Mar 18, 2024
reporting live from the moment 98 5 this is an

iphone

11 pro first review of tennis max very good guys, welcome to our video about the iPhone 11 pro we are excited to be one of the first on the internet one of the first who have seen First and be the first to dive into this

camera

and now the video, what's up? Everyone, it's your guys Niles and Caleb, you don't know why I said we're here with another video about the iPhone 11 Pro. We're excited. Today we're going to do a

shootout

between the 11 Pro and last year's model, the 10 turned a little bit more towards the so fire Lily oh well Bowie you know a Snickers bar so the main question we want The answer in this video is if it is worth it. upgrade the 10s max was a great phone the 11pro seems to have a lot of cool features but ok yes it's a pro version but what makes it pro is it worth the upgrade is it worth the money we know phones are It's expensive, so I hope this video helps you answer that question.

We usually go out and record a video like a vlog and really just give you our live reactions. Yes, we are here, but this time we went and filmed. We brought the footage back. I got the photos back and we were able to look at them and look at some pixels, so in this video you'll get a little bit more of our review of what the difference looks like, so looking at this first image we have a chance. from the trailhead just reaching the sign and just some trees in the background and the first thing I noticed is that the iPhone 11 Pro has a little richer colors and the overall tone is a little warmer.

More Interesting Facts About,

The dynamic range looked more or less the same and in this shot the sharpness looks more or less the same: in this next shot of a very pnw bathroom that could also be a mini house with a fireplace, we see that the 11pro has a little more of sharpness at the maximum of 10 seconds, you see the greens, the leaves look a little soft. when on the 11pro everything is very sharp, the edges are very sharp, I will say that sometimes when things are too sharp it can look a little cheesy, it can look a little digital, so sometimes we want to find that middle ground, but in this photo I would give the edge to the 11pro just because you can see the leaves when you zoom in so before following the trail I had to take a portrait of Niles and his baby in portrait mode on the iPhone and the default is the telephoto lens The iPhone 11 Pro has the option for that wide-angle portrait mode, which is super nice, so when comparing the two shots at the normal portrait mode focal lengths between the two phones, the 11pro actually looks a little more natural, it's much softer. skin tones and there is less grain.

I think they both do a great job and you can adjust the amount of blur in the background on both phones, so yeah, and they do a great job of edge detection. I just think the advantage is a little bigger. for the 11pro in this one, I look like a dad in that photo, dad bought a wave, everyone is fine, so when we got to the top we wanted to try the time lapse feature, this is a feature we don't use much but that when we use it you just want the most attractive image, this is a big win for the 11pro, the 10s max looked pretty bad, there was a little less light, you know, Mary was also shooting towards the light, yes we were shooting as innocent and tough.
iphone 11 pro max vs iphone xs max camera shootout
The light and lighting changed a lot, but the 11pro looks much better, it's not perfect, but in this case, in that setting, the time-lapse after the 11 looks better. All of this video is recorded in the native app, obviously we have the Moment Pro

