Huge Kitchen Organization! MissLizHeart

Apr 28, 2024
Hello everyone, welcome back. I'm so excited to finally get this

kitchen

organized. I really needed to clean the counters. The clutter was driving me and I said the spice drawer needed some

organization

under the sink. Also thanks to Cricut for sponsoring today's video I created. some really fun labels using my cricut and i'm going to do a full tutorial. Don't forget to like the video if you enjoy it and let's go ahead and jump into it. This is the cabinet right next to the stove. and it's the one I use the most for cooking and this one in the spice drawer, um, so I went ahead and cleaned everything out once everything was on the counter, I went ahead and sorted everything, I threw out everything that was old and then I found something . like larger spices that I really wanted to put in individual jars and I found that they are shiny and wooden and they are so beautiful, but I wanted to label them that way when they are empty, I know exactly what was in there and Honestly, it looks really pretty, so I'm going to be using my Cricut for this so I have Cricut Explorer 3 and honestly you guys if I can do this so can you because I'm horrible when it comes to instructions so qriket has a design center that installs on your computer and this makes it super easy because it literally walks you through everything so that's what you're seeing here and the first thing I'm doing is just creating a new project and Go ahead and write my first tag and then you can go in and change the font and they offer so many fonts, some of them you have to pay, they also have a membership but there are some free fonts or you can I searched for free fonts online and ended up using this one.

I think the name of this one is coffee, but I think I already had it installed on my computer, so that's cool too. You can use fonts that you already have saved on your computer. After selecting the font I went ahead and duplicated it and then just changed the word to the next label and basically repeated that step for each new label I needed to make, they will all be the exact same size and color so I went ahead and I changed them to white which is the color of the material I'm using so I measured my container where the labels are going to go and decided three inches was a good size so I went ahead and just resized them all to three inches after that I had them the size I wanted, I went ahead and right clicked and selected a solder that basically joins all the letters together and makes it easier to cut and now we just press the little green button that says do it and it will guide you through each step and we will use the smart materials that qriket offers, so we don't need to use a mat, so I will select the same one.

Actually, you can put your smart materials here and feed them and you can also cut them in this tray, so there we are. They'll go ahead and feed the paper and you guys will see the little flashing arrow there, you'll click on it once you have the paper lined up and the cricut will do the rest of the work for you and once the paper is fully loaded you just press the little play button and the cricut will do all the cutting for you.

I think it's really cool now that the holiday season is approaching. because you can make some personalized gifts you can also make some personalized home decorations there are tons of tutorials that you guys can look up and once the cricut is done cutting your design you just take it out and then by the way you individually cut out each label.

Cricut sells these scissors and a little tool kit that comes with everything you guys see me use, which is really cool and super useful. I definitely ended up using like most of the tools, so now I'm just removing any of that excess vinyl, as you can see, all the vinyl that surrounds the actual word and then I'm using this little tool to take off the vinyl that's between the letters, then I take the Cricut transfer tape, which is basically It will help you transfer your label to the product, so you just cut it to the same size as your actual label and you peel off the backing and it's basically like a piece of tape, you place it over your label and then you make sure you smooth it out really well.
I'm using the little softer tool that comes in the tool kit and you just want to peel that sticker off slowly, you want to make sure you carry that vinyl with you so if it doesn't stick completely. the tape then just put the tape back on, smooth it out and then try again and this is what it looks like once you lift the vinyl up and now you just apply it to the container, smooth it out with the same smoothing tool and peel the tape off again to reveal your final project and it's so cute. I love this font and the way everything turned out and I just did that for each jar.
Now came the fun part. I went ahead and filled all my containers. The first container I made. stir fry seasoning that I got from Trader Joe's, the next container I made and everything but the spicy bagel mix and I just mixed these three spices together, um, because I always make this individually and I thought, you know what I'm going to put them all in? a jar, this will be much easier when I cook the next container, I put sugar. I always have to go to the pantry to get sugar when I'm cooking specifically, so I wanted to have some sugar by the stove, so that's nice. and handy and ready to go and then the last container I have my kosher salt, they turned out so pretty I want to get a few more jars, some bigger ones for the third shell as backup material, so on the bottom shelf I went ahead and put everything in my oils, so I'm using a Lacy Susan for that, I have my sesame oils, my olive oils, they're all cooking oils basically and my avocado oil too and then next to that I wanted to make these little stackable drawers and I put in a lot of similar seasoning packets and the first one and then I realized I didn't have anything to put in the second one so I took it out and put in bone broth because I cook with bone broth a lot, especially for Elliot and this is what By the way, I put it in that little drawer, but yeah, I love the way it looks, it looks so good and I can see everything and I finally have some

