Tik Tok Beauty Influencers are MESSY...(undisclosed ads, fake reviews)

May 01, 2024
A few months ago we focused a lot on a big issue happening on Tick Tock with

beauty

influencers

. For some reason, the creators of Tick Tock don't seem to believe that the FTC rules apply to them and have been using some really clever methods to hide their relationships with brands that pay them. Some of the biggest offenders were Michaela glamzilla and even nikkietutorials. Since lash gate happened, more and more people have become aware of the tricks these

influencers

use to be deceptive and for months now viewers have been criticizing them, we haven't talked about this in over a month because honestly, There are only so many times you can talk about this before it's okay, they'll never learn, but I thought we could go over some of their recent sponsorships and talk. about what changes they've made, if any, and whether these influencers are learning, it's a mess, so let's get into it, let's start with Michaela.

I haven't really been paying attention to Michaela lately until they put her all over my page for you. Her luck with the Kim Kardashian Met Gala, this video of Michaela is literally going viral right now, but not because of the makeup tutorial, it's going viral because of the way Michaela said Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian had this absolutely sexy look stunning at the Met Gala and you can recreate it. at home and everyone is stitching their video and giving their own take on Kim Kardashian again Kim understands give us yes a lot of people are saying that Michaela is exaggerating her accent a lot it is most likely appealing to the algorithm people keep asking me is it that actually? how do I say Kim Kardashian no, I don't say Kim Kardashian.

More Interesting Facts About,

tik tok beauty influencers are messy undisclosed ads fake reviews...

I'm just saying that at the beginning so you see it and so you care and it clearly works. I'm just being nasty and annoying and yes, it makes people angry, but I like it. The video has like 12 million views and it's been used a billion times and I mean it's clearly working. The video has more than 10 million views and everyone is talking about it. Another thing people are talking about is Michaela's lack of disclosure on her endorsements. She still without giving any verbal disclosure, there is no disclosure on screen, so if people saved the video and reposted it on a different platform, no one would know that she is sponsored.

Here's the secret to clearer, smoother, more radiant skin literally overnight, this is retinol and this is Rock's Retinol Correcting Night Serum Capsules, if you're just starting out with retinol, this is how that you should start. Say you have an event tomorrow and need your skin to look better overnight. Do your skin care routine. Get your capsule. My two favorite things about this non-irritated, so if you have sensitive skin it's great, it's also the perfect amount in each capsule, you're not going to use too much retinol, that can happen often, open the capsule before bed, apply the retinol and when you wake up in the morning. your skin will just glow over time this will firm the skin it will hydrate it and you will see the immediate glow this will stay overnight and i will show you my skin in the morning and its only reveal is hidden in the hashtag with the hashtag Roc partner, there is that little banner of paid association, but Tick Tock usually puts it there automatically.

I just think that if someone has to ask you if your video is sponsored or not, there's probably a problem with tons of people also calling. Michaela was a little misleading with this endorsement, the video was for a retinol cream and McKayla made it seem like it was some type of product with overnight results and people in the comments are saying that's not how it works read that retinol is not an overnight product. solve it, although it takes weeks to see any results, if anything you would wake up with drier skin trying to convince us that a capsule will improve our skin overnight is simply ridiculous, you have become a sellout if what your skin needs is pure retinol. a retinization process for eight weeks and other people think that if a brand is going to pay Michaela to sell this product to people, they should tell them how to use it safely.
One person said it was fine but didn't say that retinol thins your skin and if you don't use sunscreen you can get sunburned and apparently that is very true, many articles claim that it is crucial to use sunscreen with retinol so maybe that is something Michaela should have included in her ad, overall it seems Michaela hasn't. I learned from Lash Gay when it comes to proper disclosure. Speaking of proper outreach, I want to thank Adam and Eve for sponsoring today's video. They know that Adam and Eve have supported my channel for a long time and are once again giving to them.
A discount code will get you 50 off an item in your cart and free shipping anywhere in the US or Canada. Some exclusions apply just as a reminder whenever you shop with Adam and Eve, you will get 24/7 customer support. Hassle-free 90-day returns and the main thing I really love about Adam and Eve is that they donate 15 of their profits to help fight the spread of HIV, so the code spills over for 50 off an item in your cart and free shipping to the US and Canada, thank you Adam and Eve for sponsoring today's video and let's get back to this tea.
The next person we need to talk about is Glamzilla. Glenzilla never adequately discloses its endorsements. She is too positive about every product and many people think that even if she is not sponsored. she is always looking for a sponsorship a few months ago Manny mua exposed the fact that many influencers post these super positive

