It's the same day I shot the video where I made the taillight kit. over here where I tinted the taillights yeah it's the same day so if you see I'm wearing the exact same thing all the time yeah that's why I bought them on the same day so I thought I'd shoot both videos and edit them and all so I don't have to worry about it in the future, so I don't know if

I'm excited about it. I thought I'd keep saying it. It's exciting, but it's cold. We have a new piece here. You can see Mopar, so let's go ahead and jump in the car. unboxings I haven't even seen what it looks like yet so it's freezing uh uh and what sucks is I can't have the car on to do this install so I'm just going to go ahead and submit it and move on. and uh, and do this, but let me take this, let me open this up so I can show you what it is and what we're doing.

Oh, we have Mopar. Most of the things I buy are aftermarket and aren't actually Mopar. This is probably the first thing I've spent a little extra money on because I don't even know if you can get one of these that aren't Mopar, so this is a new part straight from Mopar Park. I'll put the product number below or a link to it if I can find one, but basically what we're going to do is the red srt hellcat home button, so currently the button here is all black, obviously, which is kind of white. text, so we're literally paying for a red button, which is kind of weird, it's literally snowing outside, all of a sudden, I hate this, I hate being here, so basically we're going to go ahead and install this, so if you guys don't They do, I don't know how installation works on these, you have to rip out the entire dash, so I haven't done that on this car yet, so it will be fun and interesting to go ahead and take some things apart and hopefully not break them. but, yeah, let me set the camera up in a good place and then I'll start ripping, I guess, so let me talk real quick about what I'm going to use to do this mainly, my hands just ripping. the board, but you're also going to need a seven millimeter socket, so I just have one on a little screwdriver here so I can click it in and I don't need to worry about that, if I need it, I have a a little socket a little ratchet just to do it. easier and I also have a suitable panel in case I need it, but I don't think I'm going to do it, so let me set up the camera and start destroying the cover and then Let's see if we can take this out and put this new one in baby.

I love dropping things between the seats. I got it right, so your first step will be to remove this panel from the dash. It's going to be good practice for me because I'm going to have to do this to vinyl wrap all the rest of this stuff anyway because I'm going to do that and make it a little bit easier for me, so this little door down here, you just want to open that baby up and then you can get in the middle, I guess, and just pull. I guess I hate the force it takes to pop these clips because I'm always worried about breaking. something I think might have broken something, I hope it was just a clip coming off the button.

I'm pulling really hard on this and it just doesn't come out ooh hours later okay so it's an absolute fight and um I need to look and see what was breaking or hopefully not breaking you have a little cable to disconnect a once you take it out. I'll try to show you here. There's just a little cable down here that should just have a couple of levers. Pry up the clip you just need to take out and then you can remove this entire piece from the board. I'm just looking to make sure nothing shows up there are little broken pieces so I'm guessing I broke some clips because these little orange clips here there's supposed to be one on each and I'm going to be honest I'm just looking I'm missing one , two, three, so let's see, we have one here that can still be saved.

I just want to tell you guys to be careful when you're doing this because my uh my vent here just isn't aligned right now, I don't know if you can see it, but on the side here, so I need to see why that's what's causing it to not do click. again or something, I don't know, it looks like it's not quite right, if it's broken then I'll have to buy a new dash piece or something I guess, or more clips, but the bad news is like I said. I'm missing one, two, three clips, but I only have one replacement clip here that I found, so I'm thinking two clips flew into the board somewhere, so be careful if you're doing this, um, if you have bad luck. like I do, then you're probably going to end up in a similar situation anyway, we're at 10 or 7 thousand here, so there's a seven thousand one right here that's just going to come loose and come off, I'm just going to leave it loose. for now, but like I said, this is good because I'm going to need to get to this anyway if I'm going to finish this because now I know I can get to this and remove these vents at

least

, I think.

They should come out with clips and I could take them out, which will probably help with getting in here and whatever, but I'm going to keep this all black anyway, so it'll go all the way here. I don't know how it could be. It'll be easier to do it this way, but we'll see that, I guess, in a future video, so now we have to get to this little cover here behind the steering wheel, so it wasn't too bad to do, I just reached for it. underneath and there's almost kind of a leather boot that goes around the whole thing and I just reached behind it and got a good grip and pulled out because you just need to open this little panel.

