Mar 11, 2024Hey guys, we're in the final stretch and I haven't been in this room before. It's a small study area in my house, uh, but I like it, so we're finishing the year strong, two more weeks here and I run a Ministry called life. with the Ministry of power so whatever you came to this YouTube channel welcome if you've been here before you know I would write these minutes of power they're one minute
devotion
als uh they're one of the things that we do in our ministry very frequently. other things and resources for you to see, we work a lot with refugees and I am also a full time PhD so here we are, today's power minute is called Fight foryour
soul
versus the first Peter 2 11.Beloved, I urge you You, as foreigners and exiles, abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against
your
soul
. Hey, when we were kids we used to think we knew a lot more than our parents. I remember watching movies with my brothers and it seemed like my parents were always walking I dedicate myself to the more compromising scenes where you try to explain or change the channel naively assuming they had no idea what we were talking about, but every generation of Christians that has The foregoing understands and has had to deal with thefight
against sin in retrospect.Let's see that our parents were not ignorant of the war against the soul or the flesh, they were simply protectors of us or for us, they understood why we were still learning that the only way to abstain from the passions of the flesh is to compromise. In an internal war, even Peter, thousands of years before, wrote words to remind us of our loyalty and our true home. We were created for more than the pleasures of this world. We were created for union with God and holiness. It is your identity in Christ. That will push you to live the life to which God has called you.
Are you willing to do it? that could mean cheating on the channel or getting rid of the phone or I don't know what drastic measure it is because you're not strong enough to overcome sin, I mean the spirit of God lives in us but the reality is it's a struggle and sometimes we have to do the right things to be able to
fight
to strengthen ourselves internally to be able to fight that war, so what are you doing for that? war eh, where do you find that you have war in your life against the meat you are eating or drinking or sexual urges, whatever it is, turn to Jesus, he will give you the strength you need to overcome. It's okay, hey, if you want to get it. These minutes of power, by the way, are going to continue, you are around 24/7. I was going to say that 365 days a year you can subscribe to living with power.org permanently. I hope you do and I hope you come back tomorrow for more.
