You can use the wooden blanks from Dollar Tree or take a look and see if you can find them. hanging wood shelves, this one actually comes with two pieces, so you can get two signs out of one which is a great deal, or use some scrap wood you already have around your house, go ahead and paint or stain it , let it dry now. here comes our wrapping paper.

I like to cut this a little larger than my sign, but I don't have to worry about making my line so straight with that big roll of paper that can get in the way, once I have it. It's a little bit smaller stroke, it comes with a pair of scissors or a paper cutter and you cut it out to the size that I need and this one I made a little smaller than my sign because I wanted some of that wood edge to show up to attach our paper. The gift comes with some Mod Podge, you can even find smaller bottles of this at Dollar Tree.

Apply a generous amount with a foam brush and then you can place the wrapping paper right on top and smooth it from the center to the edges. to get rid of any kind of air bubbles and then you want to add a little bit more of your Mod Podge in addition to this, it also helps to go around the edges a few times, you definitely want to make sure all of those edges are nice and sealed so they don't come loose , replace a small squeegee which you can also find at Dollar Tree. It also helps with this process to get those air bubbles out.

Place another generous layer of mod podge on top, let it dry, this is what will look nice and clear and then take this one step further. I'm going to rough it out, so this is a sanding block also from Dollar Tree, it just goes around the edges, you can hit the wrapping paper, you can also hit the edges of your wood to give it a nice rustic look. Now I'm getting out my Cricut to create a vinyl decal for this sign. However, don't feel like you need to have a Cricut to create these beautiful pieces. You can find pre-made decals. on Etsy, check out the craft

store

, even Walmart, or you can buy individual letter stickers and create your own saying that way too so you have options there.

I definitely love it though, I love my Cricut machine, it's a staple in my crafting arsenal and maybe if not I don't have one yet, maybe if you're good Santa will bring you one this year, it definitely wouldn't hurt to put it on on your Christmas wish list anyway. I definitely think I got my money's worth. I use it in many projects. Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, decorating my own home and I love the professional look Crickets give you with vinyl. I'll be sure to link mine in the description box below if you're interested but don't feel like you need one.
We're definitely going to make a fun little frame for Christmas as a decor piece as well. You can find so many different frames at Dollar Tree. We're going to dress this one up with wrapping paper throughout this section. It will be how to use wrapping paper so you can use Christmas wrapping paper, birthday wrapping paper or seasonal wrapping paper, so don't think you have to use all of these

ideas

just for Christmas, be creative too. I know you guys are creative. there and you guys just take these

ideas

and make them your own which I love and you can find a picture frame from Dollar Tree that you like but it's not the right color so it's easy to add a little bit of chalk paint and a couple of layers of That to give it the color you really want and need to make the inside of mine look more summery so to change it from summer to Christmas just cut a piece of wrapping paper, Christmas wrapping paper on this case and insert the backrest.
See, from a summer piece to a Christmas piece, it's that quick and easy, this is another decal for my Cricut machine; however, again, you can even print a design. You'll find that there are tons of free printables on Pinterest and blogs that you can even print. Put it in a printer and frame it so you don't necessarily have to make a sticker, but this is how mine turned out. I love it, it's so pretty and the white really pops against the buffalo check background. I still love buffalo plaid, black and white, red and white for Christmas, let me know in the comments below if you still like buffalo plaid for the holidays or not.
Paper making is so inexpensive that you can get packs of cardstock for only about five and six

