I know it's hard not being able to go out and do some shopping at Dollar Trees or thrift stores, but I think this might be the time. when we get more creative I hope you all stay safe and keep the faith so if you are ready let's start with our first project we will start with a

dollar

tree

, clear plastic salad bowls, a plastic snack container I think So this one had pretzels, some Waverly white chalk paint and some antique wax, some gorilla glue or East 6000, our glue gun scissors and a knife and the first thing we're going to do is cut the bottom of our container and this has kind of a little rounded edge, so I wanted to keep that edge intact because I want to turn it into something that looks a little bit like ceramic, so that once you have a long enough indentation you can place the scissors there and then you can just cut. the edge of that background and then if there are any bumpy chips of Zoar left, just cut them off and make sure it's as flat as possible and then I took a piece of sandpaper and sanded it smooth because I'm going to have this mouth down on the counter so it needs to be as flat as possible so now I'm going to take my white chalk paint and I'm going to paint the entire surface of both the bottom and the bowl and I wanted this to look like ceramic and This is a Pottery bowl Barn and this video was supposed to be part of the Less challenge that Yami does with the Latina next door and I'll link that playlist in the description box below, but I didn't make it. time so I threw in the towel and decided to do it another day so here we are but the look I'm trying to achieve is a terracotta pot that has been painted so as you know when you paint terracotta it has some bumps , nooks and crannies and I wanted to give it that look where it's not perfectly smooth, so I just took my soft bristle brush and didn't even do a crosshatch pattern.

More Interesting Facts About,

I don't want any patterns, so I'm going to make it in some places a little bit taller, a little bit thicker and then in other places a little bit thinner and then once it starts to dry, you can drag the brush into the semi-dry paint and it will leave some texture so I really like that look and think. it gives it a realistic ceramic look and then once it was almost completely dry I went back and did some quick thick strokes with a completely wet brush to give it a handmade ceramic look and then the inside was very shiny, so we didn't want that so I went in and put some paint on it too so that if it was empty you could see it and it would look worn and hand made so to attach the pillar to the bull, I took my Gorilla glue and did a stepped line around the edge and then I went back in with my hot glue gun so the two don't mix and the hot glue is for immediate sticking and the e6000 or Gorilla Glue is for a great long term hold, so once I centered it and put it in the container, I went in with my Waverly aged wax and took a very, very dry brush and in fact I didn't even charge my brush at any point.

I was doing this. I store my wet brushes in plastic bags so they don't dry out if I'm going to use them again, so this was leftover paint from a previous DIY, so I didn't even put any more on. That's how light I wanted it to be, but when I went in and put it in the container it turned out really pretty because it really gave those textures to the painting, it really stood out and made it look old and authentic, and I think it looks exactly like ceramic and not I had to pay ninety-nine

dollar

s for it.

