Habakkuk Part 1 - IHOPKC May 2011 - David Pawson

Mar 11, 2024
Centuries ago there was a man named Marcion and he started a heresy called Marcion ISM and his idea was that the god of the Old Testament and the god of the New Testament are two different gods. He said that the God of the Old Testament is harsh and cruel and the God of the New Testament is kind and loving and he preached a Christianity that abolished the Old Testament. Unfortunately, I have to say that in our generation there is a resurgence of Marcion's ISM and even evangelicals say that we don't need the Old Testament, we can eliminate it. with the New Testament it is the Bob of Christians, but I want to say very clearly and strongly that the God of Israel is the father of Jesus, they are the same God and even Paul said that the Old Testament was written for the good and the Christians so that we can learn from his example so that we can realize that the god we are worshiping is the same God and he will deal with us the same way he dealt with the Jewish people and that is why we read the Old Testament.

I have loved the Old Testament for years. I dedicated my life to getting people excited about every book of the Bible and not just their favorite book. If you ask me what my favorite book of the Bible is, it's the last one I read, it's the last one I studied and that becomes my favorite. for a few weeks until I get into another book, so tonight we're in one of the smaller books of the Old Testament that a lot of people ignore except for a few quotable quotes. There are verses in this little prophet that many preachers quote, but there are none.

More Interesting Facts About,

habakkuk part 1 ihopkc may 2011 david pawson...

There are many who know the entire book and the story behind the book. I teach people to read the Bible one book at a time because it is not one book, it is a library of 66 very different books and only when you start to look at the book as a book will you understand everything that is in that book and when you do the crucial question why this book was written and when you get the answer to that question, you will have the key that will unlock the entire book and its riches for you and you will be able to study the Bible. an exciting journey of discovery many years ago there was a rather unusual sitcom series on your television centered on a mobile military hospital in Korea which comedy theme was called mesh, I think, and one of the favorite characters in it was called clinger , the beautiful nickname for someone and the heat in Hebrew for clinger is Habakkuk, so now you know what his name means and he was a man who was a clinger and normally human throwers are not very popular, they cling to you, you know Who am I referring to? and what I mean is that when people cling to God, something starts to happen and Habakkuk was a slinger with God and he clung to God, he argued with God, he never wanted to be a prophet, he never intended to be a prominent .

He didn't want to be a preacher, he didn't want to talk to anyone else, but he did talk to God and took his complaints to God and argued with him. Now, never try that because you won't win the argument and he didn't, but that's how he got to a message that we'll look at tonight and tomorrow night is one of the most relevant

part

s of the entire Bible to the situation we're in. we find today in Western society, so I will. Start by reading something to yourself. I love reading the Bible to people. I prefer to preach and that's because every word is worth listening to.

When I read the Bible, you understand the message. Well, let's go to the book of Habakkuk. I just need to look at the index to find it, but I'm going to read almost all of chapter one and a little bit of chapter two and I want you to imagine Clinger arguing with God, the Oracle that Habakkuk the Prophet received, and the next

