so far and in fact, we'll look at some of same players here because ultimately all the devices we were hoping to see launch heavily at the end of the year didn't really show up and will all be pre-loaded in 2020, so at the end of 2019 we wanted to put together a list in different price categories and say that here are the best Chromebooks of the year before getting into all those categories.

More Interesting Facts About,

the best chromebooks of 2019...

The range narrows down the highest range Chromebooks and then we'll talk about $600 and up for the high end Chromebooks in each category, we'll pick a definite winner and say, "Hey, this is the Chromebook that we think is the best in this range for 2019, but I want to give a handful of honorable mentions, as well as devices you should probably consider in that range. Let's start at the lower end of the Chromebook spectrum, $0 to $299 and they haven't really changed throughout this year We've seen the same players in this space, so this isn't going to change too much from the video we did earlier in the year.
the best chromebooks of 2019
However, there are two notable new devices that I think deserve your attention, so let's start with the type of devices with honorable mention and the first ones we are going to talk about are the Samsung Chromebook 4 and 4 plus. We haven't reviewed those devices yet. I have them in my hands at Best Buy and they are pretty much what you would expect them to be. They were cheap, they are plastic, they are a little flimsy, feeling like they don't do anything special, their screens are pretty good, but in general they will work fine because they have you at 4,000.
the best chromebooks of 2019
Celeron processor inside four gigs of RAM and they're going to do all the basic things a Chromebook needs and they really don't look bad doing it, plus in the honorable mention spot. I would like to put the device we had. In addition to this bunch earlier, when we did this video and that's the Acer Chromebook 15, this device has been around for a while, but it's not getting to the point where it's solidly in this $300 range all the time, so between 275 and 300 dollars. but we are talking about excellent all-aluminum speakers Decent keys Backlit keys a considerable trackpad a decent screen all made of aluminum you know that it does many things very well the internal processor is fine it is a pentium in 4200 four gigabytes of ram 32 gigabytes of internal storage, for example which is fine as far as performance goes, but overall that spec sheet sounds like a device that should cost a lot more and so it's good to see it in this price category, however it's probably the best and my favorite.
The Chromebook of all those under $300 is the Lenovo C 340 and this is a device that is a continuation of last year's C 330 which was a great Chromebook and also has an IPS panel and an eleven point six inch convertible colorful screen . decent keyboard decent trackpad and this year the N 4000 processor inside, although still cheap it has decent performance, we actually haven't even reviewed this device yet, we haven't published this review yet, but I've been working with this for several days and I'm talking about extending screens and all that kind of stuff, playing stadium games on it, doing everything I would put my pixel to the test and it held up like a champ.
I was very very impressed with this performance, for under $300 and usually on sale for around $250, it's kind of an aluminum cap on top and it's built like a tank, it does everything you'd want from it. a Chromebook in this price range and I have to say that for sure at this price. This will probably be the best you can get. Next up is our $599 tier 302 and this is the meat and potatoes of Chromebooks. Right now, you can get a lot of Chromebooks for under $600 and Depending on the day, you can get it for a lot under $600, so let's talk about some of the great devices found in this price segment.
The first is the HP Chromebook Don't buy it, its MSRP is $600, but at $400 I mean you get a mostly aluminum chassis, a decent screen, a really great keyboard. great trackpad and a convertible form factor combined with a core i3, 8th gen, 8 gigs of RAM, 64 gigs of internal storage, so it ticks a lot of boxes and is overall an enjoyable Chromebook experience. A couple of newcomers to this list are the Acer Chromebook. 7 14 and 715 and although they have a lot in common when these devices were initially released, they were aimed at the enterprise customer and as the year went on we started to see specific versions of the 715 that came out at much lower prices as In fact, at one point there were a version of the 715 with an i3 core and 128 gigs of internal storage that cost $299.
It didn't stay there for long, so we didn't put it in that lower category, but in Generally, you will be able to find any of these devices, the 7, 14 or 15, they are 14 and 15 inches respectively with a fingerprint scanner , backlit keys, all aluminum billets, 1080p screens and Core i3 internals, 8 gigs of RAM, those kinds of have impressive specs overall for under $600 and any of them will be great performers and great Chromebooks. My last honorable mention in this price range would be the Asus Chromebook C 425, this is a device that came out of nowhere in the middle of the year we didn't expect it, we had no idea it was going to exist, but it is basically a foldable version from the C 434 that had been available for months before, with the same internals, making it an 8th generation m3 core. m3 for 8 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of internal storage 1080p screen Aluminum bill That excellent Asus keyboard, a nice wide trackpad and really very small bezels around the edges, so when it first came out the price was a little high, around $500.