I paid a dollar and this is how it turned out and oh my god I'm so in love with this. I was thinking maybe my painting skills are improving but Don't even think it's because you saw me, I was just slapping it on that bowl like it was nothing so I think my grandkids could have done this and I love how it turned out. I also love the table runner and the napkins you see the Buffalo check and those are front drawers and my friend Cynthia sent me some discount codes for you guys but these things are sturdy they are very pretty and durable and that table runner It's $13.48, it's a great buy, so it's almost like you guys.
I don't even need a discount code but they have free shipping so I don't link anything I don't believe in and these are gorgeous so for our next project we're going to use the top of that pretzel container. and then this non slip rug backing from Dollar Tree and then I had a luau for one of my kids a long time ago and this is just a net that we had some nautical rope left over and the Dollar Tree kind would work much better, but No I have none, this is the kind from Walmart and then some Mod Podge and some rusty white paint or whatever type of white spray paint you have and then our hot glue gun and scissors and the first thing I'm going to do What I have to do is put on this base layer.
I'm going to cut it into a strip and place it on the bottom of my container which is actually the top so what I was looking for was this style and this is from Kirklands and it was only $30. This was one I was going to make for the look for less and $30 is not a huge amount, but I still wouldn't pay it for that, but I think I can do it cheaper, it won't be exactly the same, but this. It will also cost almost a dollar so I'm just going to put a little bit of hot glue on the top edge of my container and then I'm going to roll my net over that and I want to try to get as straight a line of glue as possible. possibly can and then I just roll it up to there and then once I get to the end I'm going to cut it to the right size and then I'm going to trim the bottom so it's a little bit easier to handle and then I'm going to cut some strips on the bottom so I can make them around the rounded edge of the vase and then I'm going to use my hot glue to pleat them and attach them all together at the bottom. below so you guys saw I added my lid back in there and now I'm going to add the net so I just measured around the container and I'm going to decide how wide I want it to be so I can get three layers of touchi goodness on this so I cut a little strip and I'll use my Mod Podge to start and then I ended up having to use a little bit of hot glue because the Mod Podge takes a little while to dry and then once I have it there I'll go back in with my Mod Podge and go through on top of the net so it really sits there and I just work on small areas at a time so it's easier to manage and then once I get back to the other side I make sure that where I stop and start on all of these pieces will be on the same place so they can all be on the back and that doesn't show from the front and then I hot glued it to the back so I'm going to finish the rest of the way using my nautical rope and I started with some hot glue and again I worked in small areas and I put the glue down and then I put the rope right on top of it and I overlapped it over the net so you couldn't see the ends of the net and then I'm going to go all the way up and then once to reach to the top, I'm going to do a final round just to give it more stability and so you can't see that there's plastic under there, so I went in with my scissors and tried to cut out all the crazy stray fibers that were on the rope and the rope from Dollar Tree isn't as crazy as this one and I love the fibers and I love the textures, but for this project it just wasn't a good thing because we're going to paint this, so A sweet viewer recommended I use a lighter to get rid of a lot of debris when it comes to twine or string like this and this is really fun and my fan was going so I probably should have turned it off before doing it but then I'm going to add another piece of string to the bottom just to clean up that bottom edge and then once it's all in place and I'm ready to go, I'll take it outside and spray paint it all. completely white so here I am painting in the dark and this is because I really wanted to participate in Yami's Look for Less challenge so I tried my best to do it but I didn't so it ended up having 50 people on your playlist so It was amazing and I'm sure no one missed me but that's how it turned out and I love how it has so many textures and like I said it's not like the original version but it just gave me the inspiration and that's what we want to do.
It doesn't have to be exact here, but I still love it and it looked more rustic and

