Now you can just scroll and tap the ones you want to access that way you can save time by just switching quickly. If you want to see your sleep tracking, you can tap there and it will take you directly to that app. Now if we go back to the app switcher and scroll all the way down to our last app, you can see that we have a section. that says that all the apps we can tap will also take us back to our app library. Now these two buttons also have other options, for example if you press and hold the side button that you will see here, it will bring up setting up our medical ID, our Compass tracking and an emergency call, so if you slide it it will call services emergency, we'll just tap cancel for now and if you hold down the digital crown, Siri will activate and we're off.

To learn how to use Siri in a moment, but basically Siri is your personal assistant like on the iPhone. Now, once you get back to the watch face, here are some moves that will allow you to access a few different functions first if you pull down. From the top your notification center will appear at this time. I don't have any so you can see it, it says no notifications, as more and more notifications appear, they will appear in this list where you can tap on them to see them. What it's about now, if we scroll up from the bottom, the control center will appear, which is a bunch of settings and quick functions that we can access.
We'll also go over this in a moment. Now let's talk about how you can turn off your Apple Watch and how to turn it back on, so again we're going to press and hold that side button at the top. You will notice this little off button if you touch it. This power off option will appear, just slide it to power off and that will turn off the Apple Watch Series 8. After a few seconds, you can turn it back on or when you are ready to turn it on. turn it back on, you can do that, and to do that, simply press and hold that side button one more time until you see the Apple logo appear.
Now turning on the Apple watch takes a bit of time, it took about 30 seconds to a minute to turn on mine and this one is new with very few apps installed. Now back to Siri and how to use Siri with the Apple Watch

series

8. Now it works pretty much the same as previous generations where you press and hold that digital crown and then you can ask Siri some questions or a task to perform, so for example, let's say that we want to set a timer, set a timer for three minutes, three minutes counting down and now the timer started on our Apple Watch we can still get out of that by just pressing that Crown, we can start using the watch however we want, we can tell Siri It stops the timer and you can ask Siri to give you instructions, set reminders, weather scores for different sporting events and anything you can think of, you can try and use with Siri.
Now there are some settings that you can access with Siri as well and if we go to the Settings app on the Apple Watch, that's this one here and we scroll down. A little bit here you will see that there is a Siri option. If we tap on it, you can also have all these different settings set up for Siri, so the first one that's enabled we'll hear that key phrase there and when. you say you would just say set a stopwatch or directions to get to wherever and that's a great way plus there's also a boost for talking so when the

apple

watch is on your wrist you're just going to lift it up to your face and if you start talking.
Siri will also be activated. The third option to activate Siri is to press the digital crown and that is what we were seeing just a second ago. Now the rest of these options are a little more advanced. You can check them out if you'd like and you can configure them however you want, but that's a basic introduction to Siri on the Apple Watch series 8. Now, one of the biggest features of the Apple Watch and the most fun is the watch faces and the ability to personalize. change them and have fun with them all together now you can see it on my iPhone when I open the watch app.
I have my watch face on top. I only have one on this new Apple Watch, but if I press and hold the Apple button. watch itself you can see I can edit this watch face right from here so I'm going to tap edit and now I have the style that I can edit and you can see there's a little dial there so if I use the crown I can scroll and it's doing some small changes, so he removed the three and nine. If I scroll up you can see that all the numbers are starting to come back so that's the customization with this particular watch face we can also flip to the right side and now we have some additional options that we can flip again and they can see that you will be able to change the color here directly from the Apple watch.
If we flip back here, we can change the background color so there's a There are a lot of things you can do right from the Apple Watch and you can continue to swipe right as many times as you can and this is where the complications come into play and These are some of the features you can add to the corners in this particular case. with this Apple watch face, so if we tap on there we have the weather and we can scroll through the options to have Weather Network, we can add workout watches, YouTube music if we want, we're going to put that in there and you can do that. the same with each one of those Corners, so that's the end of this customization in this particular watch app, so when you're done, just click on that digital crown and tap on it to activate it and that's our new watch face. completely personalized watch the way I like it.