camera

app, we have third party apps that we shoot in similar mode to time lapse mode, there are probably some that export in 4k or have more control, but this one is just native so check out this first shot here of the lake view and you have some records. Going into the water, they got a nice color on the bottom, guys, blue, yeah, in my opinion the 11 Pro takes the lead.
I think it looks a little sharper. The shades have a richer face value just by looking at the photo with the 11pro. I would say that. It looks a little oversaturated, but compared to the 10 and the Max, basically I like it a lot more if you look at the mountains and those blues, it looks super mushy on the 10 max, which to me just screams phone. photo when on the 11pro it's not so bad and you see a little more detail in those trees. Let's flip through some different photos now while we're at this point and just do a good side by side comparison.
Everything is true to what we've been saying while looking at these, the colors are a little richer, there's a little more sharpness and there's a little more shadow detail. I think so, I think that's what I'm trying to do. That's what that's what I'm seeing the most, the details and shadows are better on the 11pro wait, what's that button doing so little?, press it, oh, so it goes back to what it was. Okay, I'll take this one. take that one, okay, one two, well, when you look at yourself that much, I'm so jealous. Did we put some here?
You know, if you think we're completely praising the new 11pro, it's good, but one thing that's super weird is The actual way the lenses are on the back of the phone is new, like the little circles are three, but You know that each one sticks out a little and there is like an edge. What we saw with the Flair is unlike any other iPhone. We'd never actually seen it before, it would hit the side of the lens and then in your shot you'd get this like a circular crescent flash, yeah, and sometimes there's like a rainbow, sometimes there's kind of a fade out and it wasn't like that. looks good and that was only really happening on the 11 on the 11 Pro because of this circular lens design as a sticker yeah and flare can be cool but not always like that yeah I want to have the option to have the flare or not.
Well that will end our photoshoot time here in the mountains on the way back to the house, so after the hike we waited for it to get dark so we could test out the low light, dude, what's up? What's happening? Stoker is out here, kind of dimly lit. Low light is a big feature that Apple was pushing in the iPhone 11 pro so we had to put it to the test and all the other iPhones haven't done very well in low light, they're not terrible but they haven't had a mode dedicated night. feature mode we went to a classic 24 hour donut shop in Everett Washington and ended up filming well, so overall there are a couple of things to keep in mind with night mode: you should really use a tripod if you want get the best results because what you're doing is essentially letting the shutter be open for a little bit longer and it combines a couple of different images that it processes together, so even in this shot here that you can see of Niles it looks amazing , but it moved just a little bit as if the camera was on. a tripod, but its face is a little blurry because it moved, but you can see the background looks amazing, all the lights, it really draws in a lot of light, so I think it does a very good job compared to last year's model . all the other iPhones actually, but the 10s max as you can see here doesn't perform as well, it's a little grainier and doesn't have that depth, it looks low light, the other thing to watch out for is when they were aiming the phones directly to the donut shop, there is a lot of ambient light, not even harsh, coming from the donut shop lights, I actually wasn't able to put it into long exposure night mode, so I think unless the the phone detects that there is no strong light source, it won't let it, even though it was on the tripod, it still didn't let it do it, it's like a long exposure.
My biggest complaint with night mode is basically how automatic it is, apparently that was nice. clunky to use basically when I live, we don't like the UI it's a little weird, so when I clicked on it and swiped it for like three seconds, that was the most I could do. I feel like you should let me go to 30 seconds, but if I want to blow it out and maybe I want to bracket some photos and I want to expose them for the sky and then the building guy, can you bless me? No, no, we also put it in video mode. to see how it handled in low light low light video test here we have the 11pro, how does it look? 10 seconds maximum.
You can see how both phones look pretty bad in this low light, so I highly recommend getting good light when you are recording videos on your phone, I mean the other xi does better, if this is just the test between the two, 11 looks quite a bit better, but it's negligibly better as they're both still pretty bad, yes, in the words of a filmmaker friend, Jakob Blanc, if it's going to look bad already, just make it look worse, just change the grain, just edit that thing and make it look worse, yeah, if it's going to look bad, make it look really bad and then it's hard.
Now let's get into the video comparison section of this shooting. We went and rented a boat. Just kidding, it was my parents with their arms raised on the boat, like, take your shirt off, dude. Come on, what's up guys? We are here on the boat. I probably already told you what we were doing, so I'll get right to it. Let's try a video on the 11 Pro and 10s max. Oh man, they were nice enough to let us go out in the boat, take us out and We actually just wanted some action because the way we shoot a lot of videos, I mean, whether it's a normal still life or action, it that we want, we just imagine you're trying to feel like GoPro, yeah, for the video portion of these tests, so we just like to go. have fun and do things we enjoy.
