Bafang 750w Motor Upgrade and Install for your Rad Power Bike

from the standard 500 watt

motor

to the 750 watt motor, now you probably thought it said 500 watt motor, all rad

bike

s that have a geared hub motor so the rad rhino, rad rover, rad mini, new radwagon 4 etc all come with a 500 watt motor and in europe that motor is restricted to 250 watts and in north america It is restricted to 750 watts if you want to know what I mean by that check out the video I produced explaining the Egg Rider and the 35 Amp Controller and that will give you a little more information on what I mean by that there are some specialized tools you will need.

The first specialized tool we need is a T20 Torx bit. The other tool you may need. This is to remove the freewheel. Now it has a cut and it is to pass through the cable. This tool is not essential. You can do this job without it and I'll show you how to do it too, without further ado. let's be nice and close let's take a look at what we're doing and change this motor okay so you took the wheel off your bike if you decide you're going to keep your wheel free you're going to need this special tool and the reason why it has This cut is because without the cut you cannot place a normal tool on the motor connector.

Grab the tool slot, bring it down, grab the extra bit, let me spin this. so you can see what I'm doing insert that like this and then with a large wrench or a wrench now you can easily undo this as the freewheel comes off now if you don't remove the freewheel you're going to need to get to these bolts through the top gear gear and that's it all three wheels have been removed now with your special torx bit we can go around and remove all of these and that's it six bolts have been removed now all we have to do is give it a gentle tap on the motor like that to lift it out of the casing and voila the motor comes out, we'll put it to the side, inside are the planetary gears, we can leave them there or we can use the new ones that come with the 750 watt motor now. on our new engine, six bolts, let's undo all the same ones as before, just give it a gentle tap and it will be fine.

The gears are left inside the new motor and that is the difference. This is the original 500 watt motor. This is the upgraded 750 watt motor. Okay, let's go ahead and put this back on the wheel. Now a little warning: there is a magnet there. If it falls off or if you take it out and it comes back in the wrong direction, you will get a faulty motor sensor, so be sure. I'm sure you pay close attention to what's going on with that magnet and just inside the motor, right there, I don't know if you can see that little notch that's where that magnet lives, just give it a little shake until it explodes.

Well, what I've done is lift the wheel to a vertical position and very carefully, not turning it, but turning this shaft, moving it until the magnet and the planetary gears line up and click, the motor turns on and now we are. We're ready to put our six bolts back on and those six bolts are now in place, so I have a Torx wrench and I'm going to do all of this up to five Newton meters, all of them have already been tightened and now we're going to put our new wheel back on. free and that's it, when you put it back on your bike and put the chain on as soon as you start pedaling, that will tighten this.

All in all, make sure you take your time, make sure you line up that little magnet I was talking about and just work with it slowly and you'll be absolutely fine once the engine is on, you'll experience a lot. of extra torque it is a much more
