Mar 31, 2024
Foreigner, are you ready for a fun project today? Oh, that was a mouthful, let's go over the desk and get started, let's start with these metal

lids

here and these

plastic

lids

that the bowls no longer exist with. I don't know how I miss the mugs with no lids, we're also going to use some of these

plastic

coffee toppers that don't have cups either. I'm using DIY red clay paint on this lid. I'm going to put two coats and then I'm going to cover. I use it with Mod Podge just because I'm afraid the chipped paint will come off, you won't even see much of this paint so wait and see it doesn't have to be perfect that's why I'm not doing it. like freaking out about how it looks now I'm using white chalk paint on this it's actually not white it's Waverly plaster and I thought I did show you that, but I can show you throughout this video I just can't remember both.

These receive two layers on the front and back and are modified. Now you'll see I'm doing the Mod Podge on this one and I have a lot of this sped up but I wanted to make sure you saw the process in case some people like the process you can always slow it down if you want to watch it in slow time there is a setting on

your

YouTube channel at the bottom you just hit settings and you can play the video in whatever settings you want, they were really fun to make and I have a silver piece that I'm going to use here as well to make a wreath and I actually call them faux

wreaths

so now I took a piece of wood here with a little bit of glue I think it's fabric and you could use any type of glue and then I glued it to this piece of paper and then I'm sanding the edges of that piece of paper to get a perfect round now im using both. of these caps as part of this wreath, this one has these cool little things on it, that's going to make it a little bit taller instead of flat, so I had to add a piece of wood in there to help attach the glue and then I'm just going to place this other circle in the center, so now I have these three circles and they all look symmetrical, but it turns out very nice.

I'm using this wreath from Dollar Tree. You get a bunch, it's not a crown, it's Dollar Tree. Vegetation and you get so much that I use a lot on this and then I still have a lot left for other projects and then there is a lot of ceiling left up now I'm just going to tell you the glue attached to this plastic with no problem, I was using a glue gun from high heat on this and it just stuck to everything, once it was down it was down and once you stuck something on it it stayed down which is good that's great I'm using some of these reindeer now. moss and I don't remember if this came from the Dollar Tree or if I've had it forever, so I'm using this to cover up some of that white in that Circle because it's just really bright.

I also wanted something to give it a little shine, if that's what sense, I don't know and then I just take these little scissors and trim things to my liking. I think I actually cut out a little bit more, but you'll see I go back and add a few more things, it turns out really nice foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign now we're done with this and I'm going to show you how I make that hole and how I tie the ribbon Here you can do this Several ways, you can start with any type of point, maybe a nail, and then make it larger or almost anything with a pointed end.

I'm going to use all my big hole punch. Here I forgot what this thing is. it's called but it's great for drilling into things like plastic and metal and so on and now I have my hole and I'm thinking about what color tape I might want to put in there and I picked up this green one and I really liked it because the actual piece is red and then the tab It's white, so the green worked perfect and this is just joining the seams. Now let's move on to the next project. I just showed you that Waverly has Pat.
OMG, Waverly plaster paint. I can't talk and I put two coats of that gesso paint right on the inside of this. I don't do the back or the edge, I dried the first coat and then put another coat on it. and I let it dry and I don't think I modified this now that I'm thinking about it. I don't know, we'll see, but it was very satisfying to paint this. I don't know if you can. Tell me because I have this rushed, but it was really fun to paint the center and once we're done with this, you won't see much of this anyway, so I'll show you right now that you could have put a little wreath in there if you wanted to

