Now you can't talk about practicality without also talking about the software on current screens because they take up a large part of the cabin and control many things. Of the functions now, you may have noticed right away that there are no shortcut buttons here, there is just a big dial and a couple of buttons for the parking functions, the handbrake and stuff, but in this software you get a dedicated strip for your climate. You control the heated seats the heated steering wheel and you press a button there to deploy a tray that has the rest of these climate functions.
It's a little frustrating. It took me a little while to figure out how to use them all because on the tray. you have like the recirculation button, for example, you have the on and off button for the climate. I would love to have a shortcut button for that, but other than that, it works pretty well. When you're sitting high off the ground the first thing I notice is the steering, it's got a lovely weight to it, there's nothing artificial about it, in fact it's very much like any Grand Turo really nice to drive and tip over. The curves are full of sensations, they are full of emotion and that is very rare in an electric SUV.
I think the ride is also very well adapted to our roads. This is something that is notoriously difficult for an electric vehicle to achieve because it carries a lot of extra weight. and Ford Australia tells us that when they acquired this car for Australian standards they had a few tunes to choose from around the world and they chose one that they thought suited them best and they did a fantastic job. The ride in this car is enough firm enough to make the Mac e feel really connected, really sporty and very confident in corners, but it's not so firm that it ruins the ride like many of its competitors;
It's not the smoothest setup on the market. It's not the most comfortable SUV on the market, but it strikes what I think is probably the perfect balance between performance and ride quality in an electric vehicle like this, so when you combine that ride quality and that steering, you get a car that It's really fun. drive even though it looks like a big SUV and you also have a lot of confidence in those corners thanks to that long wheelbase and some pretty good tires, so it's a lot of fun, but I was a little worried that a car with a more tone Sporty like this would be a bit boring on longer trips, but it turned out that wasn't the case at all.
This car is actually a fantastic ride. These seats are still very comfortable after hours behind the wheel. The acoustic glass and the excellent sound system also do their best to keep noise out of the cabin which can also be a problem for electric vehicles as there is no engine noise and I was really impressed with a car that also kept it cool after long drives, making it a great tourer. It's great in the corners and that's why there are so many little things about this car that really won me over over time and just made me like it more and more the more I drove it and now I'm going to say something funny that probably sounds bad, but this car, the way it feels, the way it drives, the way it's a great tourer on the open road, actually reminds me a lot of an FG vcon I used to own, so yeah You are one of those people who have stepped out of a big Australian sedan and are looking for that kind of feeling in an electric car, well this is it now, if there are two main negative conclusions that I would draw from the driving experience of this car: First, the handling has a sort of secondary motion that can get on your nerves a bit, especially if you have a particularly bumpy road at those low speeds.