dollar

s. At Walmart and craft

store

s, you get a ton and I love using it to make my own signs for every holiday season and birthday celebration. This is a really cool hole board that I bought at Hobby Lobby, but I'm pretty sure. You can search on Amazon. If I can find a link, I'll put it below. I love this so much it will save you a ton. You buy this once and you can make different sized buntings and it even has a punter on it. above to make it easier for you to create the holes in the corners, which I'll show you here in just a minute, but we're going to use natural colored craft cardstock for this Christmas sign.
I also cut out some of that wrapping paper. Dollar Tree and yes you can even cut very thin paper, like wrapping paper, on this peg board and it will cut triangles the same size you need and they will all be the same size, that's what I love so I made these a little smaller ones so they would be inserted into the top of my cardstock. This is a paper runner. Another great thing if you are going to do paper crafts, it is very inexpensive and easy to find at Walmart craft stores. This is what I was talking about.
With the corner punches, you can see that there's a hole punch right at the top, that little blue dot, that punches out the little dot of the perfect size and perfect location in the corners so that you can then put each of your triangles together one Once you cut them all together, you can add different letters to your banner pennants to spell whatever you need. I put some white cardstock in my qriket machine, cut out each letter and attached them to each of the triangles, but you could also use sticky signs from Dollar Tree or craft stickers from the craft store here or even a drawing pen in your lyrics and then what you want to do, here's the trick to feeding off these pennants;
You actually want to do it the other way around so it's last. The letter will continue First and you're going to work from right to left, so take some tape, take some thread, take some thread, just put them through each of those holes, side by side, make sure you leave enough space. slack on both ends of your ribbon or your strings that way you have enough to hang it up once you get to that point so I cut mine pretty simply but you could even add different layers and levels of this and spell out what as you need and add as many as you need Next we are going to create an ornament with a clear plastic ornament from Dollar Tree.
I found this great Dollar Tree Mint Striped Wrapping Paper. It's very traditional. I love it, but you can also use scrapbook paper for this. If you can't find this wrapping paper, grab my paper cutter, we're going to cut strips about a half inch long that are about 12 inches long, you're going to do this a few times and then we're going to pull some out. scissors, you want to use scissors that are not super sharp like these that have been very loved, let's open them up, be very careful, careful not to cut yourself on the blade, grab one end and you're going to run your blade of your scissors along the back and it's going to curl your strips like this so I even made one right in the middle to have curls going both ways and then I cut them into two strips so they would go on the topper just do this until you fill it and then you have some cute candy cane scrolls to fill an ornament and create a fun decorative piece for your Christmas tree.
Now you can leave it like this or you can go one step. further you can add a sticker or decal to the front add a year add a name add a saying whatever matches your Christmas theme add that to the front I also added a matching ribbon on top and like I said the little addition cuter al Christmas tree pool noodles aren't just for the summer anymore. You can find them at Dollar Tree for Christmas in traditional red, green and white for your Christmas crafts. I have lots of ideas to share with you on how to wear them for your first Christmas.
In one, we're going to take a pool noodle and we're going to take a knife and we're going to create a little piece of candy, so like I showed you before, you can find Dollar Tree candy cane striped wrapping paper, but if can't find that, head to the craft store many times you can find individual pieces of scrapbooking paper with candy cane stripes or maybe even in a package that you could take them out of because we're going to make a candy cane or a mint candy. With this, what I'm doing here is just cutting the pool noodle to the proper size, I took some regular masking tape and wrapped the scrapbook paper around the pool noodle and use the tape to hold it in place , then we'll head to the wrapping paper section at Dollar Tree and grab some of their clear cellophane.
It's basically like wrapping paper that's clear and plastic and we're going to use it as our little candy wrapper here, so what you do is just cut it to the right size and fold it. Over the candy cane striped pool noodles, add another piece of tape to the back and then bring the ends together, add some ribbon to decorate it. This is a great way to decorate the core of your farmhouse, as well as including your Christmas tree and garlands. The

