amount of space. There is more Alcantara on the airbag cover. just a beautiful beautiful interior for this spec and then up top are the roof lights along with some call buttons and this even has the camera for the rear view mirror in there so it's integrated into the back of the shark fin antenna so you can see. out that rear window right now, however, when you raise it, you have virtually no blind spots, it gives you a 180 degree view of what's behind you as we get behind the wheel of the all-new Camaro ZL1, this one has a point of departure.
MSRP around 67,000 for what you get with the ZL1 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. I don't think you can really complain about that price now that I've seen some other comments about the Camaro with the interior, maybe not. be as up to date as possible for that money and honestly I think you're getting a great interior for this type of vehicle because let's face it, most people who buy the ZL1 want that performance, they want all that power, they want this

exhaust

noisy. We also have those Pops, so you buy it mainly for its performance and what it is capable of doing.
So, here we can give it acceleration. Now we have the r triple Eights on the back of this model. Give us some extra traction with that rear-wheel

drive

. Yes, you are buying this because it can be a track monster. It may be a back road type of vehicle, but it's also comfortable. It can also be a good daily driver. In Tour mode, the exhaust becomes much quieter. You can take it wherever you need it, so for around seventy thousand dollars you're spending more than obviously a basic Camaro, whereyou could probably get one in your 20s, maybe maybe they're in your 30s now somewhere around there, but again you're getting the performance, the brakes, the wheels, the suspension, you can also get the ZL1 with the 1LE package, for which the 1LE will give you even more benefits than this. at least so let's call this 1LE standard or base uh because now you have a lot of room for others when it comes to a three point turn even with a manual here it's actually pretty decent steering it's pretty tight here , which is what a car like this would want.
I love the way it sounds. One thing I will say, although I'm not a big fan, are the paddle shifters on this model. We've got upgraded pedals to make them a lot bigger, but they're just for your rev matching so you can use both to activate the active rev matching so you can use any kind of redundant to still have those paddles like that, but they're there, you can use them. if you want the pedal box For the accelerator pedal, the brake, clearly I can touch both with my left foot and then obviously I have the clutch so it's easy to accelerate, but if it's not something you know how to do or are learning To do it.
You can put it on if you want, okay, here we go, we get some Pops in that. exhaust guy, does that sound good? This is a really fun muscle car to drive of the three. I think this is probably my favorite. I don't see many Camaros, so I like the weirder factor they have in comparison. For the Mustang or Challenger I just don't see many Camaros and to me I think they sound better. I think this is a very good option, it's very very practical, it has a good amount of space and with smooth acceleration, this thing has a lot of power and we get some pops from that exhaust.
I'll try to do it once we turn onto this road so they explode more, but from this angle you can also see the camera system on the back. The rearview mirror is incredibly useful for this now, as I said before, visibility is not that difficult. I have an R8 and it is much smaller inside than this one so I have no problems with visibility. I wouldn't let that stop you from buying the Camaro. because the more you drive a vehicle, the more you understand, you know where your blind spots are and where you should look, so yes, I love this interior with all the Alcantara, it looks so good and I think for just under 70 grand you have a lot. of good materials to give it that exclusive look and now you have this exhaust ready, here we go, uh, that doesn't go out of style with that supercharged V8, but let's give it another acceleration here from first gear, here we go, don't be the most aggressive guy, that sounds good?
I will say the shifter is also very notchy and I mean in a good way I really like how engaging it is to shift into the next gear so you know you're in whatever gear you go in so I love how has. A short style clutch pedal is super light so you could drive this sports car daily and have a nice all round vehicle if this is your only vehicle, like I said it's pretty practical for the amount of space you have. this and it's not very loud, I mean, you can hear, hopefully, you've been able to hear the pops and stuff from that exhaust, but it's not as loud when there's a drone or you just don't want to drive it every day, I think.
It's a good tone to be a daily driver and have fun as you want with the spirit of driving this car, so I think it's a very good combination between everything. One thing I also wanted to talk about is the gear shift. So I'm going very, very slow in first gear and it will actually pop up on the screen to show you that you can go from first to fourth to save on your MPG, so it's actually telling you to skip gears, but now it's not. . lock you out of second gear like some of the Camaros I've seen or, sorry, Corvettes I've seen where it will actually lock you in and when you go into first gear it will push you into fourth gear, so that's something this vehicle will tell you what which you should do depending on your driving, so I'm going very very slow right now, so you want to go at a higher speed to keep the RP PM range low.
It's interesting to see, we just have a lot of comments on it. Skipping gears Chevrolet actually has it built into some of their manuals for better fuel efficiency and with one last throttle we're going to finish today's

review

here and I think that'll wrap it up once again for the
