Solar Light Hacks Ideas | Lantern - Tabletop - Layered - Tall | Dollar Tree // Cluttered CorkBoard

Apr 10, 2024
Hello guys, I hope you are having a great week. I thought it would be fun to put together a video using an inexpensive

solar

light

. I bought this one at Dollar Tree. In fact, most of the items I'll be using in this video are from Dollar Tree as well and I can come up with different

ideas

or uses for the

light

instead of just the traditional

solar

light on the ground, so that's what I'm doing in this video. I have a

tall

option, a

layered

option, some table

ideas

including a Hanging Lantern Type Idea, so that's what I'm working on in this video, let's start with my first table idea.

I am using a glass chandelier and to make my light fit more securely in the base, I am using a rubber band and simply wrap it around the bottom of the solar light so it fits more snugly in the holder and you can still see the elastic band across the glass so I could have used hot glue to avoid that but it didn't bother me. and I think it's fun and this is what it looks like at night here's my next idea. I'm listening to how I made a call to sunlight. I've done this for years, basically you just take a rod that fits into the bottom of your solar light and paint it the same color as the solar light, so in this case it's silver, so I painted the rod silver and that's it. , and obviously the rod won't last long when placed in the ground so there are probably other options that can be like PVC pipes if you can find the right size that would last much longer, but I don't mind using the rods as they are cheap and easy to find and then you can see them here.

More Interesting Facts About,

I made them in black near my patio and I also did a sort of

layered

look by cutting the rods into different links so they are different heights inside a planter and I think it's a fun unique look for the next table idea I just came up with. take a small glass globe that I bought at Dollar Tree and I'm just going to hot glue the light to the bottom of the globe and turn it over. If hot glue doesn't hold up to the heat from outside you could easily use something like e6000 to make it more permanent but I wasn't too worried about that at this point so I decided to go ahead and use hot glue and needless to say but I thought I'd go ahead and throw it here.

A lot of the ideas I heard used glass and are breakable, so if you have little kids or pets that can pull things off the cords or you want to play with things, that's something to keep in mind, this is probably one of them. One of my favorite Dollar Tree finds so far is this textured jar. I simply removed the lid and placed the top of the sunlight into the jar. It fit perfectly in fact, then I removed some of the sunlight and just used the lid part and it worked perfectly and wait until you see it in the dark, it's beautiful.

Next I'm using this glass star I found and I just hot glue the top of the solar light into place and then I'll turn it around and I thought it would be really fun for the 4th of July so I decided to try making a

lantern

pendant with one of the textured jars too, so I'll just use a little bit of water and make a loop at the end of the wire with some round nose pliers and then wrap it around the top of the jar creating another loop in the middle of the top of the jar and then I will run the wire through the first loop and then back through the second loop, I hope I am explaining this correctly but you can see it in the video and this is how I did this to attach a hanger to my jar and I certainly didn't need to use such a heavy gauge of wire for my hanger, but that's what we had on hand, so that's what I chose.
I think this hanging

lantern

turned out really cute and I really need to buy more of these jars. Another quick idea for a table-style centerpiece is to put it inside a pot with some flowers. or even an upside down flower pot if you're new to my channel.
