I'm surprised there's another bottle of Hutchinson soda out there, and overall the

find

s have been a bit sparse, but I know it's quality, not quantity. Murphy Brothers in Dakota Territory is a Holy Grail. Welcome to the channel. My name is Tom. I travel the US today in search of artifacts. I will be working west of Fargo, North Dakota, in a small town called Walcot. I will be excavating the site of the train station and the initial lot of the hotel and what I believe is one of the first sites of the hall. These all date back to the 1880s, when the

city

was started even before North Dakota was a state, so the potential is through the roof.

I'm standing directly behind where the Scandinavian Hotel once stood. No longer exists. It was a smaller structure. It faced the street. What I'm going to do here is clean this up. I will be pushing a problematic rod through the soil and looking for differences in objects and compaction that could indicate a place where the soil has been disturbed at the back of the lot toward the alley, you see, I put some sticks in the

ground

. I was probing, there wasn't really any indicator of anything here, the

ground

hadn't settled, but the rod slipped through the ashes of a stove, some objects, I think I felt glass which is a good indicator of early vision, so that we will open this thing.

city

, you can see we have a sort of eye drop, eh, a Chinese ironstone cup of coffee, bitter, a poison, a medicine, it wasn't so bad, it's always fun to get into these first pits.
We'll fill this thing in the Scandinavian Hotel lot, clean it up good. Now I'm on Main. On the street behind where I think a saloon once stood, there aren't many indicators of where exactly the building was, but I got permission to excavate this entire lot. I noticed some low spots, so I'll start there and work my way out. Walking towards the back of the lot and noticed this

sunken

area. I pushed a test rod through the ground. I felt some compaction differences. Some ashes, possibly some glass. You will see. I kicked some marks on the floor showing the dimensions we will get.
It opened up and there's stuff everywhere in here, mostly broken shards and stuff, but okay, a ketchup bottle. Sometimes these will have markings on the bottom. I can see something in relief. A slug-shaped plate is wedged between this piece of metal here and I've just been working around it. There is some ironstone porcelain on top. I don't want to break it, let's see here, ah. broken Joseph Simonic Botler won North Dakota, so I've dug them before. It looks like this is probably Aqua. He may have broken me when he was thrown into this piece of metal. I'm trying to get this out now, it's still a little stuck. Wow, that's an old teapot that would have been on a stove. This thing is cast iron.
I bet this thing will clean very well. It looks like we have a bottle of Hinson soda. There's a dish I've been working on. At the water table I am still struggling. that has an older pattern, what do we have in this thing? Oh, Alfred, well, I've dug up a lot of your stuff over the years. This is a semi-porcelain plate. It's hard to see the design because of the mud, but there's something about it. brown leaves on top there's something I was working on too I don't know what it could be uh I think it's made of wood possibly if anyone knows leave a comment about this thing cooling in water again be careful I don't.
I want to damage it, this is right at the bottom, uh, there's embossing on the bottling. Jobs won. ND, I think this is strange. I had never dug one of these before. Works won in North Dakota. Oh, that's beautiful. They have an incredible shape. They actually had a spring-loaded cap to seal the contents when it looked like some sort of Shoe Fly liquor jar. This is just after the 1890s of State Hood. Without relief, but it is in good condition, it has some groundwater. If you look, you will see the type of rainbow that opens over them and that is iridescent because of the minerals. the ground appears to be the bottle sitting on the edges here we have a machine made carved cap, whether it was an extract or a medicine, it would have had a paper label on the front and another, yes, the same carved on the top, this dates back to about 1910. still in a layer of solid wear uh looks like some kind of cold cream container toiletries sometimes well ponds I've dug a lot of these it was a major toiletries company, they sell skin creams moisturizers stuff like those machine made beer um dates on that Range from 1910 to 1920, oh, a couple of pieces, so this is a guilloche lid made by the Whittle Tatum company.