part

. Habakkuk complained until when oh Lord should I ask for help but you do not listen or cry out to your violence but you do not say why you make me look at injustice why you tolerate the wrong destruction and violence before me there are strife and conflict abounds so so much the law is paralyzed and justice never prevails the evil Haman the righteous then justice is perverted and now comes the answer of the Lord look at the nations and observe and be completely amazed because I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even If they told you that I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people who sweep the entire land to the sea, dwellings that are not their own, they were feared and feared people, there is a law for themselves and they promote their own honor.
The horses are faster than the leopards, more ferocious than the wolves of the twilight. Their cavalry gallops headlong. The riders come from afar. They fly like a vulture that swoops down to devour. They all come bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind and pick up prisoners. Like sand they derive kings and mock the rulers they laugh at all the fortified camps there and from the cities they build land and ramps and they capture them then this sweet past like the wind and they continue guilty men whose own strength is their God Habakkuk says Oh Lord Are you not from eternity, my God, my Holy One?
One we will not die, O Lord, you have appointed them to execute judgment or you have dug them out of the rock to punish. Your eyes are too pure to see evil. You cannot tolerate evil. Why then do you tolerate traitors? Why are you silent while the wicked devour? You have made those more righteous than them like fish in the sea like sea creatures that have no ruler and the evil enemy drags them all with hooks, catches them in his net, gathers them in his net and therefore rejoices. and he is bled, therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to the net, because by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest. ruled if he continues to empty his net destroying nations without mercy.
I will raise my guard, says Habakkuk and parked. I myself on the walls will look to see what he will say to me and what answer I should give to this complaint which is a dramatic conversation before we look at it let me quote some of the quotable quotes from Habakkuk in Chapter 1, his eyes are too pure to look evil, but that is not the speech of God, it is the speech of Habakkuk and it is an argument that Habakkuk is using and it is not actually an argument that is true, but I have heard it quoted in prayers and sermons as if it were true profound, but if Then it is not chapter two that the righteous will live by faith, that was the cry of the Reformation a few hundred years ago, it was Martin Luther's motto, the righteous will live by faith, but it had the wrong meaning , let's move forward on earth. will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea that has become hymns and songs but the people have lost the meaning turn the page on Ross remember mercy oh I have heard that quoted in prayer meetings and then Finally, although the fig tree does not bloom and there are no grapes on the vine, I will still rejoice in God my Savior, have you heard that course quoted you have and yet when you take those texts out of context they lose their meaning and we need to go back to the entire book and over these two nights I hope to cover it in its entirety for you and I hope you are as excited as I am by its message.
Well, now Habakkuk is baffled. His first complaint is that God is doing too little. about the situation and his second complaint when we get to this we will see that he complains that Godwin intends to do too much, so it is Habakkuk telling God that he is ours that he is doing too little or too much, but don't laugh at him because I've probably done the same thing and I have a crocodile that should handle this situation. You should be doing something, look at what they're doing and you're not doing anything and oh God, that's too much, just hold on for a little bit, it's very human, but. at least he is holding on to God he is taking his grievances and grievances to God and that is the best place to take them she takes them to other people who miss they sympathize or argue but they won't tell you the truth maybe if you have a complaint Go to God with this.
I will tell you a true story. I know a lady who lives in Africa. She was in a car accident and had terrible injuries and for the rest of her life she was in constant pain and she suffered a lot and one night. She was so fed up with God that she said God why did you leave me with all this pain and she complained and finally cursed God and while she was doing it in her room she tripped over a piece of carpet on the floor and landed. in bed unconscious and the next thing he knew a very bright light was shining on his face and he thought he was in heaven and in front of God and he felt that the last thing I did on earth was the damn God, but then he realized that he had done it.
She was unconscious during the night and it was the morning sun coming through the window on her face and she started to apologize to God for what she had said and thanked him that she was still alive after cursing him and then she was unconscious. Get up from the bed. and she walked for the first time in years without any pain and she was totally here, my God, she has God and she ended up healed. I am not defending that order and I am not writing in a book how to be healed, it just curses God. first but she was honest with God and complained to him and that is the best thing you can do and of course this is what Habakkuk was doing but what was she complaining about, she was complaining about the state of God's people and the City . of God Jerusalem for God's people had fallen into idolatry and immorality and the king of Israel was leading his people down the hill towards a wrong life, he had built himself a larger palace and reduced the cost of relief services society to obtain the money to build his palace and the gap between the rich and the poor became great, it became increasingly greater and justice did not prevail, the law was discredited and the people did not receive justice and, above all, violence filled the streets of Jerusalem, so people did not walk the streets at night and even during the day the elderly did not like going out in public very much this strike and he tells them that this was a condition of the city of God and of God's people in it had had many failures in both belief and behavior, but this was one of the worst led by the king and this was God's people and God was apparently not doing anything about it, it was just happening on its own. and Habakkuk had been complaining to God for up to 20 years about the situation.