best

thing about these is that they are very economical, as you can get several of these with just one pool noodle, in addition to the cellophane.
You may need several pieces of scrapbooking paper, but many times they are also very affordable and, like I said, group. These are together on a Christmas tree or garland and you have a very fun and traditional Christmas decoration, so now we are going to make a candy cane out of a pool noodle, but we need to do a little Christmas magic to make that happen. but before I show you we need to turn this into what looks like a mint so I have some white duct tape from Dollar Tree that I'm going to wrap around the pool noodle first so here's my pool noodle It looks like a candy cane. except now we had to do magic so what you need to hold and the magic that will hold it down is the fishing streak so I'm just going to tie it around the pool float to hold it up and you won't see it because of course we're chasing snowflakes as they fall.
I love those candy canes, they are so quick, easy and so cute. Now how about we make some birch candle holders this time using birch scrapbooking paper from the craft store? buying it individually, it was only, I would say, 50 cents a sheet, so that's a good deal, so we're going to take our pool noodles and we're going to cut them into three different sizes. I wasn't very happy with my first attempt so I took the tallest one and cut it to be the middle one and that gave me a better tiered effect and as you can see again you can get several of these from one pool noodle now, If you can find the white pool noodles, I definitely suggest it for this.
Unfortunately, I couldn't do it and if you can't either, no big deal, grab some white chalk paint and go to town on just one end of each of your pool noodles, give it a couple coats and cover that red or any color you can find that is a good solution to this problem. Now we're going to take our scrapbook paper and we're going to cut it down to size to fit the height of each of our pool noodles and we're going to use some of our masking tape to then stick them on the back so they stay on. and they don't fall apart, then you add a tea light to the top of each of these.
You can also get them at Dollar Tree, it's so quick, easy and beautiful, it's fun. one and my son still plays with it, we're going to make a reindeer out of a pool noodle using some brown felt, we're going to add two strips of that to the end so basically half of our pool noodle, so we need to get like our candy cane before, we're going to fold over part of the top and use some thicker jute to hold it down so you can see we've got the beginning of our reindeer head coming to life so this is what it's going to look like we're going to take. some decorative tape coversour jute, add a pom pom nose, some big wavy eyes and then of course freehand and cut out some reindeer ears.
This is super cute and easy if you need to make several of these for a group of little ones. It wouldn't cost much, basically the cost of some belts and some pool noodles, some wiggly eyes and a bowl of pom poms, and you'd have a lot of happy kids. Now, this is one that I think a lot of people know. but maybe I've never tried it or I'm not really sure how to do it. You can use pool noodles to create your own wreath base and you only need a few simple supplies, obviously some pool noodles, they're a little bit long and I was going to make a fairly large sized wreath, so I cut mine up, but if you want a big wreath, keep it together, you can even put a little at the end and make a huge wreath, if you want, just take some masking tape. and then make sure your ends are nice and secured together in that circle shape again.
I couldn't find a green pool noodle when I needed it, so I just took my green duct tape and wrapped it completely around my red pool. noodles to cover it, but you don't necessarily have to do this either. I thought it would be really cute to take a bunch of embellishments and cover it so you wouldn't see the base at all, but I didn't have enough embellishments to cover mine, so I did that. Instead, I took some ribbon and used it to cover my wreath. I probably didn't have to use tape at all, but you know, sometimes in craft projects we have to do some trial and error, so I found this beautiful tape, I think, from Walmart.
I'm just using that to wrap most of my wreath and then we'll add our foreign embellishments for some people so I have a video showing how I create mine and I'll link it in the description box below but it's basically just create loops that are the same size on both sides, top and bottom, and just create a quick twist and half twist in the center using your thumb in the middle to hold everything in place. This takes practice, but I promise you after a while. A couple of arches you'll have it down so don't give up, it's definitely doable, it's somewhat repetitive and the more you do it the easier it gets so on this one I just sized my loops to make sure I can cover that little one.
The space I had and then the trick for my bows, especially the crown bows, is to use a little bit of ribbon in the center to help me keep everything together. You can use zip ties. You can use pipe cleaners. You can use jute if you want. Make sure you leave those tails really long so we can wrap them around our wreath to hold it in place and then another trick I have is not to do the tail of the bow while you're making the bow, so do all the loops first and then. you can add a bow second or a tail second that's a great tip so you don't have to worry about a bunch of different things at the same time and make sure everything is level and even you can do this second and then you can To make it perfect now that we have our bow made be sure to check the description box below and I will link it at the end of this video also to the tutorial for making the bow if you want to see that would be cool.
To click on the next one, I'm just using the ribbon that I attached the center of the bow with to attach it to the wreath. You can also add a little hot glue here to make sure it doesn't slump or fall. I thought now is a good time to start adding those embellishments, so just add a little hot glue and place them here and there. I love the bits of glitter that add a little glamor and a little more Christmas vibe. but who knew that underneath all that there were pool noodles, for a crown. I love that pool noodle trick.
You can also find these wreath hangers year-round at a Dollar Tree, just in different colors depending on the holiday and season, but check out Dollar General too because you'll save 25 cents each, there's only one

dollar

left so it's a good trick and tip for you and there are many different things you can do with these wreath hangers and a quick one is to add a little saying to the top. You really saw it, it's so fast and simple. I cut a Deca sticker on my qriket machine again. You can also use some individual letter stickers from the craft store and get the same look if you have a qriket machine, use that. and then you can place this directly on the long arm part of the wreath hanger and leave some space for your wreaths.
You don't want to leave it too low, you don't want to put it too