farmhouse

to me in this form than the original because it's much brighter and looks like porcelain, but I think it turned out great. Cute and I hope you like it for our next project. I'm going to use two glass jars and I thought that was cute. He had a ker and a ball. Two of these silver trays from Dollar Tree. Some jute twine. A little white chalk. paint and some Waverly wax on antiques and then I'll use my drill well, not really it'll be Michael J who does it but I could if he wasn't here so also our hot glue gun and our scissors so I'll go to mark the places where I need to drill my holes and I went down a little less than halfway so that my jars hang in the right place so if I put greenery in there it will still be in front of the sconce and then I knew I smelled something good in the kitchen and Michael J was doing a super Tuscan Kido style and had to take a break from drilling my holes, but man, it was really nice to have lunch as soon as we were done with this project, so all he did was take the drill and put both trays together so he could drill them at the same time and that wood is sure the holes would be in the same place so he took a 2x4 and put it inside a box so the metal shavings wouldn't get everywhere so here it is , he is so cute.
Many viewers have asked me if it is available to rent, so if anyone is in Bakersfield. area and I need help he will be more than happy to oblige so now that all my holes are drilled I'm going to take my chalk paint and paint over the front of the trays and I would have painted the back but I'm not really running out Waverly chalk paint so I have to order some and I couldn't find any but anyway I'm running a little low on paint otherwise you should paint the back of these but since they will be on the wall. there is a little edge on the edges of these trays so I painted around those edges and then I'm going to paint my glass jars and I'm going to keep them white and I'm going to finish sanding them and then for the trays once the white paint dries I'm going to go back to use my wax on antique and give it a wood tone finish, so I leave it there first and then you're supposed to wipe it off with a paper towel. or a rag or something to make it look like this, I just choked it to make it lighter wood, but I didn't want it as dark as it still was, so I came back with a little more white, so when you use this It's very easy become too dark or too light so all you have to do is add a little more dark or add a little more white to lighten it and vice versa but one thing I learned is that when you make two pieces that should match you should follow the same steps on each of those elements to match because it took me a little while to get the match done once I finished the first one and then to get the other one to look exactly like it, so now I'm just taking my role as sand and rub the raised areas and it's very easy to remove if the paint isn't one hundred percent dry, but if you run into an area that's difficult to sand, I've had beholders.
I recommend drinking a little bit of water and it makes it much easier to remove the paint, so before I put my jars in, I'm going to put my hangars in the back and I just take a chenille stem, fold it in half and then I glue with hot glue. towards the back and then I just take a little piece of material and put it in the glue as well just to give it more stability, so then I'll take some jute twine and then I'll put the lid on my jar without the round. part in the middle so that it is still open.
I'm going to leave two pieces long so I can put them through the two holes and then I'm going to use a little bit of hot glue to attach them to the trays and then tie them in the back with a knot to keep them in place and I'll make my candy grandkids put your fingers in there so you can tie the knot and that's how they turned out and I'm really hooked on the Lightwood with the white and then you add the lamb's ear and I'm totally hooked so pleasea total cost of four dollars plus the lamb's ear, which would be a total of six dollars, you get two bunches of lamb's ears for two dollars at Walmart, so technically I guess you could Let's say this costs six dollars, but I think For six dollars these are amazing sconces and they don't look like Dollar Tree I don't think so the mason jars can also be found at Dollar Tree so I also counted them as a dollar each. but I just had these in my stash from someone's wedding so anyway I think they look beautiful.myths and I hope you liked them so many of you have been asking about my daughter Christine who will give birth to She gave birth to her third baby on May 5, Cinco de Mayo, and she is doing very well.
She is very excited. She's going to be a little. a little different as far as giving birth and not having anyone there except her husband, but she's still the light and we're trying to do some modeling for thread tank dotcom, who sent some really cool t-shirts, so she is modeling. and we had so much fun doing this and we couldn't keep a straight face but your t-shirts are so good and I'm going to have a coupon code for you guys to get 10% off and this is a company where the motto is Stories You Can Wear , so they have some really good messages in some of them.
This walking with the Lord is my cardio and then they also have this one that she was showing in the first photos, but she has prayer in seven languages โ€‹โ€‹and unfortunately. With that big belly that she has, they are carrying my grandson, you could only see two of them and then the worry ends when faith begins. I love that one and I love that message, especially every once in a while, this was a step over the curb. photography shoot that someone did here in town and I thought it was really cute so just so you know it's going well and everyone is really excited for Conor to get here it may be a good fit so for our final project we're going a I will be using four of these 8 by 8 picture frames that have little messages inside them and then the wind chime from the windmill that you see in the garden area and then the rest of the rug base and then a little piece of burlap ribbon and then I'm going to use my Silhouette Cameo 3 so I'm going to use black Frisco Craft vinyl and tie them together as well and then some Waverly chalk paint and then also on elephant and then our wax which is antique and then a sanding block.