It is a long time to spend praying a complaint to God, but he persisted and said: God, why do you make me look at injustice and violence? You're not doing anything about it. I'm praying about it but it's getting nowhere, why and that little word keeps showing up in Habakkuk's prayer why God why why and I'm always comforted by the fact that Jesus himself on the cross said why God why what have you left me and why is a very common word to use when talking about God why God there is chutzpah behind this that we think we know better than God that we know what he should be doing and it's as if we are saying God, If I were running the word world, I would do a better job than you, which is an incredible thing to imply, but we do it and people do it to me very often.
I get it, why did God allow this? Why does God take my partner? Why did you allow cancer? Why did you do this? I do not understand goodbye. I could do better than God if only I were in charge. It's an incredibly cheeky thing for any human being to say, but we've said that someone once told me that if you ever complain about the weather, David, you're criticizing the The way God runs the universe I found a bit challenging because the British always They complain about the weather, we do it all the time, we start every conversation with a good day, but tomorrow would be worse and we become quite pessimistic about the weather, but every time you complain about the weather, this friend told me that you criticize God and the way he's handling things well, I had to swallow that, so here he is and the only thing he's really worried about is the violence and the lack of justice in Jerusalem called the city of peace and the city of God the city where God had put his name and this is what was happening and God was not doing anything all that is what he thought but that's because he had tunnel vision he could only see what was happening in his own city and it was often like that, what It happens to us locally where we live, we think that the whole world is like that and that's why we focus on our tunnel vision about our own city or our own nation and we don't know what is happening in other places and sometimes we care less, but the poor thing Habakkuk clung to God and made his complaint and when you do so, God will answer you.
I am an advocate of what I call the Questioner II Prayer. You know what I mean? You've heard a lot about intercessory prayer, that's one thing and it's an important thing, but Questioner E's prayer, I hope you get close enough to God to use it. By that I mean asking God questions and waiting for a response and that opens up a two-way conversation that you don't ever think you'll win an argument with God and never think you won't get a shock or surprise in return when He answers. You see? I make a distinction between what some people call answered prayer, which is a prayer. that gets a result I call answered prayer a prayer that gets an answer in other words, I said to the Lord Lord, I would love to drive a big Cadillac and the Lord said no, David, I'm not going to give it to you. an answered prayer, have you received the message?
Nowdo you know what I mean. An answered prayer is one that gets an answer, not necessarily the result you want, but an answer and a response from God is a wonderful thing. Well, now, what was God's response? Open your eyes. Habakkuk look at the nation, if you only look at your own nation you will not see the answer, look at the whole world, look at history, get a broad view, get out of this tunnel vision that only looks at America or only looks at Britain . Look at what's happening elsewhere and see what's happening and discern what I'm doing.
You know it's very exciting when you discover that the story is his story and you read your newspaper with new eyes to get a broader view of what God is doing. I simply learned this lesson. I will share this testimony with you years ago. I took a group of church members to Israel on a trip. tour I used to take them out 50 for 50 and they said they would learn more from me in two weeks in Israel and six months with me and in the pulpit and I think that's true, but I took them out and then they went home.
A few more days of Israel alone before another group of 50 church members came out and joined me and I would show them around and my wife returned with the first group and the last thing she told me before getting on the plane in Israel. It was David, did you request the vote by mail? I said no, I forgot, she said, well, it's a general election while you're still here, it was the next group and you won't be able to vote. I said, oh, well, I'll stay here. and pray and that night was the annual celebration of Israel's independence and I was in the street dancing with the young people until 4:00 in the morning, it was exciting and there were babies lying under the bushes on the sidewalk and perfectly safe to be in a safe situation like that was wonderful and I went back to the health hotel and said Lord, I can't vote in the elections, but would you mind if I asked you who you are voting for because I believe that God has the deciding vote in every election and he can vote in justice and give you the leader that you know you don't want but need or he can vote in mercy and give you the one he chooses for your good, he has the deciding vote and he told me I'm voting for Margaret Thatcher when I said Margaret Thatcher, okay, Sir, then is there something you want me to tell him?
