s with increasing frequency based on the advice of The Reptile Vet. I'll explain how I prepare my soaking boxes and why I do it, but first let's see this cute little guy do his soaking like a champion. All of my snakes have 24/7 access to water dishes, but the truth is that I rarely see them used. I've seen some of them drink before, but I consider it fleeting and unusual. They get a lot of water from their food and their sheds have generally been full or problem-free, so hydration and humidity have never been an absolute concern for me.

However, I want to defer to the recommendations of professionals. Snakes can absorb water through their vents or cloacas as well, so even if they are not drinking the soaking water, they benefit from the time spent in the box assembling the soap box. Here is the box I use, it's just the plastic shoe box with latch lid that I drilled holes in. some lint on the bottom but we'll clean it up before using it and here's the towel I'll use to cover the box when there's a snake in it, this should help desensitize them a little to the experience they don't normally enjoy.
