Apr 03, 2024
What's going on guys, welcome back to the channel? I really should dress up as Tyler Hoover from the Movie Garage for Halloween as I make questionable financial decisions with cars, although this one isn't stupid, it's actually a half decent car, here's the video that's been posted. It's taken me a while to get this done, but this is my current car that I've had since March of this year. This is a 2016 Cadillac ct6. Let me tell you a little about it. It's a premium luxury, so in the middle as far as trim levels go, it's got some packages, some options, these beautiful 20-inch wheels, rear entertainment, it's got a few things.

bought

this for a little less than half that. , but it's not a Hoopty, so this is actually a car in perfect condition, I haven't had any problems with it yet. I know I'm filming in the parking lot of an abandoned mall and I found a really better place to film so I chose this one.

Stay classy, but no, I

it. Since March I have traveled many miles with it, in fact this was the car I took on my trip to Arizona. I haven't had any problems or unexpected maintenance yet. I actually just did oil changes at my next oil change. I'm going to have to flush the transmission fluid, maybe check a couple more things, but that's routine. I haven't had any real problems with this yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I bought this with 29,000 miles and it now has 47,000 miles. Again, no problems to speak of, it's been pretty good, well yeah, let me show you what the inside is like.

Cadillac ATS for this car and your first question would be why would you get rid of it if it was such a good car? Well, it was a good car. I actually quite love the ATS and that's why I bought it initially. I was able to get it for a good price and I love the way it drove and handled, it was so tight and I would choose it any time over a BMW 3 Series even though I have the BMW logo on my channel. I have to change it, I just lost all meaning. of creativity when I did that, so I put bqt instead of BMW, everyone thinks I'm a BMW fanatic.
I should have seen it coming, although I didn't really think it worked too well, so I'm on my second Cadillac, but people think I'm a BMW fanatic. I have to change that, but yes, this is the second Cadillac. The reason I changed it, the ATS really was that this car had the same features as the ATS and more, and it was a loaded ATS2. It's a premium luxury like this. Both cars share the same 3.6-liter V6. You can get that three-liter twin-turbo six in the CT6 that gives you 400 horsepower. I think it's quite a bit faster, but that engine has some reliability issues and doesn't play well with the 8-speed transmission.
Alright, I've talked to a lot of people who have had problems with that, so I chose the less powerful 3.6 V6 for reliability reasons and you can put regular gas in the non-turbo V6, which is a very important thing to consider nowadays. so it's okay, I'm happy with it, it's still fast enough, but yeah, that's the reason I'm digressing here, a lot more space, more technology and I was able to get it at a really good price, that's why I made the exchange. I still love the ATS and think it's a legitimately good car, but Dad needs an update, so let's see how we do here. foreign IS foreign and now for a quick button test foreign foreign foreign now for the final button come on I didn't lie about the odometer there is one thing about this car that I really don't like and that I didn't like about the ATS they didn't fix this either on some of the newer Cadillac models, but for an American car this doesn't have very American sized cup holders.
I have a Yeti coffee mug that I used to use quite a bit more frequently. Starbucks is expensive, so I try to make coffee at home as much as I can. I don't always get my way, but You know, I tried and my Yeti mug doesn't fit properly in one of these cup holders or any of the cup holders, actually, not to the point where it's really secure like I want it to be, but again the ATS had the same problem, so bad glass. Americans are big and they like big drinks and I can't put my big drink, my big cup of coffee in the cup holder properly and that makes me angry, but anyway, how did this interior turn out, guys?
I'm not going to lie inside. the ATS was a little bit more solid, a little bit more solid than this car, it's actually solid for the most part, except for the center console area, like around the screen, and you know, this is a little area next to the gear lever which is actually nice. Although I was disappointed, it didn't stop me from purchasing the car, although clearly because I enjoy driving it. I don't buy cars solely for the quality of the interior, but for the way it drives and the features, that's what attracted me to this car. and the size also definitely needed more space than the ATS if I had more than one person or more people other than me inside the ATS, I really felt claustrophobic and walking into this is like a breath of fresh air, that's why I did it.
I probably wouldn't buy this car if the interior was worse than this one because I already did my own little test before buying it. I think, oh, it's not what I expected it to be, but I can still handle it. with it it's still tolerable if that makes sense so there we go, that's why I bought it as far as fit and finish score. I want to try to go a little easier on my own car, but you know what I'm saying. The truth is not biased in any way, so 6 out of 10 is what I would give this level, unfortunately, on the same level as a Mercedes, but this one does not have the incredible repair maintenance that Mercedes has, so there it goes in as for the materials.
I think this is a little better than the ATS. I think I gave the ATS a 7 out of 10 on the materials score. Looking back, I think maybe I was too generous with that because this car has better materials than the ATS. ATS a lot of these things are pretty similar but I think some of the soft touch materials are a little better and in this car we still have leather seats not a leather dash although you have to get a platinum for that and this is it a premium luxury that is a step below the Platinum, so I can't rate it too high.
Both cars have really beautiful wood. I quite like this wood, but like the glove box and the bottom, all of this is soft to the touch. In this class you should expect the buttons to be pretty similar to ATM ones, maybe a little nicer, actually we have some bits of metal here on the window switches, the ATS didn't have that and then we got these nice magnesium shift paddles. I like them very much. much on the newer Cadillacs and the newer ct4 ct5 are also the same but they are a little shorter and not as satisfying to grip as on the bottom, they are a little shorter on the newer cars which is a bit of a scratcher head for me, we have them here, they make me happy.
I hate plastic things that imitate metal, this is real metal. I love that cloth headliner and cloth visor, all good stuff, if you get a platinum you get a suede headliner and a suede sunshade. visor again, this car is not platinum. To be honest I wish I had a platinum but they cost a lot more and are pretty much the same feature wise except for the materials this car doesn't have super cruise on the way you were able to get super crews on the ct6 in 2018 and newer cars, this is actually the first model to have super cruise as an available feature, but this is a 2016 so it came a couple years early otherwise this car would have had it, it has control adaptive cruise, which you know, is almost there, it just doesn't have the steering part.
I think a fair material score for this car would be six out of ten, so there you have it, six out of 10 for both. and the finish and materials are a nice car. I quite enjoyed driving it. It's got the active chassis package that gives you those 20-inch wheels that I mentioned, but it also gives you rear-wheel steering and it gives you Magnetic Ride Control, so this one drives pretty well, it's not. luxurious like an S-Class first per se, but it stays reasonably smooth but also helps mitigate some body roll, so this car, despite being a little big, actually handles quite well, so that body roll is minimal over really bad bumps and humps.
On the highway, this one performs significantly better than the ATS because that one only had conventional suspension, much better ride. I wanted to share this car with you finally, it's been too long. I've been stopping to make a dedicated video on this, but let me know what you think in the comments anyway. I'll see you next time.
