World's BEST Fishing Spot... Catch Clean Cook (Florida Keys Bridge Fishing)

Mar 22, 2024
Come on guys, this is Victor, I'm joined by my lovely other half, we have Brookie right here, we are in the beautiful Florida Keys, if you are new to the channel, welcome aboard, today we are going to do some

fishing

on the

bridge

. so I found the yellow Jacks. I stopped

fishing

for them until you got here okay so I hope they're still there if not I think they're in this area so these shrimp haven't had fresh water for about eight hours so they're probably dying of Hungry for some fresh, salty water from the Keys, that's the first thing I do.

I get to the

bridge

right away, change the water, so I dump it all out and then another thing I like to do is check our shrimp and look. To see if there are any dead ones because the dead ones will ruin the water and kill the rest of the shrimp so you don't want any of that, it will release a lot of ammonia and all that other bad stuff. We have our Mustang. Perfect 2ob code for live shrimp, we have a 20 pound strong line fluorocarbon leader, one ounce weight right there sliding around, that way, when a fish picks up the shrimp or something, they don't feel the tension, the leader can slide a little through the weight.

Hook leader, like I told you, everyone has a different way of hooking their shrimp. I like to hook them on the tail like this. One thing I've learned a lot over the years fishing these Bridges is to go a lot lighter than you think. you need it, we used to come here with really heavy stuff, all the conventional gear and actually Chad taught me that you don't need that stuff, the first fish of the day, we'll probably

catch

a lot of these guys right here, this is a mangrove. snapper, this bridge is known for having a lot of these guys, they are on the smaller side here but Chad has been

catch

ing a ton of Keepers, they only have to be 10 inches to keep this guy probably in the super eight to seven inches. nice fish you don't know who he is here we have Chad gone fishing this guy is a bridge he is a guru I learned a lot of things from him he has his own channel you can follow him below yes when Chad says come to the

keys

because the yellow Jack is around, go to the

keys

because the yellow taxi is true, so I told Victor you have to come now, he saw on Saturday that we destroyed the yellow Jacks, so now he is here, you guys will see him catch.

I'll cast it into the grass and keep the bell open, so what I'm doing is fighting this Yellow Jack, but I'll keep them in the water the same way when you're fishing for Mahi. Let's say throw in that area right outside that pile of rocks Yo there's the amazing yellow jacket, okay. The next interesting thing about Brook about these fish is that they tend to group together, so as if Brooke and I were there, Chad said, come here, yeah. oh yeah, usually if you can hook one up, another person comes and brings their shrimp and you get another one for Stuff, yeah buddy, this is what we came for to acquire specific species and now we have it, yeah buddy, for Chad, yes, any long time subscriber knows this. how much I love these fish, they fight hard, they are beautiful and they taste amazing.

I mean, look at all that, a lot of people don't know about these fish, they're not regulated in the state of Florida, which means you can keep them. two fish or a hundred pounds, whichever is bigger, they have no size limit, they make amazing sashimi fish,

cook

ed raw fish, all kinds of different things and they are abundant in the keys and the bridges on the keys are one of the only places, I think, all over the

world

where you can catch them from Land, which makes them super special and we are very blessed to be able to catch these fish right here.
I'm so excited to announce that waterlinko is now a channel sponsor on making some cool sunglasses these are the millikins I'm wearing today these are a glass frame I love these things you can check them out in the link below if you go to waterlinko .com and check out their sunglasses if you use my code Landshark you can save 15. Brook is rocking some too. They also have glasses for girls. I am very excited to work with them. Guys, check out the links below. A large company owned by a group of fishermen. Yeah, excited to see where this partnership is.
Come on guys, check out the links below. The

best

part about this is that they can literally see so shallow that they could literally see yellow. Oh my goodness, there are so many at the top you could literally see them eating your bait. Look Chad has a Big Mac. I got a little bit that he's a McDouble right there, he's a little bit smaller, so I'll leave mine, okay. I'll keep this big daddy here. I don't want no little yellow Jack. I want one from Papa Yellow Jack. that's going to eat one this big eh hey you guys like these big shrimp trip wait like this it doesn't get any better than this oh yeah amazing like the outside of the eyeball is all yellow and iridescent it's just a really cool fish and like the part top of On his back you see all the blues and purples and stuff right here under Jack's yellow gills, there's some kind of membrane that you can take a knife and put through, but really I just take my finger and you can pop it with your finger and I'll put them in this bucket, he'll go crazy like a grenade and he'll bleed out in that bucket makes your meat so much better when you get home.
Mangrove snapper only have to be 10 inches long to keep in keys. this guy is 12 inches this guy is about 12 inches so he's going home for dinner you can get a larger Snapper in the keys but on this particular jumper we usually find him between 10 and 13 inches occasionally he'll get one bigger but you get five per person you get four people 20 of these Snappers I mean, it's a great whole fish dinner. Whole fried snapper take some fillets off them when they see it slowed down a bit for 15 minutes it was hot and heavy every shrimp dropped was a Yellow Jack but that's how these fish work they move up and down the bridge on the shadow line right here, oh, there's a fish, they're um, you must think they're predators, so they're waiting for the bait. and things to make me blush.
I just caught a mangrove, but they are not sitting in one place. You know, they could move 100 feet that way, they could move 100 feet this way and you just have to intercept them as they pass. So that's the average size mangrove snapper that's caught here in that seven to eight inch range. You would be surprised if you drove over this bridge. There are thousands and thousands of these guys here and if you really look, since we're in the Keys, all of the mangrove islands in the Keys are loaded with baby mangrove snappers, which is what we just caught.
They spend their juvenile life around the bridges around the mangrove islands and then as they get older they move out to sea towards the reefs and those things can be caught larger on shore. but most of the big ones are offshore, you better get it up before the bull shark catches them. There's a bull shark right here. Chad's there, that was good, oh, that's good, you want the niche head, no, no, turn or die, right? a nice Yellow Jack right there, look at his friend, come on, Brook's got one, oh look, he tried to eat your grunts oh my God, oh my God, oh oh, that's what we came for God, look at that Yellow Jack from the Keys Florida, that's the right one.
Hell yeah, I've never seen so many sharks on this bridge. There's a group of bull sharks that keep circling the bridge and I think the yellow Jacks are following them because we had a really long lull with no action and then like as soon as these bull sharks showed up we started seeing more and more yellow Jacks today you guys saw I was fishing the Carolina rig, another thing I've been doing is just fishing this mustache jig head, same thing, 20 pound heavy duty line floor leader if you guys want, you can actually save 20 off , everyone should add and talk Line Products use my good land shark linked below.
I'll have all the things I use today linked below for you too. Alright guys, there's a goliath grouper straight up. and from the bridge at first I thought it was a shark, but it's actually a Goliath. You can see it's moving super slow. He has all this weight on his head and they are actually closed. You cannot keep them and you have not been able to keep them. Since the 90s, they actually just announced the lottery system for the first time since the 90s glass group will be open. I requested a label. I really hope FWC gives me one.
We could fish and