organization

where I cook, so right underneath I have my spice drawer, which I have been dying to organize like this, I don't even know how I got into this situation, but I took everything out, um, sorted, threw out the empty containers, vacuumed, cleaned it, and to organize all the spices, I found this really cool wooden organizer, that guy I feel like it gives the drawer a very personalized look.
That's one of the things I miss about my old

kitchen

is that we had a built-in spice drawer that was actually built for the door and it looks really nice and I feel like this gives it a very similar look. I had to add one of those dividers to keep everything in place because they weren't long enough to fit the entire drawer, but yeah, I'm debating whether or not I wanted all my spices. I feel like it's going to be a big project, but I feel like it might be worth it, I'm not sure, so in the drawing next to it I wanted to keep all my kitchen knives, like I told you before, I really wanted to clear them out.
The counters and I kept everything I could in drawers and cabinets and one of the main things was my knife set because I just didn't like how bulky it looked. I found this little block that you can put inside your drawer and it holds up to I want to say like 50 knives, so I transferred all my knives in here and I was able to store that knife block and it cleared up so much space that I also had this little utensil holder that had knives and other things there. I was able to put all of that in the same drawer and again I kept that big block forever so the next place I wanted to tackle was under my sink which we recently installed as a water filtration system which takes up a lot of space in there so I found these stackable drawers that are clear, allow me to see exactly what's in there and they were the perfect size, so in the first drawer I added all my dishwashing capsules, in the second door I added all my sponges and then I really needed them. a place for all my essential oils whenever I like to DIY and also my mr clean sponges and then I found this little cart, I put all my brushes in here and my glove and I was going to go ahead and put it away, but then I thought, wait, I should create labels for all of this so I went ahead and made some labels just like I did the other labels with my qriket machine and I use the same font I just made the labels a little bigger I think I made them four inches and they look very cute so I went ahead and started assembling them under my sink and it turned out so perfect.
I love the way it looks and there wasn't much room for any organizers on the left so I just kind of laid out all the sprays so they were easy to access. I really wish I didn't have to look at all those ugly cables in the back, but it's much better than it was and it's fully functional, the cabinet right next to it. I went ahead and installed this little paper towel holder. I was going to do it under the sink but there wasn't enough room because of the water softener, but it worked perfectly here and this way I can also have backup paper towels and then the drawer. right above I had already organized it, I just added one of those wooden dividers and I put all my cleaning towels and also my dish towels in here, so across the way, which is where the stove is, I have these two drawers that I always imagine having my tupperware and my pots and pans that I use every day, so I went ahead and cleaned them all, vacuumed them, wiped them down and then for these I wanted to make liners just because it will keep things from slipping and I I had these liners that I found at Homegoods a long time ago and finally decided to use them, so I first had to go ahead and measure the drawers so I could cut them accurately.
These are the liners here, I think they are really pretty, they are a cream and gold color, so I went ahead and measured the liners after taking measurements and cut them out. I started with the tupperware drawer. I decided to make the tupperware in the background because I wanted the pots and pans. to be closer to the stove, so I started by putting those wood dividers in the drawer, but at the last minute I decided to change it to these wood dividers that are actually modular and come with these little pieces of wood so you can adjust the pockets and just make it totally customizable and you will see why I did that at one point I put all my tupperware in a row, then the lids in another row and then that part that I divided I put my small tupperware with a small lid, let me tell you that this It's probably my favorite drawer in the entire kitchen.
It's so pretty and honestly I'm so proud of myself because I feel like tupperware drawers are always the hardest to organize so I went ahead and added that liner to the top one. Well I added a wooden divider, these are the pots and pans that I use daily, so I have special pots that I keep in a cabinet like my lycra, says my Dutch ovens and things like that, that I only take out sometimes. but I cook with these like every day so I just wanted to have easy access to them so all that was left to do was wipe down the counters and keep tidying up but I already noticed there was a lot less stuff on the counters. and it looks so open that I decided to finish preparing the coffee station for the winter months.
I added my seasonal mugs, they are so cute I really wanted to display them and then I filled a jar with the seasonal marshmallows that I found at Target I had already organized this drawer so this is like my coffee station. I have cinnamon, nutmeg, these little marshmallow stirrers and teas like all the fun stuff and I actually showed you how to organize this on my Instagram and more. here where I keep my cookbook I added a cute tray with snowflake decorations and then I also added a fun peppermint candle and these cool little matches and I love how this little nook looks but other than that the rest of the counters are just it's completely clear and it looks a lot more open and it's such a good feeling knowing that the drawers are completely organized and everything is ready so I hope you enjoyed this video, give it a thumbs up if you did, thank you.
Again to qriket for sponsoring today's video. I'm going to have exactly the quick machine I've linked below for you and I'll talk to you next time, bye.
