More Interesting Facts About,

the disappearance of patty vaughan...

She had this beautiful, happy suburban life, a big family, beautiful children, things for the Vaughan family were not all they seemed over the course of their 11 years of marriage. Jr was said to be quite controlling, like he wouldn't let Paddy work. mentioned that he made her stay home with the children, he was known for making some quite degrading comments and was apparently also physically abusive according to Paddy's friends and family, although no official complaints were ever made about this, but some members of Paddy's family had Said that Jr. once threw a glass jar of mayonnaise against a wall in anger and recently, before her

disappearance

, they had seen some suspicious bruises on her and Paddy's family just didn't like this guy.

You know it was bad news. They didn't think that. they should be together, they knew paddy was not happy in his marriage and apparently after they separated and their son moved away paddy was visibly happier, he went and got a job, he worked at a local electrical company called queenie electric which was nearby from her house and then about a month after they broke up, she got a new boyfriend too. She met a guy called Gary and he was actually an old flame who they had dated when they were teenagers before Paddy and Jr got married and the only reason they had broken up is because Gary's ex-girlfriend before he started Going out with Paddy contacted him and said: Yes, I'm actually pregnant and Gary thought he better do the right thing, so he left Paddy and married his ex-girlfriend who is going to have the baby. with and then when paddy and jr broke up gary had also divorced his wife so paddy said you know it must be, it's the perfect time, they were both single and ready to socialize so they started dating new and paddy's family.
the disappearance of patty vaughan
They didn't really know Gary that much, but they just knew that Patty was much happier with him, that she was much happier since she and her son had separated, and they were very supportive of the relationship and her being with Gary, unfortunately, but not. Everyone was very supportive of Paddy's new relationship as I mentioned that she was a devout Christian and one day on December 13th she was at the local Dairy Queen with Gary, you know, getting something to eat and this guy from her church saw her. them and this little grade idiot went and told the minister of the church even though this little idiot knew that Patty and Jr had broken up, the minister also knew that Patty and Jr had broken up, but that night in practice from the choir, the minister approaches Paddy. in front of everyone and he said: "You don't deserve to represent the church and you don't deserve to represent the choir after your behavior and Paddy was obviously mortified because she had said this in front of everyone and she was very upset." also because you know she loved to sing, she loved being part of the choir, she loved representing her church and it was a really horrible thing to do, but luckily Paddy didn't let it affect her relationship with Gary and actually brought him on Christmas Eve.
He had dinner with his family so he could meet everyone for the first time and he gave Paddy a heart-shaped pendant for Christmas and apparently it was a very good night. Everyone got along very well. Everyone really liked Gary and it was just a good night. Full of love and happiness, but then things went downhill very quickly on Christmas Day, so the plan for Christmas was for Jr to come to the house on Oak Park Road so he could be with the kids and they could exchange gifts where they were going . going to lunch together and they were trying to make the separation as easy as possible for the children and then Paddy was going to take the children to his sister Kathy's house for a big family Christmas dinner, but unfortunately Patty never came to dinner, her family called her. home phone and jr answered and said that paddy wasn't there that they had been arguing all day and that she had stormed out and left at 6:30 pm to go see gary and that she hadn't come home and that his family was like what the hell, because there's no way Paddy would leave his kids on Christmas Day and there's no way he wouldn't call them to tell them he wasn't coming, if anything he was most likely going to Christmas dinner to feel better and be close. family and her kids and you know, lots of love the next morning, December 26th, no one from her family had heard from her, they still couldn't get in touch with her, so they contacted Gary to see if I was with him. and he hadn't seen her, hadn't heard from her, so now he was freaking out too because obviously something was wrong enough for his family to contact him, so that morning one of paddy's cousins went to the sheriff's department Bear County and I tried to file a missing persons report, but the sheriff's department said, well, you know she's an adult, she can do whatever she wants, you know, we can't actually file a missing persons report until there's been missing for 72 hours and then at 1:30 p.m.
That afternoon of December 26, Paddy's light blue 1991 Dodge camper was found abandoned on the side of the road off Texas State Highway Loop 1604, which was about 15 miles from his home and about five miles from his work, and it was actually his boss who found the car that he had driven to work that morning and he hadn't seen it on the way to work and then that afternoon he was heading home and he was going to run some errands and that's when he found her car on the side of the road and Paddy hadn't been at work that day and she wasn't in the car, so her boss was obviously worried that she hadn't been at work now that he'd just discovered her car abandoned on the side of the road as if something was very wrong.
