Today's project will require some clothespins and a small bucket. The clothespins are easy to disassemble. All you have to do is twist them and the springs will release. When it comes to the clothespins on the inside, there are three slots that concern us. In the middle slot, all we have to do is use some hot glue, place it in that middle slot and the bottom one that will hold our clothespin right where we need it, just place the slot against it and that will give you the perfect lining. If necessary, we'll do that with multiple quantities all the way around.

You can do it one at a time, like I'm doing here, or what we can do is apply a little bit of glue, maybe two or three pins wide, but you have to work quickly. I have to make sure the glue doesn't set. I like to do two at a time. They don't fit perfectly against the top. They will be left out a little. I like this look, so I push the bottom if you want. If you want to go ahead and push the top, do it against the top edge. You can do that too with these clothespins right when you get to the end maybe and hopefully you'll get a good amount there, you might have to sand one down to make it fit.

I got lucky with this and was able to fit two of them in there. There it is and it has that wonderful groove on the top, now on the bottom we don't want it to just be a cube showing, so I take a little bit. rope from Dollar Tree put a little bit of hot glue just to be a starter on the bottom push it into place very carefully while I put a napkin on put some glue on the bottom of the bucket and keep pushing the rope in , be careful. that hot glue is hot and we're going to go all the way around the edge again, carefully, just because this is our initial piece and we want everything to line up when we get to the end, it's going to butt up, but we don't.

I don't want a drastic bump, so take the hot glue right at the top of the initial string and gradually lower it that way. It's a slight tilt and not just a bump. Once you do this, now it gets easier, you can put the string on and stick it on and just fold it over again, that's why I love this

table I made, just keep going around all over the place, look we're covering the white cube. and it looks great when you get to the end of your rope, no pun intended, just go ahead and lay it on its side, stick it perfectly and then start a new one.

Now it's time to dye, use the dye of your choice or you can just leave it bare. Some people like that look below. We need a wooden or plastic hanger shaped like this, usually called a suit hanger. I took a square, placed it against the inside edge of the hanger and marked 90 degrees. Actually, we're going to cut on this line. We're also going to cut. To remove the hanger part, I use a small jigsaw and cut it straight. This one is plastic so go slow those little pieces can get a little hot and cut each line once we do that flip the cube over and then we're going to hot glue our legs on the thin part that goes on top and the fat part at the bottom again.
Remember the cube is upside down so run hot glue up and down the leg and push it in make sure it's 90 degrees up if We make four of these facing each other makes it nice and firm and stable on the back. I want to coat the glue on the clothespin and put one of those last pieces of string I have in there, the hot glue will hold it. instead bring it to the front and I'll tie a knot on it so it looks nice and I'll put the plant in and look at this, when we get back I'll show you what it looks like and there's our wonderful new potting plant.
I hope this inspired you to build your own DIY potted plant from Dollar Tree. Thanks for watching the

talk and I'll see you next time, so the first thing you're going to do is grab a handful. and we have to start separating these babies. I have found that the easiest way to do this is to pull on the edges and then slide them and these little pieces of metal come apart. I'm making a big pile. I'm here, pull and slide once you've got your stack, you're going to go ahead and we're going to stick them in pairs.
I'm going to slide all these things. I have found the easiest way for me to do it. just take like four at a time and we're going to take some Bond Ultimate wood glue and I you can just use a paper cup. I'm using this is like a disposable dessert cup, you add a little bit to your brush. and any type of brush will work. I like to use thinner brushes because it's easier to slide and you just add glue to the flat side and go grab another one. The best thing about this glue is that it gives you a I have a little time left to work with it, but now I can place it.
I don't need to worry about placing it this way so it doesn't fall apart. Just go ahead and stick it. You're going to make it for about I said about two dozen again. The beauty of these is that they are so economical that if you separate more than you need you haven't used too many, you haven't wasted them, you can always save them for someone else, so I've already started putting one together because I know you guys have better things to do than to see me glue two dozen of these together, but this is what it will look like, this is my trick for everyone, take something cylindrical, you can use a toilet paper roll.
I'm just using a jar of glitter. I'm going to remove my glue and in this case, before we do the whole flat edge, in this case we're just doing this flat edge. I'm going to go ahead and add a little bit and then you put it back in. The best thing about wood glue is that it gives you a little bit of time, so it's not like, say, hot glue, where if I put it on I'd have to make sure it's exactly where I need it. I let mine sit for about an hour or two, but that's one pattern, let me show you this other really cool pattern.
I'm going to slide this guy in and show you another trick so you can use one of the other patterns. What I do is instead of gluing them like this, I line them up like this and create this really cool Sunburst pattern. The good thing about this is that it looks amazing. The downside to this is that when we first talked about doing it, I thought, oh. Oh my gosh, how am I going to glue those individual pieces together? Let me show you what we did to put them all together. Let me

turn

it around this way because this is how I did it again.
We used this, put it there and I actually left. there while I put all the clothespins while your centerpiece, whatever you're using, toilet paper roll, glitter is still there, glitter oil still there, you take painter's tape and you make it crisscross, crisscross, crisscross. , crisscrossed, diagonally, vertically in all directions. and it actually holds it together so you can see when I take it out, this is one piece, I can turn it over and fold it and this is how I'm going to put the glue between the guys, this is the best thing ever. It happened to me, okay, let me put, let me stick some of that on, I'll show you how it works, separate each one, put the brush there and we're going to go all the way around, I'm not going to force you. guys watch me go all the way around and then you let this dry flat and again if you have any gaps you just go over it with wood glue.
This is one of my favorite ways to work with complex pieces of wood and then We're going to let this dry now that they've dried. We're going to talk to you about the process of spray painting and then adding a protective layer to get the two that I had drawing down very quickly. I just want to show you how to remove the masking tape or the painter's tape, so you want to very carefully start to peel off this back part and you want to be especially gentle because in case you missed a spot or two, you want to make sure you don't We didn't remove everything, so we have our paint triangles.
If you've seen some of my other programs you know I love them more than words could say so I'll just leave them there and why I think they're great because it lifts everything off the work surface but it actually gives you a little less drying time because while it's still a little sticky, I could flip it over and start spray painting the other side, so I'm going to move on. Other than that, I'm just going to give it and the really nice thing about this is if you have half a can of spray paint, this is almost painless so it gives you and then you can go around the sides and I.
I want to make sure I can use this in my kitchen under some plants, so what I'm going to do and this is how you remove the trigger, you just squeeze these little buttons underneath that release the paint can. Now I'm going to use this. It's a Rust-Oleum 2x Ultra Clear Matte Cover, so it seals and protects. It resists up to 200 degrees so it's great if you want to use it for example for a hot bowl on the dining table and this really doesn't need much. dry turn it over do it again and then it's ready to go now so we spray paint we add the coating now let's go back inside and see what the end result looks like and that my friends is how you take two Dollars. worth of wooden clothes pins and make yourself some fun
