last week, just before Coachella weekend. He used the event to promote his new

. Now I know we already talked about this and my Coachella video was a disaster, but I can't help but think about how big of a missed opportunity it was. James always has a not-so-great history with Coachella. Coachella comes around, we're always waiting to see what kind of drama she gets into and I feel like this would have been the perfect opportunity to change that narrative.

I'm trying to find 10 different Tiktok people who love makeup, who love being creative and the confidence it gives you, so here's the deal. I want you to catch this video wearing your best makeup look. and when I say best I don't mean the best makeup look, I mean the best and James went live afterwards and said he was looking for normal people, he knew his brand wasn't the easiest product to use and he wanted normal.
Let people show how easy it is to use your product. He wanted people at all levels to show it to him and say it's not exactly the most consumer-friendly product, but the reality is when you guys actually look at the product and see what it is like. being able to use it and see all the ways it can be used. I think it will be a lot less intimidating than it actually seems and it's definitely not a product that you need to be a professional for, so I really wanted to involve different artists of different levels in the campaign to show how easy it can be to use this product and someone even asked him if you accept dating ugly people and James said: I love everyone seriously, we were looking for everyone. for this campaign moms dads college students teachers uh grandmothers, it would be great to have a grandmother um nurses firefighters and yes, even ugly people.

James said he was looking for everyone. Yes, he said there would be some influencers in his campaign, but he wanted everyday people to show how user-friendly his brand can be. he literally said that he wants moms, dads and even grandmas, moms, dads, college students, teachers, uh, grandmas, the video where he announced the winners has tons of comments from people expressing how misleading the contest was.
We had people writing, why do all these people have so many followers? I feel like some with not that many followers should have had the chance. You should select people who do not have many followers. It's unfair to the people who supported you from day one. Congratulations, but I don't see any small creators. here we go again, another brand that doesn't choose small creators, all the influencers, James, you didn't mention that you have to have followers, it's already a waste of people's time, James, I wish you had chosen people who didn't have so many followers . It's been good for others to get experience and exposure, but why did you choose people who were well known?
It's extremely disappointing that everyone already has followers. I thought the point was to get normal people who just love makeup and other people were disappointed. because shortly after James posted this video asking people to join the video of him to apply the sound, he deleted himself and no one could join it and post the video of him. Someone responded under the winner's post and said the inclusion is so great I love it, although it feels kind of unfair because the sound issue was never fixed with a tick tock campaign and James said this sound is copyrighted claimed and there is nothing tiktok can do to fix it.
I don't know, this all seems like a disaster to me, he never said the rules in his video, they never gave an age requirement in the video and when he did his live he literally had no idea about anything, people asked him so many questions that he didn't know the answers to, I think that many people feel as if they have wasted their time applying. I was watching the performances closely and there was a lot of talent from people who didn't have fans and just loved James. Fans who didn't have a big platform felt like they had a genuine opportunity here when clearly.
