Skiff vs ProtonMail - Which is Better?

Mar 18, 2024
Hi guys, how do you do? My name is Tom Spark. Welcome back to another video today. Let's compare

skiff

.com with Proton Dot Me. Now, ahead of time guys, this is a completely unbiased review and comparison of both products. I am a Proton affiliate but I am not a Skiff affiliate; However, skip is actually my preferred email provider at the moment just to show you that I am unbiased and don't recommend something just to make money. This is probably not the In case there are other competitors on YouTube that make videos like this, if they make a video comparing protons to

skiff

, I guarantee they will probably choose protons mainly because they are making money with protons, however, that is not the case. in this video and I just wanted to make that clear before we compare the services.
skiff vs protonmail which is better
First, let's go ahead and compare right away. skip.com is a newer company created by people who want to provide a good open source privacy product for encrypted email and Pages storage,

which

is great, so you have your own little Google docs alternative with skiff and that's really good. skiff also has a more crypto component or at least a blockchain component where you can create a wallet account,

which

is very interesting and it has that decentralized nature when creating an account, which is great and they have also partnered with a lot of other types of projects based on cryptocurrencies or blockchain, which is an interesting component for Proton in the On the other hand, it is a company that has been around for a while known for its VPN disk and mail services.

More Interesting Facts About,

skiff vs protonmail which is better...

It actually doesn't have as much of a crypto component and it's like an older company in general, but it's kind of like that. The year at least reinvented itself with the new branding and the design element, which looks pretty cool, so right off the bat which one is more affordable, well it's an interesting comparison because the skiff itself costs zero dollars and so is the proton. It depends on each individual plan, for example with proton you start with 500 megabytes and can unlock more storage, it says up to a gigabyte, however with skip you actually start with 10 gigabytes of mail storage, so skiff has a free plan significantly

better

. in my opinion, um or not even my opinion, it's just in terms of the stores and the pages, you get the storage for a gigabyte and Proton doesn't have support for pages, so they don't have any kind of document editor, they have the unit. and calendar and VPN, but again, VPN is kind of a different component that you're going to pay a lot more for, so that's something to think about as well, that's what the skiff looks like, it's very nice in a modern style , clean and friendly. minimalist in terms of aesthetics, if you go up here you have unity and pages, and if you go to pages it works pretty well, you just click here and you have a nice layout with different keyboard shortcuts and things like that I think.
skiff vs protonmail which is better
Honestly, a little, skip this, a little too minimalist. I know there are specific shortcuts and things you can do. I think so, if you click on it, more options will appear here. It's pretty well designed, but they go. It's tough on minimalist, but it makes it look great. Proton really has none of that. They don't have pages. They have more of that traditional calendar. Driving features, but Skiff has that handling too, so here we go. I can upload files and things like that in terms of usability of the products. I think skiff has an advantage mainly because of the page support.
skiff vs protonmail which is better
I don't really think the calendar is that interesting or useful because especially you can have a calendar. on other types of devices on your phone and things like that, iPhone, Android and things like that. I mean, you don't really need to counteract too much, I mean, if you want to keep your agenda private, I guess, but again you can do that. which with some other methods mainly through email and disk is what proton offers in my opinion as something interesting but skiff has that document editor which is really good and disk and mail so I think skiff a Even though it is a brand, the new company is competing very well on features and, as I said, it also has a

better

free model: 10 gigabytes compared to 500 megabytes and a gigabyte up to that, but we can also talk about other things in terms of these two products.
What about the paid plan? so the proton game plan is around 47 per year which is a pretty affordable skiff, on the other hand it gets a little more expensive once you start paying, they have a very generous free model, but when you start paying, it gets more expensive pretty quickly. about $96 a year, eight dollars a month, so when you get the annual notebook it's about $96 a year, so with the pro model you get better support, a lot more storage, and a good amount of support storage for Pages, also now with the email plan. here you only get 15 gigabytes and no storage and I'm pretty sure this would include the drive you don't specify, but I'm pretty sure you also get 100 gigabytes for storage on the drive and something like that is included. it's probably shared between the pages and the drive as well, so if we look at the storage completely, you know that the skiff costs more, but it gives you a lot more storage, so that's a very interesting thing, which is why the protons are more affordable .
The skiff is a little more expensive but gives you more, but if you are looking for a more affordable paid plan, I think proton has a slightly better paint plan, at least in terms of price. I think skiff should compete a little better with proton and reduce them maybe if skiff made their paid plan around 45 or 40 a year, I think it would definitely surpass proton. Plus with proton you can get the VPN for around 120 bucks a year, so for just twenty extra bucks on top of skiff you're also getting a VPN, which is pretty good, so I think they have an advantage there too.
Skiff does not have a VPN and the Proton VPN is pretty good. I reviewed it on my channel and also check out the Proton VPN review if you want to see my exact thoughts on that as in my opinion it's probably one of the best reviews out there so guys that's my thoughts on it so far . The good thing about Skiff is that it also has a very generous reference rate. program if you refer a friend you get 10 credits if you download the app for iOS you get 10 credits if you download it for Android you get 10 credits and if you download it for Mac you also get 10 credits, up to 40 dollars credit which is pretty good, so if you get forty dollars of credit income combined with that 100 plan you can actually get it for about 60 dollars a year which is really good and makes it more competitive with proton products so overall guys what believe?
It's best to skip or protonate if you're looking for a free service and don't want to pay. I think Skip has an advantage because it offers more features for a free model and gives you more storage for fetching pages. Drive and mail which is a really good combination, almost completely replaces Google products in my opinion, now Proton has calendar support and I guess Skiff will probably have it one day, but they don't have the pages or the document editor, which I believe. It is a big disadvantage compared to skiff, however, although Proton is not as good as the free gift plan, I think their paid plan is a little better priced and more affordable, although it does not include as much storage as the paid plan. of gifts.
I said: I think if you go for the big Protons package that includes VPN, I think it's a better value than Skiff's overall paid plan which is about $96 annually, for about $120 you could get Proton VPN and all the mail products too. I think it's a pretty good value and if you're interested in that, click the link in the description below my affiliate link and it will help support the channel and this review, so overall those are my thoughts, which one is better, which one is better. For you it depends a bit, for me personally I'm using skiff at the moment and it's my preferred way of doing it as I already use a different VPN that is very affordable.
Torguard is my preferred choice for VPN, so if you have a different VPN I think you might go with Skiff. I think it's a better option if you don't have a VPN. If you're looking for a Proton VPN package plus a mail package, it's actually pretty good now, so it might as well be an option for you anyway. I hope you like this unbiased and objective review comparing the skiff and the proton and I'll see you in the next video very soon.
