foreigner welcome to the channel thank you all for stopping by here today I am going to talk to you about how to build your own

homemade

Fox. Now for amateur radio, a fox is basically a

hidden

transmitter

that someone will go out and hide and other amateurs. operators or non-ham radio operators, it's actually a very popular thing, a great thing for non-ham radio people who are interested in getting their license because they can participate in the same way, so it's really very good, so if you are interested in the ham radio, definitely check out Find a local Fox Hunt near you if you can find one because it's definitely a good way to get some experience there, so yeah, basically someone goes and hides a

You don't go very far, just a few miles and basically everyone else has to use directional antennas to find it and the first one to find it basically wins, so today I'm going to show you how to build one with just a few simple materials. um there are some foxes that I think some people have made them. I'm not sure I haven't seen one in person, but I think some people have made them so that if something goes wrong, they can turn them off wirelessly. This is not the case. To do that, I haven't set this one up that way, you could probably do it if you use a phone instead of an MP3 player, but in this case I'm just going to use an MP3 player, so you just have to have someone hide the The fox can just stay with the fox if you put it on a

hidden

transmitter in a vehicle or something and they go drive the vehicle somewhere, park it in a parking lot or something and just sit in the vehicle, so if something goes wrong they'll know they may be listening to it and if it starts streaming weird or messed up they can just go back and turn it off real quick so basically all you'll need is a 3.5 millimeter aux cable. well and an MP3 player, you can use a phone.

I like an MP3 player just because if someone were to take it if it was on the side of the road, depending on where you have it hidden, but again, if you have someone with Then you're fine, you know you don't have to worry about it, but also you can use a phone, some kind of recording device and a portable radio, something intestinal or whatever. They have two different types of battery packs. one is smaller, I think it's only 1800 milliamp hours so it's a little smaller for a watt, yes it will last a bit but I would definitely recommend using the extended battery pack, it's 3000 milliamp hours so it will definitely work .

To

make

it last longer, especially to put out five watts again, you probably only need to put out one watt and just have a good upgraded antenna if you want to go further, but that should last even longer. a charging port on the side that you can connect to USB so you can connect it to a battery pack like this one to extend its life even further. It doesn't have any of that. You have to charge it. on a normal charging dock, so that's basically all you need, so that's how you set it up. All you're going to do is take your auxiliary cable and plug one end into the radio and the other into the MP3 player to record a tone. any tone you want to play on the radio and

make

sure you probably have your call sign in Morse code, whoever owns it or running the fox so you have ID and on the radio you'll go to the menu I don't.

I don't know if you can see this or not, you're going to go to the menu and you're going to go to Vox. It should be option 4 on the radio here and I normally set it to I think option one is the most sensitive and then make sure you have your mp3 player pretty loud, the volume should probably be this one goes up to volume 31. I think normally I have it pretty loud, at least 28 or 29. I don't think it hurts go to the end, play with it and watch as the whole recording plays fine, then you should be fine when you have problems, if this volume is too low then it will turn off in the middle of recording and it just makes streaming a little messy so make sure you have our Vox on, you're set to the right frequency, you're on low power and you should be good to go and I've got a can of ammo here Same as I use.
This one has a nice rubber seal in here that protects everything in it from the water. I basically cut a little notch here so the coax can run in if you have a MAG mount on top that just sticks on like here, so it works great, it's worked. It keeps the entire interior very protected and has worked very well with one watt of power with an arc with a 5 8 wave magnetic holder. It can go about four or even five miles depending on the terrain, so it has a wide range to do it as a club and it works very, very well and everyone has had a great time, so that's basically it guys, I hope you enjoyed it, please subscribe, like and hit the notification button if you liked this video, comment below if you have any questions or suggestions. for new videos or something and I hope you have a good day.