I think I just use regular sandpaper, but our glue gun and scissors, so the first thing we're going to do is deconstruct our little windmill out of the wind chime so that there's a little tabby cat on top. and if you keep moving it back and forth it will eventually come off and then you will have to squeeze the little stick or the stick that goes through the round part of the bottom triangle so that once you squeeze it it will explode. and then we will use only the glasses and not the cardboard of these frames and there are little pieces of Styrofoam or pieces of foam that are used as elevators between the glass and the message, so we will take them out and You always have to be very careful with these frames because They're not actually wood and they're not even pressed board, they're almost like styrofoam or some type of foam, so you have to move those little tabs very easily and carefully. so they don't break, so now I'm going to take my white chalk paint and paint all the frames and since they're dark underneath I don't have to have a perfectly solid coverage, so that's how it does automatically weather if you see some of those dark stripes underneath it, so now I'm going to take my windmill and my chalk paint and I'm going to paint all the blades and the circular part of the edge and I don't want this to be perfectly solid either, so I'm going to go back in with my paper of sandpaper and I'll sand the edges and let some of that blue show through, but mostly that galvanized look underneath, so I'll also paint the back in case you can see some of the back peeking out.
I don't think it shows, but just to finish it off. I don't know why I like to paint the back of things, so now I'm going to grab some elephant chalk. paint and I'm going to take a brush and just apply it all over my base and this is a rubber type material so it's very easy to work with like you saw before, but I want it to look a little bit galvanized. a little bit rustic to make it look like some type of chicken wire or something so this is my version of square chicken wire and then I'm also going to apply some wax on antiques so now I'm going to grab my sandpaper and now that my frames are dry, I'm going to sand the edges and let everything look nice and weathered.
In the video it looks like these frames are black, but they are not, they are more of a very dark brown, so I love them. They can be sanded very easily and that shows and it looks very rustic and pretty, so now I go I'm going to take that round center piece and I'm going to fold the little tabby under it and then I'm going to hot glue it on top. windmill to finish it and then I'll cut out my HM II from my Silhouette Cameo and I'll have the font listed in the description box below and then I'll just cut out those letters and then place those on the glass once we put them together whenever I have scraps of vinyl, I always cut them into squares so they can be used again and then I put them in a container under my workstation, so now I'm going to remove the top layer of vinyl and these were very easy to weed because there really was no weeded and then I'm going to put my transfer paper on top of them and I'm actually going to use a piece of transfer tape for all three. of the cards and I get my transfer tape from the Dollar Tree and it's actually shelf paper and it's in the dish aisle with all the plates and glassware and it's also with the shelf paper so a lot of people have asked me about that so you Now I can find it you'll know where to look once you can go shopping again so now I'm going to put these letters aside and then we're going to put our frames together so the first thing I did was put my glass on the frame and then I'm going to use some window cleaner to clean them and make sure there's no lint or anything and then I'm going to cut a piece of chicken wire and then I'm going to glue that around the edges of the frame and it's always Much easier to work with materials that have a grid of some kind like Buffalo Check because you can always cut straight and you don't end up completely crooked, so I just pulled. the tabbies so that taking them out would risk breaking my frame and I didn't want to do that so I just pushed them into the side of the frames and then hot glued my chicken wire to the inside area of โ€‹โ€‹the frame and then used a popsicle stick to push down on that glue to make sure it was nice and adhered well, it's rubber, but you know, it's our chicken wire, so after I secure everything, I'm going to place my vinyl letters on each one of the frames on top of the glass, so now I'm going to take my windmill and I'm going to attach it to my frame and there are two spots where it really hits and I put some hot glue right under those blades and attached it and it's really secure. because the little windmill is pretty light anyway and you want to make sure you get all the little clues out of the glass and if you're having trouble grabbing some you can always use tweezers to get them out of there, so then I'm going to turn it over and put my chicken wire on that one and ran out so I wouldn't have any more full leaves, but I knew that was going to happen so I had planned ahead and there's a spot right in the middle. the windmill where it goes completely so I just glued it right in the middle and you can't even tell it's assembled so now I'm going to take some of my burlap ribbon and cut it to the size that I need and then I'm going to cut it lengthwise so it's narrower and fits between the two sides of the frame and that's what's going to hold these frames together so when I glue it together I want to make sure that first of all the little sawtooth hanger is on the back top so you always have the option of hanging it and placing it on a countertop, but I also want my letters to fold into an accordion shape, if that makes sense, this way they can be moved. around a little and the burlap ribbon works as a hinge, so to speak, and if you've ever bought Dollar Tree frames in multiples, you probably know that they are never the same size, so you just need to make sure the bottom The line is perfectly even because it will be on a counter, where the top doesn't have to be perfectly aligned and that's how this one turned out and you see what I meant by the accordion style, so I think it's so cute.
Patootie and I had a couple air bubbles under my vinyl letters, but I don't know what happened. I guess I wasn't paying attention or something, but I love the rustic,

farmhouse

look of it. I will have these letters available in my Etsy Shop and that is White Sparrow Living, so if you want to make this or need the letters for another project, go to my Etsy shop and there you will find things that might help you in your crafting, but I hope you like this, okay?