It was a silly question for her because he answered and said, I want you to tell him to come back to faith. Her father was a Methodist preacher and I want him to tell her to make friends with Menachem Bagan, the Prime Minister of Israel, as soon as she can, so I took out a sheet of hotel paper on the dear lady. Thatcher, I want to be the first in the country to congratulate you on becoming Prime Minister because God is going to vote for you and there are two things He wants you to know: He wants you to come back to faith in your fatherly head and He wants you to become friends with Menachem Begin from Israel as soon as you come to power and then I thought I couldn't send this letter.
She'll think I'm crazy the next morning. Some friends from Jerusalem picked me up in Tel Aviv. to take me to his house in Jerusalem, where I would stay for a few days until the next group joined me and I said to them: could you take me to the post office first because afterward I had walked through the streets of Tel Aviv in the dark? I returned to the hotel, wrote the letter and looked in the window of a bookstore and in the middle of the window there was a text from Isaiah framed that said: for the love of Jerusalem I will not keep silent for the love of Zion I will not withhold my peace.
You have everything okay Sir, I will send a letter, so the next morning when my friends picked me up, I said we have to go to the post office first. I have an important letter to present, we went to the post office, now push. the letter and the girl behind the counter I said: I don't care how much it costs how many shekels just put as many stems as you need to arrive tomorrow and she glued them all together and my friend said what's in that letter. She said well, I'm just telling the lady. bag if she is going to be Prime Minister and not friends said: will you be in our house when the elections happen? and if she is not chosen we will kick you out of our house and I said why and they said we don't entertain.
False prophets anyway she came in and I didn't know it, but one of the first letters she wrote was to respond to their letter and when she was interviewed by the press outside 10 Downing Street, they said: what are you going to do? as Prime Minister? The first thing she said was that I am going to try to recover the faith that my father had. Now I didn't know any of this and I'm in Israel bringing other church members. It's time to go home and in those days you had to leave your tickets with the authorities and David gave them back to you when you left and they gave my whole group of church members a ticket for British Airways and they gave me a ticket for all that is the Israeli airline, which means that every landing is always late but it is allowed and I said: look, you can't separate me from the group.
I am their leader and I am responsible for getting them out. They said the tickets are fixed, so I walked to an LL jumbo jet and got on it with a little Jewish man. called Menachem Begin I said wherever you go he said I'm going to London to try to meet Margaret Thatcher I said everything is fixed that experience taught me that God is in charge of nations and history is their history and I began to understand a much more picture broad vision of God, the God who established elections, the God who moves the nations around the God who humbles the proud and lifts up the humble, and that's what Habakkuk was to find Habakkuk, look what I'm doing with the nations, get a broader view. from me and then God dropped the bomb, he said: I'm raising up the Babylonians now, that must have been a big shock, God, you're doing nothing about the bad state of your people and your city full of violence and injustice, and God said yes.
I'm doing something about it, I'm raising up the Babylonians and that must have been a terrible shock to Habakkuk because the Babylonians were known for their aggressive invasion of countries, their cruelty, one of the things the Babylonians did when they invaded another country. was to destroy every vestige of life, not only all the people but all the crops, all the animals, even all the trees, they would not leave any trace of life after having invaded and that comes out in the third chapter, as we will see tomorrow evening. In that context, the prophet Habakkuk had to speak and God had no illusions about the Babylonians.
God himself went on to describe his barbaric cruelty, his lack of sympathy or sensitivity towards those he conquered and gave a list of the evil ones. things and then God Himself said they are like a fisherman with a trawl net, not a fisherman with a rod and line, but a fisherman with a sweep net who takes fish out of the sea wholesale and God said, I am lifting them up and now that really throw Habakkuk to the other foot of his argument god that's too much he already complained that God is doing too little but no one knows God you couldn't do that that's too much I was just asking you to come and fix things here I was Not asking you For you to do that is crazy and that's when he argued that you're too pure to stand by and let that happen.
He wouldn't do such a thing. It's a smart, liberal argument, but it wasn't true. God would do such a thing. and Habakkuk is complaining now but none of us would survive you won't have any people left no matter a city that is too strong a cure that is using a sledgehammer to do what I can't think of that I'll let you think of something but it's too much and it makes me you're asking Stein to pay attention and see that happen. I couldn't do it Lord, you know how they behave, you know what I'm going to do and you would actually raise them. that you are making them a stronger nation and you are doing it simply to come and fix things in Jerusalem the application of all this I will also come now God is raising up Islam to deal with his church in the West, that is my message for this Last night you heard my Bickle recommend this book, The Challenge of Islam to Christians.
I wrote it five or six years ago and in it I predicted that Islam would take over Britain, which was a shock to a lot of Britons, but I said, listen, that's it. God's mercy, not his judgment, he is raising Islam and our reaction to that is, but Islam nor his belief, nala behavior is what you want and you can use them to deal with us, there is no law that is doing too much , that is wrong. too pure to do that, you can guess Habakkuk's argument, you can't, but I think Britain and after her the United States will be in a Habakkuk situation and listen, God is doing it for our good, he is raising them up, That's what I believe and they.
