Apr 10, 2024
Hello everyone, welcome back to DIY Beauty by the way. My name is Leonev and I am very excited that you are here with me today. This episode has a

dollar

tree

and a

scrap

wood

DIY. Is there anything better than that? Let's jump right to This one and this is a piece of

wood

from another DIY that I made several months ago. It was never sold. It was actually a bigger one and I've been cutting pieces off. This is one that I have used, so the paint I am. I'm

using

a container of Rust-oleum chalk on white linen and the brush I'm

using

is one of my favorites right now, it's from Amazon and it's in the description box of my Amazon store so make sure you check it out so I bought this.

At the target

dollar

spa they cost three dollars for three of them, which I thought was a great deal. I love the unique shapes and I love that they are already painted in these beautiful colors, although you can always paint over them if necessary. I mentioned that there are many. I love the way they look, the shapes and those colors are beautiful, so I'm going to secure them using this masking tape that Artisa sent me quite a while ago and I've used it here and there, but. I think it would be perfect because of the strong adhesion and because of the shape of the vase because it goes inwards, this worked really well because I was able to put one strip on the bottom and one strip on the top and then I could fold it. on the top one and that's because that way it's a little bit thicker at the top to make the vase a little bit more up.

I don't know if that makes sense but I just wanted the top to be a little thicker so I just removed the backing tape and then placed a second strip right on top and this tape is amazing. I'll have our teases linked in the description box in case you want to check it out, they have some really good products. So anyway I attached it to the bottom left of my board. Now I'm going to take these dollar

tree

flowers that I got. I love these simple little white flowers, they are so

easy

to work with and I'm just going to cut them out.

I post every week, so be sure to hit the notification bell too so you don't miss any of the upcoming Dollar Tree DIY content. I'm going to take these two one by two. pieces of wood, these are actually pieces of wood from my garage and I cut them to eight inches, but if you don't have them, remember you can always get the ones from Dollar Tree. They have them one by two and I think they're like maybe one by two by ten um and they'll do the job just fine. You can also go to the hardware store and they can cut them for you.
You can get a long piece of one by two and they can cut it. at any size you want and for a very, very, very small price so keep that in mind so I gave them a coat over the sodium chalk container on white linen. Now I'm going to take this piece of fabric that I bought at Walmart. They have these little bundles of fabric squares and they have different designs and I always buy them because they are so

