You can get this four-pound carton at Walmart. For just under four dollars at Dollar Tree you'll want to pick up one of these storage containers, they have a zipper. This is the perfect size for these tiles. I'm going to buy some good, traditional food. spray I'm going to coat the inside of this because this is going to do it or ensure it. I guess you can say the tile slides easily and just by taking a paper towel and spreading it out you will get a nice coating on the edges and bottom. It's very easy to do.

It's a two to one ratio, so for this tile I like to use four cups of plaster of paris to two cups of cold water. Now you do want to use cold water. not warm water because plaster of paris sets pretty fast anyway if you use hot water or warm water it will set even faster so you want to stick with cold water once you pour that water into the plaster you'll want to move quickly . because it will again start to thicken, which is what you really want to mix. Get as much of that powder as possible.

Incorporate it with the water as you can so that you have a smooth and pleasant consistency. I'm done mixing, so I'm going to move on. and I pour it into my mold. Then I'll take some isopropyl alcohol. I put it in a mini spray bottle because this works to make those air bubbles go away. Look at that just by spraying it on top, those air bubbles disappear and we're done. I'm going to have a nice smooth surface. I'm going to let it sit for about 10 minutes, not just to let it thicken a little before I start adding my pieces to this mosaic.
Yes, white birch stems. This is a bag you can get at Dollar. Tree I found two of them that were practically the same size because I needed them to be a little longer. I'm going to go ahead and take some of that super glue wood glue and glue two of them together like this or you. I can go to your garden and get one. This works after about 10 or 15 minutes. I'm going to go ahead and place my

tree

branch

, my wood stumps, papa, papa, on my tile. I like to add it to my tile instead of sticking it on top because I feel like it adds depth and dimension and that's what I like to do, so once I have it there I'll let it sit for about an hour or two and then You'll be ready to go ahead and pop.
Right out of the mold like this, pressing on the bottom, it will release and there we have a tile, but this tile is not completely dry yet, so I'm going to let it sit overnight before I paint it because if I try to paint it, the moisture will cause the paint bubbling, it's been overnight so I think I'm ready to go ahead and paint this. I'm going to grab some Apple Barrel Classic Caramel and yeah, I'm just going to go right into the tile itself and give it a good couple coats of the classic caramel because this is a fall, fall color, so why Isn't this a versatile piece?
Be creative, make it your own because this is an Autumn Harvest themed tile that I chose. I put together this bag of pine cones that has these fun colorful leaves. I thought this was going to work perfect. I glued about three or four leaves together and I chose the yellows and reds and I'm just going to glue them on the top. from my stumps and because there are pine cones in this pit where there are fallen

tree

s, there are pine cones just falling off the tree, so I thought it would be a super cute addition to add to the bottom of the tree.
Here I found these cute acorns. in my stash that I bought this season so I thought why not add these two, they are cute and just like that

look

how fun this mosaic is. I love this one, let's do another one, oh my gosh, the ceramic pieces. I know you have them. I've seen them at Dollar Tree, pick them up because they are so fun to make. One of my favorite

things

to incorporate into DIYs whenever I can. I'm going to start by giving this pumpkin a good base coat of my rustic orange pumpkin that I make. yes this is my rustic orange color, how do I make a rustic orange color?
Well I take some Waverly Pumpkin Orange and add just a couple drops yeah that's what we'll say a darker brown and it really mutes the brightness of an orange color gives it that rustic, aged

look

and that's the look I like to go for when I make these pieces or paint them. If you start with a base coat and apply full coverage, it's a little easier to paint those raised areas and you don't have to worry about having those Perfect Clean lines for fear of the white of the ceramic showing through, which is why I feel like with these pieces, the more imperfect they are, the more perfect they are so you can You can just go in and paint those raised pieces and it will give it that handmade touch that I personally love.
Do you love pieces like this? Don't be afraid or intimidated to add details to it because when you add details to That is what will elevate your piece and take it to the next level. The details are in these ceramic pieces, so if you just use them as a guide, you'll be all set and remember, I said, the more imperfect your piece. the more perfect it is, this is a handmade creation. I had painted my pumpkin ahead of time knowing I was going to put it on my tiles, so I already prepared my tile mix, it was on for about 10 minutes and now it's good.
For me, I go ahead and place my pumpkin there after a couple of hours. It is ready, it is not dry enough to paint the tile again, but it will release from the mold and upon release, before it is completely dry. It will help the tile dry a little faster. What a shame. I didn't show it, but at the bottom there was some kind of hole for the pumpkins, so I grabbed some putty from Dollar Tree. No, this is not Dollar Tree speckle. I filled the hole at the bottom with some putty just because I wanted it to look finished once it was nice and dry.
I'm just going to take some sandpaper, smooth it out and apply some of that rustic orange of mine for this tile. I'm going to use some of my favorite browns, which would be chocolate chip apple barrels. This is such a rich dark brown. When I made this, I wasn't taking into account that my stem was dark brown, so I ended up using Caramel Apple Barrel and repainting the stem because it got lost there for a minute these laser cut words that came I believe in a five pack for the fallen harvest season I thought it was fun to add to the top and on the back some would say how do you hang this just screw on a sawtooth hanger and you are ready to hang on a wall or use an easel to display its fall and harvest tiles, how fun they are, you can really get creative. and how fun it would be to have a wall full of all the tiles you've made, who is today's KB Creations Artisan of the Day.