They are the fastest growing religion in the world now and are second only to Christianity in size, but they are making incredible strides. I wrote the book five years ago. Now there are writers who write books about Islam with a totally different spirit than now. They are currently infiltrating every aspect of our national life, they even have a Muslim Parliament in Britain and they are not creating ghettos but communities of Muslims who gather them in large cities and impose Sharia law in that part of England. This is happening before our era. eyes when I first said it it was a shock to Britain I became newspaper headlines and a newspaper I will never forget the front page had the top headline Paulson predicts Islam will take over all the words to that effect at the bottom of page that they had interviewed a prominent Muslim citizen in the city of Leicester in England who has been decorated by our queen and who is a judge in the courts of law and they asked him what he thinks about Paulson's prediction that he always says that it will not happen until within of a few years. and he said maybe in 10 or 20 years, in other words, you have nothing to worry about now, but my children, grandchildren will have to worry and between the article about my prediction and his Muslim response there was a color image of His Majesty the Queen carrying her.
Taking off your shoes to enter a mosque that was on the front page of the newspaper but now a latest Prince Charles is defending Islam. Our former Prime Minister Gordon Brown said he believed Islam had the answer to our economic problem and we are just seeing it happen, but when you see that God has raised it up, it is his last desperate measure to purify the church and make the church in Let the West become what it should be because there is nothing like persecution to purify the church wherever the church is suffering today and is suffering.
In many countries you find there a church that is being purified a church that is eliminating Sunday Christians by the hundreds but a church that is being strengthened in Christ because persecution never killed the church does the opposite the devil knows he can only destroy one church from within he cannot destroy it from the outside, he tries, he raises up people to bring against the church, but it is only when he enters a church and corrupts the people within the church and uses them to divide the church and uses them. to deceive the church that's when things go wrong if you think the church is in a pretty good state in the western world I can only speak for my country I can't speak for yours you should speak for yourself but the church in my country is dying the state church is losing a thousand people a week the Methodist Church is closing two churches a week while opening two mosques a week but one of the most important things and I say this deliberately next week on one of the afternoons I am I'm going to talk about divorce and marriage and this is now happening within the church and even both within and in society and it goes against the wishes of Jesus and is one of the key areas where the church in the West needs to repent of its Tolerance.
I rule it out in kind of preparation for one of my topics next week, but people say, well, what does the church have to repent of? One of the main things is that we are accepting the breakdown of Christian marriages without telling them what Jesus said. about it, so there are things to repent of and that is one of the main things that I believe in the eyes of God that we must repent of, so there it is Habakkuk could not stand the fact that God was going to use the Babylonians to cure the problems of violence of immorality of idolatry in Jerusalem, the very City of God, and argued with God and finally we find that he went up to the walls of Jerusalem and said: "I will sit here and see if God does what he says and God had to reprimand him for that, what are you doing up here?
I have a card, you come down and tell people what I am doing, you should tell others and warn them not to sit here to see if I keep my word sitting. there on the walls, you know, many prophets in the Old Testament made Jonah one when God let out the city of Nineveh and Jonah sat outside the city and grumbled and said, "Okay, let's see how you do it." Lord, do not accept what God's answer to his prayer was now that is more or less where the prophecy of Habakkuk begins it is not a very uplifting story but it is very real he is a man who is burdened by injustice and violence in the City of God by a peoplecalled to be a holy people.
The one who immediately strayed from God's standards of living is a man who is genuinely concerned about other people and God's people and the fact that God's reputation is being dragged down by the behavior of God's people, but he clings to God and is arguing with God and is criticizing God that's too little that's too much god I want you to answer my prayer my way I want you to do it with the best solution I think is the best solution how often do we tell God the solution to our problems and we ask Him to do what we want Him to do, but He is honest, do you use the questioner's prayer?
Do you ask God questions? I was having a big debate at a university in Birmingham, you'd call it Birmingham at university for the older students and it was a debate. on the motion that Jesus is the only way to God and they asked me to propose that motion. A clergyman with a dog collar opposed the motion and the woman seconded the motion with a large wooden cross and collar around her neck. and they opposed the motion that Jesus is the only way to God. Can you imagine a more ridiculous situation but in the debate there was a communist, an older man who stood up and actually attacked me with big guns and said you Christians, he said sit in the lifeboat on your way to heaven being saved and look at people like us drowning in the sea and you despise us and that's how it started and then he started attacking me as a Christian and he was getting really angry and I was writing notes on the back of an envelope that I can give the best I can and I was getting some really interesting answers for this communist and then I just stopped and said Lord, how do you feel about this man?
