The DEFINITIVE iPhone Tier List

Apr 01, 2024
come on, you'll give me my intro, buddy, ah, it's up to this point, that's right, idiots, I'm uniquely qualified to rank the iPhone from best to worst, from s-

tier

to f-

tier

, let's start with the original iPhone, okay, now probably you'd be inclined to say, okay, this is it. an obvious s-level phone because if you look at the entire smartphone market today, almost everyone pays tribute to this phone, no, no, it was not the first smartphone by any means, but it was the first phone with a true multi-touch glass screen no physical keyboard proved it could function as a software keyboard had these apps in containers in a grid on a home spring that both Android and iOS have continued to use for the last 15 years This was the original, but here Here's the thing, despite its incredible build quality and innovative features, most people look at this with rose-colored glasses because they never owned one, but I did, and this is not an ester phone.

Well, there were a lot of problems with this one. To begin with it was only 2g, now we often call it iPhone 2G and people think it means second generation or something, no that means edge, it didn't support 3G data which was already the norm when the iPhone came out, also, It didn't have multimedia. messaging support without mms this was before whatsapp and telegram and all these applications you used sms to talk to people and you couldn't send multimedia images and you couldn't receive them either my motorola razer could do that, that was a big problem, there was also no in-camera video recording, there was no native app store, Steve Jobs introduced this sort of web app style thing because the Safari browser was supposedly desktop class despite not supporting flash, which was very important in back then, there was no exchange support so that pretty much disqualified it from being used in any type of business and then to put the nail in the coffin it was only available on one carrier at a starting price of 499 with a contract two years, was prohibitively expensive and there was also.

More Interesting Facts About,

the definitive iphone tier list...

It had a flush headphone jack because Steve Jobs thought it looked ugly, requiring everyone to use Apple's own headphones or buy dongles. It was the original dongle phone and, yeah, so this is not Ester, it's not even a level or a B level. This is a C level phone and you pretty much only see your phone out of respect because it was the original and it changed the course of the rest of the phones, so it's just uphill from here, well, not necessarily, but maybe on this one, the iPhone 3g, okay, what was good? It obviously brought 3G and added GPS instead of triangulation via the cell tower that the original iPhone had, letting you know that navigation was actually possible.
the definitive iphone tier list
It competed with Garmin devices of the time. It brought iOS 2, which had major improvements. There was support for the app store. Now we had native applications. on the phone there was sharing support for business people there was support for push email but it still lacked many pro features still there was no mms there was no copy and paste there was no stereo audio bluetooth was still available only it had the same camera and the same processor, etc. The battery was bad due to 3G which was quite inefficient. The new plastic casing was cheap. It got scratched a lot compared to the aluminum model, but compared to other smartphones of the time, so it sounds like an F-level phone.
the definitive iphone tier list
Well no, because it was released at 199 per contract, this was huge because it It became the first iPhone to actually be sold. Nobody bought the original iPhone, but people bought this one every year. Now it was not a good phone. Okay, let me leave it. Let me trace this. I started making videos with the iPhone 3G on YouTube, so out of respect, that's going to be a level d from me, okay, iPhone 3Gs, okay, the iPhone 3GS was the first year that later became known as the slightly better model, but originally it meant speed and that's because damn the iPhone 3gs was incredibly fast.
It's hard to remember how much faster the iPhone 3gs was, but it was more than twice as fast as the iPhone 3g at twice the speed. memory, the processor was two and a half times faster and then it also increased the available storage to 32 gigs, which was great for the large number of new apps and games coming to the app store. It also had an improved camera. It came with a 3 megapixel camera over the iPhone 3GS's 2 megapixel camera. It also had autofocus that could record short videos and VGA quality. There was an oleophobic coating that helped with fingerprints and also added a bunch of smaller things like a magnometer, uh, for a compass support and also gps bluetooth 2.1 for stereo audio and hsdpa for uh, well the

iphone

3gs was a really very good phone despite its continued mediocre build quality, this was the first really good