I've never wake surfed but it was a good scene so we shot 4k at 24 frames per second on both phones, 4k at 60 frames per second just to see the two main differences and then we shot at 1080.240 because both phones support that. between both devices none of the frame rates in the videos have changed except the right front camera, selfie camera test, how is the audio? If you're looking to vlog on your phone, the 11pro is probably one of the best. phones for that, it was okay, so we were on the boat and we had the phones placed next to each other, so framing them again, like I said before, might be a little off, but the rig is not a gimbal, it stabilizes only with your hand.
By the way, yeah, so the things that are most important to us in video, I would say, are the dynamic range and the colors that you get from the camera, and I would say the 11pro looks better. I think for me, skin tones are a big difference. creator, I think row 11 is a little more peachy, it's a little more natural when the 10 second maximum was always a little red, like if you were photographing a sunset or if you were photographing someone with a bright light in their face, as if there was a faded red. Weirdness on their faces that I just didn't like everything and the 11pro seem to fix that it's strange how every year of the phone like something small like that you can change it like Apple obviously doesn't make a big deal out of it.
We've improved skin tones and all that, it's the little things we look for, like our phones, cameras, stuff like that. The frame rate that really impressed me was 4k 60 at 2x, looks great yeah. I think the 2x is a good lens because it sort of eliminates the traditional iPhone focal length and punches out so it looks a little more cinematic. I liked it, I thought it was, I don't know, it just looks. Well, yeah, I think in general, if you're shooting with a maximum of 10 seconds and you have it as the main camera and you want to shoot with it, not with the selfie lens, but with the main rear camera, if you can just shoot with good light, I think you're totally fine, go to the slow boat, slow motion still looks garbage, so here we are out here, nice bright sunny day, going behind the boat, slow motion still looks garbage.
I don't know, I don't know why it just looks like a bad image, that's like altered contrast, altered sharpness, trying to fix it, okay, I don't really think there's a difference, it says it's 1080p, but it doesn't look zoomed in like 360P, It's fun if you just like it, we put the footage on. on our computer we are looking at a nice big screen, that's when you can really tell how people will be positioned, yes you can see the pixels there, yes if you shoot 240 on your phone it looks good, like I did. you skate and you still have fun and if you just put that on Grahame like on Twitter, nice and little, yeah, I wanted it a lot, but now I think overall we're going to come to this review from a little bit more like, let's see In the footage, the last thing I will say with the video is that the 11pro has a charged battery, which if you use this phone as your main video camera, for example, videos, traditionally it is something that drains your phone very quickly, noticeably different battery and better.
Also, the screen is much brighter, so if you're shooting and you like direct sunlight on the 10s at most, it's a lot harder to see the screen, but now with the 11pro, because there are more nits, there are More brightness, it is easier to see when you shoot live. sunlight I was talking to PatrickYou take um and we're waiting for someone to come up with a third party app where you can use your phone as an external, like an external recorder, it has like an external monitor for your camera, thanks for sitting down. through this, be a little bit longer video, a little bit different format overall, would that be great for you?
What do we think? What do we think? Wait, what are you updating? It's worth it? I already updated it. Hey, I updated. I think part of that. Not upgrading is just because we work in the phone space, so it's almost a forced function of being in this industry, you have to upgrade, but I will say I was a little hesitant at first. My 10s was great but I'm really enjoying this phone. the super wide here is just funlens. I love that selfie cameras are a little bit better now just for vlogging, so yeah, no, seriously, because for vlogging clips like me, my wife, my baby, that's super fun and I think the colors are great and yes, the battery life, the brightness.
I think it's worth updating if you're like Niles said in this kind of creative space with technology. I really think it's worth it and if you want to shoot a lot with your phone if you want to use it. your phone as a filmmaking tool as a photography tool, then I would say upgrade it because it is a smartphone that can do a lot of other things besides filming, but what it records now is really impressive and if you think about it like you own this. phone directly the 10s at most, you could probably sell it, you know, make back about half of it moving on to the next one, so if you think about the upgrades, how the camera bodies were more like if someone had the a7 a7s2, it's just one of those things that if you're in If you're not in this and you've had this phone, you're like I finally got this phone last year.
I love the camera it has 4k 24 4k 60 shots all the same photography features it doesn't have super wide angle but you can get momentary lenses for it and we literally want to make a video about it after momentary lenses with this many ways because the aperture is still F 1.8 is better than super wide angle in low light situations and different things, so we have been working on this video for a couple of days. Caleb is going to edit this beast right now. Thanks for watching. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know in the comments below.
I'm worried. If before. order your iPhone if you're upgrading pre-order your momentary iPhone 11 case right now. I hated the way it looked and I'm already liking it. I don't know how Apple does that. I think they just look, just like they did. He hypnotized me into liking what they did, but I really like it, actually, that's still kind of ugly.