And I wished I had that because I burst into tears and I cried in a public debate in front of all the students at the university and then bless the Lord, he gave me a vision, a pretty silly little vision, and all I could do was just tell people what they could see and that completely changed the situation and then they voted on it and the president who presided. In the debates, I announced the result, 80% were against the motion that Jesus is the only way to God and all the audience shouted that he was wrong, 80% were in favor of the motion and he said: "I'm so sorry, I've made a terrible mistake." It's just that I never expected this motion to be passed and that's why he reported that it was lost but then he had to correct himself by saying that it passed well the clergyman who opposed me left absolutely angry and then I was busy advising students for a long time afterwards it was the best evangelistic meeting I've ever been to and the first student came forward and said he wasn't the Lord with this tonight and I said oh you're a Christian, well he said he wasn't when I came but I was so glad of having asked the Lord how you feel;
Otherwise I would have listened to the communists and we would have lost that debate, but I simply asked God how you feel and got an answer and cried for that poor communist when he realized it. that the Lord was grieving for him made all the difference, ask God questions, he can accept it, he would prefer that you curse him in the sense that you then say polite prayers and say what you think you should say to God, he wants you to be sincere with you. him because he wants to be honest with you and he will be and dear Klinger Habakkuk I'm sorry, dear Habakkuk he received his answer but he didn't accept it and still he said: I'm going to wait and see if that really is the answer because I don't think it is and then We left Habakkuk on his wall looking instead of talking and God was going to tell him go down into the street and write this on the wall the Babylonians are coming, you should be down there telling them. them what I told you don't question me again don't wait to see if I meant it you should go down there and he said write it in big letters so anyone running down this street can read it that's a possible meaning of the following nibble on it or write it down in letters so big that everyone can see it, put it on a wall, the Babylonians are coming and let's see how the people respond to it because until the last minute God always wants people to repent and when people repent, he will repent It's amazing to think that the Bible says that God repents, but it means that he changes his mind and the surprising thing is that prayer, humor, prayer can change God's mind, not for his eternal purpose but for his immediate action, our prayer can really do that.
I realize people say what's the point of praying to the Almighty God, he's in charge, he knows what he's doing is just aligning us with his will, well it's partly that, but you can defy your God, so I'll read chapter 2 right now here. Habakkuk clings to the walls of Jerusalem and is waiting to see if God will send the Babylonians waiting to see if God answers his argument and decides not to send them. I will be on my guard and station myself on the walls. I will look to see what he will tell me and what answer I am going to give to this complaint and then God does answer him and says this then the Lord responded write the revelation and make it clear on tables so that a Herald can run with it for the revelation wait a certain time and it will not turn out to be false talk about the end and it will not turn out to be false even if it is delayed wait for it it will certainly come and it will not take long look that he is conceited his desires are not right but the just will lived by faith in fact the wine betrays him he is arrogant He never rests because he is as greedy as the grave and since death is never satisfied he gathers all nations to himself and takes all people captive.
Will not everyone mock him with mockery and contempt, saying woe to him who accumulates goods? robbed and enriches himself with extortion, how long will this last! Won't your debt suddenly arise? Won't they wake up and make you tremble? Then you will be his victim because you have plundered many nations. the people who remain will plunder you because you have shared the blood of man, you have destroyed lands and cities and all who are in them, woe to him who builds his kingdom with unjust profits to set his nest on high to escape the clutches of ruin! ruin of many towns, embarrassing your own house and losing your life, the stones of the wall will scream and the beams of the carpentry will echo.
Woe to him who builds a city on bloodshed and founds a city on crime, the Lord Almighty has not determined! that the work of the people is only fuel for the fire that the nations exhaust themselves in vain for the earth we will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea, woe to him who gives his neighbors drink by pouring out! from the wineskin until they are drunk so that I can contemplate their naked bodies you will be filled with shame instead of glory now it is your turn drink and it is exposed the cup of the right hand of the Lord draws near to you and this grace will cover your glory, the violence that What you have done to Lebanon will overwhelm you and your destruction of animals will terrify you because you have shared the blood of man, you have destroyed lands and cities and everything that has value in them is idle since a man has sculpted it or an image that teaches lies because he who does it trusts in his own creation makes idols that cannot say woe to him who says he would return to life self stone without awakened life can give guidance is covered with gold and silver there is no breath in him but the Lord is in his holy temple, let all the earth be silent before him.