It's weird about the whole thing, so she called 9-1-1 and when the police arrived, they discovered that the left front tire of the car was flat and the engine was still hot and the inside of the car was like unusually clean rice. . She has three children. and you know she lets them be kids, so there's usually wrappers and debris and toys and stains on the car seats, but the car was spotless and it had actually been shampooed and it was still wet from the shampoo and in fact, In the cup holders there was still like water accumulated inside them from the car after having washed Paddy's bag and his keys were never recovered and inside the car they also found some men's clothing, there was like this red jumpsuit that had the initials jm on his back and he was like a mechanic. or a plumber's work uniform or something like that and no one knew who it belonged to, so the investigators test the car for fingerprints and DNA and that kind of thing, the car had been completely wiped of the prince, including the prince of Paddy, but they managed to find a complete set of prints. that had not been cleaned and they also found traces of blood on the back seat and on the sliding door, so at that moment it looked as if Patty had a flat tire and had stopped on the side of the road and from there maybe someone had kidnapped her, but there were a lot of things wrong with this series, it didn't really make much sense because one of her bosses on the way to work didn't see the car there, but found it on the way home from work, so unless someone were to kidnap her in broad daylight, it doesn't make much sense.
Secondly, the flat tire didn't have any puncture wounds, it didn't have any scratches, scuff marks or anything, so it looked like it. like it had actually been intentionally deflated so they did some testing and lo and behold it had been intentionally deflated they even took it and filled the tire completely and it didn't deflate so if anything had caused it to like blow out a tire , obviously it couldn't hold air again, so someone went and unscrewed the cap and let the air deflate from the tire and then put it back on to obviously stage it to make it look like it had been, you know, that Paddy had stopped at a flat tire there were no signs of a struggle either, there was no churned up dirt, there were no skid marks or anything like that and Patty was definitely the type of person who would have put up a fight, so if she had gotten a flat tire and stopped and someone had kidnapped her from there, there would definitely be signs of a struggle.
The driver's seat of the car had also been pushed all the way back, so it wasn't in the usual position Paddy would drive it in, so it definitely looked like someone. Maybe he had done something to Paddy, that was why they had shampooed the car, why traces of blood were found in the car, and why none of Paddy's personal belongings were found in the car, and then they went and They rigged the car to let out a little bit of air, so I would somehow throw the police off a little, try to make it look like I had just blown a tire, so while investigators were sending fingerprints, blood, and DNA to to carry out tests, they obviously agitated the 72-hour wait. period and they started the investigation, they started searching the immediate area around where Paddy's van was found and they had friends and family helping them, they had offices helping them, they had about 500 volunteers helping and Patti's friends and family They said they were actually very scared.
In this search they were simply going to find his body, but unfortunately this search turned up nothing. The investigators also went and questioned friends, family and potential suspects and obviously they went to question Gary and Gary offered to go to the police station and offered to take a polygraph test, he was very cooperative the whole time and You could tell he was devastated by Paddy's disappearance, he helped in every way he could, he was present at every search they did for Paddy and Patty's family, not really. They know him very well, they only knew him from the Christmas Eve dinner they had with him, but they got to know him a little better through the searches because, like I said, he was always there with them searching, he really tried to do everything he He was able to assist investigators and help find Paddy.
He also had a solid alibi for Christmas Day and unfortunately died a few years later in a tragic car accident and was never considered a suspect, so like I said, investigators also questioned some friends. and paddy and jr's family and discovered some pretty interesting things. First of all, one of Patty's sisters called her on Christmas morning and said that it sounded like Patty had been crying and when she asked Patty what was wrong, she said that she and Jr. had been fighting all morning and actually Jr. could be heard in the background of the phone call telling him to hang up the phone. jr's sister marilyn also i think had plans to have lunch with jr and patty or something so she headed over to his house around lunch time and jr opened the door and he said oh look probably you should leave". time to try to resolve whatThey needed to sort it out and just have some time to themselves, so obviously after hearing all this, the investigators questioned Jr and his story was that he and Paddy had gotten into a bit of a fight and apparently they had gotten into a fight. been fighting all day about gary because apparently patty wanted to spend more time with her boyfriend than her family and that's why he asked marilyn to take the kids so he and patty could have some time alone to try to figure it out. things, but I didn't end up resolving things and at 6:30 p.m. m., Paddy stormed off, she drove off in her car to go see Gary and that was it and apparently J.R didn't see her again now, a lot of strange things started to come up. jrFirstly, she never participated in any of Paddy's searches and said that she had to stay home with the children.
