PhD Gets OWNED By Marine’s IQ Score

Apr 15, 2024
Welcome back to the comments section. I'm Brett Cooper, so if you've spent any time online in the last 3 or 4 years or simply experienced social justice issues in the last four years, you know that people often demonize common sense in favor of them. academics with PhDs who really have no idea what goes on in the real world so I saw this video on Jubilee that I thought tied that topic together and it's an intelligence test they did where strangers rank each other based on their intelligence . by guessing and asking each other questions, I thought it was really interesting because obviously there are some academics and some non-academics and I think that ties this whole conversation together and I'll be interested to see what you guys think, but before you dive into this reaction, make sure If you like this video, subscribe to this channel if you haven't already and ring the notification bell so you never miss a comment section or an after-hours episode, okay, let's get into it.

I obtained a double major in dance and cultural anthropology. I went to Loyol Lair Mount University. Oh my gosh, it's like you know people post those memes on Twitter about that person who has a degree in lesbian dance. Theory, it's Sean, us. We have found the real person that we all knew were there, we have found it in digital advertising. I appreciate Shawn standing beside the PA PhD in cancer research curing the world. Hello everyone, I'm Ry, I'm 24 years old and I graduated. the undergrad at harvard recently seems so scared the last guy the harvard guy look how far away he is he's like he doesn't really want to be here maybe it's good to identify what intelligence means to everyone I think intelligence is best defined as your adaptability and your problem solving skills more than your education, obviously the education that you have gone through puts a law in play because it gives you more resources, more thoughts from a formal education, it definitely helps, but I don't.

I don't think it's in any way essential for this guy to understand it. I love that you said it's adaptability and problem solving because that will really take you further in life than what you learn by taking tests while earning your bachelor's degree, as I promise by memorizing. things in high school like it's good to learn about history it's good to learn about the world memorize facts and numbers that doesn't get you as far as truly being a creative thinker being a problem solver being able to be resilient and flexible in the workplace just in your normal life he's absolutely right that those interpersonal skills that people often overlook in school, that's how you get ahead, that's how you can get a job where you have no idea what you're doing and Even if you succeed, you can move forward. in a room where you don't know anyone, you can still network, you can control a space, those are things that the formal education system doesn't teach you, but they are incredibly important and I think they are part of intelligence, so what? is the most essential thing, so the most essential thing would probably be common sense, yes, for me personally I think that intelligence is both EQ IQ and that intelligence Common Sense Street Smart, all of that combines people consciously or unconsciously when they see someone form an opinion immediately like I'm sure we all did immediately when I saw you, I said to myself Maria, don't judge him just by his appearance, he could be disconcerting you or that's what he is, but he can talk, talk and walk to Walk Sean.