It didn't make much sense, but again, as time went on, they went down to the three, fifty, four hundred dollar range and at that price, this is a great performing Chromebook if you're looking something that is basically a cover. You also lose touch input on this particular model and again, as long as you know what you're getting into and what you're buying, it's a really great Chromebook experience, hands down the best Chromebook you can buy in this category. has largely stayed the same throughout 2019 and it's no surprise that the Asus Chromebook flip C 430 for this device simply brings to the table everything you want from a Chromebook right now and apart from some of the devices we know that will come out later. in 2020 I really can't recommend many devices better than this one, it just does everything right, great trackpad, amazing keyboard, backlit keys, Core m3, eight gigs of RAM, 64 gigs of internal storage, 1080p screen that has a nice brightness, super small convertible form factor. bezels, I mean, it does a lot of things well and provides the Chromebook experience that you would expect in the 400 to $600 range, so without a doubt, this one in the mid-range Chromebook category is by far the best Chromebook you can finally buy.
Here we move up to the top tier category, so this is $600 and up and while not everyone is going to buy in this price range before, it was a little bit of a different conversation, it was like we had these mid-range Chromebooks and then you had these Chromebooks that are $1000 and so there's a big price difference but devices have come out that have changed that and some devices that have gotten a little bit older and because of sales and clearance in general have arrived. The price has dropped, so we need to talk again about a handful of devices that make up this category, and while I think there is one that stands out above the rest, the first honorable mention of the Chromebook we want to talk about is the Acer Chromebook spin 13. and this is something of a Frankenstein device that has almost everything you could want, then enter a three by two convertible form factor, high resolution screen, nice and bright backlit keys, aluminum construction, everything, I mean, it's an 8th generation core i3 or Core i5 and I think there's a core i7 model, even available with 8 or 16 gigs of RAM and tons of internal storage, so if you're just looking or they just included all the specs , this is the Chromebook for you, but you're going to pay.
Overall, it will cost between seven hundred and eight hundred dollars and up, it is expensive, but it does a lot of things well and deserves a place on this list. Next would be the pixel book and I know some of you will say, "Oh, you did that." It doesn't make the Pixel Book the winner here, it's been unseated unfortunately, but it's older, you know, it's getting older, it's a couple of years old at the moment and it's not a device that I would say not to overlook, but the processors are getting a little older, the bezels are a little thick, and overall there are better options at this price and it's a little hard to find on sale, so you'll still be spending between nine hundred and a thousand dollars on a new Pixel. book that is now a couple of years old and although I love the way things were built and it is an iconic device, it can no longer be the winner in this category, the final honorable mention we have here is the pixel slate and while it isn't yet My favorite Chrome OS device does a lot of things right and I know a few people who bought it in late 2019 because the price matches the package right now and part of this is that Google wants to get rid of these things . free keyboards along with it and pens and all these four hundred five hundred and six hundred dollar packages, even if it didn't stay in that price category long enough for us to put it in the previous category here in this video, it will usually cost you over $600 having the keyboard on the stylus so you can get the full experience, but overall it's still a good device, it's very, very well built and worth considering if you find it.
It's on sale and you can find it for hundreds of dollars off because it's fast, it's a really beautiful machine, and it will do a lot of things that other Chromebooks can do. We finally come to the winner in this category and that is clearly the pixel book. and if you've seen our review of this device or read any of the articles on Chrome at voxcom, you'll understand why I think so highly of this device, but probably the most important factor is that we had a cut here at $600 for a reason and This device almost at its base price almost falls into a mid-range Chromebook category and that's important because it doesn't feel like a mid-range Chromebook, it doesn't feel like a mid-range Chromebook.
Honestly with you and in essence, three eight gigabytes of RAM and sixty-four gigabytes of internal storage. Beautiful 1080p screen. Amazing keyboard with backlit keys. Fantastic trackpad and build quality that surpasses everything else. Oh, and by the way, the best speakers I have. I've ever heard that on a laptop you get all those things together for $650, that's the MSRP, it's not a deal or anything, that's what it costs every day. It is very difficult to beat this device at that price, now you can equip it with higher and better specifications. and all that kind of stuff, but I can honestly tell you there's no reason to do it and now all of a sudden you have what I consider my favorite Chromebook of 2019 in the highest price range, but it's barely in the highest price range almost like a mid-range Chromebook and that's a game changer, something worth thinking about and reflecting on.
If you're going to spend five or six hundred dollars on a Chromebook, you should probably consider spending six hundred and fifty dollars on this one. Chromebook, the pixel dropped it because it's so spectacular, great to use and fantastic as a device, so that's it, those are our favorite Chromebooks of 2019 and while that list didn't change much from the one we made in the half. of 2019 there are some newcomers there and some things worth considering, this Chromebook is specifically the main one that has been a game changer for us here in the office specifically, but stay tuned, we're going to do another one of these videos.
In a few months and this list will probably change a lot. BelieveWe'll have a ton of new Chromebooks coming out in the early stages of 2020, so if you're watching this, stay tuned for new videos about them. devices, we'll link to another video that we've done on all of these devices that we expect to come out in 2020, we'll link to it in the description, but that's it for this one.
