differs a little from the advice I give for packing for the Roman summer and winter because those two seasons are really stable throughout the season, whereas spring, like fall, is a season that It has very changing temperatures.

From start to finish, no matter when you plan to visit Rome in spring, there are two general rules that you should definitely follow, no matter

There are a couple of other ways you can layer. These are two things I always carry in my backpack when I visit Rome in spring. Well, first it's a super, super small, very useful travel umbrella. The second is this raincoat. it doesn't weigh anything it's just a shell yes it's sunny right now it's not raining but I just want to show you that I have this little shell with me it's the easiest thing to put in my backpack it weighs almost nothing it's very light but waterproof and it's great when you're walking through Rome and there's a sudden downpour, it can happen.

I also love traveling with my handy little travel umbrella. You will find guys selling umbrellas outside when you walk and it starts to rain. These guys will do it. They appear everywhere selling umbrellas, but they are not very good quality, so I suggest you invest in a quality travel umbrella so you have something to take with you on every trip. Well, now it's time to be a little more specific. from the third week of March to the third week of June, as you can imagine, the weather can change quite a bit in that time, I don't know about you, but when the calendar changes from February to March, I always feel like Spring is here, March It is a spring month, but the reality is that most of March is a winter month and it really feels like winter, so if you visit Rome in the last 10 days of March, which is the beginning of spring, you can count.

Since it's quite temperamental, it can be a bit wintry and I suggest you bring slightly warmer clothing than what you see me wearing now. It's mid-April and it's considerably warmer if you visit Rome in April. I'm coming to visit you right now in April the weather can be really beautiful today it's in the mid 70's it's just lovely I'm in short sleeves but tonight it's going to cool down it's going to be in the 50's and I'm I'm going to need if I'm out I'm going to need a sweater like I showed you before and a scarf, probably not a jacket, but you should have one just in case, as you can probably imagine, April showers bring May flowers, yes April.

It can be a pretty rainy month in Rome, so definitely bring some rain gear, like that travel umbrella I showed you and a rain cover if you're visiting Rome in April, and you might even be surprised to find that these months are not the all. As warm as you might expect them to be. I've been writing about the weather in Rome for years. I've been helping people plan their visits to Rome for years and I can tell you that Rome is kind of fun. In May you would think it's this warm, sunny, beautiful, flowery month and it can be, but actually we once spent the whole month of May here in Rome without taking off our jackets and scarves, it just never got hot, it was very strange, but you have to plan it. that in May you're still going to want that cardigan, you're still going to want that scarf, and don't forget that you need to be properly covered if you're going to visit the Vatican, any church or any Christian site, so if you're walking around like that, you're going to need that cardigan. or scarf to enter those places if you decide to visit Rome in June, this is mainly a spring month, the first three weeks of June are actually spring, but we are getting much closer to those summer temperatures and you can feel them, so June is a month in which you should start planning your suitcases for more summery weather.

You could bring a bathing suit. We have beaches here near Rome. We have a few pools in Rome, so you might even consider visiting those places. so you might want to bring a swimsuit if you come to Rome in June.