high

because then your door will be in the way so you'll have to figure out the location, just place it there, remove the plastic trim if you're making a decal quickly and easily and again create a cute saying there for different holidays and seasons, if you want to dress it up with some ribbon. I'm adding some four-ply jute here to give it a rustic look. Just dress it however you want. You can even paint these door hangers if you can't find one in the color. what you want, I love it, quick and easy, this was definitely one of those projects, but it also looks very cute and elegant.
I want to show you this with a crown. This one I added to a large frame and actually put some wrapping paper on it. the design would bring it into the Christmas season so there's another quick trick for you too, it's very cute but of course you can also use it on the front door. Dollar Tree has these fantastic wood cutouts and different sayings and shapes. I loved them. These, but I decided to use the belief as a decorative piece on one of these wreath hangers. I decided to go ahead and paint this one red so it definitely had that Christmas look using the crimson color in Brent, the Waverly brand of chalk paint, which is from Walmart I love this paint.
I use it for everything. I love chalk paint because it sticks to almost any surface and dries very quickly and if you're going to put decals on it, the paint won't come off. like an acrylic will and all I'm doing here is using a green wreath hanger from Dollar Tree and adding a little bit of super glue to the back of my wood piece here and attaching it to the hook so this is great because a Once you hang your wreath the hook on that piece simply helps become a centerpiece and focal point of your wreath whether it is inside or outside.
Next, we'll get really creative and cut out a wreath hanger and make some thick stocking hangers in pairs. pieces of wood that were in my scrap wood stash, you can go to the hardware store and get smaller pieces and have them cut down and you can make your own stocking holders for so little money, so we'll take whatever paint color you want for wood. spot you want, give them a good coat and then we'll add a stencil here and add some snowflakes, but of course be creative and what would really take this to the next level is if you modify the images. on the front of these, one for each of your family members and then you have the photos on the fireplace, which is so cute and also says who each stocking belongs to, so it does double duty.
I decided to make a stenciled snowflake. on mine because I really love the look of white paint on stained wood, it just has more of our vibe of our style, of our style of homes at Christmas time, so that's what I did and then we need to add our hooks, so this is where our wreath hangers come in, you need some wire cutters or heavy duty scissors to be able to cut the metal. It's actually a pretty thin metal, so it bends easily, you could probably even bend it back and forth and then break it. If you needed it, then this one I had to bend a little bit to get a 90 degree angle so it will sit at the bottom of our sock holder and to hold it on we'll use some epoxy.
You can find it at Dollar. Tree too, if you're new to epoxy you need something you can throw away so I'm using a piece of wrapping paper. Here it comes out in two parts and you just take a popsicle stick and mix it all together once they're mixed together. It starts to activate the adhesive and it starts to harden and dry, so you need to work pretty quickly. We're going to add that adhesive to the bottom of our sock holder. Add a little more epoxy to the bottom of our snowflake here. and then place it on the base of our stocking holder.
The reason I use both purchases for this is because it adds some weight. It is voluminous. It's heavy. Therefore, it is heavy enough to hold a stocking. You have to tell me how many stockings you display. We have six in your house, so we have three kids, the two of us and our new puppy, Honey, so she'll add something to our mantle this year with her own stocking. Now we're going to take a longer piece of a piece of wood that I had and we're going to take that and make a stocking holder that you can hang on the wall, so if you don't have a fireplace or a place to designate stockings, this is a great way to use up some wall space you can This one I just painted added a decal to the front and we will be using those cut to size wreath hangers as our stocking holders so I wanted to make sure each of these holders so stockings were cut to exactly the same length. so everyone agreed with this one.
I'm just adding four. Add as many as you need to your sock holder. There's plenty of room here so you can line them up next to each other and we're going to do the same thing. We're going to use some epoxy to bond them to the wood. This is the same adhesive we used in the last project where you squeeze out both parts of the adhesive, mix it with a popsicle stick to activate it, and then add a little. I bit every one of your hooks. I went ahead and Mark and measured specifically where I wanted each of the hooks to be so that they were nice and evenly distributed so you can see little pencil marks on my wood sign there. and then I just covered the mark and tried to center my hook as best I could, pressed it firmly, made sure to let them sit overnight before adding my stockings here and then taking it to the wall, just use a sawtooth.
Picture hanger. I bought mine on Amazon, but you can also find it at Walmart. I like the sawtooth type because you just hammer them right into the back, they have little slots, there are no extra nails or screws you need, just hammer them in well. on the corners of the back of your sign and it is ready to hang on the Merry Christmas overseas. I wish you a Merry Christmas. So this one is really thinking outside the box when I saw the wreath hangers. I just thought about killing the little runners below. and then what could I use for the top of the sled?
And this is what I came up with. It's obviously a Christmas label and we'll use it for the top, but I wanted to cover that hole up, so we did that. I don't see that using some putty from Dollar Tree you just push it down into the hole, let it dry, sand it smooth and then apply your paint. I wanted this to look like wood, so I'm using some brown acrylic. painting going over the entire sign but making sure it's not too perfect. I really wanted it to look striped and then we'll go in and add the details so it's the same paint color, but I'm putting it more or less. thick in rows to make it look like there are wooden boards joined together.
I also went around all the edges to put it all together, clean it all up and outline it well now we're going to add something that Of course, is optional. This is another decal from Cricut Design Space. You can leave it without formatting. You can put a photo there. You can modify something there, just adding it right in front, as you can see. I love the way the white pops against stained wood, which is kind of the effect I was going to get by rubbing my decal off of the transfer tape and now we can start working on the guides for our sled, so we'll get rid of the folded part at the top using Some tin snips I bought at Walmart, they cost like five dollars, you definitely need them in your craft supply kit because you can cut wood with them, like popsicle sticks, rods and thin metal like this , so grab some and I'll link them.
I use below to make it easier for you to find it along with all the supplies I'll be using in today's video. If you're interested, next we're going to need to make some small supports to lift the top from the bottom. So these are tower blocks from Dollar Tree. I stacked two together, glued them together, we're going to paint them to look like wood too to match the top and then we're going to glue them together, so we need two back. two towards the front and then we're going to use hot glue and honestly I would use a little bit of super glue or some epoxy.
No hot glue here.It worked for me, so I had to go back later and fix this, but I just glued the ones in there and you can see that we have what looks like the beginning of a sled. No sled is complete without the rope at the top so you can pull it, so just grab a drill and drill a couple of holes in the top. You can probably even use a screwdriver. and we route some holes because it is not wood, it is like a cardboard whose label is made without use. A four ply jute threaded it through those holes, added a little bow on top and just made a cute pulley for our sleigh yes no no I have one more project using our wreath hangers for Christmas decorations and then we'll move on to the Miniature Christmas trees from Dollar Tree that I love.
I have great ideas for that too. This is another innovative idea. so we're going to take our wreath hanger, cut the bench and cut the curve so we have a flat piece and then we're going to measure it and cut it in half, so now we have two flat pieces for the next step definitely. Wear protective gloves, we're going to use a heat gun for this type of heating, so it's flexible and we're being very careful here, don't burn yourself, these things get very hot, that's why we're using gloves. I just want to fold it so that it creates this kind of oval shape and overlaps at the back.
What are we doing? We are making napkin rings. I know, it's cool, so again using a sticker to dress them up is totally optional, but it's a quick and easy way to create. your own table decoration for your Christmas dinner or your Christmas holiday cuff by adding those stickers or you could add some greenery, some ribbon, but how cool is this, it looks so pretty below, the mini Christmas trees Christmas, be sure to come back last year. I made a whole video on Hacks on how to use so many great ideas this year. I'm making a new one because they're releasing four foot mini Christmas trees this year.
I know this well, so be sure to subscribe if you want. You still don't want to miss these are several of my favorite mini