decor

ate it, but I No.
I just wanted to use the inside of the bowl, the roundness of the bowl to make my wreath, but you could make a preform and then put it in there now. I have this sped up again and it sped up pretty quickly, but I'm basically grabbing this garland from the Dollar Tree and I'm still using that piece of dollar garland and hot glue and let me tell you, hot glue sticks to this like crazy. I should have warned everyone too. I trimmed some parts of this video and you'll see I have some things finished later than what we see or shown in the video, but it's just to help make this video shorter. because it ended up being really long and I wanted you guys to not have to sit here and watch a really long video.
I mean, they might like it and that's fine, but they can always slow it down. I don't want them to do it. I think I'm just cutting out pieces, that's super important from the process because I feel like they're not, you know, if they are for you, definitely let me know in the comments below okay, so basically we're doing something similar to which we did on the cover, except for you. I found a can of these that was probably in a junk store. Anyway, that's what I'm using here and you see, I just put that piece of wood under the top poinsettia. because I needed something where it was on that slope to prop it up a little bit and you can't see the piece of wood well, the wooden bead anyway, yeah, there's that can and like I said, they're from Prima and we're almost done, uh.
With this part of the crown, you'll soon see the next process that will relate to this that I went ahead and put on camera in this video, which is probably what made it longer, but I thought you guys might enjoy the process. which I'm getting ready to show you so I have some linen scraps like a cream colored fabric here and I'm using some of my Christmas stamps that I picked up at garage sales that I bought myself and I just stamp them randomly. on pieces of this fabric and printed different colors of reds I have to see which one I would like for my projects and I am using ones that are considered archival or permanent that way when I alter them or get anything wet on them that doesn't bleed so that's something you really want to make sure of when you're stamping, you're going to need to add something because I'm definitely going to want to add some Mod Podge on top of them. to keep them protected and, um, last, you know, a long time in these pieces, it was a lot of fun to win this.
I would really like to just sit down and stamp a bunch of different Christmas things, but I haven't, I just wanted something. for some of these

wreaths

, so I thought I'd do this little session here, okay, now we've stamped our pieces on the paper or not, on the paper, the fabric and this little wreath that I found. I think I just removed the sticker. and it was like 29 cents. I've had it for a long time in my

stash

and we're going to use this in the center of our wreath and I'm so excited that it turned out so cute now I'm going to use this music fabric in the embroidery hoop um and one of my reindeer that I stamped and I don't think I show the process of putting it in this hoop but you will see in the video I do it well, I did put the fabric. there and I'm cutting around that reindeer and distressing the edge and I missed that part in this part of the video, but you'll see the 10 caps, how we do that for the fabric pieces that have the I stamped them on, so I painted this black because I thought it would stand out with the white background.
I left the hardware visible because I wanted the metal to show, um, it's silver and gold, which I thought was really cool and then it's stamped and I wanted that to show too, so I just painted the hoop black and didn't paint the ring black interior because it wouldn't have been seen, so okay, so this is what I was talking about. I went ahead and Added that I'm adjusting it very quickly, but I went ahead and added that cloth to the music cloth without showing it to you and now I just added that I'm deciding where I want that bow.
I added a little more, um. The greenery and this arch came from something that I removed to turn into a clay object and I probably could have used it again on my clay object, but I'm using it on this wreath and I'll find something else to Okay, so I'm pasting this in the center again using hot glue and I don't like the white showing through so much so I'm trying to figure out what I can put in there to camouflage it just a little. a little bit, but I don't really cover it, okay, so I'm going to go ahead and give you this information, you'll see, or for me it doesn't really matter to a certain extent, but I cared enough after I realized I put this up.
I like that the top and bottom are if you look at this wreath you'll see that the top, bottom and sides have this specific pattern so I really wanted that deer to be centered with the top and bottom. of one of those ornate pieces, so I end up going and removing it, just taking it out and re-centering it. Now I will tell you that it was a little difficult to take off, which tells me that hot glue is definitely going to work. Stay for a long time, you'll see it later, maybe you'll notice it. Sometimes I notice things that other people don't notice and they notice things that I don't notice again.
I'm just adding a few more things to this. You know, look at what I think you need and I went a little overboard with these wreaths, but it was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it and I really wanted to use things around the house that I already had and that was if anyone wanted to use them, they could, in addition to this, that these things are everywhere, these silver plates and silver things, there are all kinds of junk stores, eh, but they all have plastic lids or even a paper plate, if you have a paper plate that would work too.
You know, I'm going through and adding white paint or gesso paint to this just like I did on the first wreath we made just to give it a snowy, wintery look and I made all the edges of this silver tray. Since I thought it blended in really well, I'm now going to make a large ribbon as a hanger for this and this is where I learned that hot glue sticks really well to the silver part of this. I'm just making some space here. I have a lot of stuff on my desk, so I had this tape left over from last year, so I bought it, I think at Hobby Lobby, when it was on clearance after Christmas and I never used it, so I had it here at home and then i'm using it use my

