Day in the Life of a Home Daycare Provider

Mar 29, 2024
Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel, I'm Ashley, welcome back to my channel. I feel like it's been a while since I last posted a video but I wanted to film today because I'm going to film a day in the

life

as a

daycare

provider

so if you guys are new to my channel I'm a

daycare

provider

home

. I've been doing daycare from my

home

for seven years and I'll be taking you guys on a typical day with me, so I'm not going to go into too much detail, but I'm in a new location, I'm not at home anymore, actually I'm in an apartment on the second floor, so I thought I'd post that for you guys, because there's a lot of things that I've learned from being in an apartment and, um, there's going to be a lot of videos that will come that won't just serve to serve, but rather help the people who are probably in apartments or thinking about getting one. an apartment for daycare etc. so my kids are awake right now, Anthony and Lucas, if you guys are new too, I have two kids, Anthony is seven and Lucas is three, so if you see any kids like their face in the video, they are my children so take your children, I will blur their faces so I won't show them at all so keep that in mind and other than that there are currently seven of them I mean 7 45 , I already have a student, she is In fact, right there, looking at me like I'm crazy and I'm going to start breakfast in a little while and my program starts at eight, my schedule stayed the same even with the relocation, so I'm going to continue forward. and I will start breakfast.

I'm going to start now so I can do it earlier and have time to get organized because I have a lady who will be coming a little later to tour the daycare and I have to get some things. printed out for her so you've got it and that's it so I'm going to go ahead and start making breakfast so I don't get late and I'll talk to you guys in a moment so I went to take note the other day. to get some new cups for the apartment like for the daycare and these, everyone has them and I didn't realize until now, every time I go to my friends house and they have kids, they see these kinds of cups and the bowls that I'm about to show them to you right now, they're from Target and they're super cheap.

More Interesting Facts About,

day in the life of a home daycare provider...

I think the glasses were like 59 cents each, maybe 75 cents, I forgot, but they were definitely under a dollar and I bought a bunch of them, no. a ton of them, but I have some for daycare and the kids really like them, so if you're looking for something that's really easy to get instead of ordering on Amazon or whatever, go to Target, check these out. You're really good so this is my second week doing apartment daycare so I started last week I did it Monday to Friday and today is my second Monday or the start of my second week so my schedule is still not I'm adjusting it. but I'm still getting used to certain things, how to move certain things because it's a smaller space than I had before, to a certain extent because the daycare center likes children and they occupy the same square meters that they had in the park at home .

No the apartment and the house have exactly the same square footage that they have here, so everything that was there as far as curricular materials, toys is in this apartment, so they didn't lose anything, um, the only thing I can . to say that they didn't have or that they don't have that I was in the house it was like this big imaginary house if you are familiar with what my space was like before it was a house where you could open the door and go in and out, it was like a house that didn't It fit here, but everything else is here, so I'll show you a quick tour a little later, maybe not because I was thinking of making a video dedicated to a walkthrough, but I'll quickly pan over so you guys can get an idea of what the space looks like right now, so again I'm going to start with breakfast, the kids are going to have some scrambled eggs with some sausage on the side and maybe some strawberries too and then I'll show them a plate when they're done be ready but I'm cooking right now it's 7 47 I'm starting up to size 8 but I'm starting a little bit earlier so I can clean up because like I said, that dad is coming over later to see the daycare, so my oldest doesn't want eggs and sausage, so I made him scrambled eggs with some strawberries on the side and then, for my youngest son, he's going to eat scrambled eggs. eggs, but he wants sausage, so I'm going to make it so the kids have basically finished breakfast, so it's 8 22.

What I'm going to do is clean this kitchen because the kitchen is a mess and then when I'm done clean the kitchen, we'll move on and continue with our schedule. The kitchen is there, those are my guys and if you see, behind me is the play area so you can see what's going on at the play. area um, so I'm going to wash the hands of the kids that are here, let them play freely, I don't know why I'm not concentrating, I'll let them play while I wash the dishes and clean the kitchen, and then we'll continue with our schedule, so I'm going to use my laptop right now and I'm going to do this so it says "thank you" and there's like a Bible verse.
I don't know if you can see it there. So what I'm going to do is do it on my computer and then print it out and then put your handprints on it. Okay, so I did it, I hope it turns out well, so I wrote everything down. that up, insert some clip art and then we'll put your hands here like a flower, it'll look like the one in the sea, I think it is, except I didn't add the little leaves that are on the sides. from the cube thanks and I didn't put an exclamation point um but yeah I think it'll look cute something simple those little desks are

