I literally don't care about anything else. - (Jesse) It's funny how involved he gets every time you go out on a date. - That makes me think that Joel is still alive because they talk about him in the present tense. -I swear, if he's not alive, I'll leave him. can be as perfect as this. - I forget how small I was in the first game. This is a very, very different Ellie than the first one. - This girl never gets a break.

." - The facial animation, the lips, everything looks great. They keep doing it better and better somehow. - If they didn't mislead the audience and fake the

, which happens a lot, especially at E3, if they pulled off such impressive fights, then we congratulate them. - I wonder, where is Joel?

Is he alive or dead? How old is Ellie in this one too? And where are they because it's a completely new environment and new people they're meeting? - (FBE) For many, one of the most significant elements of the game is the fact that Ellie, the protagonist, is both queer and feminine. - Yeah. I remember when we were playing it last time, we said, "Oh, she really likes it. There's no way." of every gay person that's watching a TV show and they say, "Make a character gay" because I want to be able to relate on a deeper level to that character and then we were playing the middle one with Mikaela and there was a kiss there and I was like, "Oh, you never really get that!" that kind of gratification. - (FBE) How different is that not just for an action video game, but even for entertainment in general?

I guess I never thought about it, but if I was in that community and said, "Man, what?" Why aren't there games like this?" which is crazy, and I think that's definitely a reason for people to want to go out and buy the game. - We can all relate to what we already have to some extent, but taking it to the next level and saying, okay, this character, not only do I identify with her because she's a woman and she's strong-willed, but she's also a woman. In fact, I am part of the LGBT community, and I am too.

She's opening up all the opportunities for everyone, in all walks of life, to find someone they can relate to, which is really cool. - I think video games especially have always been so male-centric, or that's how the video game industry has always liked to see it, forgetting about female gamers and what they want, so having a queer female character. It's amazing because it's like, "Finally, you've given us something that's representative of a lot of people and we can finally love and play as this person." I love the fact that she is a strong female character. A lot of gamers don't really get to see it, and a lot of male gamers are excited to play it, which I think shows that a lot of game companies, hey, you can have female protagonists and it'll still be a successful game. . (clang!) - (voice-over) True! - (FBE) So with many entertainment properties, there is a lot of preparation and multiple stages in the marketing campaign.

The sequel to Last of Us is no exception, since the first game came out in 2013. - Has it been that long? - (FBE) There was another trailer that was released in 2016, and now here another trailer was released in 2018, and we still don't even have a release date for the game. - Wait, 2013? My God! It's been a minute since the last one came out. But you know what? It looks really good, so they took their time. - They took a while with this game because I remember when my friend was talking about it and then he said, "Dude, I can't wait." And then 2015 came and he said, "I can't wait for the next game to come out." - (FBE) Do you like that they keep marketing it, even though they're not even necessarily close, or would you prefer that they just start marketing a product when they're actually close to being able to launch it? - No, I like teasing.

It's like, I don't know, it's like you find out a little more about the game every time they make fun of it. - I love the bass drum. I mean, of course, it would be cool if they released a trailer and then said, "P.S., the game is coming out in a week" and we were like, "Wow, now I don't have to do that." wait." - Multiple stages make someone want to play the game more. It will keep them busy wanting to know when they're going to cancel the date. They're like the Beyonce of the gaming world, you know, I'm going to announce something, but you don't know when it is the date. - If you're going to release a trailer and full gameplay like this, I'd at least hope you'd say, okay, in 2019.

It frustrates me, but it's also working really well on his side of this.