hacks

and DIYs for mini Christmas trees. This first one is a swag where you take two of the trees and put the ends together facing away from each other. Instructions, take some wire from Dollar Tree, connect it in the center, make sure it's right and twist it so they stay together . A little hot glue here doesn't hurt either, then go ahead and fluff your tree branches here again. We're going to need to create a bow just like we did for the wreath earlier.
This is the exact same technique I like to hold my ribbon, create my loops the size I want because we need to cover that center where we connect everything together, so just holding it on the project to make sure the loops are big enough, we'll go back to enter and we will create a loop the same size as the one below, creating a half turn. the center to create the next loop on the other side, create as many loops as you have ribbon or as big and fluffy a bow as you want, it's that easy. The real trick to this is to just make sure you tug and pull on those loops. making them nice and full so you have a nice fluffy bow for your projects.
This is a fun way to create some queues. Of course, I did this the second way again, but if you cut the ends at an angle, you'll get that. dovetail style which makes it look super sleek, but you can always just do a normal angled cut. In this case, we are going to tie the ribbon or bow right in the middle, fluff the tails and then you can decorate them however you want. I want them to be inexpensive berries that I bought at Hobby Lobby. I use them year after year. I usually get them from projects.
I save them and then reuse them year after year, so they are a great addition to all my Christmas decorating. I love that touch of red. in my arrangements, I added this swag to the center of my mantel, it looks very pretty, if you don't want to add a bunch of garlands to your mantel, this is an easy addition, it would look very pretty over a photo frame in your living room . or even add it to your front door. Now we are going to make a 3D Christmas tree artwork using this 10 by 18 inch piece of wood.
You can also use foam board and even paint it to look like wood if you want. I use this traditional burnt umber color as a paint stain for my wood and we are only going to need one Christmas tree for this project. Make sure you remove the plastic that comes at the bottom. Go ahead and fluff your tree. We're just going to need to fluff it towards the front because we want the back to be flat, we're going to add a little bit of hot glue to it and we're going to center it on our board to make sure it's nice and secure there, so let it dry and let it sit.
A little bit before the next step, let's now make a box for this tree to sit on and cover the base of the tree. You can do it in two different ways. You can use the large popsicle sticks or the paint stirring sticks I have. There are a lot of stir sticks out there because I order them in bulk on Amazon. I'll link the ones I use below, but use what works for you. These are super easy to cut with a hand saw and miter box which I'll show you here. or you can also use those five dollar tin snips that I mentioned earlier that you can get at Walmart and what I did was mark out how long and how wide I wanted this box to be cut into my first small strip and then I cut two more. up to exactly the same size and then we will also make two sides and a bottom to our box and we will use hot glue to glue all of this together. glue and place those edges to the front of this tree like a cute little Christmas tree planter for it to sit in, but it does double duty and also covers the base of the tree.
My tree I decided to give it a frosted finish or a flocked look and it's very easy to do with a little white paint and a foam brush, just touch the branches here and there as much as you want, as little as you want, just to give it a little more of character and then you can dress up. your tree however you want here is another quick bow that I am creating for the top of my tree you can add a star to the top of your tree you can leave it simple you can add ornaments here I am adding some pinecones giving it more of a rustic farmhouse look, Just be creative and make it match your home, this is very easy and if you don't have much space for a big Christmas tree or if you want to add this to your office, add it to everything. be cute in an entryway, it's a very fun, cute and simple idea for a miniature Christmas tree.
Now I know I said Dollar Tree is bringing some four-foot Christmas trees here soon, but if you can't find them, you can make your own. giant Christmas tree using these miniature Christmas trees by simply combining them, so this is about a four foot tree using five of the miniature trees. I'm taking two of them and connecting them to give it more volume and more branches so it looks fuller. I did it twice and those will be the first two parts of this tree to get the height. Here we're going to stack them on top of each other so that the two pieces of metal that I just sat on the top of the tree underneath and then the top tree will just be a Christmas tree.
If you wanted to do two on top, you could get a fuller look. It's totally up to you for the base. I'm using a dollar. Metal tree cube and I also needed to add some styrofoam in there so it would have something to stick to and also help weigh it down. This is just a styrofoam cone, but you can use styrofoam from Dollar Tree and then you just grab your tree. glue it into the styrofoam if you buy one of these taller metal cubes from Dollar Tree that will help give it some height and it definitely helps to add a little hot glue on top of the styrofoam before inserting the tree in there.
I want to give it a good fluff once it's there and the glue has dried and then this one again. I love the flocked look of the Christmas tree so I came up with a little more white paint. This is a great way to make sure all your decor matches and flows too, if you're creating it on your own, make sure everything has the same aesthetic. You can see where each of these trees connect and it looked a little bare to me. You could add more branches if you want, but I thought it would be cuter to add some small plaques.