iphone

and that's why it is, at worst, level. even a level spoiler alert the iphone str is any iphone with bia look private internet access has been a patron of this channel for a while and you've no doubt heard the rant, so let me go off the beaten path and quickly discuss five reasons why pia is better than any other vpn without registration number one, you can simultaneously connect 10 devices, which is double what virtually any other vpn allows number two, unlike many other vpns, pia can bypass netflix on most of the regions, plus a lot of less strict video site like bbc iplayer disney plus amazon prime etc.
Number three, pia's mace system blocks access to domains that are not publicly accessible, which means that malware, trackers, ads, etc. They won't be able to follow you online very easily. number four, pia has open sourced applications and libraries that show their customers that they are serious about transparency and that pia number five supports true peer-to-peer support across the entire network instead of just in a few. few select servers like most VPNs, plus you get port forwarding support that allows you to bypass firewalls to improve torrent download speeds. I have been a paying customer for years before they decided to sponsor the channel, so take it for what it's worth, try pia today with my link below and save 83 at checkout plus four months free, that's the phone.
You can hardly talk about that about the iPhone 4. Now, this was the first iPhone that had significant leaks. This phone was completely botched by Gizmodo and this was when Apple had incredibly secretive control of its supply chain and also because no one was that interested in the iPhone being incentivized to provide chain leaks, it was a big deal and Steve Jobs was angry, stop me if you've already seen this and when we saw the phone we thought, well this looks weird, but then it launched and it was gorgeous. The antenna lines were integrated into the stainless steel frame, something that would not appear again until the iPhone 10, almost a decade later, it was sandwiched in glass, making it practically the most repairable iPhone of all time, which was a huge plus that I fixed so many times. iPhone 4s I can't even begin to tell you that I used to own a screen clinic in an iPhone repair shop, but its main feature was that it had a retina display with a 326 ppi retina display, was the term that was coined by first time with the iPhone 4. and although the introduction of retina at work seems a bit silly all these years later, the iPhone 4 screens still look very, very good and the original iPhones, for example, look horrible, It's a big leap in quality.
There's also the first iPhone with Apple-designed silicon, something like the A4. and the story behind the beginnings of Apple silicon is super interesting, maybe we'll make a video about that in the future, Apple also doubled the RAM again, brought 720p video support for the rear camera and then they introduced the Facetime camera . Selfies were just a matter of time from now on it also had a gyroscope which was cool there were tons of games that took advantage of this for example and then it had a 32 gig storage option and was released on att, of course but there was also a cdma version available to verizon customers for the first time and then it brought ios4 which added hdr photos multitasking facetime facetime was invented with ios4 there were custom wallpapers and folders and spell checker and more ios 4 was a great update now did the iphone 4 have that little antenna door debacle which is a hilarious press rant, if you have time go watch this.
Steve Jobs is so agitated that he even has to be there, but the problem was mostly fixed with a protective case and a software update that basically modified the Cellular Power numbers a bit, this phone absolutely 100 percent per level, okay, now we get to the iPhone 4s, it was actually quite a bit, this was the first year as true where the improvements were a little more minimal, they moved to the antennas to avoid the antenna. Door two basically confirms that Antennagate was real and then Siri made its debut on the iPhone 4s as did iCloud, but what the iPhone 4s really brought that was different was a very powerful STX GPU.
It was actually the same GPU that was in the ps vita handheld gaming system, the phone brought an improved camera with an additional lens and an infrared filter with a wider aperture and also debuted its first isp inside the a5 chip, so overall it was a pretty small year but they perfected almost every problem that the near perfect iPhone 4 had this is 100 hands down hands down for their phone and maybe the best iPhone ever done right the iPhone 5. I never actually had an iPhone 5 because I was out of the country on a mission for my church, but I've really felt the iPhone 5 when you take the iPhone 5 compared to the iPhone 4.