easy

to work with. I flatten them and iron them with my heat press and then I'm just going to cut a piece that's also eight and a half inches long and I think height wise it's about 15 inches, no it's about 12 inches and then I'm going to lightly sand them. the wooden pieces, this makes them actually very smooth now that I'm I'm going to place the piece of fabric on the back, so basically we're going to put one on the top and one on the bottom and I'm just going to staple it in its place making sure it's nice and straight now because the piece of wood on the bottom just tilt it, I'm going to hot glue just the top that way it's going to stay up on me so now it's time to put another of those little adhesive butterflies because I love them.
We're going to place it on the bottom right of the sign and then we're going to put some ribbon that I bought in a package and I think it was from Michael. If I'm not mistaken, I'm just going to cut one. piece and hot glue it to the back and that's how we're going to hang this piece. This is also one of my favorites. I love the fabric. I love that style. I like that it's a little different. I like that it doesn't have. words on it, it's something you can put somewhere in your house and make it look pretty.
I love it. If you're enjoying this video, be sure to give me a thumbs up. It really helps my channel grow and helps this video reach more people. Next DIY I'm going to take these pieces of wood, I cut them down to six and a half inches, they were in my garage and I'm going to sand this one because it was rough, I don't know where it came from. but man, was I beat up. I'm going to dust it off really, really well and then I'm also going to lightly sand the whites with a sanding block just to soften them up a little bit, so now I'm going to give the whites just a coat over sodium chalk painting the lid and the white just to refresh them and then I'll give one a pretty thick coat of the same paint again to the larger one so they all match and They're all white, so now that they're all dry, the larger one is actually not only thicker but it's also wider, as you can see, so I'm just going to line them up to make sure the front of the DIY is flat, like this Let's make a little stack of books.
I'm going to hot glue each board between each board because I want them to be really straight in the front and back, it could be uneven, that's okay, so once I have them glued together. We're going to take a jute thread and we're going to tie it several times, it's like towards the middle but it's a little bit more to the right and I'm going to do this a few times and I'm just going to tie a knot, a very simple knot in the top, friends, don't forget to visit my etsy store. I add new decals all the time, if you don't have a cutting machine my etsy store has many designs for you already cut. already weeded and with transfer tape and free shipping so be sure to check it out it's linked below and then of course we'll grab one more of those cute little gold butterfly decals and then we'll put one on the front at the bottom from the front and then we'll use the x-acto knife and cut where the boards separate because that way it'll look nice, just finished and then we'll put another one towards the top. and we're going to do the same thing and then I'm going to put in one of those other little vases that I got targeted with some faux boxwood and that's it, this one is beautiful and it's so easy, I'm still counting.
Guys these are so easy to suck, I love the simplicity but the beauty of them is awesome for the next DIY. I'm going to take this board that, as you can see, I've done another DIY with, but it was never sold at my booth, so I'm just going to sand off all that excess glue and then we'll dust it off really, really well and give it a new one. layer of Rust-oleum chalk, mostly linen white, and then we'll use the same stamp that I used to use. give it that brick look, this is from a creation studio and I'm also going to use the gel art ink and I'm just going to mix the whites and the darks to create a gray to again imitate the same one that it already was. so I'm just going to blend it really really well until I see the shade that I want and then I'm going to start rubbing it in with this foam brush around the seal part um I guess that lifts it up and then I'm just going to do that all over.
I don't need to do the whole stamp because as you can see you don't need it, but if you have a larger area you'll certainly want to do the whole thing. thing so I'm just going to place it right on the board and then when I lift it up you're going to have this beautiful brick style and it's a very easy way to add character to any of your DIYs and then I'm going to do the same thing to finish off the brick style on the bottom, making sure to line up the bottom line of the previous stamp and the top line of the stamp I'm making now and as you can see everything lines up and looks great. beautiful I love it so now that it's dry we're going to take a selection of faux lavender that I get at Dollar Tree we're going to cut off the excess stem from the bottom and then I'm just going to see where I want it and then I'm going to take my drill and drill a couple of holes or a hole on each side of the stem and this is because we are going to thread some jute twine to tie it at the back and secure the stem.
So I could have just used hot glue and I think that would have been fine, but adding this little jute twine makes life a lot easier and you don't have to use as much glue, so then I'm just going to tie it in the back with a knot very simple, make sure it's secure and cut off the excess. I'm going to take this burlap ribbon from burlapfabric.com and I'm just going to make a very simple double loop bow and I'm going to scrunch it up. in the middle, tie it with a shoelace and secure it in the back, then I'm going to cut off the excess and I'm just going to hot glue it right in the center of that stem and then I'm going to cut out the little legs. of the bow just to see where I want them, I want them to hang right over the board, then I'm going to take some of this pink ribbon and do the same thing, but it's going to be a little bit smaller and we're going to hot glue it right in the center of the bow of burlap and once again we're going to add some of these little butterflies and I think they're so cute I want to put one right on top just so you can see it's like I don't know just smelling the flowers and then I'm going to put a couple more here and there just to finish it off and again just a beautiful beautiful sign, this one is very vibrant, it's actually on the bigger side, which I really love, but anyway I love this one too.
For the next DIY, I'm going to take this piece of wood that I got from the scrap wood area at the hardware store and I'm just going to give it several coats like with a dry brush until I see the fullness that I want or the coverage that I want and then I'll lighten it and wear it down even more with my palm sander. I'm going to take this endless prey sticker that I love on the dollar tree and then I'm going to place the don't worry about a thing on top making sure they're all even and then it's time to Attach some eye hooks.
I'm going to mark where I want these eye hooks to go and I'm going to screw in a couple of holes, whether I want holes or not, screws one on each side and then I'm going to take one of these dollar tree chains. They are like hanging baskets. I use them all the time. They are very versatile and I love them. So I'm going to place them one on each side like I said and I had to change the link on one. I just flipped it over to make sure it fits what I was trying to do, so I'll grab some leftover flats I already had on hand.
These are from different selections. I'm just going to join them in the middle. and secure it with some thread and tie it and then we will hot glue it to the top of the board, as you can see I had to move the chain just a little, look how pretty it looks, it's so easy to do it over and over again Maybe if you have a piece of scrap wood, it's perfect, but you can also ask the hardware store to cut it for you for your next DIY. This one is made with these painter's sticks, so it's not scrap wood, but it's super easy.
To use these painter sticks because you can get them at any hardware store or even online on Amazon. You can get a huge box for very cheap, so I took, I don't know what it was, nine or nine or eleven, and I just laid them out. alternating up and down on the little curved area and then I'll take two more and mark where I needed to mark cut it out with my scissors and hot glue one on the bottom and one on the top very easy okay so now I'm We're going to give everything a coat and a half of Rust-oleum chalk paint in linen white and then we're going to start taking this dollar tree decal, it's so cute, it's for the laundry room that we're going to start putting up.
They are where I wanted to see them and the beauty of these stickers is that they are strong and sticky enough that even if you separate them or don't separate them, but lift them up and reapply them, they will still sting. Now you don't want to do that too much because they'll lose stickiness, but you can do it a couple of times and you'll be fine, so once I had the decals where I wanted them, it's time to punch out a couple. of holes at the top so we can hang the sign and I'm just using a thicker drill bit and then we're going to take this jute twine that I buy at Walmart and I'm just going to put some painter's tape over it, tie knots and that's it.This one is so clever, I love it, it would look great on a laundry room door or any laundry room wall I think.
It would be nice next DIY I'm going to take another one of those pieces of wood, give it another rough coat of Rustoleum Chalk Paint in Linen White and then sand the edges and everything for a more weathered look now. I'm going to take this other dollar tree decaf and it just talks about dreams and letting your dreams take flight. It's just beautiful, so I'm going to put the first one in very lightly and then I'm going to put the bottom one in and until I see what I like, I'm going to press it down and make sure it sticks there and then I'm going to take a couple of screws here and just I will screw into each one. side and then remove it, this is just to start a little hole and then I'm going to start threading or not threading, but screwing in these eye hooks and instead of the top of the side, we're going to do this on the side of the sign and I'm going to do the same thing on the other side, then I'm going to put some jute twine through the hooks and voila, we're going to tie it at the top.
It is a very easy sign to make. I love the way it looks I love the message and I think it's just beautiful and that's all for today. You'll have to tell me which one is your favorite. I can't choose a favorite. They are all. my favorites but let me know in the comments if you are visiting for the first time welcome I hope you enjoyed the video and I hope you will consider joining our youtube family and if you come back welcome again I have a playlist and another video here for you to watch, be sure to click on them and check them out.
