from the NES complex here, if you're new and what little entertainment information, nostalgia or fun, subscribe and ring the bell, otherwise let's get into this, Empire Strikes Back, this is another game I made in the Is It Fun series. It's one of the first times.

I think this might be the first time I've put on some kind of costume or whatever. Maybe I'm just not very good at video games. It was fun to recreate Darth Vader. voice and stuff that was way

fun than playing this game, isn't it great, it's Star Wars and for some reason most licensed games suck. I don't know why, oh, you have some sound effects like a tauntaun breathing, so one night, Aaron Ricky and I went to Lost Levels in downtown Fullerton, it's a store owned by a friend of mine, Steve, and we bought many things.

These are just typical black box games, there's not much to say about them, they're arcade esports titles. They're very early, so they don't have many of the bells and whistles of future baseball, football, and tennis games, but they're still arcade simplicity II and there's still something fun about them, and I personally like all three. decided to focus on black box games and Capcom games mostly black box games that they are known for that cover, the black box obviously the way the name of the game appears at a slight angle and then the image on the front is very pixelated, well the story behind it, at least what some people say is that because of the video game's failure and how parents didn't trust the games, they would buy something and then put it in the Atari and it didn't work.

It looks so cool that Nintendo wanted to send a signal, this is what the games look like, it's reliable, you're going to like it and I think I personally think it looks cool, Jayram, so it came as a bundle with the Nintendo Entertainment System with Honestly , Rob is a bit of a crappy game, you play it as an old guy controlling the Pistons and you don't even need to control him because Rob will do the job very slowly for you. I often think about that commercial and wonder what Rob is thinking as he stares at that screen if he knows the game isn't that fun because it isn't.

I also chose Megaman for now, this is quite sad, but at one point when I started collecting I got Megaman 4, 5 and 6 with booklets in perfect condition for $35 on eBay and then when some difficult times came in my life, I sold them for 5 and 6 because 1, 2, and 3 were the ones I really had when I was a kid, so I sold this, but when I went to Lost Levels I saw it and you know, I like pristine things. I like things perfect and this was minty and beautiful. I mean, it was so big I could eat it, but it would probably damage the label, but I could eat it.
It's so clean it belongs in a game room. I liked the fact that it added cargo capacity to your Buster. I also liked some of the enemies like the toad man and the pharaoh man. I thought they were unique. After three games, you'd think they'd really run out of ideas. but I think the bosses on this are still pretty smart now, two other games I learned while I was there are Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley. As soon as I picked up Hogan's Alley, I could feel like I've handled NES games. A lot of times I could feel the difference in weight like you know something is a little off so it has a Famicom converter inside and of course they are both light gun games.
I feel like it's a lost art, we don't seem to shoot screens any

. It would be nice to have some fun shooter style games like that again. Rad Racer is one of the first racing games I played. It's not technically a black box game, but it is a silver box like Kid Icarus and Metroid and now Rad Racer. The really cool thing about this that I think people forget is that you could play it with 3D glasses. The 3D wasn't spectacular but it did have a 3D component. What a revolutionary and interesting idea from the beginning, it's like it came out of your computer screen.
Cara, I bought the best Indiana Jones Adventures on Super Nintendo, there are a lot of indie games released now, the NES games aren't that great. The infernal machine of '64 wasn't great, you know, a lot of them were pretty clumsy. the games that have come out on systems have had their flaws in my opinion, the best adventures are the best indie game ever released, it's challenging, it's not always intuitive, sometimes you don't know exactly what to do, but it's really fun, the graphics are great, the sound. It's great, the theme is great, it feels like you're playing all three movies and I really like this game.
I love indie and I love this obstacle. The Mayan Adventure for Super Nintendo is an average game. It is a side-scrolling exploration game. It's a platform game, not bad for all you Easter egg hunters, it has the original game hidden inside. I also chose actraiser; Now I love actraiser one and its dual nature with the divine parts and the side scrolling parts, but I definitely liked the side scrolling bits more when Actraiser 2 came out. I think they must have listened to people's reactions because they completely removed all of them. the urban planning God fragments and instead this is just side scrolling and then they improve those side scrolling elements to the I really do it more not just about sword and fighting but also about flying, floating and using magic, for What those added elements make it quite fun.
Is a good game. I still like the first one better, but it's definitely worth checking out. Hi Joe Monk, thank you. you for getting on your copy of alien 3 alien 3 now I wasn't a big fan of the alien 3 movie and the game I was a little hesitant about, but I saw this for the first time and discovered it in Nintendo Power issue 100, where they did it. one of the top 100 video games of all time and this one was actually on the list, now you have to understand that this was even before the Nintendo 64 came out so there weren't that many games but this one made it to number 100 and put it on my radar.
I tried to collect all the games on that list, finally number 100, some games or movies based on exogenous piracy have been successful, but Alien 3 somehow got inside us, we had to go on the ultimate bug hunt and We didn't even have to shave our heads. to do it oh oh like because she shaves her head in the movie the next game is probably the best game I've ever gotten and that's Hagane for the super