These are wooden pot markers that I took apart. I just wanted the smaller piece of wood on top. I decided to paint them and add some decals. on them to make little miniature signs for this tree, if you don't want to make decals you can also take a regular Sharpie marker or paint pen and draw a design or write your own words on these wooden pieces, whatever works for you. I kept this very very simple, just added those little signs right where the trees come together, use the branches to hold it up, but if you want to make little hangers on the back to look like ornaments you can do that one last bit too.
The added detail was a bow at the top. This is a ribbon from Dollar Tree. I love their burlap ribbon, but look how cute. It's just five small Christmas trees that come together to make one good-sized Christmas tree. You can make two of these, create a pair and put them up. on each side of your entryway or fireplace or you could do different sizes and do some sort of grouping and that would be really cute too. I can't help but share this DIY year after year as one of my absolute favorites. I probably did a good one four years ago maybe five years ago now you can use these white Christmas trees from Dollar Tree but you can also use the green ones.
You'll need six of them to make a small snowflake wreath, so what you'll be making is like the loot. We're going to put two of them together and we're going to connect them in the center like this and we're going to do it three times, although for this snowflake again, a little bit of hot glue will make sure everything stays together and then you can start putting them together, use a little bit of hot glue and a bit of wire, you'll wrap it in the center and then just wrap it in and out over each section of the branches so that it fits snugly and each one is evenly spaced. apart it will look and then you can start fluffing your branches, this is what will really fill it out and make it look nice, you can leave it green, you can use the white ones if you want, but like I said, I love the flocked and frosted ones.
Look at the Christmas tree, so I took my white paint and just went over all the branches with my foam brush to give it a snowy look. We're also going to add a big fluffy bow in the middle of this that will cover everything. From the wire we used to put this wreath together, make sure your loops are nice and fluffy. Your bow is round so it has that symmetrical look with this round shaped wreath and then you can decorate it however you want. These are all Dollar Pickaxes and Berries. Tree even the pinecones are from Dollar Tree we just used a little hot glue and spaced them evenly so the year I released this wreath video it did really well and got so many views and so many amazing comments but I think that the most special thing for me was going to my grandmother's nursing home and seeing one of these nursing home wreaths on one of the doors of the residence, so it warmed my heart that others were creating this and sharing it with your loved ones.
Also, this is a very special wreath to me and I hope she shares it year after year and also continues to spread joy to others for you and maybe you will make one for one of your loved ones too. Previously how to create a swag using two of these Christmas trees, but this is a little different style, more of a teardrop style swag that uses just one dollar Christmas tree, so what we're doing here is using one and we turn it around. down and then Dollar Tree also has these little extra wire branches that you can buy and use for different things, but I'm using them here as filler in this swag because these trees are pretty bare even though we're still fluffing everything up. towards the front, this is kind of a tip and trick to add some volume and some fluff to your booty so it doesn't look too skimpy once you twist them around the center and pull them down so they're all looking down in the same direction, then we can start dressing the boot.
This is another bow in that bow making tutorial that I will share in the description box and in the link at the end of this video that I attached to the top of the swag, basically the bottom of the tree, where the wire is to give it that nice Christmas touch of red and then the decorations are just some normal pinecones, adding a little white paint to them to make them look frosty and snowy, there are some jingle bells too. which I'm going to add in there and instead of the silver ones I decided I wanted those white ones to make them stand out a little bit so it's really easy to take some paint and just painton Dollar Tree bills instead of just gluing the bells on. loot I really wanted these Jingle Bells to ring when the door opens and closes so I added each of the bells to its own string and then tied those strings together so I made them in tiers so they wouldn't all be hanging from the same length and then I tied them at the top of the wreath so they would hang and like I said I really wanted that rattle sound so this was a great way to get that effect and it looked pretty cool too. then once it was tied there I added and glued those pine cones and then here I go again adding white paint to the branches to make it look more flocked.
I wish I had done this before adding the bow and embellishments. but sometimes every time you put it all together you feel like something is missing so you can always go back and adjust and change things to suit your vision so here it is all together. I love it, it's so cute on the front door, I love the Jingle Bells. It looks so pretty and who would have thought it was a dollar tree? Foreign Christmas tree dishes are another amazing item. You can find a dollar tree all year round. They have the traditional ones and then I love these fancy gold fluted ones.
I even have some great ones during the holidays that are seasonal and I love this black and white buffalo plaid one. I thought it would be perfect to create a sort of Advent style charger plate with a chalkboard countdown. It's super fun for the kids but super easy. To do this using some chalkboard paint, a couple of coats are needed. I found my painting at Walmart but I'll also link some in the description box below so it's easier to find if you don't want to go to the store and I just want to order it and then we need to add our text so this is a sticker that says days until Christmas.