reviews

in the hope that the brand will reach out and request that their video be purchased and turned into an advertisement, unfortunately glamzilla has not made. He really changed his ways even though people left comments about his lack of transparency with sponsorships.
In fact, I think Limzilla might have gotten a little worse with his revelations a few weeks ago. Glennzilla posted what appeared to be a Story Time video about how she went to Sephora during the spring olaplex sale in her basket and her boyfriend tried to get it out of her. I took my man with me to Sephora and it was a big mistake since you know it's the biggest time of the year for us, it's the Sephora spring savings event. I'll tell you what this guy started doing, he started watching what I put in my cart, excuse me sir, okay, so he points to this and said you have this at home in both of our bathrooms, you don't need another one and then he took I took it out of my car rudely so I said you know what you're right baby I took it out you know what I did after I put every single olaplex product in my cart and he shut up and as you can see I put this in? one again on don't play with me and never play with a homie olaplex if you were just watching this video without looking at the description you would have no idea this was an ad it isn't until you press harder and all the At the bottom is hidden with a hashtag ad.
If you were just watching this you'd probably say "Oh she just loves all her plates and she doesn't even know she's getting paid to love them. I want to mention something really nice that I saw glamzilla do that, I think it's worth mentioning, we talk a lot about the bad things these influencers do, but what I saw what glamzilla did a few weeks ago I think it was a great idea and I hope more influencers take notes here I'm sure you know all about those great giveaways that influencers do with. their leftover PR and unwanted products They always have these huge giveaways on Instagram with these pictures full of products that tell you to bring a friend to participate and they get hundreds of thousands of followers Glennzilla decided to do something a little different with their products. unwanted.
This is what 50,000 is and we are donating all of it. As you know, I do it because I don't believe in them, but what I do believe in is making a positive change in In our communities I create these mystery bags of