life

savers I love them I got them from Michaels for seven bucks each so I bought a bunch of them um and I love them because they're so easy to take out just have the kids do their activity and then when they're done they stack up um I have some more here I'll show you so they're stacked right here. and when they're done right there, I'll ask them to bring me their desks, and we'll stack them and they're really good.
The only thing I don't like about them is if they write on them like they're crayons or Marker, well, not marker, but as a crayon, it's almost impossible to get it out, so they already look like, um, worn out, you know what I mean, um, but other than that, I haven't had any problems with them. They are so good and I have my niece who is six years old and she is using it and my youngest daughter right now is less than two years old, she is almost two years old, but she is also using it, so what I'm trying to say is like many agents.
You can use them if you're sitting down and you can sit and concentrate, like you can let them use them as a desk or whatever, so I like them, just thought I'd mention to you guys. I'll have the link below. If you want to see them, my son has this thing where he wants to make a pool, so he takes all the toys and throws them on the ground and acts like it's a pool. Alexa resume. Okay, I just cleaned up the The toys that were on the floor put all the toys in their little cubbies and the kids are still coloring, so I just want to talk to you about that white noise on YouTube.
I love it and the nursery at home that I didn't use. the white noise machine I only started using it here because my kitchen, daycare area and bedroom are very close together and my oldest son is virtual school and then sometimes I want to clean the kitchen and I'm going to make noise, you know what i mean so i needed something to help me block out some of the noise and that damn white noise on youtube. I'll have the link to the video below so you can watch it, it's amazing. I love it and since I live in an apartment, I have people on top of me, you hear their footprints or their steps and you also hear your children or their conversations or the same on each side of the wall and I just want to make sure that the children in the daycare don't be interrupted and that helps a lot, even last night when I was sleeping like it was 9:30 at night and I heard footprints and footsteps and a lot of different noises, so I just put that on. even for me, I slept like a baby, like it was really good, so I have it on right now.
The babies at daycare are already sleeping and my kids are awake, they're not napping and like I said, I have my niece and she's older. The three of them are in my room and maybe a little later I'll take them for a walk around the complex because there's a patch of grass and they like to run and stuff, so we did that last week. times and they really liked it, so I think we could do that today too, so I'll go ahead and let them go. I'm going to organize a bit and talk to you in a moment. kinda okay let me turn this music off so it's not copyrighted with the cocoa melon okay guys it's currently 3:02 p.m. m., I'm finishing giving the kids a snack, I didn't show anything, I completely forgot I was filming today.
So, um, I filmed my oldest son, oh, I just gave everyone snacks, my little ones are still eating their snacks, but I'm going to sanitize the tables on the chairs right now because we won't be using them clean for the rest of the day. I get the little ones up and then I put away their high chairs and then I start cooking, so during that time I try to get things ready for dinner because it's easier for me to have the little ones asleep and then my older ones, you know, entertained. . I cut like some vegetables or whatever green pepper, red pepper, onion and cilantro and there because we're having dinner oyogizado, which is his favorite, I love it, so I just prepared that, so I'll start cooking later like everyone else. it's situated um and then again my kitchen and the nursery it just flows so well the apartment behind me is the bathroom so if I'm ever cooking and an older child has to go to the bathroom like I'm not an older child because they can do their own thing, but my son is three and then I have another who is also three, so if they have to leave they can leave the door open and go to the bathroom and I can see if they need help or whatever. everything flows really well and what I was trying to say is that I can cook dinner and this is something that I don't need to be on the stove at all times so I can interact with the kids and then just check in on the food because again, everything it's wide open so that's just a quick update, probably while the food is cooking and everything, I'll start with the little craft, the thank you wrapping paper that I have and then I'll show you guys. what it's going to look like when I'm done so I'm going to go ahead and let you go so I can sanitize the tables on the chairs because I already sprayed them and yeah okay I just finished cleaning the kitchen and I also prepared the water for the kids because we're going to go out on that patch of grass I told you about earlier so I have your sweaters here and the shoes have been coming in here if you're familiar with my house, I'm sorry.
This is one of the little girls and since we are going out if her mom picks her up, I want to make sure to give her this so she doesn't forget. I was going to say something that, oh, in my other house. we had a shoe rack but since I literally have no room for a shoe rack in this apartment I have a basket that the kids put their shoes in and that basket stays there Monday through Friday and then on the weekends I put it away because I don't want to see it um and then that table that you saw condensed before I left it out all last week but I really feel like everything is very small here, so there won't be any more meals like snacks.
The last thing I feed them I just clean it up and put it away so they have more room to roam and stuff like that. So I'm going to get a backpack and then in the backpack I put everyone's water in it. and yes, we will go there in a moment. I'm going to take everyone to go to the bathroom to check the diapers and then we'll go over there and then we'll put all the waters in the backpack and the poster folder and we'll be. Well, it is currently 5:16 p.m. m. and I'm preparing dinner.
I didn't bring my camera when we went to the outside area just because it was so difficult, obviously I'm alone. I have two babies holding hands. My son and my kids walk on my knees and it was too much so I didn't bring my camera, but they came out, had a little fun, we came back, changed diapers and got a little organized and now they. I have an in-house plate until pickup, which I close at six, if you guys didn't know and my dinner is going well, it's cooking and my night is basically going to be feeding my kids, giving them a bath and then putting them to sleep and then.
I'll do the same thing again tomorrow, so the craft I didn't do today, but I'll probably do it tomorrow and maybe I'll film another day of life during the week and then I'll show you what the craft looks like and then I'll show you what it looks like. the craft in the next vlog to basically complete today's video. I hope you enjoyed it, subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and I'll see you around. guys in my next video