I don't want to judge him by the way he looks, dresses or acts, so I thought, "I think he's smart." The first impression I will put in last place. This guy doesn't care all the other people like him. bright neon colors and stuff, they were usually the worst performers in classes, if we were ranking confidence I would definitely put Sean in first place, so what definition we are going to follow is the most important question. I like your definition. I'm going to say I like my definition, it combines everything, does anyone have any initials? Be honest, start there.
I've finished now. I feel like I have a good mix of both, like being book smart and street smart, so yeah, I think I have a few. There are so many aspects of intelligence that really go beyond IQ and EQ, even those two different factors don't really capture what it really means to be intelligent. I also think it's difficult when you look at it in an academic sense. because people look at hard science and you meet this girl who has a PhD or the biotech girl and they say, oh yeah, they must be very, very smart, that's very difficult, but I think of my brothers as my older brother, He's that smart. he went to the Air Force Academy he's an engineer that's how his brain works but he can't write essays like me he doesn't love literature like I do he couldn't write a novel while I would be a son of a bitch when I had to do math but I can write a fantastic essay in an hour and a half and win an award from a professor and that's my skill set.
I can analyze literature critically, unlike him. I like that our skills are totally different, but even like someone smart. That way I still look at my brother and say, "You're probably smarter than me because that's the way it is, but that's just because I think that kind of academia is harder than what I do. I don't know, it's just interesting because I think." . There are so many types of intelligence just within traditional or academic IQ and then when you come out of it with EQ and common sense, there are so many factors, is basically what I'm saying.
I know, I'm not you. Yale I don't have a PhD, but what I lack in those areas is still being able to solve problems and use my own skills. My emotional intelligence and my social intelligence, that's very true. I feel like I did it with Judge Sean. a little bit because of digital marketing and because of clothing and majoring in anthropology, but it's true that you don't need to have a PhD to have common sense, to have a good EQ to have all those other factors, so I don't want to rule it out completely because Like I said, some of the smartest people I know are people who didn't go to college and have incredible common sense, who can read but aren't academically well read or taught to be that good anyway. , so yeah, I don't.
I don't want to push Sean to the bottom, but in addition to my education and experience, I feel that I have high emotional intelligence, that I am aware of my environment as a software developer, my problem-solving skills are obviously top notch. I guess I would say that my entire life I have had to fight to be seen as intelligent. I think I'm so used to having to do that as a woman to step up and be like, you know, I deserve to be here, my first job out of college. I was working at a law firm, a gentleman came up to me and said hello, you don't look like someone who would work at a law firm, you look like someone I would go on spring break with.
I will say that I hate all that. They look at me differently because I'm a woman, what is that? But especially as a very sweet girl who doesn't have the loudest or strongest voice and being blonde, I can understand how that would be difficult for her, especially in a very male-dominated industry like software engineering around the world, so that you actually know that I can cope with what she's going through because I'm sure it's hard. I have the least formal education. I consider myself intelligent, my mental dedication and my ability to adapt and solve problems is what I do in the Marine Corps.
I'm a defense specialist from Seaburn. I think by virtue of what I do, that already requires a certain amount of intelligence and also the training that you have to do in the military if you're doing it. anything that's specialized, if you're in the Marine Corps, if you have something similar, it doesn't matter if you didn't go to college, he's obviously very intelligent, he's obviously needed to spend a considerable amount of time learning and training, and you know . dedicate himself to this, so just because he didn't go to college doesn't mean he doesn't have a specific skill set or a lower IQ.
Sorry, quick question. So you think only certain people can do your job? I think anyone can do your job, only certain people. You have to take the ASVAB before you enter the military. That's not really how much you know, but how well you can learn information and I got a 94 on that, it's not a how quantity. How much do you study why she looks so upset? Do you really think all of them? I think anyone could be. I don't know if that's really what she's thinking, but that's the vibe I get from her. Everyone else seems really interested, especially this girl.
Jeene has been pretty quiet but it seems like she's just taking it all in and this girl really I'm a doctor, you're in the military, it's not about how much you study, how much you know you're not really going to do it. improve in learning, does it make sense? I do not agree with you. not improve in learning. The idea that you can get better at learning is an important indicator of intelligence. I am very dyslexic. I have ADHD and am on the autism spectrum dyslexia means there is a big gap in understanding so I

score

d in the 99th percentile in certain areas and the 3rd percentile in others.
I will never be able to learn another language. I took Spanish for 12 years and I can still basically only command. a burrito, so I have a question, why did you go to Yale and why did you go to Harvard? What is hard? My parents are immigrants from China and I am also a first generation immigrant and a college student. I love this guy. it's just the Harvard stereotype and there's nothing hateful about it, like you have more power, like I do especially with affirmative action right now at schools like Harvard. It's very impressive that you got in because they don't let many Asian students in. right now, but you're the stereotype and I love that for you.
It really makes me laugh. He always emphasized the importance of formal education to me, that was something I really strived for. He wasn't planning on going to college. No, that wasn't one of my goals, my parents were like, well you should apply to at least one college and I was like, "I'll never get in here" and then I went and yelled that this girl didn't say anything and then she just walked out. from the door and I said, yes, I applied to a school, it was Yale and I got in. I mean, I thought she was like a dark horse in the back with the lack of speech, the apparent lack of confidence.
I was wrong, why not? Don't you rank each other from 1 to six, including yourself, and give reasons why you want to do what you're doing? This is really the best part about these types of videos because I have seen a lot of these ranking videos. They're all standing there and, you know, they're trying to be really nice and asking each other questions and then the moderator says, "Okay, you've got to start rating the music." This is where he

gets

tense and I really love it. It's because they're kind of, you know, Dilly, wasting time, we love everyone, everyone's so smart, get on with it.
I want the drama to continue. You are putting him last, this guy is a

