trucking across America solo - 16hr drive

Mar 21, 2024
Alright, I'm in Denton, Texas. I have to travel here through Illinois and through Indiana to write about this. It is very close to Toledo. It's called a lucky Ohio. It's a two-day trip. It has more than a thousand miles. 1145 crazy miles and they just finished, they gave me the green light so I'm ready. I finished charging it and they are actually very fast. I've only been here like an hour and they already have this whole thing full, which is amazing because I remember before at a certain company that I won't name, it took them 10 hours 10 hours to load the trailer, it was ridiculous, oh man, it's barely even full, that's why eh, that's why they were so fast.

I need to put it. put straps on it here, otherwise while I'm driving the whole thing bounces around someone. I have to put a strap on that, uh, but first, oh foreigner, I haven't had a route this long and probably since I started traveling in trucks. I remember the biggest load I ever got was like over 2000 miles from I think it was Montana to Indiana. It took me about four or five days. It was crazy. One mile. Turn right onto i-35w. Here we go. The good thing about getting deliveries is that they are huge. I usually get deliveries that are about 400 to 500 miles long, but with this one they give me a lot of time to deliver because it's such a long delivery that I have so much time to

drive

when I want to be able to schedule my work days, which is fantastic, so I'm going to

drive

from 1 a.m. m. to 1 p.m. m. or maybe midnight to noon, that's the time I like to drive because there's no one on the road, it's just quiet.

I usually like it when I'm on the entrance ramp. I like to stay steady at 20 to 30 miles per hour and during that time I'm just looking at the road waiting for an opening and then as soon as I see, you know.

Oh my god, this is the reason why I like to drive at night, these idiots, oh my god, so yeah, like I was saying, this is how I like to drive, like seeing how everyone is in a group there, everyone They are grouped. I like to slow down. 60 usually 64. and then everyone just passes me and then I rev it, turn on the turbos and fall behind now I have to wait like a damn 10 minutes for the cars behind me to pass and then I can pass.
I have to be the last one. one to pass otherwise the cards behind me become patient and then as I pass there is a small gap that will cut me off and then they will cause an accident like now come on white car come on pass no. Continue on I-35 North for once. something is trying to ruin me wants me to go south to go north he wants to take no, no, I'm at our weigh station, the sign said to go into the weigh station even though I have 15,000 pounds of stuff in my trailer.
I mean, I'm as light as a feather. I like your reference, I think 45,000 pounds is the maximum amount of stuff you can put in your trailer and be a legal weight. I'm £15,000 so it's like why are they why? I'm being attracted to why? Well, that was for no reason. I have to figure out how the hell, ah, there's an opening, see, there's no one, this is the biggest opening, here we go, that's another reason I drive at night now. because those places weigh stations are not open, that's why many truckers drive at night. I don't know for sure, but it's supposedly rumored that truckers who exceed the legal weight of 80,000 pounds or just don't do it. they want to weigh themselves and stop at a truck stop and get on those scales to make sure they are legal they supposedly drive at night because those places aren't open and that's why they don't get a ticket, that's just what I heard, although I don't I don't know , the only thing I will say is that I see a lot of trucks going 80 miles an hour and 65.
At night, that's all I will say. I do not know where I am. A GPS ran me off the road randomly. I am now in a very small town, Farmland Place. This is a very small town that lives within a half mile. turn left onto West Hall Avenue and then take the third right into the damn center of town. I think the GPS wants to take me on the scenic route, okay, which I don't mind like that.
This is great, it's interesting. What's that? a cook from a flower shop, Carson sales service, oh my God, it's an old-time appliance store, oh my God, you don't see those, we don't see this and there's a policeman right behind me, then take the third on the right. The GPS tells me to turn left here. but there is a policeman behind me. I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to go down that way, so jaywalking, you're at the jaywalk right in front of a cop, arrest him, dress that foreigner and then take the first right, I think that this the guy wants to stop me he's trying to find something I can do wrong we'll probably do it because I'm just a truck going downtown probably the reason he's following me is because oh don't tell me those are the lubs I was supposed to stop at maybe that's why he brought me here.

He wanted to take me, go ahead, I see you keep going, he took me down the back roads into a traffic jam, I need to cut in front of someone, man. New truck, although I got behind this guy who was in the worst nightmare traffic for a trucker, this is a uh, well, it's not a new truck, but like new to me, I had to get rid of my old truck because that thing was having trouble with the electrical wiring aligning the trailer so I Finally said effort just turn it on so this one has 57,000 miles on it it's pretty much the same as the other one and it's the same 2022 Kenworth T680 it's the same but I don't know if it's me or maybe it's coming after the holidays. to Las Vegas and I haven't driven in a while but the engine brake on this one like you know what semi trucks were like when they break them down that to me sounds louder on this one maybe it's just me or maybe it's because I finally cleaned up my Ears, but I don't know, it makes me feel manly, but we don't need a destination, let's go wherever the river takes us.
Crossing the country, letting go of everything but ourselves. If we hold firm, we can chase the Mississippi through the night. miles away why do you say the truck stop is fine? Oh, there's a sign.