game quiet now I didn't spend the kind of prices you look at online luckily I found a deal and couldn't pass it up.
You've chosen wisely now, as for the game itself, it's an interesting mix of Japanese aesthetics and futuristic aesthetics, and your main character is a cyborg ninja, so it makes sense. Two things combined, the game itself is decent, but I will definitely say it's not worth the full price, so I hope you find a deal or sell everything you have to get it and then you can add it to your Captain Skyhawk arcades. now I remember seeing Captain Skyhawk and tying an ax and the $20 bin at Toys R Us or the $20 rack or whatever it was back then, but I remember seeing these sets and then, surprise, surprise, I bought them both to Christmas or my birthday or something.
So back in the day, Captain Skyhawk is a game that you don't hear a lot of people talk about, you know it has this kind of textured world based on an isometric grid where you know all the environments are based on these geometric shapes, you fly fast. a shooter is very fun it is very underrated and I love this game fortunately it was also a gift from Steve from Lost Levels and you know who organizes the city's retro festival he gave it to me so thanks Steve so another day we were in Wilmington, California , we were looking for games, we found our friend's store, it's actually called toys vs games and I bought some good, decent and some bad, so I'll start with the bad and strange x-men, this is a load of garbage.
It's very disappointing when you love something as much as the X-Men. I collected the comics. I watched the animated series. I've always loved the X-Men, but then you play this and it's terrible, it's not fun, it's bad, you made the wrong choice. I chose wrong. I also chose Super Adventure Island. Now obviously there's Adventure Island one, two and three on the NES, but I saw a video by Michael B, the genius of the game, about this game and I thought: Wow, this looks really fun, like a lot of Super Nintendo games. It's super eyes, it looks better so I wanted to check it out.
I bought it and you know what I liked. Michael B, good choice. I tried it, so the last thing I bought at Tony's store was Mega Man 6. I already had four. He needed five. and six and there were six, it was beautiful, it was spotless and clean, just the way I like games, so I wanted to add this, of course, to the collection. Now there are some interesting things about it, you know, it was published by Nintendo, it took the series. in some slightly new directions by giving him quick adapters that allow Mega Man to bond with him and gain new powers, new abilities, but I think one of the most interesting things was that you know people probably felt that Mega Man had been a formula that was beaten to death, that there is nothing else you can do, there are no more names for the characters that you can think of, I mean, everything was a man, you, a toaster man, had an iron man to waffles, a man with a stapler, what else came to mind?
They held a contest, they asked the children what they wanted to see in the Anna Megaman game. I thought it was pretty cool, so I didn't submit anything, but did any of you submit anything to that contest? Because it would be great I know which ones you came up with. This was also a gift from a friend of mine, Chris Roberts, he knew that he was looking for games that started with the letter Q and he had an A, you're Qbert, so he just brought it to me. Chris, thanks Chris, you are amazing now Qbert. I think most people have basically played it.
You're an orange guy with a suction-like nasal nodule on your face and you jump over squares avoiding snakes and then curse in weird gibberish. sounds and the game is difficult it makes me want to curse with strange gibberish sounds like dad in the Christmas story. One day I was on Twitter and I ran into this guy named Tim and he had a you know on Twitter, his name is Renaissance with NES in capital letters, you know, and I'm a history teacher, so when I saw that he makes like NES and then art, you know, I teach Renaissance, I thought it was cool, so I started looking at his page and saw that he made paintings. and I got really excited so I contacted him and asked if maybe he could make me a commission based on some games that I love, zelda one and Breath of a Wild, so I could sit down and talk to him and we did a couple of calls. on Skype, we sent each other a lot of messages with different images and ideas and to really work with him on exactly what he wanted, he would send me updates and I would say, "Oh, could you do it this way?", and he worked with me. but the final product is absolutely stunning when I look at just the detail: the brushstrokes of the yellow sky mixing with the red of that original Legend of Zelda image, the way the reflection of the hills and forest shine in the river and Then they cut in with him, the side of the cliff, the famous shot of Linc climbing up the side of the cliff, but for him to look at that old scene, there's something about the old and the new mixing together.
What's also cool about Tim is that he records the process of making these paintings and uploads them to his channel, he calls himself a gamescape artist, so whether it's on his website or Etsy shop, you would look for a gamescape artist. gamescape, but I'll tell you if it's something that interests you. get something very personalized about your favorite game or do a certain shot, angle or element that you have in mind that you've never seen, it's really cool to be able to reach out to a guy like Tim and get exactly what you're looking for. I wanted to have Megaman 4 and Megaman 6 and all I needed was to complete the Megaman 5 side

