DOLLAR TREE VALENTINE'S DIY - FARMHOUSE VALENTINES DECOR

ate everything for Valentine's Day, but I'll use this cute little item you see here that I bought at Dollar Tree to order. to create a template for our DIY project for my house, okay, so the first thing I'm going to do is separate the little hearts from that ribbon. I won't use all of them, just the Using one as a template, then I used a box cutter to cut out a piece of foam board that I had left over and then I marked the heart shape on that foam board and after I had marked that heart, I took some scissors and cut around.

That scoring line actually helped me quite a bit because every time I went around the edges it didn't wrinkle the foam like it sometimes happens when using scissors, so the scoring really helped, so then I drew a heart shape on the inside of it. heart with a marker and I cut that out too and as you can see here, I'm being clever again. I had some of those Dollar Tree berry bushes left over from Christmas last year and decided to go ahead and cut them down. into small packets and then I started placing the berries all over the white heart, making sure to cover as much of the foam board as possible.

I was also trying to make sure I glued them to the outside edge and covered the inside edge as I went. I went and then took some red acrylic paint that I had and started covering those little white areas where I separated the berries and then after the paint was dry I applied glossy Mod Podge over all the berries that way they would be nice and shiny again now that I had this nice square frame my husband probably thought I had it a little longer than it should but I never knew what to do with it because it had two small holes in one of the sides however with this one it was going to be the perfect project because I'm going to hang that heart with jute twine at the top through those holes.

I was just distressing it like you see here to give it a little more rustic look and then I took some jute twine that I have from Dollar Tree and just hot glued it to the back, now the back of the heart is not showing so pretty, you can always paint it red or you can cover it with construction paper, but I just left it. just as it was, since it will be facing a wall anyway, no one will see it, then I threaded the jute twine through those little holes, tied a little bow and hung the heart inside the frame, so if you're like me and you don't do it.
