Look at all those people heading to Critter Country just like they did in the summer of 1989 1990 91. when Splash Mountain was new and now all the rage here at Disneyland. Maybe because it feels like I just went down Splash Mountain in Florida and had the whole closing day

or maybe it's simply because this is my home, Splash Mountain, and I haven't just been on this 8 billionth attraction. times in the last 34 years. of my life, but probably 50 times this last winter alone, but this farewell feels much more informal, the closing of Disney World felt like a carnival party, no one was mourning, it wasn't like a funeral like I said, it was like a party to say goodbye to an old friend and what I learned at Walt Disney World and what I'm already seeing here today is that Splash Mountain and I have many friends in common.

I guess check this out right after the park opens. It's pretty quiet here. Crater country, but this line, the line for Splash Mountain already extends from the park to the front of Pirates of the Caribbean. Would you look at the size of that crowd? Now let's compress. Now I'm wearing these ugly tan pants because they dry faster than jeans, the same ones I wore on Splash Mountain at Disney World when that closed and I'm going to be totally honest with you. I'm not above cheating, so Ally and I bought ponchos. Part of you wants to say no, I'll just get wet.