marine

because he only went to high school like that, there is nothing creative in your ranking, you chose the person who also went to an elite school, you chose the doctorate, you put to the software developer below. The only reason I can think of is because she's like a sweet blonde girl, maybe she went to Ohio University instead of Yale. I don't know, this girl is bothering me right now. She would rate you as a six, it doesn't mean you're not smart.
I also think I don't place much value on the military. I really hate the things you choose to be, so it's incredibly biased. You're not actually classifying her intelligence. You just have a prejudice about. the military and people who are in the military and you probably think that someone who would go to the military obviously has a lower IQ maybe doesn't have other options like growing up please like this man was serving our country he gave up their freedom. To work four hours he is in a specialized role for which he has had to train,he had to take tests to be able to do that and train to be able to do that and you're ranking him sixth on the intelligence scale because I really don't like the military, great, we're doing great, period, no, yes, period, okay, now the other people are snickering at Sean Maria, pissing me off.
I'd probably do one, two, three, four, five, six, sorry. I am the villain of this episode. Does anyone think he's one end of the spectrum? I would say I am one at least because I know what I am doing and I am sure of it. Well, I really like this. boy, but just because you're sure of yourself doesn't mean you're the smartest, well I guess. He's saying that he thinks he's the smartest and he's sure of himself that he's the smartest, but the way he does it expressed made me laugh 1 2 3 4 five six the people who didn't like him and put him at the end showed some respect, he put them where he thought they should be.
I'm meaner. It could have been like six down. I think one, two, three, four, five, six, oh, I'm sorry, it's hard for me to miss the education part, this is, oh, this basically sums it up. During this entire episode, it is difficult for me to look beyond the education part, which is what we need to overcome in this country, the education system has us controlled from kindergarten to 12th grade until higher education, this system of formal education has literally indoctrinated people and me. I'm not even talking about politics. I'm talking about indoctrinating them into believing that this system is the only way to be smart, that the only way to get smart, to have a good career, to go to the right school, is to be in a public school where government-funded teachers They talk in front of their kids for eight hours a day, they don't really teach them any problem-solving skills or social skills or emotional EQ, anything like that, they just talk to us like they've lied to us, convinced us. that that's the best way to approach education and that anything outside of that, oh, that's scary, oh, the government needs to get involved and stop parents from doing that because technically that's abuse, talking about Harvard, it was actually a Harvard professor who wrote a complete article. and he hosted an entire seminar a couple summers ago about how homeschooling should be banned because it's abusive to children.
Doing a non-traditional form of education is supposedly abusive. According to some of these academics, more and more companies are no longer requiring degrees and that is a great thing, there has been a lot of talk about this on Twitter, in fact, boring Jeremy was tweeting a lot about this because he is definitely against the system of higher education. One of the best things about Daily Wire is that we don't require that you have a degree to come work for us and I love that because Jeremy didn't go to college, a lot of our executives don't go to college, they're creative people, they're problem solvers. and they don't think you need a degree in to be successful, but he's been tweeting about a lot of this and how to get rid of the higher education system, how to completely dismantle it and my personal opinion is that we need to get rid of government subsidized loans.
Unlimited subsidized loans for graduate programs because now universities can raise all their prices, they can create as many ridiculous programs as possible and then they convince these young people that they need this to get a job, they don't give news, they don't do it, then they they go into debt for this you owe the government $30,000 $50,000 you are stunted with a degree in anthropology sorry I had to rant about that so fucking dumb another company that shares these values are good ranchers because they also value hard work and the result more than just a piece of paper just as they value the quality of their steak instead of making cheap money by importing all their steak from abroad.
Now the stakes are high this November so don't be chicken and shop at the supermarket as usual, instead head to good rancheros their Black Friday your way the sale is live it's something you won't want to miss yeah, They have great meat puns, but they have even better meat this November You can choose your favorite meat to get it free for a year, choose a year free steak, salmon, chicken or bacon when you subscribe to any box right now, better yet, When you sign up for any box at goodranchers.com, not only do you get a free year of meat worth up to $480, but you also get $15 off your box with code Cooper.