quest

and I found it on sale.
It's a pretty good place. I met this guy in a parking lot because that's what you do when you buy things on sale. and I got Mega Man 5 from him now Mega Man 5 I feel like it's the game where an egg man really starts to show its repetition, not much new was introduced, it did have its new, but it started to show signs of running out of names for the characters , they're not terrible, but you start to feel like you're getting further and further away from the simplicity of the heat man and the ice man, you know, they ran out of substances and weather patterns and so on.
It started to stretch a little more but it's still a wonderful game, it has the classic formula that makes it so great and more Mega Man is never a bad thing so there is another store near me in Huntington Beach called Retro Games Plus so it's new. I decided to check it out and found several more black box games, including pinball. Now when you hear about thepinball for the first time or you think about pinball, you're probably assuming it's early, it's black box, it's just going to be basic pinball, but there's actually a bit of To give it a twist, I mean this is Nintendo after all. and there is a special hole that you can hit the ball in and it takes you to a getaway style level where Mario runs back and forth trying to deflect the pin, pinball and brake blocks and rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong Fame, so it's interesting, it's worth it, it's worth watching, it's not just a typical run-of-the-mill golf pinball game.
Nintendo also made a golf game for this black box series and I spent an inordinate amount of time playing the game. Golf. I was never sure if it was Lee Trevino or Mario or some kind of Lee Trevino Mario hybrid that you played because he's a little beefier. maybe a little chubbier than Mario was used to but he has that Mario look in his eyes but anyway it's a basic type of golf game but it's still pretty fun slalom now slalom is when you go down a hill on a slope and you try not to slalom against a tree or slalom against a rock or slalom against those flags, you just want to slalom safely down the slope, that's very slow.
Now there are a couple of interesting things about this game, although people may not know it's the first game. developed outside of Japan for the Nintendo Entertainment System and was developed in Britain by two very well known developers, Chris and Tim Stamper, of rareware fame, of course, they developed Goldeneye and Donkey Kong and jet force Gemini and banjo kazooie and many other classics for the Nintendo 64 but it starts with slalom Mach Rider now most people see the tag on Mach Rider and they just think it's a motorcycle game you know? Nintendo is too smart for that, just to make a simple motorcycle game, so there are a few elements added they change gears up and down and the B button fires a gun how many of you knew that you ever played this?
Did you know they shoot a gun and Mach Rider? So the game is not just avoiding obstacles, but destroying obstacles, it's nice. funny, the last game I learned in retro games and it's also ice hockey, now between this and Blade to Stealth to be honest, I prefer this one. I like the fact that you customize your equipment, it's simpler. I mean, there are aspects of Blades of Steel that I like. I like fist fights, but I like the fact that you can choose between the skinny, the average, and the fat, and you can make your team with any combination of those three.
All four players can be skinny, if you want, all four can be fat. if you want but they have strengths and weaknesses the skinny ones are faster more agile but they are also weak and if you hit them they will probably fall on their skinny little butt the fat ones are slow but they are like tanks they are immovable and of course the average guys just average that kind of custom ability, that kind of uniqueness made it really fun and it means taking on something interesting while trying to compose your team in the way you think will be most effective.
I really like it when I left. I think it was a retro game sharing social gathering. I found these types of perler beads of all the Megaman 2 bosses and I loved Megaman 2 as you'll see in a minute so when I saw these I thought they would look beautiful probably right there in fact I'll put them right there in just a minute, but I have the eight bosses. I didn't get Megaman. I also got this Megaman 2 Tiger handheld. a lot of these tiger handhelds I had Snake's Revenge I had Strider I had Castlevania 2 I had Bo Jackson I had I mean, those are the ones that come to mind I still have it I think somewhere, but I absolutely thought they were amazing until it came out Gameboy when I play them now, they're a bit rough around the edges, it's still a fun memory, there's still something really simple and beautiful about them?
I love having some sort of marquee around them, they were everywhere back then, I'm sure most of you have some of these, they are so much fun to collect, if not just for that look on the outside, they are pieces too cool showcases, commandos, ghosts and goblins, now these are from that first wave of Capcom games where things were a bit braver you have things like Trojan and Section Z and of course these two and a few others have a feel and a different vibe, they have that cool grid style in the background, but probably no more lively than the purple one. type boxes of later Capcom games that are much more colorful, much more vibrant, these are dark and gritty ghosts and goblins, it's notoriously difficult, I'm not good at it, I can't get very far, I get very frustrated, I get angry, I leave it, but there is a good one.
The thing about ghosts and goblins is that I got the bug from Gargoyles Quest and one of my favorite games, Demons Crest, and you know, those sequels alone make this like the progenitor. I know a lot of people love it, but it's so hard that I like it. I want to do it. I love it, but now I'm talking about those purple Capcom games I also picked up. Willow Willow was a film and it starred Warwick Davis, who started playing wicket in Return of the Jedi and that's why he was given the role of Willow in George Lucas. movie of the same name, the game itself is a lot like Zelda, you are a solo explorer adventure, you search for different weapons and items, it has RPG elements that you can level up, but it is mainly an action game, interestingly enough, actually you do not have them.
I have money and every item in it is a found item, it's an interesting game and definitely worth checking out. Kid Icarus and I also found the manual. I was like a game at the Expo in Arizona and I saw this there and you know. I should never have gotten rid of him. I'm stupid for getting rid of it. This game should mean something to me. It was the first video, the first episode. Is what I did fun? But in those difficult times I got rid of it. So when I saw it there, I thought I needed to understand it.
I need to put it in the collection. It's also the last of the silver box games I needed, so that's the whole side