Plus, you can customize these watch faces from your Apple Watch app on the iPhone and it's even better because you have more space to work with, so you have all these examples down here of what you can do and you can see them. before you touch them, what will be your complications, set it as your current watch face, even remove the watch face directly from there and now adding additional watch faces is always good, that way you can switch between your watch faces for the different events that you could attend or the different settings that you are in, so for this we will once again tap and hold on the watch face, this time we are going to swipe to the left and this new option will appear if we tap on it , we'll go through a whole list here of different watch faces that we can look at and review and we can add them right from the Apple Watch, but it's a little small here, so let's do it from the iPhone app and for We have a dedicated area at the bottom called face gallery and this opens up the full list of watch faces that we can choose from and we can just go through this list and see the ones we want and I like these.
It looks more red here and it has a lot of complications, so let's tap on that and we can set the colors, we can go through the different sections here on the timeline and we can even add what complications are here, so if we don't want the UV index, we can go down and have the temperature when you're done just tap add it's going to add it down there and now if we go back to our main page we have a second watch face again just by tapping and holding and then now you can toggle right or To the left to see all your watch faces and then simply tap to activate the one you want now while wearing your Apple Watch updates will launch like on the iPhone and update. it's pretty simple you will just tap on the general tab on the iPhone and then tap on software update it will start checking for updates and for us we are on the latest version but if you see an update pop up you can tap on it download it and then install that update so that have the latest version of your watch's operating system at the same time you have automatic updates here so you can activate them that way it will automatically install the software overnight and that way you will usually always have the latest version of your system operating on the Apple Watch.
Now the Apple Watch has many functions that are important and great for your health. For example, if we look at some of these apps here, the first one is a heart rate monitor now I'm not going to put it on and make you see how I get a heart rate reading, but you can see that an hour ago I had 73 beats per minute when I was wearing the watch and that's all you're going to do. What you do is just wear the watch, let it track your heart for a few seconds there and you'll get a heart rate that's tracking 63 beats per minute for this chart for whatever reason, but it will do the exact same thing on your wrist with your heart rate. also.
Also, you have this one right here, which is your blood oxygen level now. I had mine checked a day ago and it was 100 percent. Typically, healthy people range between 95 and 100, but you can read more about what blood oxygen is and why you might want to check it for your health and then do it whenever you want. The instructions will appear as you hold it, but basically you'll keep your arm on a table as stable as possible and then you can run that blood oxygen test on your Apple Watch. The next one is this one here and this is the ECG and basically you'll have the watch on your wrist and you'll hold it. place your finger on the crown and this will record your heartbeat and rhythm using the electrical heart sensor and then it will check what it finds for atrial fibrillation or atrial fibrillation and there have been people who have been notified of this on their watch and They were able to get See a doctor and fix the situation before something major happens, so there is a benefit to this, but keep in mind that I think Apple says this everywhere that you shouldn't rely on these to stay healthy or to used as a medical tracker is just to give you information, but you still have to do your actual checkups and all that kind of stuff at the same time earlier in the video that I showed you.
When you pull it down, your notification center appears. Now you can control what notifications are like. we're going to work and we're going to tap notifications on our iPhone and you can see all the settings here. The first is the notification indicator, which will be just a red dot that you will see at the top of the watch. face you have and every time you see that red dot it means you have a notification if you don't want that red dot you can turn it off and you won't have any indicator that way your watch face is completely the way you want The second is the privacy of your notifications and , as configured, display summary when locked is enabled and that means that the Apple Watch will show you a notification summary or a brief glance when the Apple Watch is locked, this will basically bethe application. icon and like a brief description or title of whatever that notification is, if you don't want any of that summary to turn it off and then you have this that you can turn on the full notification and that way you'll see the full notification. details and everything when you get a notification and you can tap on all these different apps here for example heart rate here and then set which notifications and things you would like to be notified about and each app has different options there so you can set up mirror my iPhone in a custom way, for example, the phone app again mirror and personalize, so basically when it says mirror my iPhone, if you get a notification on your iPhone, it will just mirror it so you see the same notification. on your Apple Watch and then if you swipe it on your Apple Watch, it should slide on the iPhone as well.