They are incredible. You will love their products and you will also love them again. promo code Cooper atg goodranchers.com going to college I think you learn a lot, at least emotionally, but I still think you're smart, you learn them emotionally from being in a sorority and partying.
I learned better life skills being homeschooled and going to volunteer groups and having a diverse group of friends because my extracurricular activities weren't just in my school district at my school and being very socially diverse so I did it in college like the hand of God, you don't need the university to socialize, you don't need the public school to socialize that is another lie that we have been told thank you sorry 1 2 3 four 5 six one immigrant parents first generation going to university humble modest with me I don't know doctorate cancer bi me pH God Maria Maria scientist I work at a biotech company we make coid 19 test kits, things like that and then six, it has nothing to do with your background.
Now I hate all these people guys I'm so bitter the rest of this episode is going to be me being petty so get ready for that. I'm going to complain a lot. I don't think you really have the highest EQ of all of us. Tyler, personally, came last for me because the way he carries himself, he was ranking intelligence based on his point of view. seeing and not taking into account other people's points of view, you are classifying intelligence according to your point of view, everyone sees the world according to their prejudices and their points of view, I am seeing intelligence according to my point of view, oh he He wasn't, he was him.
I had a different point of view, yes, your point of view on intelligence is that you have to have a PhD or go to Harvard or go to Yale, be the child of immigrants, that's your point of view, that's not a logical reason. to rank it lower. I understand the equalizer part, but I think it's a pop out. I really see it. I look at this guy, Tyler, and I see him as military, stoic, serious, he's a Marine, like I don't know what he's like in his personal life. Just seeing a side of him where he's being filmed and he's got a bunch of academics on top of him.
I don't think that's a good way to evaluate someone's emotional intelligence. You know, intelligence really comes down to your body language, your behavior, the way you carry yourself. The way he acted towards the group, I would put one, two, three, four, five and six, so the reason I put you at number one is that I think you not only have the highest EQ