Your first thought is: Wow, this is light and Wow this feels a little cheap, they moved to aluminum and while the iPhone 5 is objectively beautiful phone, this was before Apple got really good with aluminum and this thing would dent so easily. I've never seen an iPhone 5 that doesn't look totally busted, while most iPhone 4s and 4s still look really great today, regardless of whether there were any. a lot of hardware changes that were important, notably the screen size that had been 3.5 inches for the first iPhones increased to a still small but larger four-inch screen, still retina, and the new a6 soc It was a big update and they also doubled the memory to one gigabyte, introduced a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3 gigahertz and, for the first time, there was a 64 gigabyte storage option, a huge improvement in performance.
Plus, it was the first iPhone to have a BSI camera and was 40 times faster to open. and taking pictures was significantly better in low light, but perhaps most famously, it introduced a new port. Now there was a lot of frustration about this when they brought in lightning that obsolete the 2003 30-pin dot connector that had been supported by Apple, you know. what almost 10 years though he was old it was time to go and lightning well we're still stuck with that ah that's a bummer he introduced LTE which was a big deal and allowed Facetime over cellular , all this makes it sound. that's what an a for your phone should be like, maybe better, but it was also the phone that removed Google Maps as the default maps app and replaced it with Apple Maps, which, to put it kindly, was a disaster and the launch was so failed that Scott Forstall, who was in charge of the app, perhaps Tim Cook asked him to apologize for the position, said no, refused to sign an apology letter and shortly after left Apple, so that will make this be an ab for your phone because its launch was really very difficult so it's time for redemption with the iphone 5s this was the first iphone to introduce biometric touch id it came in the iphone 5s it also came in gold color for the first time the new chip a7 uh was Apple's first 64-bit iPhone and the iPhone 5s i think is Apple's longest supported iPhone.
Subsequently, it's surprising how long this iPhone remains supported. But it also came with an M7 Motion Gu processor which is no longer talked about. But above all because we have gone beyond that. and they're built into the soc um, but they allowed the phone to be aware of its gyroscopic activity when in sleep mode, so it introduced forms of rake for the first time, which was cool - there was also the on-chip secure enclave . For biometrics, the camera got a big upgrade, it went up to an f2.2 aperture, the sensor also got a little bigger and then they had a true tone flash for the first time with amber and cool LEDs respectively.
It was also the first iPhone to support slow motion. videoat 120 frames per second and then ios 7. despite looking pretty horrible, this is a johnny live product after scott forstall left, we still have hints of ios 7 today certainly, visually it looks somewhat similar, but not always I have brought a lot of new features introduced. Control center airdrop introduced. The notification center has been completely overhauled. Card multitasking system was introduced. Carplay was launched. Siri has been improved. I mean, all these things we still have in iOS and that was iOS 7. That was the iPhone. 5s, this is a good phone, but it's a C-tier phone and I'll tell you why in a minute wait, don't get into the comments, but first we have to talk about the iPhone 5c.
I bet you forgot about this one. The phone launched on the same day as the iPhone 5s and was the same hardware as the now one-year-old iPhone 5, but it was in a beautiful plastic case with no apologies to bring the cost down to 99 on contract for eight gigs, which which in theory sounds good. iPhone for the masses, but it wasn't really any better than a year-old iPhone 5 that had gone into some sort of promotional pricing around the same time the 5c was released and then to make matters worse, the 5c was actually aimed specifically at Asian markets, more particularly India and was simply still too expensive to take off there it was criticized as a Lumia rip-off no one really liked the colors everyone thought they were too bland actually I think they're great but that's in retrospect, I have one of these and the build. the quality is not goodIt is not on par with practically any iPhone, maybe the iPhone 3g and 3gs, but those phones were very old, it was an excuse back then, it was not an excuse when the iPhone 5c was released in 2013.
This It is an electronic level phone. We manufacture it in it, it is an option for your phone. Sorry, iPhone 5c. There is simply no reason to buy it. Apple's latest flagship seemed very out of place compared to almost every other phone on the market. We've reviewed these phones in a vacuum, but the reality is that Android was gaining momentum, and quickly, and the iPhone 5s was really the only one. There were small phones left on the market and there were certain devices like the HTC One M8 that I bought when I returned from Bolivia instead of an iPhone 5s.