stash

use

your

stash now that doesn't mean I'm not buying things when I go out and if I see them for a good price or something I was just trying to use things I had here for these videos and I went ahead and cut just this one piece crosswise to stabilize the two pieces and I glued them where the pieces were glued to the top back of this so it's not flexible and you don't have to hang this like this, it's going to hide behind here, you'll see it in the accessories and it may already You may have seen it in the first image I put here at the beginning of the video. you can just put this behind and you can't even notice it's there, but it's very pretty.
Oh, and I like to sign the back of my pieces. I think I already told you all that because I think it's funny when I buy something and it has someone's name on the back showing that they made it or did it now let's start with these plastic lids that I already chalk painted with green paint and I didn't see that on video. I apologize for that. Put two coats on them. I don't know if I can modify them at this time, but they all received two coats of paint, including these lids. I'm using that gesso chalk paint again and I'm painting two coats on both sides of these, letting them dry and then I go back and Mod Podge and let them dry and it doesn't take as long.
I have a fan here and I just put them in front of the fan and they dry in no time, that's the good thing. The good thing about the paint is the chalk and the paint, it dries very quickly, that's why I like to use it. We're going to use some of those patterned pieces that we made earlier in the video to cover them and I'm just showing. You say you could have used any type of paper to make, put these as a centerpiece there at first and then I have a lot of other little things in there that I'm thinking about using on these, but actually I ended up making these more basic looking and I thought which turned out really cute as the larger wreaths were very busy these ended up not so busy and you'll see here the process of where you just cut around them and then I just took my nails and pulled all the edges to fray them and then this is Mod Podge.
I'm using Mod Podge on the back to hold this together and then I put a coat of Mod Podge on the front and let that dry like I said so they stay look good over time, I hope that's okay so now let's go Just add some Mod Podge around the edge of these tops and add some snowartificial. It's just that our metal lids are drying out. We're going to work on these coffee cup lids and these things turned out. so cute and I really love them so let's sit down and

decor

ate these five five thank you now.
I'm taking a little bit of these, these mica flakes, again. I think they are from Ranger and I'm just using a little bit of wet glue. it's fabritech or three in one and you just put it around the edge and then squish these mica flakes onto the wet glue instead of using hot glue because I don't want to, I'm not going to use Mod Podge just for this. Place where it is, on that lip, but I don't want the hot glue, too much hot glue could melt these edges because they are very thin and then it could also yellow where this three in one glue dries clear and doesn't turn yellow so strange four four Five of us are now working on the metal covers and doing the same to them.
I've sped this up pretty quickly because it's pretty much the same concept I'm doing with everyone. I'm going to put them back three at a time and every time they see two, I do the same thing. I'll leave it out of the video because you guys already saw the process once, so now I have these leftovers from Christmas. bag that I'm tracing the circles on because I'm going to put them on the back of these just to finish them off. I'm not going to do anything on the edges of these because once I glue them on and I'm just using that glue and spreading it out really well.
I'm going to sand around the edges and just to make the edges round so I don't have to worry about cutting them perfectly. Now I'm using some tiny green. The cutouts end up having a more minimalist look than the others we've done throughout this video, so I use that little cutout on all three and have some pre-made bows. I made a video on how to make a book with bows. that I only now started making them with my fingers instead of just using them. I mean, I always made them with my fingers but I didn't wrap them around my fingers, so in that video I did that process and it was actually cool how they ended up instead of trying to fight and just make a bow, you know, in the top of your head, but it was still a little uncomfortable.
I'll probably share that video later and I just wanted some Ebola bowls to make a bowl. of bowls made, I can't and add a little. I wanted something on top of these because the pictures, especially the little deer, had a lot of space on top, which is fine, but I thought I'd put some of these up. little um or I thought putting some of these little cut out branches would look really cute. I just want to say thank you for watching this video if you are still here at the end oh foreigner foreigner thank you beautiful thank you