You don't need to take out all the other trash and then there's another seven thousand behind for us to take out. Okay, we take out one of the bolts. You see, they're not very long and now we just need to remove this one. one the rest of the way and then once they're removed, there's just a few more of those little clips that you can just pull out, hopefully, everything's okay, these things pick up steam, but I think we're good here again, we've got those clips and they're not broken so that's good, now there's just a little plug on the bottom so we can unplug the boom.

I want to make sure that doesn't go anywhere. I'm not going to lose it. Okay, now here's the trim piece that's just shown. how easy it will be to wrap this once I want to wrap this piece, um, this one should be very similar, plus it has that vent edge that I'll have to do, but it looks like it's held up by this little type of harness. Well, if you can see that little white piece, uh, with two little screws, I don't know what kind of screws, they look almost torx, so I'm going to find out what part it is and what size. it's so you can take it off and then put this new one in and we'll be good to go so it's going to be a t10 torx.

I have this just on a drill bit, although you could just use a standard one, um and then I'm going to go ahead and unscrew them. I'll put it on a little screwdriver to make it a little bit easier for me so this can work the same way if you need to replace it because it's broken, uh, or whatever, but basically once you pick it up. This is what you will get. You've got this nice little decorative ring that's kind of locked, so you just push this little pin down and it should slide out. There are pins on all sides, so there are three small clips and two. the top here and then one on the bottom so you have to squeeze them and then pull the little ring down, it's like a little condom and you just have to take it off and then we'll slide it over the new one and it'll be practically good again. put it all together, so this is the little ring like I showed you and this is our new home button and then like I said, you're just going to slide it like this and it should slide and click. like this and you can see the red, remember with these interior pieces like this, you don't have to squeeze them as hard as you can, you know, just squeeze them pretty tight so they don't shake. or loose or something like that, but you don't need to take them down because you'll break the plastic that you're screwing them into and stuff, so just tighten them up pretty tight and make sure they don't move and then, yeah. there's the home button, you can see it's nice and red, although I'll have to remove it anyway to finish this.

It will make things easier now that I know how to do it, but I wanted to include this to see how. I watched and showed you this video because I know a lot of people were talking about doing this in their car, so now I just plug this baby back in and buckle it all up again, okay, let's see before we click on it. touch the button, the accessory works, let's turn it on to make it work, the car started immediately, so it's okay, the screen is on, everything worked, it works fine, now we will turn it off and put these screws back and then we are ready to go .

I'm not really sure how to get this angle for you guys, but there's a little uh, there's just another one of those little screws here, you can see it there, so there's just that little screw and then these little tabs. It's going to have to fit back in, but just that screw is tight and then you have this one here and then these little tabs obviously around it, but this is what the red star button looks like like I said. We'll wrap it in carbon fiber to match this here, so it'll look good once it's all done, but let me take you back to finishing doing this and then I'll give you a final overview.

Oh, I'm late. Really very active this time uh this whole vent came completely out um and all because I didn't plug it in so I think I broke the little door too so we were finally able to put the trim panels back on even though it's a little loose. in places like here it doesn't, yeah you can see it doesn't click and then up here everything moves and stuff when you move it so it sucks. I'll have to try to find out. I can find it on eBay or I'll search some junkyards for a 2018 grand cherokee to find one of these trim pieces to replace in the future, but here's the red start button, um, go ahead and do it, it works. everything is fine and looks good, like I said, once I do the carbon fiber it will make it look much better and yes, here is the old one, you see the screen still works, everything, no problems, we are fine, we're ok. everything works so here's the old one, our most popular package, so here's the old one. um, it just popped up like I said, those two little clips at the top and then there's that one at the bottom. um you can see like this, so the installation went.

Not a shame, I guess I mean, if you guys aren't stupid and are more careful than me, it will probably be a much easier installation now. I'm stupid and I like to make things difficult for myself and break them, uh. being a little bit frustrated and you know, just breaking things, so if you're a little more careful, have a little more patience, it'll be a lot easier for you to go ahead and get that out, like I said. It looks good I mean it doesn't really like to change too much for 65 so it's not a huge improvement but I think with the carbon fiber it will make a big difference so once it does we'll see the difference uh by inside, like I said, it's going to look like this, this right here looks so nice and classy with the black over here oh, it looks good, so, like I said, guys, make sure you're ready for 2-1 21 uh, February 1st.