Secondly, Barbara went over and dropped some flies on some missing persons pamphlets so he and the kids could pass them out and when she went back there a couple days later, these flies were still in the exact same spot where she had put them. As I mentioned, since the separation in October, he had been living in an apartment in San Antonio and two days before Paddy disappeared, he contacted his landlord and he says, look, I have to break my lease because I'm moving out. somewhere else even though he had nowhere else to move to, I mean, maybe he was hoping to reconcile things with Paddy, I don't know, but make things even murkier once.
He came over on Christmas Day to visit Patty and the kids. He never had to move again. He just started living there and then the day after Paddy disappeared, on December 26, he went ahead and filed for divorce from Paddy. Give her the benefit of the doubt here, as if her story was true and they were fighting over Gary all day and then she stormed out and went to see Gary and then never came home. I mean, maybe he was angry about it and said hey, bye and filed for divorce, why is he so open about being shady if he's guilty?
How not to look for it. Filing for divorce the day after she disappeared. Trying to break her lease two days before she disappeared. I mean tell everyone why they were fighting. Gary all day like you're guilty, wouldn't you try harder not to look guilty? Or it's just me. If you were angry with her, you were with this woman for 11 years, you would surely want to go and help look for her even if it was just for the sake of the three children they have together and they also have her mother on top of all that. If you didn't already think he was shady a few days after Patty disappeared, he went ahead and replaced her voice on the answering machine with his own.
He also refused to submit to a polygraph test. He got a lawyer and refused to submit to any fingerprint or DNA testing so they could compare his DNA to the DNA and fingerprints found in Paddy's car so they could rule him out. He also refused to allow the researchers to take DNA samples from the children and refused to allow the researchers to talk to the children at all. He even went so far as to follow the children to their Bible study and wait at the Bible study to make sure that no one I could go in and try to talk to them.
He also did not allow them to search the house unless they had a court order. On December 29, investigators did just that and obtained a warrant to search the home. House Jr.'s little personal attack dog, his sister Marilyn, was there and she was like she got up and the investigators asked them a bunch of questions, it was just super annoying. the point at which she had to be escorted from the property while they searched, so investigators did a luminal test in the house and found traces of blood on the floor, walls and cupboard in Paddy's master bedroom in the bathroom main and also in a mop and a mop bucket in the house and despite this, despite finding traces of blood in the house, they were not coordinated as a crime scene and jr and the three children continued to live there, it could have been cleaning things tampering with evidence. removing things that he forgot to remove, but anyway they sent the blood found in the house for testing and a little later they got the test results and the blood found in the house and the blood found in Paddy's abandoned car belong to Patty so after a few months on february 10 1997 after nothing happened with the investigation you know jr was still living his life paddy's mom patsy was actually arrested for breaking into the house and attacking jr with a baseball bat and she was charged with assault and robbery and I couldn't actually find anything about whether she was actually sent to prison or whether those charges were dropped or whatever, but you know she was just convinced that Jr had something to do with Paddy's disappearance and she was angry because he wasn't responsible and I think Patty's family was feeling super desperate, they weren't happy with the investigation at all and Jr also managed to get custody of the three kids. and he wouldn't let them talk to paddy's family without a body it was really difficult trying to build a case against jr but it was a small town there were a lot of rumors circulating and finally the police got a tip on where paddy's body might be in the At the time of Paddy Jr's disappearance he was working as a supervisor at the construction of an elementary school in Pleasanton, which is about 40 miles from Lavernia and some of Jr's employees said that Jr had been acting really out of character and that he insisted on monitoring the pouring of the concrete, although it was not actually part of his work records, showed that the concrete was actually poured on December 21, 1996, that is, four days before Paddy's disappearance, but investigators decided Go look at the school anyway, in case those records.