beauty

that are there. filled with the latest and greatest in beauty, like there's some good stuff in here, seriously, you get your money's worth and then we donate all the profits to our community, last year we raised ten thousand dollars. and donated it directly to the Red Door Family Shelter this year. I have committed to funding a full school nutrition program for the entire school year, which means that kindergartners will receive free snacks and children will be able to get a free breakfast club every morning, on top of that, we will also we're funding meals for 15 low income families all year long and I made it fun so we're going to host some pizza parties so the kids can eat free pizza and then oh we're going to be my new library which is so special and then we're going to make a school garden, a school garden so the kids can plant the vegetables and then pull them up and eat them, so yeah, the next few months are going to be amazing.
I'll take you guys. along with me every step of the way I can't wait to put down the books I can't wait for the pizza party I'm going to wear a hair net um so happy thank you for joining me on this journey and doing it right make this mascara for you mascara for you mascara for you my friends came to help we're filling the bags one by one like we're connecting everyone okay so basically we're just making sure all the bags are packed I know. This is over five hundred dollars, but I just want all of you to be happy, we've built all the mystery bags and I noticed this bag is a little empty, that bag is getting the whole new front system and that's it.
See you at the weekend when we finally get together to give everyone their bags. I love them and she's even been documenting the ways it's paying off. She ended up buying all the books they wanted from a local Toronto school and today they had a pizza party. I did a little good. I'm from Toronto and I chose three schools in the GTA to contribute this year and we're starting with Chester Public Elementary School. We asked the school for their ultimate dream book wish list and donated. all the books on that list and more in the library.
I ended up registering the books in the system and even got to read to the kids too, but as you know, it didn't happen, we had a pizza party for the whole school and the kids went crazy. but the best part was sitting at the end of the day and watching the kids read the books we donated. I think I'll do this for the rest of my life. Someone commented on one of her videos and claimed it was just a big tax write-off which, even if it was, at least it's still working fine, but glamzilla claims she's not actually writing.
I have proudly never claimed any of the 75,000 we have collected in the last seven years as tax write-offs. I don't do it for that, I actually do it to do good, the next person we need to talk about is nikkietutorials and you guessed it, she hasn't gotten any better from her revelations. Nikki's most recent sponsorship was with Juvia's house and once again. no verbal reveal, no writing and no overlay I just found the most pigmented liquid blush in the world like I'm not kidding just look like I said you guys know I'm Juvia Stan's place a couple of months ago they came out with the blush Rouge is obsessed with this, but now it's liquid plush and okay, before we start playing, let me apply a little base, but look at the colors, such a fun color, one two, that's just oh, this combo could be Juvia's place . to get it every time, I'm so obsessed, I'm so obsessed, the only place you can find out if it's an ad is buried inside their hashtags and Tick Tock created that paid partnership.
Banner Nikki is the one that really surprises me the most because she took her sponsorship disclosure on YouTube very seriously after she got called out a few years ago, she came up with this whole disclosure system where she would mark at the beginning of a video if she was sponsored and made it very clear if it was a gift. or if she had a code or if she was just getting paid, even Nikki's fans are also criticizing her for this with one person writing of course you will say you are obsessed because you are sponsored. I wish you and Juvia's place was clearer and put an ad, not just a partner in the hashtag, another influencer who is starting to not properly disclose is actually someone who surprised me.
Alex Earl was once pretty good at making sure people knew when she was sponsored or not, but as time went on, she no longer made sure she did things correctly. Alex had a sponsored post for the L'Oréal Paris bonding treatment and not only is there no information on the screen or in the video, but she didn't even include that Tick paid partnership banner. Tock, the only place she put any kind of revelation was buried with a bunch of hashtags. I'm going to show you how I got my hair to go from looking dry and curly to this, those photos were from this morning if you know me.
You know, I'm constantly in the salon and I bleach my hair. I found a productlink repairer. This way you can have healthy hair without having to spend a lot of money. This is L'Oreal's pre-shampoo, so I'll show you. how I used it to wet your hair and then put it on for five to ten minutes before shampooing your hair. The products I use on my hair make such a difference that I can tell if I use something that I like and is good for my hair. It feels soft like silk and if I don't feel it, it feels like straw, this is after I used it.
This is the complete set of their bond strengthening products, so if you need a good Bond repair, I've got you and all their

reviews

are complete. with people saying if this is an ad and asking if it's sponsored and pointing out that it doesn't say if it is or not. I know a lot of people probably don't care and think they should be smart enough not to do it. Trust influencers but I think it's actually very sad if I grew up with beauty YouTubers so you know there were always some you couldn't trust but the ones who were honest and built trust with their audience went further in their industry and It's strange to see so many Tick-Tocks.
Beauty influencers don't really care about building that trust. It all feels so transactional and really impersonal. I just can't understand why they are going to such lengths to hide their sponsorships. If they were honest, more people would appreciate it and be happy to do it. We are growing and working with Brands, seeing so many great creators trying to hide it makes you think that they are not trustworthy and that they do not take anything they recommend seriously. I think Lash Gate really opened people's eyes to all of this because I've seen more people than ever mention this stuff in influencer comment sections but for some reason they still ignore it anyway guys let me know what they think about everything below.
Do you think these influencers are trying to be deceptive and hide their affiliations? Do you think they really don't know how to reveal it properly? Let me know and I'll see you next time. Thank you.