OMG what a beautiful phone, it was faster, it had a big beautiful screen, the cameras were great, the battery was stellar, the speakers were amazing, everything the iPhone 5s was missing, so despite the insistence of Steve Jobs that there would never be a big screen iPhone on the market, well, the market and Tim Cook had other ideas, I guess, and three years after Jobs died. The iPhone 6 was released and it really modernized the iPhone with two screen options, there was a 4.7 inch size and then a 5.5 inch size and this was a big step up from the 4 inch screen on the iPhone 5s.
The square design of the iPhone was replaced by a rounded design that would remain until 2021, in fact, the glass was slightly curved to match the aluminum body of the phone. I mean, it was a fantastic feeling. The a8 and m8 chips brought 25 improved CPU speeds and 50 faster GPU speeds. Very good, but not that crazy. was a barometer that lte advanced was added also arrived Apple Pay was introduced for payments NFC recorded 1080p video on the video camera for the first time even though the camera module itself was basically identical to the iPhone 5s and was later added The iPhone 6 plus optical image stabilization for the first time on the software side there were a ton of new features iCloud Photo Library and the Photos app itself introduced precise editing controls imessage brought group messages there was Snapchat-style imessage support for photos and videos disappearing, which I don't even know if it's available anymore.
No, I don't think I am. I know they do that for audio clips, uh, for voice memos, but I don't think so, so that's what Homekit was also introduced and then iOS 8 allowed third-party apps to use Touch ID, like a password or your bank account, great, then there was Ben Gate, here's the thing all these years later and frankly while it was happening I didn't think Ben Gate was a very big deal at all I thought it was a stretch um I don't think Lou had any bad intentions but also i think you know it was a bit of a stretch um no big deal despite a massive wave of controversy but apple chose thinness over practicality and subsequently not only did the phone bend if you tried to fold it but the battery life It was very bad, and this was bad in a market with frankly Android phones that had pretty good battery life, so at best this is huge for your phone. improvement in the iPhone line, but now we come to the iPhone 6s.
This was the first iPhone I could have bought but didn't and part of it was because I was enjoying and frankly reviewing Android phones at the time, but the iPhone 6s. it just wasn't that convincing, it came in rose gold rose for the first time, big whoop uh, the ben door was supposedly boarded with 7000 series aluminum, but frankly just better internal reinforcement, touch id got a little faster and the battery increased in size marginally but the a9 the new soc was a big step forward, it was a 70 faster cpu, a 90 faster gpu and double the ram at two gigs.
It also brought hardware support for uh heave and hevc videos and photos. The rear camera moved to a 12 megapixel sensor and the front camera went from a 1.3 megapixel camera to a 5 megapixel camera the rear camera recorded 4k video for the first time uh and the phone introduced one of my favorite features why I cry about once a week 3D touch let's talk about it on the iPhone 7 because that's where I really feel like 3D touch came into its own, but frankly the iPhone 6s just fixed pretty much everything that was wrong with the iPhone 6. Even though the updates were pretty minor and they still don't have a very good battery, it was a big improvement, but the battery life was still bad because it was thin, thin, thin, you go back and hold the 6s today and you're Like shit, when will Apple make phones this thin again?
I mean, our phones now are like comically large in comparison, so the battery life is poor, giving it C-level at best. Now we come to the iPhone SE. This is the spiritual successor to the iPhone 5c, but it fixed all the mistakes of the iPhone C. It was an iPhone 6s. All internal components. soc, the amazing phone, incredibly powerful, but inside an iPhone 5s body that was amazing for people who wanted that and it was as powerful as the iPhone 6s, but as you can subsequently imagine, the battery life was horrible, it was really, very, very bad.
I guess it's not surprising given the form factor, so I'd be inclined to give it a C, but it was always a budget niche phone and the poor battery life wasn't due to Apple's stubbornness and making things thin like on the iPhone 6s, but simply because that was the reality of putting powerful hardware inside the chassis of an iPhone 5s, so it's actually a good effort and I'm going to make this a B-tier phone. Now that we get to the iPhone 7 The iPhone 7 was probably one of the most controversial phones of all time because it removed, as you may recall, the courage of the headphone jack, which was practically completely unnecessary now, you'd think that would instantly give it automatic f-level, but. my one word review of the iPhone 7 would be this battery.