We know they were faked, so with Jr's consent in May 1997 they went and searched the school and used ground penetrating radar which detected occasional anomalies under the concrete, but nothing substantial. They used a full drilling machine to dig into the concrete and then brought in cadaver dogs to try to detect any methane that would be emitted if there was a decomposing body under the concrete, but the dogs never detected any smell like that and nothing was found in the school nine years after Paddy's disappearance in 2005, investigators are still no closer to solving the case, so Jr went ahead and tried to have her declared legally dead so he could collect money from her life insurance and her parents.
Paddy said there was no way that was going to happen, they were drilled, so they went ahead and filed a civil lawsuit as unlawful. civil suit against him for death and so it was declared that paddy's life insurance would be put into a trust fund for his children when they grew up in 2006, the owner of a property in pleasanton came forward to the authorities and said that at that time After Paddy's disappearance, he realized that the construction company Jr. worked for had been digging a hole in that area and they said they dug this hole to store garbage and other types of debris, so investigators continued They went ahead and brought some corpse dogs and turned back.
When removing the cadaver dogs, it was almost impossible for them to smell anything because the location of this pit was so close to a cemetery that nothing was found. Patty's family also believed she may have been buried in the backyard of her former home on Oak Park Road. A garbage pit was dug in the backyard about four months before Paddy's disappearance and, according to some neighbors, apparently on Christmas night they heard the sounds of heavy machinery being used in that backyard, the new owners of the house They actually didn't allow it or not. He didn't give police consent to search the property until 2014 when they moved and new owners came in so it wasn't until 2014 that the police did a search but when they searched they found nothing in 2012 they went ahead and did some new ones DNA testing of some items that were found in Paddy's van and actually found traces of female DNA that didn't belong to Paddy, didn't belong to anyone in his family and one of the investigators said he thought he knew that. who this woman was, but without probable cause they were unable to get a warrant to go get her DNA to compare it to the female DNA that was found in the van, they also said that while Jr was the main person of interest, I believed that he had accomplices, that he had a couple of people, maybe friends and family, who really helped cover it up, but no one else has been publicly named.
I mean, could this female DNA be from Jr's sister? That's immediately where it occurred to me because I mean she was described as his little watchdog, especially when investigators came to search the house and she was, you know, angry and he supposedly gave the kids the day of Christmas, the day Paddy disappeared, maybe she took the kids. because she knew what was going to happen, she maybe she had more to do with it than just taking the kids for the day, but who were the other people who helped and what was the reason? It seems to me that maybe he was just jealous of Paddy. new relationship maybe he wanted to have the kids all to himself Paddy's family believed that Paddy was murdered in her house and then they put her body in their truck and took it to wherever they dumped her body, then they shampooed it, cleaned it and took it to the Texas state highway circuit. 1604, where, you know, they unscrewed the tire cap and let it deflate to throw off investigators and make it look like she had just abandoned the car shortly after the disappearance.
Jr. ended up moving to South Texas, as was Paddy's family. that is doubtful because it is very close to the border with Mexico and they believe that he moved there in case something came up and he needed to flee the country and go to Mexico, a few years later he moved to Colorado with the children, changed his name and moved He remarried and eventually also divorced his second wife and then ended up moving to Boise in Idaho and never allowed Paddy's children to see or talk to Paddy's family. this is a quote from paddy's sister janine she said it's just devastating to lose my sister and to lose those kids they will like my brothers we just want this nightmare to end and more than justice we just want to be able to lay her to rest we want to be at peace but the children are older now they would be like at least 30 years old and they have still never been close to Paddy's family.
I don't know if maybe jr gave them some lies and that's why they think badly of them or if maybe it's just because they were so young when they got cut. Outside of Paddy's family, they're just a little uncomfortable approaching, which is totally understandable. I mean, they've been through a lot losing their mother, but that's all from me today. That's all for this case, as always. I'd love to hear your opinion. comments below, what do you guys think about this? Do you think Jr had something to do with Patty's disappearance? Personally, I think so, but it's strange that if they are guilty, why do they act as guilty as he acted guilty?
It's like something hiding and in plain sight or it's just strange behavior like if you were guilty you would probably try to act less guilty but no no no jr but that's it that's it for this video that It's all from me today. Guys, as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. What do you believe? Do you think Jr had something to do with her disappearance? I hope you have a wonderful rest of the year. I hope you have a happy new year. I'll see you in my next video, bye guys.