If you don't have a Cricut machine again, you can get regular letter stickers at the craft store. You can use paint pens like the ones I'm showing you here on the screen and write them on yourself, whatever works for you, just put your stickers, put your design so people know what you're doing with your whiteboard here, Obviously, we are counting the days until the first Christmas. Another little extra special touch I decided to add here is a bow, except bows go hand in hand with the Christmas season. I think adding bows to everything tends to be what I do.
This is a tape I found at Hobby Lobby, I always shop there. for your ribbon when it's 50 off, this one is super easy, just layer a couple loops with a little hot glue to give it an extra pop of red on the foreign top and if you've never tried it before, you should definitely use this chalk paint. great, you can literally use regular chalk to write on your painting and then erase and change it as you count down the days until Christmas. Overseas, this project looks so fancy but is so affordable, it's a Dollar Tree charging board and I found these half round wood beads on Amazon.
I'll link them below. I love the variety they had and I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with them, but they fit perfectly on this charging plate. I first came up with my own pattern and then decided to use some hot glue. I liked the inside border what kind of deal was going on there, but I really wanted to feature a decal in the middle again. I love stickers so I use them a lot but use whatever you have so once I have my design spread out around the edges. like I liked, it comes with some super glue, you can also find it at Dollar Tree.
We're just adding a little bit of a POINT of this under each of the beads, moving forward until we're back to the beginning, let this sit. a good 30 minutes to an hour to make sure it's completely dry before moving on to the next step. You don't want to ruin your design, so like I said, we're going to add a decal in the center of this, but use Whatever works for you, you can take a photo here if you like this design and you liked the idea of the chalkboard and the last one can do that too.
Whatever works for you, this is more of a decorative piece you could add to your fireplace. your kitchen would be so cute, creating even a centerpiece and putting a candle in here would be super cute and weird, a red charger, grab it, they make the cutest mints and it's so easy to do, grab some white chalk paint and a brush. I would suggest one that has the end of the brush angled. You can also use a chalk marker or a dab of paint. The Hawk markers work much better, although I'm going to use a combination of both.
We're going to take our chalk marker and we're going to create our curved lines they give us an area where we need to paint and where we don't need to paint so you can see it's very simple just create those curved lines and then you'll come back with your chalk paint with with your brush on angle and fill every other outside section. You can see that the first coat is a little sheer so definitely apply at least two coats and another tip is to make sure you go around the edges right where the white paint is so The way it gives it a finished look works great if you have a red and white Christmas theme or a traditional red and green Christmas theme or a gingerbread Christmas theme, it's really a lot of fun, use it as a background, use it as a tray, definitely don't do it.
Do not put food on it because the paint is not suitable for food. Make your own cute and inexpensive serving tray with one of Dollar Tree's charging plates. You only need two of your favorite style cabinet posts, which I find at Hobby Lobby. I always wait until they are gone. 50 off so they're super cheap we're going to line them up and use a marker to mark where we need to drill some holes because we're going to fix them permanently so we can definitely use them to carry heavy food or drinks if we want we just want to put a chunk in of wood behind the back of your plate, use a small drill bit and drill the holes where you marked, then go ahead and put in the screws from the bottom to attach the handles to your plate I also want to mention that if you love Christmas, you should head over to my other channel Cozy Christmas Cottage here on YouTube we do Christmas full time there from July to January if you're looking for great gift ideas there are definitely more ideas for the holidays. head over there it's a Christmas wonderland we do lots of fun things including a Christmas special every year that you won't want to miss so I'll link it in the description box below and here is this tray simply put together with It's got a few things cute, but it's definitely food safe, so you can use it for food and drinks, like I said before, next to the snowflake wreath.
I think this is my next favorite DIY I've done using Dollar's beautiful gold fluted charger. Tree as a base, we will also make a beautiful little centerpiece using some LED candles from Dollar Tree and definitely keep an eye out for these picks because they are beautiful, they are very good quality, they have a good variety and you can separate them. and use them here and there if you want. I also grabbed some of these berries and you'll need some styrofoam. You will need to cut the styrofoam into three pieces to give it a staggered or staggered shape so that our candles sit at different heights, then we will take some hot glue and glue the styrofoam and also stick it on our charging plate, then we can start adding our picks here basically the idea here is to cut them all apart so we can work with them individually and cover as much styrofoam as possible so I used a lot of greenery first and used embellishments like the berries and the pine cones to help fill in the gaps, so you want. to work all the way around that way, you get a 360 centerpiece type look.
I also added my candles in there so I knew where I didn't need to add some of that greenery and then filled them with the golden berries from Dollar Tree. The centerpiece was very quick, easy and affordable, but it has such an amazing

