of fish in Texas before time runs out you have been asking for a second part of this video, the last one we filmed was in Maine. It was really amazing, it was quite a grueling

challenge

, but we thought we'll go through this again. We're here in Texas, it's going to be hot today. The clock starts. Now we start our day on a river where we could potentially end up. Three to four different

species

, if we're lucky, realistically three will probably catch one, but we're going to try it.

We have the boat with many rods. Caleb is behind the camera filming and you, of course, will be joining us on this journey. So without further ado, let's get this 24-

hour

underway. Many passengers. Oh, I have something. What is this? I have something. I have something here. What do we have little one? Oh, what is this? No, it's Guadalupe, no, this is Little Hybrid, I think the only reason I say it's a hybrid is because if you look at its gill plate right there, you have those little stripes like a little mouth has, but it has the general color of a stain.

It's greener, you also have these little stripes, this is weird because I know there are spots and they are smaller than the largemouth here. I'm sure they intersect. I've heard them cross paths here in Texas, I don't know. I have one species, but I'm not going to outright say it's just a spotted bass that you should know about in the comments section below, but I'll keep the category open because I think it's a hybrid that's pretty. wild, such a pretty fish, oh look man that was cool, I don't know what it was, it's very rare that I catch a species of bass and I don't know how to identify it, you guys have to leave a comment.

embarrassingly because you know exactly what kind of fish it is it's great good start to the morning you know looks can be deceiving we just walked down that stream for about an hour we only got one fish it looked amazing everything was fine , the current water was felt. Well, we had the perfect life for the surface of the water, some swimming action, nothing, but we got a fish, now we're on the boat, the species we're looking for in this place, actually, just a little context here, the place we just fished is below. the place we are at now this is the lake all the water that is in that stream or that river comes from where we are going to fish right now stripers white bass largemouth bass if we are very lucky maybe a smallmouth we will give this approximately an hour and a half and then we'll jump on another spot anyway, enough talking, we're wasting time, let's be frank and fish, here we go, yes sir, we've got it, that's the one we want, that's the species we we want. baby, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here, I got you, I got you, I got you, I got you, I got you, come on, baby, we made it, oh boy, I'll try not to get hooked so early . the challenge those little guys you have to worry about are so fucking feisty wow it's crazy to think we were like a thousand miles north filming this challenge a couple months ago and we were catching stripers and now we're back down south here in my home state in Texas, we are still catching stripers.

These guys are strictly freshwater here, although they are known to breed in this lake, so that's cool, it's not a giant one, but we'll take that as the species number. two, that's a cute striped boy, thanks buddy, you just made yourself a famous cake, so she turned out okay, that's two species less, quick check for you, it's 9 to 10 am. m., we've been at this for a little over two hours, so we really need to pick up the speed, we need to find a system to put ourselves in a body of water that we can take out like two or three or maybe four species at a time, I think this is a good option, we don't do it.

We'll be spending too much time here because we have greener pastures to go to, but I think if we go up shallow and check out some of these docks, maybe we can get a bluegill and then potentially, of course, a largemouth, let's move on to shaolin and let's see if he can get some green fish, come on, he's got it, he swims away with it there we go there we go he feels decent he feels decent I think this is our green bass come here come here buddy oh yeah, that's a good one good bigmouth quick this thing is quick come here buddy, come on baby, we did it two species in this place, we're not done yet.

I was hoping we'd get a good largemouth. The last challenge we did, we caught some really small fish and that's not exciting, but this is a nice healthy high two pounder, thanks. you go back down you go bubby that didn't take long I could always count on the green bass to bite mommy soaked me up too oh that's three less let's keep eating you know?

Like a two-foot rod or they call it a dock demon, yeah, yeah, they named it after me, yeah, 'cause you know why I go into demon mode on these docks. I just want to make it clear to you, Caleb, in the audience, that uh, don't really play games like bass is cool, whatever, if you're into that, but I'm more of a panfish contosour, let's see if we can dabble in some of these little shadow lines and below these. docks at the marina see if we can hook up a couple of yachts, you know, something light ready, this is it, oh my gosh, that was instant, dude, that was instant, that was instant, oh my gosh, look at the size of The scale, that was instant, man, there we go. it's species number four and it's not even oh, it's 1002. species number four, this one's a little strange.

I don't think you can find these types of bluegills up north. I had never seen them until I came down. here Texas, but this type of bluegill is called coppernose and they get their name because that little greenish coppery coloration that they have right on top of their head they also get pretty big, like these are the uh these are the bluegills a lot. biggest you'll find here in Texas that and also shell crackers, which are also known as red ear, which is a beautiful dock for fish, fishing this time of year in the heat is just a chance, they are 100 a chance because they are looking for shade They're looking for cold water, that's exactly why we caught this guy.