The a10 chip is the first fusion chip that Apple introduced, so it had two low-power cores and two high-power cores, making it incredible in the battery life department. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s never had very good battery life because they were stupidly thin. and the iPhone 7 was beefed up a bit and made for battery purposes. This was a much appreciated change. It was also the first iPhone with an IP67 water rating making it water resistant. Apple ditched the home button that was starting to look dated. in favor of that virtual one that clicked with the touch engine so it looked like a button but actually wasn't and this is where Apple really focused on 3D touch, an amazing feature that, frankly, never reached its full potential because Apple's human interface guidelines sucked. and his stubbornness for intuition and things being natural just impeded progression, I mean, the 3D touch was cool, but again, there was nowhere in the OS to tell you there was something behind it, you just had to randomly pressing random items on the screen that did nothing. sense and when app developers tried to show you that you could touch something in 3D, Apple said no you can't do that because it's not intuitive and also 3D Touch didn't have any operating system manual either so frankly a lot of people I didn't even know it existed, which I mean, come on, now we've moved on to haptic touch and it's okay, but it's not that good, it's just not like that.
Now you can't press randomly anywhere on the keyboard and enter cursor selection mode. You have to do it. go to the space bar and hold it and wait long enough for it to say oh yeah, this is not like that. It was great to have a force cape, but Apple just screwed it up and ran, what are we talking about? the iPhone 7. Then he also saw. The addition of a telephoto lens on the 7 plus, as well as a portrait mode feature for the first time, was pretty bad on the iPhone 7, but it was present, the omission of the headphone jack was frustrating, certainly, and in retrospect, still not I do.
I think they should have removed it, but at the very least they included a dongle in the box and overall, due to the real quality of life improvements, a significantly better battery, a significantly faster soc and a much better camera, this is without Definitely an advantage for your phone. Not that this really matters, but it's fun with the most color options of any iPhone except maybe the newest ones, but maybe not. The iPhone 12 and 13 come in many colors anyway, now we move on to the iPhone 8. This phone is a fantastic phone and the pinnacle of the iPhone 6 design.
I mean, it is the best that can be found in this type of design of Round body, however, was not a big improvement, they added glass on the back that had the screen. True tone for the first time which some people see as a feature and the camera saw improvements but quite minor, the a11 bionic introduced a hexa-core processor for the first time instead of a quad-core one but that's about it. and because this phone was released alongside the iPhone 10 it looked very dated so it is a great phone but it got old quickly compared to Apple's future phone plans and to make matters worse Apple didn't reduce its price in relation to the launch price of the iPhone. 7 thanks to the iPhone 10 being incredibly expensive, so it was the same cost as any other iPhone, it just had almost no visual improvements, so it really wasn't a good option compared to older iPhones and would have been best suited with an iPhone 7.
So overall I'll give this a D-tier phone, actually despite it being a really good phone, now we get to what this does behind there. Oh, okay, we'll just put this here okay, okay, now let's talk about the iPhone 10. The iPhone 10 was the most significant redesign of the iPhone. Obviously, they removed the home button in favor of gestures, which is something that was launched a little abruptly. I made videos about my complaints about the UI and most, but not all, have been addressed. People go back to that video and write comments like well this hasn't aged well, but I go back and watch this video and I'm like no, it hasn't aged well because all of these.
Things have been fixed and fixed since I made this video, however, the iPhone 10 not only brought a new slightly broken UI, it brought many surprising innovations, an OLED display for the first time on an iPhone, which yes , it was not a big news. Innovative Android phones had literally had this for years and years and years and years, but it was a very good OLED display, it also came with a royal tint which, again, some people consider a feature, and it was the first iPhone to go back to stainless steel polished. Stainless steel this time for the first time since the iPhone 4s.