high

-end look that it only cost about ten dollars or so, so if you needed several of them you wouldn't break the bank and you definitely have that wow factor. The candles in this piece look so pretty when the sun goes down or if it's dark outside, they have that beautiful cozy flickering glow, so they're even pretty for the night, but obviously beautiful during the day too.
Last Christmas I had so much fun decorating our kitchen with a gingerbread theme and this gingerbread plate was the cutest addition. You will need some brown chalk paint. I recommend chalk paint for this project or any project where you are going to put paint on plastic because it will not come off or wear off. We're going to fill the center of this with that brown chalk paint, let it dry, give it another coat and then come back with a chalk marker to create the frosting effect for our gingerbread, so just make some wavy white lines around it. from the outside and then We'll use more paint pens and chalk markers and some regular paint to create a gingerbread face.
The outside looked a little thin so here we go with another Christmas bow and I'm using this ribbon over and over again. I love when I can get a tape that lasts and lasts and this one from Walmart definitely did that. I've used it on Christmas trees and decorations and obviously on this adorable gingerbread plate. I fell in love with this silver charger plate from Dollar Tree, I had the cutest one. little raised snowflakes around the edge that fueled and inspired this DIY. We're going to do a little snowy scene right in the center using some Epsom salts in the center as our snow, which is a good tip and trick and then you can add your little decorations. like some houses these are all from the dollar target spot that I have collected over the years and then you can add some little miniature bottle brush trees these are from Dollar Tree stick them in there and create your own flake scene of snow perfect for winter and For the Christmas season, a foreign tip to take it to the next level is to add some lighting, so these are tea lights from Dollar Tree.
You can add them in the snow, you can add them in your houses or you can even bring some fairy lights. go to Dollar Tree all year round and put them in there too, they are so cute at night so like the black and white Dollar Tree it also has the red and black buffalo plaid. I love this one, it says 'tis the season, but you can also keep it simple. too and that one would work much better for this project, which is a little Christmas Eve dish that you can add Santa's milk and cookies and the reindeer treats too.
This is a decal that I got from Cricut design space but you can also use paint pens and create your own design or you can also find them on Etsy and they will send them to you and you can recreate projects like this you can just cut them all out and make them fit inside the space adding each element. one at a time, this is definitely one of our traditions. Christmas Eve is putting out milk and cookies for Santa, we also prepare food for the reindeer in the garden and we also take out Santa's magic key.
We haven't had a fireplace in the past, but this year will be the first year we'll have a fireplace in our living room next to our Christmas tree, so I'm really excited about that, but I'd love to hear about your Christmas Eve traditions in the box. of description below or below, it should.
