How to Repair Roof Shingles

Well, we had a big wind storm last week and blew some

shingles

off the back. J is in bad shape here, so today we are going to patch them up. It needs a new

roof

anyway. I think we'll do a steel

roof

when it's ready, but for now. We're going to patch them up, so the first thing we did was get the old

shingles

that were broken. We have them. Oh, we pulled out the nails. Now everything is ready to use the new shingles that we have already patched. some of these shingles last year we had the same problem with a little bit of wind blowing them away so you can see some of these shingles are newer some are older so we're going to start from the bottom and this shingle is just a hair shorter than the old one by about half an inch, but I think for this purpose, to patch it, it will do, I'll put in some extra roof cement, a little bit of tar, it should be fine.

I'm going to put a drop of this roof tar on the edge. We will seal the new tile but we will also stay there. Hello, tomorrow wins again today and it's a little cold outside, so the tar strip at the bottom we have time to adhere. We'll use this to make sure it stays down. So for that full patch, we replaced three shingles and it should hold up here, you know, you'll say that later this year when you put a roof on this spot. Anyway, thanks for watching.