quest

, so funnily enough, I threw that video in there. On the day and date that Kid Icarus came out for 3ds, I was thinking in my naive brain, wow, people will watch Kid Icarus and find my video and then everyone will know who I am and I will be famous. It didn't work out that way, but it does make me think that they should revitalize this series Kid Icarus Pitts as a character from Greek mythology Medusa the pillars, all that, there aren't many video games set in that time period, especially nowadays and I know that The 3DS version is good, it's decent.
I think some levels, the flying type levels, are more fun than the ground levels, but it's still fun and I would love to see Nintendo give it the switch treatment, bring it back to its roots, but revolutionize it, which was good, what didn't work and revolutionize it and bring a real good Kid Icarus to change, that would be beautiful and amazing, so in 2017 Capcom and I are 8-bit decided to work together to re-release two of my favorite games of all time, Mega Man 2 and Mega Man The Capcom team created a lasting work of art. Megaman glow in the dark color and the other 7500 are like a white color whatever the case may be, whatever they are, I don't know because I'm afraid to open it, I think if I open it and find out I didn't do it.
I can't get the blue ones that glow in the dark. I could be sad. Maybe you know, curl up in the fetal position and start crying and that's embarrassing. I'm simply too old to cry in the fetal position. again, but should I open it? What would you honestly do? Honestly, what would you do if you had this? Would you open it and find out? Would you open it and be disappointed? What am I supposed to do? What should I do? I hope you enjoyed this video, I hope. You enjoyed this style of pickup, let me know what you think about it.
I'm crazy. Is it that cool?