It also introduced Face ID in the absence of Touch ID because again there was no home button. Introduced Qi wireless charging to the iPhone. Obviously I had the A11 Bionic as well as the iPhone 8. and even though the iphone 10 is almost five years old now, it feels just as good as it did when it was new and basically feels the same as my iphone 13. It's a little slower, this phone has aged remarkably well, the silver iphone 10 is still perhaps Apple's maximum design is gorgeous, this is absolutely an A-level phone, not A-level, I want to make it A-level,but let's cool my jets, okay, because now we're getting the iPhone 10s, iPhone Tennis, okay, so I'm taking it back. something I said before I said the iPhone 6s was the only iPhone I didn't have, but I didn't actually have the iPhone 10s either.
I actually won a bet against John Gruber because I didn't buy this phone. I had no interest in it and the improvements over the iPhone 10 didn't seem that noticeable and I was still very happy with my iPhone 10. The features were virtually identical to the iPhone first time on a seven nanometer process and it was the first iPhone with an L-shaped battery that increased capacity, but that's it, it was a very, very, very minor year, which made this a d-level upgrade. , unless you wanted the maximum variant in which case, uh, because there was no maximum with the iPhone 10, in which case it would be like a b, maybe a level, but we're not going to separate them, so determine here, now it comes to the iPhone 10r, this was launched with the iPhone 10s. brought the iPhone 10 design in a cheaper, more accessible package with aluminum instead of stainless steel and an edge-to-edge LCD screen.
I put that in quotes because the bezels were quite gargantuan over the OLED that was present on the more expensive models there. It was an issue with the iPhone 10r and I just don't understand why people found this acceptable. It had lousy dpi. um, it was 326 versus the iPhone x 458 dpi. It was like an 800p resolution screen that I couldn't even do natively. it shows 1080p content and again the bezel was so comically large that it almost seemed worse than trying to have no bezel at all and that was partly because it didn't have a display controller that could fold back on itself like the OLED panel that was on it.
Present on the iPhone 10s, the phone was also much thicker due to the LCD panel and also lacked the 3D touch that the iPhone 10s had, introducing haptic touch; instead, there was simply no space and it was also only one width. Wide Angle Camera I'm not really a fan of the iPhone 10r. It sold very, very well, but I don't like it. It had the same chip as the iPhone 10s and the battery life was comparable to the iPhone 10s, although not as good as the iPhone. 10s max but other than that I'm going to get mad at this because I know people love this phone but I just don't see the appeal and I'm giving it a c level at best the only redeeming thing it's that quality literally is price and Hey, you know, if you're mad about it taking your position, at least it's higher than the iPhone 10s.
Okay, stop complaining, now we come to the iPhone 11 Pro. This is the first iPhone with a professional moniker and that's because it was much more professional than all the other phones. I'm just kidding, but it introduced the best iPhone color ever created, midnight green. I will fight with you until the death. I know it's not a popular opinion, but it's true. Get over. This phone ships with the a13 bionic. which had four gigs of RAM, was also the first and only iPhone to be sold with an 18-watt fast charger. The display got a little brighter with 800 nits of standard brightness and 1,200 nits of peak brightness, making its outdoor visibility significantly better than your average OLED, but there are actually two big upgrades with the iPhone 11.
Pro. It's the first iPhone to have a triple camera array and that in itself isn't that important, although it did bring an ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lens system to the phone. What made them good is that the cameras were significant improvements over the iPhone 10s cameras. If you look at a photo of the iPhone 11 Pro versus the iPhone 13 Pro today, you can notice a difference, but they are very slight. Get an iPhone 10s and it looks much worse. the iphone 11 pro was ahead of the curve, the second thing is that it had perhaps the best battery life of any iphone.
There are modern benchmarks on youtube of the iphone 11 pro vs newer iphones and it still beats the battery life. This was second to none and then the feel in hand is better than any other iPhone today. Sorry, while the iPhone 12 and 13 are beautiful with their square edges, they're not as comfortable and the iPhone 11 Pro just feels okay. the weight is perfect, oh my god this is, I'm going to say it, my favorite iPhone of all time and it is without a doubt an s-tier phone between the best of Apple's two best, wait, that's not an s-tier phone Apple, what's good now that we have? to the iPhone 11.