Now if you tap custom, this is what you have, you can turn off notifications for those specific apps, sound, haptics, notification grouping, it's totally up to you how you want to configure how your notifications will be sent on this Apple Watch, but there is where you will do it in the notifications section, right now, another great one. is to configure the sounds and haptics that appear through this Apple Watch and what you would do is simply tap sounds and haptics on the iPhone. You have the same settings on the Apple Watch as I said, it's just easier to see here on the iPhone and first of all, you have the alert volume that you can scroll back and forth to control that you can set the silent mode, so that if you need to silence your Apple Watch, you can do it directly from there.
You also have the safety of headphones, so here you go. In fact, you can turn on reduced loud sounds and what that will do is your Apple Watch will analyze the audio from any headphones that you may have on and reduce any sounds that go above a set decibel level. and this is good to help your ears. If you want to turn that on, that's where you can do it, so you'll have haptic alerts and the haptics are just the vibrations that you'll feel on your wrist and I suggest you leave them like that, the haptics are a great way to feel what's happening. on instead of having sounds come up, I traditionally leave my Apple Watch on silent and use the haptics you have default and prominent and you can touch them to feel the strength of both and then set it to the one you want, the crown haptics are here like Well , when you roll this Crown you will feel a slight vibration as it rolls.
You can turn it off if you want and if you turn off the haptic technology anywhere, you will save a little bit of battery because that requires a little bit of battery to produce those vibrations silently is also a great thing. I use it a lot every time your Apple watch rings or any type of sound. You can cover the watch face like this and it will instantly silence whatever is happening. So if you're in a movie theater and you have to mute it just mute it or in a meeting just mute it like you have that great feature and you can customize all of this however you want in the sounds and haptic settings on the iPhone now let's go back to the center of control on the Apple Watch, so first we'll pull up from the bottom and this is the control center that we saw a moment ago.
First, you have a small battery indicator. at the top which will let you know the battery percentage of your Apple Watch, you also have a percentage here and if you tap on that it will show you a more detailed battery percentage of how much battery is available in your Apple Watch and a toggle to activate a low power mode that way it can conserve some battery when it is very low and could help you for the next few hours depending on when you turn it on, this is your Wi-Fi signal and if you tap on it you can turn off your Wi-Fi , you can turn it back on and if you hold it, it will open the Wi-Fi settings, allowing you to connect to a Wi-Fi connection if you are within range of one and you will be able to choose your network like you do on any other device.
Now, one of the features I use the most on the Apple Watch is actually this ping feature, and if you ever lose your phone, like I do, finding it is a disaster. now this is a great way to find it with sound and all you have to do is tap this option and your iPhone will ring for example and now you can follow that sound around the house and it will help you find your phone and the good thing about this is it will ring your iPhone even if the iPhone is silent, the next option is a mute button, so if you ever wondered how do I silence the Apple Watch, this is here, it's this little bell icon that you just hit one tap and your Apple Watch will be silent, meaning you won't hear any of your ringers or anything like that, and as I showed you in the sounds and haptics section, now you can set all of them too.
We're going to scroll down a little bit here and we're not going to go over every single one of them, but this one right here is a download option, so if you ever take your iPhone and put it in water or submerge it, or have water, then you can turn it on and you will see a small drip on the top of the Apple watch face. All you have to do is hold down the crown, you'll hear a bunch of sounds and it will body out all the water, we have this mode right here, which is do not disturb, so you can set it to work, sleep, whatever whatever you have, they are linked to your focus, that's why you see one from YouTube there.
I was doing that with my video. If you want to learn about Focus there's a video on my channel about this is a flashlight so if you're in the dark and you need a light what it's going to do is give you a super bright white screen and you can swipe right to get a flash and even a red, so those are the options you have there. You also have airplane mode, so if you want to cancel all cellular or network connections, you can tap on it and it will turn on again if you keep a lot of these apps on, you'll get even more settings that have to do with that specific setting and then we have this one here , so if you have other devices like Beats or Air Pods, you can connect audio to them directly. from here, this here just resizes the text so you can use the digital crown here to make it bigger or smaller as you want for your preferred view of the Apple watch and then you have an edit option down. here, which will allow you to delete any of these that you don't want in your control center.