Hell yeah, back there, thanks for playing, buddy, did you see how fast you swim? Bluegills are so much fun, I've always said growing up as a kid if bluegills have to be like 10 pounds everyone would catch them pound for pound, they're the hardest fighting little fish out there and you know when you narrow it down the size and you use ultralight gear like we do today, they become a lot of fun, we are about to split up. I'm waiting for these guys to put their pontoon on the trailer and I went to get the truck and thought I'd walk down the bank just to see what was swimming there.

Sure enough, we found a shed for gizzards, now we need them for another species we're going to chase when the sun goes down and the big ones come out, so I'll do my best to throw a pitiful net at these jibs and just secure the bait bag for later tonight. was the ass okay hey Kaleb would you like to try another cast on that one a little maybe oh my god so many dude oh my god so many oh dude I think that's enough bait for the day oh what an animal good job bro that is what happens?

The meatball bait Caleb just collected for us will be some of the best bait you can get. gizzard chad is like number one, put it there thanks buddy of course that will come in handy luckily I suck at cast nets. We get some backup, though not only is Caleb evil behind the lens, he's also evil behind the cast. Net Time Check 11 59. We are getting close to point number two. I feel like we're good right now. We have four. different species of fish, lots of bass to the next area, I'm not going to fish too much, I fished here in the past and did pretty well, but you know, the season changed and things get mixed up, if this looks good we'll stay if we can take off. two fish here that would be mega mega check out new nice boots trying these babies out today we are releasing these on August 30th mark your calendars these are seriously some of the most comfortable deck boots I have ever worn and they come this sexy camo from low bandito so the fish don't see it coming these boots we made don't rub your heel they don't grab your ankles they're just super cute and comfortable you can even use them as house slippers It might piss off your wife or fiancé, but listen, it's all well you guys are very nice anyway, I might be a little too hot for them right now too, but I want to break them out, get some white bass and some hybrid slime on them, but I thought I'd show you guys these puppies.

These are now boots that we can say we created, designed and made for all of you. friends at home but like I said on August 30th check out googansquad.com and use my code john b anyway shut up john we're going fishing literally when we get to the ramp I turn my head to the right and there's a white bass popping everywhere like a field of fish the size of a football erupted to the surface white bass and hybrids I don't care that it's hot I don't care that it's hot, let's go check them out and see if we can eliminate another species for our list let's get it done let's go check this pier for crappie and then head over here yeah let's go it's not the main one we're looking for but this one right here is a Texas spot after the one I was about to leave.

I was telling Caleb that this isn't what I normally expect. For some reason striped fish have been very difficult for me this year, but luckily you can always rely on a small spot. At every stop we make along this trip, I want to cross at least one fish off our list and for some reason. I can't get the damn white bass which is usually very easy and I can't get the hybrids to take on so I thought I'd head out to these docks and try something different and of course a little spot thanks mate this might be a fish, we already caught this challenge, I don't know, it just looks very different from the first fish we caught during this challenge, this one could still be number four, but for now we'll call it number five, see you around buddy.

I'm going to try a couple more cats here to get a small white or black crappie, then it's time to dip my head in a pond and do some bank fishing, that's the burden of this challenge, especially if It's in the middle of the Texas heat. It's going to be difficult and you know, 24 hours of fishing trying to catch 10 species and more is already a challenge and then you add this, just the swamp ass, the good sweat is real here, which actually this is not a great way from Leave place number two. We were loading the boat on the ramp and then I felt a crack in my propeller.

What the hell, you have to be kidding me? A lovely human being left his anchor right in the middle of the ramp and I sucked it with my prop, I mean it's bent here, I just surprised myself well bent there, oh yeah, I got it, it got messed up, the hybrids led us astray, no I was able to catch a damn white bass, which is usually the easiest fish to catch. in

and I guess I'll come home with an anchor thank you thank you thank you whoever left this for me I appreciate it you know I didn't need an anchor but now I have one wow buddy look at all this rope The guys are probably thinking, well maybe they shouldn't have given you trimmed whether you were charging power or not, dude this rope was just hanging out, I had no idea, I couldn't even see it underwater, we did it.

Point Number Three Quick Time Check We've burned a lot of time driving and wasting some valuable moments at that last location, but there's about 4 45 13 hours left in this challenge and I think we have four species confirmed, five unconfirmed the objective. because the whole challenge, of course, is to get over 10. We're almost halfway there, we can catch a white crappie, a black crappie, a magnolia crappie, which is like a black crappie strange with a stingray on the head, uh, we might as well catch a bluegill which somehow we haven't yet, we caught copper, but not a royal bluegill, and the big trick is we can't catch a carp here .

