Apr 05, 2024
Hello chess friends and welcome to the zado chess channel and welcome to our series playing d4. So in this series I will show you some good lines and some good opening preparations against particular

defense

s and against particular side lines of

defense

s because there are also some many side lines, for example, of the Indian kings, Indian nymphs and many of these, very often openings that are played and today I decided to show you a really good game. I think I have recently played against the so-called Horowitz defense and although the Horvitz defense is not the Dutch defense but it has a similar structure and I decided to edit this particular video in the series how to

beat

the Dutch defense.

If you are familiar with my YouTube chess channel, I have created a series. playing d4 but I also have a separate playlist on how to

beat

the Dutch defense and this horrible defense although as I said it's not the Dutch defense from the start but it has similar structures and ideas and I think some Dutch defense players . They will try the horror defense instead of the dutch because they are trying to do a different movement order. They are trying to trick you into going into a different line that I have explained to you. I have explained this knight to the h3 line to beat the Dutch stone wall, but sometimes they, but your opponent can choose a different movement order and trick you into playing something else and that is why I think we should also be familiar with the horrible defense to basically beat the Dutch defense setup, so I played.

I think it's a really cool game because I only had one inaccuracy. uh, there are no bugs or glitches in the game. I will show you, of course, what the inaccuracy is. You can be the judge of that movement. I think it was still a good move. I had a different game. uh move uh lined up in my head that I was winning but it was still a good move but of course it wasn't the best move uh that the engine suggests but still I think I played a really amazing game so let's take a look now at Horvitz's defense and what are the ideas and how should we counterattack uh this setup so I play the move d4 my opponent plays the move e6 uh I play the knight move to f3 d5 and now c4 here comes the move f5 is similar to like I said to the uh to the total configuration of the Dutch defense because our opponent will try this normal idea knight to sit uh forgive me c6 then a knight to f6 and a knight to e4 their common outpost bishop to d6 the problem for me now I have suggested it You, uh, in my dutch defense series, how to beat the dutch to go into the fierce with the bishop to g2 and then move the knight to h3, so far moving the knight to h3 is no longer possible and basically my opponent tricked me a little. that's why I played a different line now c takes d5 the queen to d5 it's not good because you're leaving your pawn behind the queen can kick she can be kicked out with my knight to c3 bishop to b4 I can play bishop to d2 that's why he takes d5 and I've basically undermined why a black generation center that black is always building on the stone wall sets up this move f5 uh d5 and directs the knight to f6 knight to e4, that's why I keep developing the knight to c3 we have c6 queen a c2 this is a very important move that I want you to memorize against Horowitz's defense because it is a delaying move, we are not exposing ourselves, we do not want to show our cards, basically, we do not want to play with the bishop immediately this queen to c2 is a move of delay, but it's not a problem yet we are developing the queen somewhere and the most important tactical threat about this queen-in-situ move is that the queen is on the same rank as the bishop, so maybe there are some tactical threats with moving the knight to d5 and then the queen takes c8 if c takes d5 d5 so far it is not possible because the queen is protecting it but here my opponent tried to move the knight to f6 entering this normal idea that he wants to play his normal stone wall dutch knight to e4 outpost and we will not allow this scenario because I played the idea of pinning the bishop to g5 and now comes the difficult part of our setup against Horvitz's defense.

My opponent played the bishop move to e7, which is perhaps a bit of a stretch. better than this move the bishop to d6 and here I want you to really memorize a tactic: the bishop takes f6 is now the possibility now black has two options queen to f6 or g takes f6 g takes f6 of course it weakens the pawn structure too much, I think that in front of the king we can play normal configurations, e3 bishop to d3 attacking the weak f-pawn, but now if the queen takes f6, then it comes now or the tactic the knight takes the knight takes d5 as I said, the queen is very important here and create this tactical threat on the c file c take d5 uh then we can take the queen c8 and I think uh black really has some problems.