I don't see why you would want to remove them, there aren't many and then you have an option there to add school hours if you want. applies to you right there, you can also tap them and then drag them to other places, so if you want to arrange them all over the place, you can just tap or press the crown here to set the control center the way you want it to move . Take a look at this passcode option here. You can actually set a passcode for your Apple Watch and you can do it on the Apple Watch itself or in the Watch app on the iPhone here, so if you open settings on the Apple Watch and just scroll down and you'll see a password option here, you can activate the password by just tapping and it will ask you to enter a new password, so let's create one here, it has four digits, it asks me to put a better passcode.
I'm just doing this as an example, we can touch use code. It will ask you to re-enter whatever passcode you choose, obviously you want something stronger than what I just chose there, but now every time your watch face locks like this and you go to open it and it will ask you to enter your password and then you will have to press it again. I don't like that I don't really use passwords on the Apple watch so I'm going to turn it off here and to do that just open that backup tap turn off passcode it will enter the passcode like that and that's it now another feature New with the Apple Watch Series 8 was fault detection and us.
We're just going to open up the SOS emergency settings on our iPhone here, in fact, we're also going to open them up here on the Apple Watch so you can see them at the same time here, so SOS now you can basically set them up in whatever way you want, these are the emergency SOS features so first you have to press and hold the side button to dial SOS and I showed you before when you press and hold that side button on the Apple watch it will give you the emergency SOS option if you want it to be on you can leave that switch on or turn it off, then you have a call here after a serious accident.
Now, this is a new feature that if you're ever in a car accident, the Apple Watch will actually enter that SOS. In mode, you will get a countdown, you will hear a siren, if no action is taken on your part, after those two warnings appear, it will automatically call emergency services, so that is something that could potentially save your life If you can't move and activate or ask for help then that is a fall detection that works in a very similar way, this will detect when you take a hard fall and then what it will do is the same, it will notify you with an alert.
It will count down and then call emergency services if no action is taken on those alerts. Now there are two options here, you can always have it on and you will receive this message here, you can confirm it after I have read it now, if you scroll down, there is a little more information that you can read and you can actually edit your contacts in health so there are people you can call and all that, health and emergency SOS features on the Apple Watch here. They are very good and it is highly recommended that you at least take a look at them to see if there is anything you want to configure now.
Another customizable feature on the Apple Watch Series 8 is the ability to change the look of your apps and how you access them. We're going to open the settings here and scroll down to the app view. Right now we're in the grid view, which is that bubble look. They're a little spread out here, but in that setting you can change it to List View and what that does is it takes your somewhat cluttered app view in there and puts everything in a list like this so you can scroll up and down to access them. all apps you can also use with the crown.
More time to find them, but at the same time it makes your Apple Watch look a little different than the others and to change it back is as simple as opening those settings once again and then tapping the View grid. Next, let's talk about sleep tracking. Apple Watch actually has a sleep tracker and a little icon right there where you can set your sleep schedule, but what we're going to do is tap the sleep icon on the little bed here in the Apple Watch app on the iPhone and you'll be able to track. Sleep with your Apple Watch, as long as it is enabled, you will receive charging reminders before you go to bed, after you set a schedule, that way you will have enough power on the Apple Watch to get through the night and then you can manage sleep. focus on settings that I'm not going to go into, which are a little more advanced, but you can just tap on them and review them and this way all you'll have to do is basically wear your watch to sleep and then we'll be able to track your sleep and how you've been sleeping.
The next option is to change the orientation of the Apple Watch, so we will open the general tab in the watch app on the iPhone and tap on the watch orientation now when I set up my Apple Watch I had it on my left wrist with the digital crown on the right side this is how I had it if you want to change it you can change it to your right wrist with the digital crown on the right side or even on your left wrist with the digital crown on the left side so if you like the digital crown down there, You'll access it more with your thumb than your finger, it's totally up to you, but that gives you even more customization over how the Apple Watch fits on your wrist anyway, that's it for the beginner's