score

of everyone, but also the way you present yourself. Being a PhD student, I think it's like the girl who is semi-narcissistic and everything about herself has the highest EQ that we need to fix what we value as a society in terms of emotional intelligence, I guess, and I give myself a six because I feel which might be the weakest in terms of actual IQ score.
Hopefully I can make up for everything else, so he put me as the least intelligent. However, if it can't be me, I definitely think Tyler, unfortunately, his way of thinking is linear and me. I think intelligence is almost like a sphere, it's an image and right now it's just coloring with a color that you don't know with the rainbow, but also, as you basically just argued, intelligence can be a sphere, it could be all the colors of the rainbow so just because he thinks about it one way doesn't necessarily mean he's not as intelligent just because he has a vision of intelligence doesn't mean he's not as intelligent literally you yourself said it's a sphere the arc iris I don't know but I like that Shawn put himself last, not because I think he's stupid, but my heart goes out to Tyler, so I say: I know you're smart, I know you're not last, but the last .
The fact that the dance that an anthropology student put on last makes me laugh, maybe he's aware that in this room I don't know the way this all happened, it just makes me laugh, so who got the greatest number one? Who got it? most there also feel like you are definitely free, right? Maria says, oh me, I'm so mean, I'm pretty sure I should apologize. I'm so sorry, education is one of those topics that really motivates me because I feel like I'm qualified to talk about this because literally, short of going to boarding school, I had every type of academic experience growing up, from kindergarten to 12 , I went to a public school, I went to a private school, I went to an online school, I was homeschooled for a while, I went to a drama school like that it's like I've seen it all and I know that my non-traditional education it's the reason I can do what I do today why my social skills are the way they are today the reason I went I was able to get into the university I wanted to go to, which was a high ranking university and although I say that no need to go, I personally wanted to go and found a way that was financially responsible. for me to go, but I attribute all of that to my very nontraditional educational experience and how tailored it was for me and how fantastic and how much you know I loved it and I want to give it to my kids.
I'm excited because it's the Next Generation, we're talking about the state of our country, the state of our society, and we're worried about, for example, why don't we focus on education? Why don't we focus on school choice? and in completely dismantling this? Absolutely terrible, terrible government institution that is ruining the future of these young people. If we want a future for our country, our society and Western civilization, we must focus on young people and we must focus on education. We model our educational system based on the prison system. Do you think that is going to be effective?
No, and now we've taught young people this lie about higher education, that they need it, that they need to go into $50,000 worth of debt to be able to get a piece of paper and be able to Oh, I hope to get a job anyway, that's why I'm being petty and making fun of these people. I think I expected to be ranked a little lower at first glance and the first interaction with me it's hard to tell how smart I am. Is it hard to tell how smart someone is? She really reminds me of my sorority sisters at UCLA.
I was one of two liberal arts majors, I feel like I was in my pledge class and we were a very, very small minority in the sorority like Everything like they were all hard science majors. Brilliant young women. They all liked doing research grants. Do scholarships in the summer. Like a mathematician. I can't even express it, but they were all like normal city girls. idea until you get to know them, so I like to see them in her and I understand it and like I said at the beginning, I can see how people might underestimate her just because of her personality and her blondeness and all that, but it's good that she's aware of herself and doesn't seem too upset about it, she knows the situation and seems to have a lot of confidence in her intelligence, which is a very good thing, it's all you can ask of anyone who is upset with their situation, I think. it makes sense that she's down here like the guy who graduated high school and then joined the military.
She probably wouldn't be on top if she were in her place. She definitely would have ranked me among the lowest as well. I feel like there might be a bias in terms of classification. You're okay, I was thinking very well, but I agree with the classification. Oh, so you want to move out of town so I can be upstairs? I think you're probably the smartest of all. Of us, it would feel weird to put you there and not recognize the dynamic in which we did it, now they're doing their IQ test. I appreciate that Tyler is just on his phone or he's already done.
Did she do it so quickly? He is like me. I'm going to scroll through Twitter to see what n Wakeness posts today. He's already done it, so number one is Raymond. Number two would be Kaylee. Number three would be Tyler and number four would be Sha. Number five is Shawn and number six is. Maria, we're just taking a moment, can we take a moment? It feels good, itfeel good, oh I love the Redemption Arc for the blonde girl and for sweet Tyler, you show them the dark horses coming from behind and then Maria, we do the test. so bad, this is like a perfect story, there was a beginning, a middle and an end, there was an arc, there is a character.
Arc, this is the beginning of Maria's villain era, she look how upset she is, oh, she's angry, oh, shaking her head, see that head shake? I'm about to talk about how IQ tests don't mean anything. Guarantee after all his speech about what IQ tests and EQ and common sense are like, he's about to throw it out the window. I think an IQ test proves something. I don't think it's intelligence. It is definitely testing something that IQ tests are now known to be flawed and based on incorrect sample sizes. I have very severe dyslexia. There are two questions on that test that I automatically basically can't answer.
I'm sure if you studied for an IQ test, you would do much better, yes, IQ tests are just one aspect or way of measuring intelligence. Going back to intelligence, it's not just your IQ, it's your IQ, it's your common sense, it's street smarts, sure it's some kind of metric similar to an SAT and ACT score is a metric for getting into college, but there is more to that person than that test that comes here today and says the EQ. That was the first time I heard that term in my life. This is my villain Redemption Arc and cl up lad.
I loved this video, I had a lot of fun, I got to rant about education, something I don't think I've done in a long time, so if you're new to the show, welcome, it's one of the topics I'm most passionate about. I just haven't talked about it recently, I should do it more because it felt really, really good. I wanted to read the comments, although someone said it's funny that Maria said intelligence is EQ, IQ, and common sense, but when you get the lowest IQ it's no longer a factor, yeah. when everyone is ranked in the mid to low tier the IQ test doesn't really matter, you were just overconfident and got screwed, someone else said that the fact that Tyler handled the humiliation so calmly shows that he can control his emotions and who is also smart, that's an Excellent point, Maria's whole thing about I really don't know about his EQ and like I said, you know a lot of the intelligence was left there while you all ranked him as the number six in his career due to the fact that he. he didn't go to college because of his supposed Intelligence, because of his supposed emotional IQ and he just stood there and took it and in the end said yes.
I can understand why the fact that he's able to empathize and step outside of himself into the obvious like pain and shame and I'm like yeah, I get it, I have the perspective, I deal with it a lot, that's impressive, someone said Maria didn't just end last, finished last by a pretty long distance, really honored and after her little, show me all that stuff, you know. it's normal, it's normal to root for the underdog to win and for someone like that, the queen bee to get eliminated, it's basically Hollywood Guys, someone else said Maria is so narcissistic, but Tyler's Revenge Arc is crazy again, this is literally a movie , someone else. said it's amazing how they were able to rank the projected IQ, but once the results came out, IQ tests are not reliable, someone else said, as a PhD student, I can tell you from the beginning and from experience that having a degree Taller doesn't mean smarter.
I think it can make you less intelligent because you spend so much time in school. I'm not saying any doctor is smart. I'm not saying that at all, but I do think it's dangerous to be in school and out of the real world for so long I've been talked to about taking all the experiences of other teachers without ever being in the real world and having a normal job in your field. I think that is dangerous because your mind has not stopped being shaped by these AC microphones that also lack much experience in the real world, since academics are very important teachers and professors are very important, but they spend their entire lives thinking in circles, so what this person says makes sense because they are stuck in this bubble for 10 years.
Your education is fantastic. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching this episode in the comments section. I hope you enjoyed it and maybe even learned something. If you haven't liked this video yet, subscribe to this channel and, of course, call. Notification bell so you never miss an episode