The good thing about this move, the knight takes d5, is that we can't be checked with the bishop before this knight is covering that. square, that's why here, um, my opponent is just after removing the knife to f6, bishop to g5, bishop to e7, but here I recommend how to beat the setup because again, black will probably try on some occasions to move the knight to e4 or they will try. knight from b to d7 then I think our attack is simply too slow what we want to do now is place the bishop on a strange square after the bishop to f6 g takes f6 as I said weakens the pawn structure in front of the king too much bishop to f6 and now we go to e3, although black now has the bishop player, but look at his bishop, it's not that good, we would love, as I said, to have some knights here, maybe on f6 and then cement again, eh, the knight on e4 because the main and this main strategic objective of any Dutch defense player when building the stone wall configuration he wants to play in this knight outpost on e e4 now we have again a clear objective: it is the weak f5 pawn in the game castleping bishop on d3.
I see g6 now building a very nice pawn structure and now it comes I really think a line you should use against this horrible setup gh4 we want to play h5 split the pawn structure probably the best way here for black is to even make the move h5 and then continue with the move c5 in the game my opponent tried to bishop to g7 and we play h5 anyway if g takes h5 we can eliminate this pawn this pawn is a problem there are some tactical threats around the h7 square so it is not a good choice in the game my opponent tried g5, of course we play the more aggressive line h6, moving the bishop away to h8 and now g4, if fx g4 happens, then of course we have a very very good attack against the king, the king I think which is very He is very in danger here, which is why he is not a good choice in the game.
The a6 knight was played by more opponents. The main idea of this move is, of course, to create a very good fork for the bishop and queen at some points in the game. This type of pawn structures it is possible to take bishop take a6 uh b take a6 and maybe cement the knight further on e5 but I think that would only be possible if we play, for example, move f4 first and then cement our knight on f4 uh oh forgive me on e5 after the bishop tx if e5 f takes e5 we could have a very nice pawn chain uh in the center of the board this bishop would be bad since it is blocked by his own pawns but that would only be possible if he would not have played the move g4 if I had played instead of maybe the move f4, that's why I decided to stick, of course, with the long diagonal here.
I decided to stick with my queen and bishop battery and played first to move a3. avoiding this idea my opponents tried knight to c7 we have the gtx f5 and I think that from this point I really have a comfortable game in the game bishop to f6 chaos link was played what we want to do now is, of course, create a very good attack in the g file because we have opened the position, we want to include our two rooks with this bishop and the queen battery with this knight. This knight can still maneuver back somewhere here and maybe even attack the e6 square, maybe the g6 square here. in the game b5 was played, I played the idea of rook to g1 here king to h8 if you try for example to play something like a5 then we can take the bishop, take g5 and then the rook to h5 uh this is just lost, I think about it again for black, so that's why black has to take care of the problems in the g-file first, place the king on h8, I played the gh5 rook anyway and that's the precision, the only precision I played in the game that was rated by the stockfish engine. the engine says that all other moves are perfectly fine rook to h5 uh the engine suggests here knight to e5 immediately of course uh it's probably better, of course it's attacking the pawn c6 uh here and after the bishop takes e5 we have uh dtx e5 we have two very powerful pawns connected we can play f6 and then maybe rook to g5 uh rook to hd rook to g2 and maybe creating enormous pressure on the h file but I really had something different in mind.
I tried rook h5 because I wanted to attack this uh pawn more in the rook to g8 game and now I played knight to e5 so okay like I said my only inaccuracy in the queen to e8 game was playing and you can pause the video and try to figure out maybe the best next move. um uh we don't have any problem uh the rook is hanging and also the knight is hanging the bishop and the queen of course they are attacking this knight twice and first of all we should also notice that the c6 pawn is protected well I hope you can find the Really good contribution because here I played a very aggressive knight to g6, of course you have to react, the king is in checkmate so you have to remove the knight h takes g6, I played f takes g6 and now the knight to e6 here black is desperately trying to get some kind of other defender in the game and now i tried g7 again leaving my rook hanging but of course it comes with the check.
My opponent again has to react. He cannot play king on h7. This square is protected, so you have to take a horse. take g7 we have h take g7 and the interesting thing about this move is that it comes with a double check, so again you don't have time to take the rook, so king to g7 and I played the rook to h7 here king to f8 and now so try again to find the best next move what we should always notice in chess is to look for possibilities of attack what I notice in my position is that the rook is perfectly fine this rook is perfectly fine I have a queen and bishop battery, I think f4 maybe breaking position would be a bit slow f4 also creates complications after the queen gets to e3, so I really needed a new tactical shot, I really needed new aggressive moves that basically force black to react, that's how you should do it think when you are on the attacking side what is the next attack move what is the next attack mode because I really have like I said, this quartet is perfectly fine and that's why I decided to play a very, very nice tactical shot again the knight take b5 what I've noticed now that my opponent is a little vulnerable here uh its a bit trapped here the queen the bishop is a little loose on the board after the knight to b5 we have c take the queen from b5 to c5 uh, first, for Of course, attacking the king, the king has to be covered with the bishop or the queen, of course, we want to cover with the bishop, the bishop to e7, but now the queen to d5 attacking the rook, my opponents tried the bishop t with d7 and me.
I played queen to f3 and the game was over. A very nice path of the queen and in this position my opponent resigned, nothing can be done quinty f7 is checkmate, queen to f6, this bishop to f6 will happen queen to f6, so you can't cover with any piece. I don't see a really good move, so for black it's basically a game over, so here's the bishop to d7, the queen to f3 and in this position black resigned, but back to very important things to keep in mind, recognize this horrible setup, so at first we want to undermine this pawn chain, this really fixed pawn structure in the center that Black is building, so we want to undermine the pressure of the exchange of pieces on the pawns in the center of the city v5 uh c6 queen to c2 delaying the move we do not want to expose ourselves because if we play, for example, a bishop move, black can immediately challenge us with the bishop to d6, we have to change the queen to d6, the queen maybe activate b4 here and I think black can go now. in normal ideas like f6 knight to e4 this powerful stone wall on e4, so as I said the queen to c2 delays waiting for the knight to come out if the bishop to e7 happens now, we don't want to compete of course now we can play. bishop to f4 uh competing here on the dark squares and now playing something like e3 but as I said here after the knight to f6 bishop to g5 taking and then h4 h5 here as I said, I think from this point after g4 I really had a comfortable game, very good, I hope you realize these ideas and I hope you don't mind, I will add this video to the playlist of how to beat the Dutch defense because in my opinion this is still something like the Dutchof stone, it is not the same. but it is similar and I think you can find these ideas played by a Dutch defense player or a player, maybe a Slavic defense player, so this crop, the Horvit defense is really playable sometimes for black, there are also many ideas.
I will also explain the main ideas of Horowitz's defense in the continuation of my series and I think I will add the new videos also to the playlist of how to beat the Dutch defense, so that's okay, I hope you enjoyed this video and I hope that you realize the tactical ideas of this particular. opening if you want to study more the game d4 check out my full list playing d4 here is the link and if you want to maybe study the game against the dutch defense check out my how to play against the dutch here is also the link and if you like this content, too you can subscribe to my channel.