cook

with one, but you. You're not going to be able to keep them that big, you're going to be able to keep them. I think it was about 24 to 36 inches slot size because those guys were almost fished to extinction because they're big. slow and dumb guys and a bunch of spearfishers went and basically shot them into Extinction. What I like so much about this fishery, first of all, Bridge Fishing is accessible to everyone, you don't need a boat to do it, you can fish. quality fish, I like to show you guys that, and there is so much life even on the days we come here and don't catch anything, you just see so many things and have a perfect bird's eye view of all this life around here, it's absolutely beautiful water In the Keys, it's never a bad time down here.
I mean, we've seen so much life and diversity today since the tide came into the valley that settled right next to the black

spot

and this rig is a little different, it's just a longer leader, two ounce cap, let's throw it in to the grass, on the flats where the lambs roam, and in fact I'm going to take my belly and hook them right here in the butt so that that way he swims away from me, so even though we're fishing on a bridge just like you They see us on the boat. Mine is our timid leader.
I don't like my um my bait is right next to my leader so even on the bridge I like to make a seven and eight foot long leader. I'll go to this side of the rail so I can really spin it and throw it as far as I can oh Brooke I gotta get it she's on to what you want we're on yeah that was a shark and you can see it Oh my god there's no way that I'm going to catch this, yeah, yeah, you're not going to. Here we go, well, we wanted to catch our lamb with this rod, but a shark picked it up, so the biggest problem is fishing with the spinner on the bridge.
Not that you're conventional, you can't put in a free school clicker, but this bad boy here, look at this, it's a spinning reel with uh, I guess you could say like a free reel clicker, so look, I can. set it up like this and then when a fish picks it up I can let it run with it open my bail and then I can reel it in tight and it hooks and now my drag is set to what I want this is a nice little here, hopefully. the shark doesn't eat it we take out three Ballyhoo, we meet Chad and Brooke, each one was eaten by a shark.
Good assembly. Ah, that's so sharp, oh my god, he ate my fish. It was a fish. The bull shark just ate it. God I hope you get it back oh no oh no so I hooked what I thought was a shark but I guess it wasn't. As soon as I hooked, which I think is a lamb, we saw the bull shark come out absolutely smokeless. I don't know, that makes me feel like I don't know how to say, uh, this is going to pass without incident, here we have another shark, I just lost one. I think we are a total of six unstoppable fish, now six. sharks and once again it shows because you see it's like wow, it's like they're with the dump truck and they don't even know they're hooked.
I'm going to show up at school because they're getting closer. that buoy and I don't want to lose my line in the boots. I know, yeah, okay, we're at the crab trap now, so I'll probably lose my line right there. Stone crab season or actually they could be lobster traps too. Either lobster traps or stone crab traps and that shark walked right into one. I should have stopped them a little earlier. They're ready for a little update in the afternoon. Well, we had some delicious Dion's fried chicken. If they ever go to the Keys, we should have taken them. video I'll remember next time, but seriously, I like the

best

fried chicken and one time we got live pinfish with Taco Shop, we went quite a ways north, about 40 miles, now we're in Long Key, we'll be here for the tide. change because that bridge the sharks were just terrifying us and it was kind of dumb to stay there so we'll see what happens here thanks give me like give me like the ranking of the top three fish in the Florida Keys okay so this it's just my personal Opinion because I'm basing it on what I've actually caught so yes I'm known for the snapper keeper lamb and I watch your lambs but as for Prestige I'll have to go with number one cobia then snapper kubera and then.
I would have to go for the black hermit grouper and then the lamb snapper, that's just my personal top five. There we go, we get one too. We made a little stop before we got to the bridge and got this is my favorite snapper grouper bait. It's a pen. The fish are super tough, they make a lot of noise and vibration and the best part is that junk fish don't really mess with them, so what Iwe did it and we will enjoy it all, so yes, yes, until next time, see you, bye.
