I Almost Gave Up...

Apr 09, 2024
before, but I mean, again, I didn't touch anything for 30 minutes. A part within my build went wrong. So if it was the cable then I am very unlucky, unfortunately so far we have nothing. We're hooked up with the HDMI cable hoping to get something before the CPU overheats, so we're into the CPU code. Well, we are. VGA is fine, it's taking a little longer this time. Well, there's a new motherboard, so... I guess it has to go through the whole process again. CMOS error, are you kidding me? How could I be so stupid? It was the power cables.

I think it's the graphics card cable. specifically this custom 12 pin that Mainframe Customs made for me this goes directly to the power supply how can it go wrong? after an update... OMG! So this is it. The PC just booted itself. that? Come on buddy, okay, well, um... I guess let's change this and see if that fixes the problem. It can't be the 24 pin, it can't be the dual 8 pin EPS, it has to be related to the graphics card, so this is the only cable that makes sense, so I'm using the original power cable instead of the Mainframe custom, so let's see what happens, thanks!

More Interesting Facts About,

i almost gave up...

So it was the damn cable. This was! This was all the time. I can't believe it dude, why didn't I even check this? Oh my goodness, just for my sanity, I want to double check one more time, so I connected the 12 pin cable again, but from the front just to make sure it is in fact that cable. Yes, there is the "post error". Wow! I can't believe it friend! I just can't believe it! This has never happened... I have had 24 pin cables go bad. I have had eight-pin EPS connectors, even 16-pin ones, damaged. I've never had a PCI cable go bad in over 12 years of PC building, that's crazy. guys, okay, that's it, everything is back in place, all our tubes are connected, we've filled it with coolant, here we go, the final test before we take it inside.

Big Red is playing with my heart right now, best play. With so much heart I just want this PC to work man please at least we know the graphics card is working because you are getting the signal okay the desktop with the Rog logo is next please. There's no signal on the monitor... we'll give it some time, not too much. I hope dude, you gotta be kidding me dude, posting error? It was just working. I'm losing hope at this point. Guys, I tried everything just when I thought I found the solution, turns out I didn't and it's something else.

It's not the PCI cables, it's not the riser cable, it's not the motherboard, it's not the CPU. I changed all that, it's a new 12900k board. I'm even using a different DisplayPort cable too and we are getting signal to the monitor so it can't be the graphics card. I don't even know that at this point everything was working fine before the Windows 11 update. Windows 11 is still an operating system, maybe that is still affecting the system, it's the only thing I haven't tested. let me do a fresh install of Windows 10, not 11, and see if that fixes the problem, if not I'm scrapping this build.
I'm going to leave it aside. I'm just going to wait for the new one. The parts arrive and I'm going to rebuild the entire system because honestly, at this point I'm really tired. I'm sick of that. I just need a bio screen so I can get into the start menu and be able to load Windows 10. It's the only thing I need right now and if you can't even get there, how the hell am I going to do a fresh install? I'm getting a different error. "load VGA BIOS" what? and what does that mean? what's that? "load VGA BIOS" is the first time I've gotten it and it's actually stuck on that screen and I'm not getting any signal on my monitor so I basically reseeded the PCI Riser cable from the graphics card and the top PCI slot.
I read on the forums that it could be the possible problem or your motherboard or graphics card is dead and I don't want to believe it... I don't want to go back there. Ok, we have proven that it is not defective. We have received a signal. We even made it to the Windows 11 desktop, so I know for a fact that those components are not like that. You probably shouldn't have updated the BIOS to be honest, if this doesn't work you may have to go to an older version of the BIOS. I've never had that error, this is literally the first time as soon as I flashed the BIOS, it's the first time I've gotten that error after the subsequent error.
This is a nightmare! Dude, this is a real nightmare! I just think Windows 11 killed my PC, that was my original assumption and I'm sticking to it. Alright! come on! come on! give me start! give me start! The system has published in safe mode. I don't want safe mode. I just want... I just want to restart Windows. Give to me! Give me the start menu! I think F12 is the boot menu, right? Yeah! Yeah! see the fact that we are even on the screen shows that the graphics card is not bad, we are receiving signal from the graphics card, what do you think?
Should I reboot and hope it goes to the Windows desktop? I'm going to take this risk and I'm just... so scared! I'm so scared! dude! ummmm... Let's ignore the CPU fan speed, you know what? Let's try it one last time. If we can't access the desktop, I'll erase the CMOS and do a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro on the m.2 SSD. If this doesn't get us to the desktop, I'm very defeated at this point. What a damn defeat! come on!! please!! please! please! please! please! post error ok, let's try a new windows installation, wait what? that?
What the hell is going on? dude! Why are you giving me a publishing error and taking me to Windows? My God! Oh Lord! Oh Lord! Oh!! Oh Lord! Are you kidding! You're actually kidding! No, I don't want to fight that update right now, oh my god! I don't want to believe it. I can't believe it's working. My God! more like the desktop screen, this is crazy, we're not out of the woods yet, you guys know as much as I love looking at the desktop screen. I still don't know what the root cause of all this was, do you know what's stopping it? my PC doesn't publish as soon as I bring it inside I mount it against the wall, that's what's tormenting me right now.
He is very temperamental. I'm going to read the comments section of the first part and also this video religiously to watch it. What you think is the possible problem. I'm really curious to hear your thoughts because I'm honestly stumped at this point. I thought it was the vertical cable. Not that I thought they were PCI cables. It's not that they aren't PCI cables. motherboard, it could be the Windows 11 update, but at this point I don't even know. I mean, clearly we still have Windows 11, oh my goodness! I thought it was frozen! I thought it was frozen!
Oh Lord! Yes, no, we're fine, oh my God! I'm going to do some tests. I'm going to shut down the PC, restart it, shut it down, restart it just to see if I can replicate the problem. If everything is okay, I'll take her back inside and mount her against the wall. God. I hope this doesn't go wrong, well it didn't take long for that to happen exactly one reboot later and we're back to the VGA BIOS error at this point. I was not only giving up my PC but life itself. I tried a more pathetic attempt at fixing the big red by swapping the Riser cable back to the original to see if that fixes the problem.
I don't know about you, but changing the Riser cable while the tubes are still connected turned out to be quite a challenge. but at that point I didn't care if something went wrong and started leaking. I would have simply accepted my fate after 10 minutes of fighting. I was able to remove the riser cable and install the original one securely. I didn't hesitate to press. The power button was already waiting to be released, but something unexpected happened at the lowest moment of my life. I was blessed with a light at the end of the tunnel, my PC booted to the desktop without any problems.
I was very hesitant to celebrate yet because I knew the same fate awaited me around the corner, so I restarted the PC to see if it was still working fine and that I wasn't dreaming. I did it again and again. 10 hard resets and five. After Power Downs, I was still logging into the desktop without any problems. I can't explain the feeling that at that moment I felt bewildered but relieved. Could the new Riser cable be defective? At this point I was exhausted trying to find the answer, so I shut down the PC one last time, unplugged the cables, and took it home, where we mounted it back on the wall, once again.
I took a deep breath and turned on the power. button anxiety, excitement, sadness, frustration, happiness, a tsunami of emotions flowed through me as I patiently waited for what seemed like an eternity on the latest version of Big Red Four Lives. all three bars have a signal and we have reached our final destination, the Windows 11 desktop screen. So, apparently this was the culprit all along. The PCI 4.0 riser cable is connected, but what caused the PC to malfunction after the Windows 11 update still remains a mystery.