I know you probably don't love it when we catch a car, but there are so many of them. It's fun, they pull hard, and it's on our list today, so we're currently doing some fellowship. I stole some whole grain corn from my fiancé Achilles Libby, she's been on quite a kick making that cornor smaller catfish, I just try to be a little diverse. here since we are running out of time I can't just cast the same as I would love to go for the buffalo because they are thick around here it makes more sense to vary the rod which one oh yeah yeah the rod the rod. rod rod fish on fish on fish baby on fish on I don't know what it is it feels good wow wow what do we have here the fish is on that's on the shrimp kroger baby we're hooked come on I needed to hear that drag the shell today oh I think it might be a catfish, I have no idea what this is, step back with me, I'm going to grab the net, oh yeah, oh yeah, come on baby, I definitely don't need the nut for this fish, but I don't want to risk losing any fish today, come here, come here buddy, come on, get in the nuts, pick up the nuts, come on honey, keep fishing, never stop, this 24 hour challenge has been exhausting.

I think what we have here is some Channel Catfish, these guys are incredibly fun to catch, they are widespread throughout Texas and they put up a great fight, it was so much fun that I have a primo gizzard shad on that rod right next to it, but this little catfish who wanted the Kroger frozen raw shrimp just goes to show that you really don't need fancy stuff to fish this time of year, especially if you're doing a little catfishing at night. I don't think this is a channel blue I'm pretty sure it's just a normal channel catfish sweet fish, although it's not a bad little creature. swarming the spots it was one hell of a fight, well that fish is number eight for us, this thing totally destroyed me, nothing like some spillway kittens to get you bright and windy in the morning, it's crazy to think that already It's morning.

We've literally been at this for almost 24 hours and we're not done yet. We still have that buffalo carburetor. If we can get one more, maybe a drum or a blue channel or a bullhead, I don't know, I think it could happen. We just need to get some lines down and keep spinning baby, come on baby, I got it, I got it, I was sick, I saw that fish eat it, it was so dirty, that's the buffalo carp we're after, oh these guys fight so hard. I gotta be careful though, these guys fight so hard and I have a light line that was so cool I literally just spun that thing like a bass oh it's actually pretty cool man it's not too small for an ultralight. cane that feels good, okay, I just can't mess this up, we have an hour and 20 minutes left and we have our ninth species connected right now, this is crazy, this is crazy, oh oh man, definitely one of the bigger.

We've seen these guys reach up to 70 pounds, they get huge, and despite what most people think, these fish are actually native to Texas, unlike the common carp, let's even throw them in the net, come on baby, let's go crazy. Actually, it's big, brother, what a wild looking fish, the face, the morphology of its body, they are strange. I've never seen many of these growing in Illinois, but when I got to Texas, I noticed there are a lot of these. guys, shallow, deep and they get absolutely huge, this guy is about to burst, oh god, come on mate, I'm going to grab a small one, take one last look at him and send him back in the water, that was so much fun, friend.

It was fun. I'm so glad we ended this challenge on a strong note and without giving up, and to free it, that thing fought really hard. fish that only a mother could love honestly personally I love them because they fight hard but I wish you guys could smell my hands oh so stinky so stinky okay this is it we have one more fish to catch here we go it's probably a small catfish. What do we have here? No, it's a drum, come on, baby, come on, we did it. What time is it? What time is it?

I can't believe that just happened. I can't believe that just happened. There are 58 minutes until our 24-hour timer arrives. is over and this is our 10th species of the damn day this right here is a freshwater drum these are such great fish they will eat lures live bait cut bait honestly they will eat almost anything when they grow up they are a It's a lot of fun to catch but this one is definitely one of the smallest I've ever caught. The other interesting thing about these drums is that they feed a lot at night and that's one of the reasons you see a bit of reflection behind them. eyeballs use that to, presumably, I think I might be talking up my ass, but they use it to sneak around and search for food in the depths looking for, you know, shrimp, that's cool, man, bye, little drum, you're the last and last puzzle piece. this 24 hour challenge look at it it's so cute i want to take it home with me he says wow it was quite a trip first i ate a shrimp and then you know what i'm looking at an idiot we did it 24 hour challenge one hour completed, we have 50 minutes left, we completed our goal, so that's it, it's finished, I think in the future I think we set a goal opposite to just aimlessly trying to capture as many speeches as possible when it comes to the North Texas.

Fishing there isn't a lot of diversity, so catching 10 species in 24 hours, literally in one day, in my opinion, is quite a feat. I think the only thing that would have gotten better today is if we had caught that guardian alligator, but we can't. focus on what we missed we have to appreciate how wonderful this little sun was. It was so much fun filming this 24 hour challenge in Maine. It was fun filming in Texas. This time we caught some different fish. We also revisited some. species too, which is so cool that you can catch the same fish in Maine as you can here in Texas, but I think we're rebuilding the outlet.