I'm less excited about this phone because it was basically the 10r that Apple discovered that almost everyone was buying instead of the 10, so instead of making it a budget phone, they just made it the regular phone, the iPhone 11. uh really all it came with was a second camera and that's the review, you could get a 10r for a lot less money and there was really no reason to buy an iPhone 11. So I give it this level d, no, that one It is level e. This is an electronic level phone, it wasn't bad, but it was the same as the iPhone 10r, which was much cheaper when the iPhone 11 came out.
Let's move on to the iPhone 12 Pro. This phone brought with it the boxy design that had been missing. since the iphone 5s and while yes I must admit it is quite attractive, I will maintain until my death bed that it is not that comfortable to hold the pro phones in particular, they brought some strange features like the lidar sensor of the ipad pro on the back, super super useful, uh. no, it also brought raw prores photos, which no one cares about and it brought 5g support, which is something like magsafe. It also came first to this device, which is pretty cool but also has a lot of problems.
I have explained them in my video which you can see here asking me where the card would be. Here and then there is, for the first time, a base capacity of 128 gigabytes instead of 64, which is good on a phone that is so expensive but has no power. Adapter in the box. Look, we were all very excited when the iPhone 12 came out because it was the first massive redesign the iPhone had received in years and years and years and years, but in retrospect, it wasn't that great of a phone. Benchmarks showed it had lower battery life than the iPhone 11 Pro and when its main new feature is that, oh look, it's square, that's not good, so it was a good phone, sure, but it was completely vague and therefore an electronic level phone. with the iphone 11. okay, we are reaching the end, the iphone 12 and 12 mini after years of basic phones, Apple came into action with the iphone 12 and 12 mini, the LCD screen that was present in the 10r and 11 It was dropped in favor of an OLED panel and came with the same improvements that the iPhone 12 received, except for the lidar and 3 cameras, and that's it, and the iPhone 12 mini was an exceptional addition for those who didn't.
I didn't want or need a bigger phone, but I didn't want to lose features like I'd get on the SE. This was a fantastic line and the mini was the phone I used all year. I loved it, but that was during quarantine and once. I started leaving my house more frequently again. The mini's battery life was too poor for me to continue using it. Needless to say, these are level phones, perhaps Apple's best phones, the best phones of all time. They are actually very good now that we have them. to iphone 13 pro this year, so why do you need to see this?
I guess this is my iphone 13 pro review. I have one here in my pocket. This year's improvements were cameras, cameras, cameras and more cameras. There is a new one. cinematic mode which I literally haven't used once and will never add prores video which is great except you have to use USB 2 lightning speeds to get it out of your device so that's worthless but the cameras themselves They have improved a lot. and a big step up from the iPhone 12 Pro, they take exceptional photos and this year I found myself taking more photos with my iPhone than any other iPhone in recent memory because the photos look so good, and then look at the promo.
It bothers me that it took Apple so long to bring high frame rate displays to the iPhone, but now that it's here it's ruined me for almost every other 60Hz Apple product, including the otherwise really good iPad mini, and then, since it is a ltpo screen, it is friendly. It also ruined me for almost all other Android phones because the battery improvements are huge on this phone. I have never had an iPhone that is as good as the iPhone 13 Pro in the battery department, the iPhone 11 Pro is pretty close and could get stuck. but much better than the 12 which was worse than the iPhone 11 Pro, big improvements this year, at worst this is a B tier phone.
Now you know what this is on your phone, let's make this a level, now we come to the iPhone 13. and 13 mini, this year's improvements on these phones are really minor compared to the iPhone 12 series. Now the OLED panel became a little brighter this year, the notch is also a little smaller, it actually helps a little on the mini, but others. than that, who cares, and yes, sure it brought some of the software features, like cinematic mode and all that, but the cameras are the same as on the iPhone 12, unlike the pro phones that got updates massive this year, so really the only improvement is the battery.
The battery life is better and on the mini phone which had horrible battery life, this is a big deal as there is only a 100 price difference between the 12 and the 13, it's worth going over the 12 just to improve the battery, oh, there is also a larger initial storage capacity. but it is a really lazy phone and therefore it will be a problem for your phone. That said, there are more and more rumors that Apple has sadly ended the amazing iPhone mini, so I guess if you want a mini, buy the 13 mini. I still can and that's it, that's the ultimate iPhone tier
